Over priced, paid $ 20 bucks for an organic chicken burger. It was good, but not worth $ 20!

Had a breakfast of eggs potatoes and toast. Eggs and toast were fine. Potatoes looked good and were oven roasted but clearly not fresh. At least a day old and maybe even two days old and microwaved. This is a display of tackiness serving food that is clearly not fresh for top dollar price.

Never got to try the food, but sitting at a table for half an hour without service before we just stood up and left was suuuuuper fun.

Great food, great service, and the Giants game on in the bar… can’t complain about anything. The lady who helped us had a British accent and red hair, she was phenomenal! With that being said, there is no Ranch Dressing? Well I wanted to dip my pizza into some ranch, so Adrianna put the Siracha down and hook us up! #RanchLivesMatter

Was not a place I would return. Everything heavily oiled. Muted flavor a overall. When I order a pizza I don’t expect to be served a calzone. Artichoke was super stringy near heart and stalk causing multiple instances of I can steam an artichoke and eat plain with a better flavor than the lemon mayo smoked artichoke. It was an oiled artichoke half with half the leaves pulled off, served with unflavored l mayo and slice of lemon. $ 30 for tiny artichoke, meatless calzone and a 4 oz glass of wine not what I consider a great deal Bar staff new and completely unfamiliar with wine selections not asked what size glass I wanted when 3 were offered.

The food here generally tastes fine, the desserts are good, the service is very good. The value of this place is the main problem. My family of 4 and I had come here a handful of times before we noticed a pattern — we always seem to spend $ 60 – 75 and still leave hungry. Today I thought I’d try it again with a girlfriend and things ended up about the same, except my salad wasn’t even good! I ordered an entrée sized Cobb — I’d be surprised if it had even 4 ounces of chicken on it, the chicken had no flavor, and the the dressing was basically mayonnaise which meant it totally weighed down the field greens in the salad. I picked out the chicken and ate around the mayo globs. I will say my son enjoyed his pizza and the food came out fast. Overall, I’d only recommend this place is you’re looking for a late night option in the area(which are hard to come by in Danville/San Ramon).

Great food. Good for a group because there is a good variety of types of food on the menu. I loved that I could sub a beet salad with my burger. Good chocolate cake and great beer selection.

we love it here. My older daughter is a picky eater, but here we can enjoy a meal as a family without complaints.

The problem with this restaurant is it’s lack of consistency. Sometimes I come here and the food is just amazing and the service is great. Other times the food is subpar and the service is mediocre. But I have a bigger problem with the taste and quality of the food here. For breakfast the marion’s pancakes are so good and you can’t go wrong ordering the farm eggs! I usually order the chai which is USUALLY amazing but unfortunately it fell short today. I’m hoping they can do something about their inconsistency because this restaurant has a lot of potential to be great, but for now, it’s just good.

So, I decided to try this place again. And now I understand why it’s worth 5 stars! I sat in the same booth(not planned, but it was the only table available). Different waiter this time, and he was great, taking our order right away. So, the biggest difference for me was the food. I got the Marion pancakes, which were AMAZING. And I’m not even a huge fan of pancakes. I loved that it was slightly crispy on the outer edge and had a flavored raspberry undertone. The dish was also accompanied by a small bowl of hot raspberry sauce to dip the pancake in — delicious! I’ll back for those pancakes!

Love me some Chow! I love they use sustainable and organic ingredients. This place has wonderful food, good service and I love that it’s just down the street from me! Yum!

Let’s just say someone was mad when he didn’t get his coffee he ordered. The environment was cozy and the nutritious menu added to the vibe. They offered portions that are right for everyone’s hunger. We ordered their cheese pizza, beet salad, minestrone soup, linguini with seafood, fries for the table, and flourless chocolate cake ala mode(not shown). Overall our food was amazing. Our only problem was the service. It took about 15 minutes before a waiter asked for our order and 45 min for the food to come out. Also we ordered coffee and it never came. Even though service was a little rough, the food speaks for itself.

I had hoped to like it here. Their ingredients look good on the menu. I ordered the lamb burger. It, and the fries, were cold. The guy who served it had his thumb literally on my plate and under the burger– yuck. But mostly, the food was cold and just not that good. Also, the Arnold Palmer I ordered was so strongly acidic it really wasn’t drinkable. Are they using straight lemon juice instead of lemonade? Crazy bad. So I ended up paying for a lunch I didn’t eat much of and a horrible drink. Woohoo. Not going back.

I’ve been hearing a lot about Chow from my coworkers as a nice but not over the top place to go for lunch. It has a nice selection of American food, and it tastes pretty good. I’ve been there twice now over the years. I like the interior décor and the patio seating. The service is polite and on a relaxed pace. But it’s a solid 3.5 stars. Virgin cocktails are a little pricey for me, the fries are a little over salted, and the Chinese chicken salad was a little overdressed. It will remain a place I go to for a work lunch… when work is paying.

