I love this place. We had the Godzilla roll and the fish tasted fresh and good texture. The«hotel California» is another favorite! The grade of sushi was excellent. Evelyn the owner is a sweetheart always making sure we enjoyed our food and our drinks were replenished. The ambiance is nice, low lighting in bar with blue lighting on bar wall. They have all the nice touches like fresh flowers, hand muddled cocktails and friendly staff! I highly recommend this place.

Enjoyed my time at Yo’s! Price:$ 13-$ 20 rolls Cocktails = GREAT!(get the Peach Pleasure) Salmon Egg Rolls = Delicious Sushi Rolls =g ood, but not fresh. Pieces are big and they offer lots of different flavors but if you’re looking for fresh fish, this is not the place. Ambiance = Fun! Nice lighting/décor. Can get loud with large groups because the place is pretty small but I didn’t feel cramped. Service = Amazing! Both our waitress and the bartender came to check on us regularly with a smiling face. Our waitress was really nice and she commented that the amount of sushi we ordered would be a lot. HA! She wasn’t wrong but we also regretted nothing. Parking: Street parking which is limited but there’s a parking lot right around the corner Overall: I’d go back. Thought it was a little pricey and the fish didn’t taste fresh to me but the drinks were great and I’d like to try other things on the menu!

I’m writing this review mainly on the drinks at the bar. Very generous and delicious drinks. The bartenders/owners are amazing and very personable. I could tell that they have a ton of repeat clients and it’s truly a place«where everyone know your name». Very welcoming environment and a good place for drinks(higher end alcohol)! Highly recommended. Will definitely be back!

Don’t come here unless you are a local, the staff was extremely snobby. The bartender rushed us out so the men standing behind us could sit. Couldn’t even enjoy my meal knowing that she didn’t want us there. The restaurant is super small not much room for sitting. The sushi however was good.

I dropped by this establishment on the good advice of a friend, and I was not disappointed! The dining area is comfortable and intimate, great for dinner with friends and family, or for a casual date. My friend suggested I try the wonton soup, and I suggest that as well, very good! I had the C.J. Roll, spicy tuna topped with scallops and tobiko. The sushi rice could have had a bit less vinegar, but it was good nonetheless. The owner was very welcoming and warm, I really felt at home here, and I very much look forward to coming back.

Would probably return here only because of the lack of decent Asian restaurants in this town. Miso soup was very good. Pot stickers– I’ve had better. ribs-way too tough and stringy. Green beans were bland, even though the heat was there-they were clearly not salted during blanching. I found myself adding salt, yes, adding salt in an Asian restaurant… I know, weird. Pork belly buns were okay, pork could have been more tender. The menu is so big that its overwhelming. I feel that if they did half the amount of dishes and just focused on doing them really well, it might go better, The atmosphere and location are good, albeit a little noisy inside.

Had a great Valentine date with my wife here. The ambience is cozy and adult with a hint of casual an fun, yet wit that dimmed lights mood. The cocktail menu is fun an diverse. We tried 3 and liked them all. I love the fact that they have a Dim Sum as part of their menu. Everything we ate had great flavor, large portions and reasonable prices. Our sushi roll was large and flavorful; there many appetizing options. This would be a 5⁄5 rating instead of a 4⁄5 except for a couple service issues. The server was later than we’re used to start service especially since the restate as only a quarter full. It was also slow to close out our ticket as there was a mistake. Charge only brought to our attention after my card was mistakenly charged. Overall, we recommend this as a fun date meal spot and we plan to return.

I ate dinner here this evening and what I can tell you is that the Sushi Rolls at this eatery are amazing. I had the spicy tuna roll and it was incredible. The staff is incredibly helpful with the service being very good. The ambiance of of this eatery if very casual and it is located in a very nice part of Old Town Danville with many charming shops surrounding this place. I highly recommend that you consider eating here. What a very creative menu of Asian Fusion foods with a touch of elegant presentation of the food. The biggest challenge is that in the evenings finding parking can be challenging.

Fish is not as fresh, rolls are big pieces mostly because of the rice. Too much rice and too much vinegar in the rice. Most rolls are spicy or have spicy sauce(tells you something about the quality). Har gow is not fresh, shrimp is ok but the skin is mushy. Definitely one of those Unilocal finds where it’s only good for it’s location, I really don’t expect great sushi or Asian food to come out of Danville.

