Coffee: Several choices at the self-serve station. I served myself the Lake Blend(they use Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters), which is a non-flavored blend of single-origin coffees(I despise flavored coffees). I could faintly taste remnants of one of their flavored coffees, meaning a) somebody accidentally ground flavored coffee in the non-flavored only grinder, then didn’t rigorously clean the grinder to remove the garbage, b) they are not using dedicated airpots — some for flavored coffee, some for non, or c) they are not cleaning out the coffee brewing basket sufficiently, and it is picking up the oils from the flavored coffee. Bottom line: cross contamination. Not good. Espresso: Ok, so everyone’s not a barista. That doesn’t mean you can’t learn. It takes a bit of practice to pull good, consistent shots of espresso. What I had was not good. I don’t know if the espresso was stale, the portafilter not tamped properly, the water not filtered, or the portafilter not cleaned between shots, but from what I tasted, it was not good. Food: Ordered a big chocolate chip cookie for a buck. It was pretty good! Ordered the hummus wrap for $ 5.75. It was the puniest wrap I have ever eaten in my life. A tiny bit of hummus, a few skinny slices of tomato, a wee bit of lettuce. Some chips on the side. Worst of all, the tortilla was cold — right out of the fridge. Who the heck likes to eat cold wraps? WARMTHETORTILLA! PUTSOMETHINGONIT! Ambiance: It was stone silent. No music, no nothing. If you don’t want to spring for the Pandora DMX service, how ’bout the radio? All one could hope for in a coffeehouse is good coffee, good espresso, good food, comfortable surroundings, and a welcoming staff. The place is under new ownership, and now would be a good time to start working on those things. That being said, I sincerely encourage everyone to support local businesses and old downtown districts. I also encourage such businesses to give patrons a reason to return.

Basic coffee shop, with pannini and wraps. Get off the highwau, support a local business, avoid the chains when you can

Cute coffee shop in town — especially perfect if you are on a long drive off of Rt. 390. Good stopping point than at a gas station and they have seats and quick bite to eat and clean bathrooms. They even have soy milk and agave syrup for your coffee!