In short, Chow feels typical American New with the prices to match(meaning high). Okay flavors, but a bit slow during peak lunch/dinner times. But good if you’re there to chat and hang out. I’ve come to Chow several times in the past and well the first time I ever went to a Chow was in SF at Golden Gate Park. I had the lamb burger and it blew my mind. BLEWMYMIND. It was the first time I actually liked lamb. Well when Chow opened in Danville near work, I just had to try it. Of course I didn’t feel like it tasted the same, but it wasn’t bad… but let’s start by talking about my latest experience here last night. We came around 6pm and good thing because it was packed within half an hour to an hour. They have a few long tables and booths and a lot of smaller tables that can seat up to 3 comfortably. We were basically told to sit anywhere when we arrived though it was hard to figure out where to stand and know who was the host/hostess. We sat down and waited a little time until someone finally approached us for drink orders, we first got our waters and then figured out what we wanted. We then again played the waiting game until we finally got to order. Again I get it, it’s prime dinner time, but it was definitely a long wait to get our drinks and our food. I would say drinks came in after 15 minutes… then food in half an hour? But again, we were there for our own little get together to catch up so I didn’t mind too much. Their menu is pretty good and accommodates some special diets like vegetarians, gluten free items, etc. They have normal non alcoholic drinks, special cocktails, wines, beers both draft and bottled, and some interesting virgin cocktails. In terms of food, it goes from appetizers, salads, sandwiches/burgers, pizza, pasta, and main meals/entrees. I decided on the«sustainable fish» tacos which you can get either battered/fried or grilled… ooooor both! You get two. There are two prices on the menu which basically is the dinner and lunch prices. $ 17 for two fish tacos and fries felt a bit much. So was it worth it? I didn’t think so. They were both well made, flavorful, but felt like I could get these fish tacos at any Mexican restaurant for a fraction of the price. The fries were not bad, but not memorable either. The beer I ended up getting was enjoyable and gave me a good buzz(yes, I’m that weak). It was called Buzzerkeley for a reason! Our server was very nice and I know she was quite busy. They also didn’t push us out even though we were done so it was nice to not be rushed. Sometimes it’s a nice treat once in a while and nice if you’re doing a catch up, but not good if you’re in a rush.

I’ve never been a huge fan of Chow – maybe of the atmosphere and location of the restaurant, but maybe thats just because I grew up attending the Blockbuster video that used to be here. In all seriousness, its a nice location, very awesome atmosphere with good bar tending, halfway decent service, and nice indoor/outdoor seating. Do note that I have a weakness for brick! Anyways, on to the food. In my opinion this place is way overpriced(but then again where isn’t in Danville, besides maybe Lotsa Pasta) for the quality of food they serve up. The food isn’t by by any means but its nothing great, at all. I have had the skirt steak over fries, and a couple different egg dishes. Also the chicken sandwich. I’d really only want to go here for Brunch/Breakfast, but thats because you can’t really go wrong in that department unless you’re cooking with your eyes clothes. Any who, stop by for a drink or if you’re looking for a nice place to have a halfway decent dinner.

I love this place’s lasagna and ambiance, but the prices are a bit ridiculous and ordering an arnold palmer for $ 2.75(or was it $ 3.75?) always makes me cringe. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t any refills on that one either, but I can’t remember. Don’t get any of their seafood plates, my friend always orders the seafood linguine and the more she orders it, the fishier the seafood tastes, in that stale«defrosted for too long out in the open» kind of way. Will be coming back, but only when I’m feeling lavish and can afford a $ 20 lunch without cringing.

The more you know… $ 3.50 for a simple cup of coffee? WHAT? Free refills of course. **Update — See the Manager’s note below. If you’re interested in local, artisan coffee, then the price shouldn’t matter. I have a problem paying this price for any brewed coffee. Before going in, I decided to stop by La Boulange to get a Café Au Lait because I thought Chow’s Chai Latte was a bit too expensive(what I would normally get). The boyfriend, however, did get their house coffee and it was $ 3.50. WHY? There are two coffee shops less than 100 yards from this location that sell lattes and mochas in that same price range. Bring in your own from Peet’s, La Boulange, I think Lunardi’s even serves coffee. The boyfriend and I were at Chows this morning for breakfast and got my favorite Marion’s pancake + Fried Chicken, biscuit, sausage, and gravy. Today’s Marion Pancake featured some raspberry sauce and barely any marscapone cheese — as if they just quickly slapped it together. I had to ask for more. That being said, we’ve been to this location quite a number of times and there’s nothing spectacular about their lunch/dinner menu(see previous review). This place is good for breakfast/brunch. — Marion’s Ricotta Pancakes — LOVE — Fried chicken biscuit and gravy dish($ 11.50) — Wasn’t quite what we expected, but still delicious. — Eggs Benedict — LOVE — Coffee? Meh. Kudos to the waitstaff. The boyfriend spilled his creamer today and the waitress grabbed a bus boy right away to clean it up.

Had a great lunch at Chow in Danville. This place is SUPER cute inside. Since there are lots of pictures of the food, I decided to put some pics of the inside of the restaurant. It has kind of a new, modern, rustic San Fransisco feel to it. Lots of tables in a HUGE dining room. They even have a tree growing in the middle of the dining room under a big sun roof! Our server was great. He was really tall, so try to get him if you can! I was with my wife and mother in law on this adventure and as you might imagine, there were a million questions not only about the menu, but about what substitutions could be made… Our server was great about patiently answering all of their questions and granting them all of their wishes. As quirky as they were… I had the lunch special which was grilled Mahi Mahi over a lentil mash. The fish was fresh and flaky. Perfectly grilled. Complete with grill marks and everything! The lentils were very flavorful. My mother in law got the pancake with Blueberry sauce. It was huge and delicious! Especially the blueberry sauce. Breakfast seems to be their best meal, but I had a great lunch meal. Can’t wait to come back!