Dined here tonight and we were not impressed. I think we’ve pretty much tried every Japanese restaurant in Danville and Surrounding area and I sorry to say, this is the worst sushi restaurant I’ve been to. The fish was not fresh, the rolls are mainly rice with little bit of rice inside and very pricy for what you get. We won’t be back!

I make it a point to know(and love!) most sushi restaurants Ina 5 mile radius from myself at any given time. Please note, I have no axe to grind here, nothing made me angry or upset, but the stars are for the following: I read the reviews. I showed up at 7 on a Friday night without a reservation, and I was seated a minute later inside. Impressed, as it was CRAZYCROWDED. Outside? Completely full. The bar? Also full. That,(sadly) is where my happiness died. Drinks took too long to arrive, at least 7 – 10 minutes.(A sake and gin and tonic. Not complicated. Yay full bar?) I fully embraced my apprehension when I saw the HUGE menu… Apps, dim sum, Chinese, a butt-long list of sushi rolls, and like 8 nigiri options. WAhhh waaahhhhmp. My experience reflected my apprehension. We had nigiri. Mediocre cuts of fish in dense, nearly sodden overly seasoned clumps of rice. Props that their ama-ebi was served with full heads, but the darn things were impossible to crunch through, so rock hard and thick. I didn’t indulge, but the husband warns that his Chinese fried chicken was horrible, basically, insert menu item here– that item was bland and not worth having paid for. Which is sad. I finished my review a week after the experience to give it time to see if I was less sad after having spent $ 200 on the meh-est meal ever. Still sad. I will never be back.

Awesome atmosphere. The drinks were fantastic! I had a lemon drop with muddled Jalapeños. My sis and mom had margaritas with muddled jalapeños. A must get!!! The service was wonderful. We snagged a killer patio table looking out on the main strip. The owner came out and said hello and we just really felt we received A+ service! We absolutely come again. The food was great too. I keep coming back and wanted to update my review! Best place in Danville to eat hands down! They have the best service. Owner is fantastic. I crave coming here and they always accommodate us and make us feel so welcome. Plus the food and drinks are beyond compare!

You definitely have to come as a group because the menu is quite extensive and we wanted to try everything. Started with an appetizer, Brussels Sprouts. Very unique and tasty. Plenty to share for six people. Under Fusion Favorites, we divided up the pork belly buns and the Ming’s Mac & Cheese. I typically wouldn’t order the pork buns, but pork«belly» buns is unique. Mac & Cheese was different because of the panko crust. This could be a whole meal. Under classics we had the Honey Walnut Prawns. Good portion to share and done really well. We shared the Salmon skewer. Once again very unique and cooked perfectly. With the skewer they had their version of kimchi. What made it unique was that it had a slight kick. We tried several rolls, the Mully 17, Nicole Roll, Rainbow Roll, and the Phoenix Roll. I like spicy tuna so Mully 17 and the Nicole were my favorites. Rainbow roll was pretty standard, but they did an excellent job on the Phoenix. I’m not sure how you would describe this restaurant. They call it an Asian Restaurant, but you are basically combining the best of Chinese and Japanese food. And what you end up with is a very extensive menu., almost too much to choose from. We had the opportunity to meet the co-owner, Evelyn. She is very attentive to all her customers and made our meal that much more enjoyable. The next time we go, we are going to ask Evelyn to order for us.

I love fusion food but you always run the risk of a place trying to do everything and doing nothing. Unfortunately that’s exactly what happened. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quite nice. We were seated outside on a nice day but the interior was modern and well decorated. The waitress was also very nice and tried her best to keep her eye on us even though we were seated pretty far from everyone else. Everything on the menu looked wonderful and I wanted to try everything and between myself and my 2 friends, I got to try a good deal of the menu: Tempura(Friend’s): She’s Japanese and was sorely disappointed. I’m not… and was also very disappointed. The batter was light but not done well enough to be crispy. The insides were very underdone. The piece of broccoli I had tasted half-cooked.(1.5÷5) Flaming Scallops(Mine): Biggest waste of money ever. For $ 14 you get 4 pieces of overcooked scallops in a watery oily sauce. The sauce had some potential to go somewhere but it doesn’t matter when the scallops are chewy.(1⁄5) Hamachi Belly Nigiri(Mine): I actually wanted another fish because hamachi is very commonly served in chirashi’s and I wanted a fish that isn’t normally served in a dish I get all the time. Unfortunately they were out of what I wanted and the waitress suggested the Hamachi Belly instead. I was hoping for a nice rich piece of belly but instead it was a meh cut(with a bone in it still I might add) served on some rice that didn’t taste like sushi rice(tasted like normal white rice). The slice was fairly large but still not worth the $ 6.(1⁄5) Ming’s Mac & Cheese: I checked Unilocal before ordering it and most reviews were fairly positive so I took a chance. The chinese sausage goes well with it but the dish itself was poorly made. Mac and cheese normally has a cream sauce with cheese stirred in to make it creamy, the one here was like a half-version of this. The cheese wasn’t well infused and instead you get giant pools of oil and large stringy chunks of cheese. The panko crust was sprinkled on top and quickly heated but honestly they didn’t add anything to the dish.(2⁄5) Chicken Teriyaki: My personal favorite. A bit expensive for what you get but the presentation is nice. Everyone at our table it doesn’t taste like your typical teriyaki though. The sauce was slightly burned but I actually thought it gave the sauce an interesting kick.(3.5÷5) Overall just a disappointing experience especially since my hopes were extra high from the nice atmosphere, menu choices, and nice service.

Food: good, nothing outstanding that I just couldn’t pass up next time. Dragon Balls were the best thing we had. Drinks: ok. I skipped ordering a second. I usually do so that tells you something. The cocktail menu just wasn’t exciting enough. Atmosphere: pretty cas, moderate noise level Service: poor at best. Don’t send the waitress away for sure — you’ll never get her back. We needed a minute — she gave us 10 at least.

We took a chance going here… our decision was based entirely on the Unilocal reviews. We all left pretty happy. Thanks Unilocal and Unilocal reviewers! The appetizer recommended by our server, the fish tartar was awesome(himachi, tuna, avocado, sauce mixed at our table and served with taro chips). What a great way to start the meal. So delicious. Then we had the Mongolian beef, walnut prawns, poke, brussels sprouts and sushi roll. Since we didn’t ask for them to l come out at the same time, we ended up sharing everything. That ended up being such a great idea cause that meant we all got to try everything. Now that was a double, triple, quadruple yum! All were very fresh, flavorful and heavenly.

My wife and I are huge fans of this place for several reasons: great tasting and large sushi rolls, great service, great ambiance and always a great dining experience. I’m a big fan because it’s a mix of sushi, Chinese food dishes and their own spin on several dishes(try the panko brussel sprouts!) so if you’re not in the mood for sushi there are many other fantastic options. My go to fave is the Mongolian beef, with extra spicy sauce, but the ahi pizza is another gem(I posted a photo). This is a great date night spot but it’s definitely kid friendly and there’s families there every time we go. Pricing is consistent with other sushi places but I feel you get more value with the large rolls packed with fresh meat. Fave sushi rolls: Spanish eye, Godzilla, Nicole roll, jalapeño jumper.

Came here for lunch for the first time. From the back parking lot on Railroad, the restaurant looks like a house! The menu featured a number of interesting sushi rolls, Chinese Classics, Asian Fusion, and dim sum appetizers. We ordered two dishes that turned out pretty good and one that was pretty flawed — so three stars overall. Service was great and they gave free edamame and miso soup. Both were decent. Grandpa’s Pot Stickers were four per order and beautifully prepared and presented well. Juicy minced pork filling surrounded by a nice chewy skin and slightly charred bottom which was nice. Excellent dipping sauce and nice chili sauce in the shape of a heart(or Hartz for Danville) I got the Tao Tacos — two pretty good sized cod tacos with a nice tangy dressing and a mango salsa that gave it a nice zing. Good crunchy slaw too. We were really happy so far and then… My wife ordered Mongolian Beef from the Classics menu. Yikes! One of the worst versions we’ve had — soft, borderline gooey beef thats more sweet than spicy — devoid of any texture, wok breath, and spiciness. Quality far below Crispy Fry and Great China. If I do return, it will be to try their cocktails or order from the fusion menu only. The classics are best left to say, the classical Asian places.

You know that feeling at the end of a meal of complete euphoria? That fantastic feeling that both you AND the restaurant were spot on in both the ordering and preparation? Yo’s for me was like that. A complete and total, «I love you and can’t wait to go back» feeling. My husband had the godzilla roll(12 pieces of goodness), we shared a chinese chicken salad and I had the teriyaki chicken. All generous portions, all delicious. Ambience, check. Nice Menu, check. Pleasant service, check. Delicious and worth every morsel, check. Oh and to the teriyaki burger I saw being delivered to some other patrons across the restaurant… don’t think I didn’t see you… I’ll be back for you soon.
