Came here with my family. Food was excellent and our server Paul was even better! Great experience. If you’re here in Dartmouth MA, CHECKITOUT! You won’t be disappointed.

Unfortunately the food was over cooked and not as palatable as I would have liked. I had eaten hear about a year ago and during that time the food was exquisite unfortunately this was not the case this time.

I truly enjoy this restaurant. It helps that there is a location less than 10 minutes from where I live. On Wednesday’s this location does $ 1.00 shucked oysters until they run out. It’s not just at the bar, but you can have them brought tableside. I ordered 12 to start along with one of their new drink offerings: Pomegranate Passion Martini Crop organic meyer lemon vodka, freshly squeezed lime, agave nectar and all-natural pomegranate juice, rimmed with pomegranate sugar $ 7.99. My dining companion enjoyed a Pineapple Painkiller The virgin islands’ reputed hangover cure, house-infused pineapple rum, cream of coconut, muddled pineapple and freshly squeezed oj, with a sprinkle of nutmeg $ 7.99. Our waiter Paul was very helpful with leading us to make food choices and very good at what he does. We opted for a new menu offering: Bacon-Leek Flatbread applewood smoked bacon, melted leeks and blue cheese, finished with romano cheese and marinated tomatoes $ 10.99. This was as flavorful a flatbread as I’ve had. For the main course we opted to split one of their big salads: Cobb arugula and romaine topped with blue cheese, grilled chicken, country bacon, avocado, grilled corn, tomatoes and eggs $ 15.5. The salad being split was just enough for both of us. We added a glass of Alamos Malbec one of my favorites. We walked away satisfied and full. Laslty, I had an appreciation gift card from last year. Apparently it was for a limited time use. Paul our waiter spoke with management and we were allowed to use it. Why waste $ 15.00. The staff, food, and atmosphere can’t be beat. Try it for yourself.

This is our go-to restaurant. Food is always good, always reliable, creative menu. Wine prices are the best value in town. Usually we have dinner but often have ½ price hors’ deuvres at the bar. Dessert — we’d like to try new stuff but we are too addicted to the Peanut Butter Thing! Service is perfect — they meet your every need. It’s our hometown place and we wouldn’t change a thing!!!

They advertise oysters on Wednesdays, starting at 4pm. This is the second time I’ve gone for dinner time at 6, and they’ve been sold out of oysters. I don’t understand how they can so grossly miscalculate how many oysters to have when this promotion has been going on for months. Running out in 2 hours consistently? CMON! I don’t really care for anything else on their menu, so two wasted trips.

I love NYAJ! The foccacia bread and olive oil they give you to start off is sooo delicious! It’s so hard to resist eating way too much bread before the rest of the order comes out. The almond crusted goat cheese salad is great, and I often order the chicken piccata without the chicken… It’s nice of them to accommodate my request for just wanting the pasta. It’s so good, I love the lemony cream sauce and capers. They have good drinks too like the fireside sangria and offer pitchers. I also really like how they have a number of side dishes and seasonal dishes. One dish that’s definitely a miss is the smoked gouda grilled cheese… sounds way better than it tastes. The tart apple relish and mustard aioli doesn’t work at all with the gouda cheese for me. Other than that though, everything else is a solid choice! The servers are all friendly and helpful when you have questions, and Mike, the manager, is great. One time I had plans to come here for dinner with a friend and called ahead to make a reservation. The lady on the phone was extremely rude in her fluster of the restaurant being busy I’m guessing, but it’s still pretty uncalled for when all I was inquiring about was making a reservation. I didn’t appreciate her attitude and lack of professionalism so when we arrived I decided to inform the manager about my experience. Mike was extremely nice and was glad that I let him know. He offered the next meal for my friend and I on the house! That was so nice of him and I appreciated it a lot! He takes customer service seriously and is very courteous.

This was a fun restaurant. Clean and friendly staff. They make you feel important and the way they present and bring food to you makes you feel important. The food was fantastic. I saw the pictures online and assumed they were professionally taken, but I was mistaken once my food came out. It was amazing! They have a fantastic gluten free menu with lots of options. You can also get gluten free bread. Overall, the food was great, service great, atmosphere fun and I would go back.

Just have to say. quite disappointed with this place. Ate here plenty of times knowing that they have unique pizzas and it was good at first but they seem to lack«love» or something in it because it tasted nothing but BLAND on most of everything I had in this place. I ordered a few pizzas, steak tip meal, nachos, and a burger for my family and I. The burgers were pretty good. cant complain about it and have the right amount of seasoning. cant say much anything else about it nachos. omg. why would they call these nachos? it was such a tiny portion for $ 10 and I would expect to have a full plate of scattered chips with cheese and all spread out. But no. It was bascially circular, cut into halves with a layer of cheese on each. There was probably only 6 pieces of circular tortilla chips that I’m splitting with my family of 10. Perhaps this place really wants to stick out with their version because after all, its not a sports bar. Steak tips meal. BLAAAAAND!!! couldnt be anymore disappointed because I expect to make every steak meal to taste better than how I make it, but no, not even close. the green beans werent far off from flavor and so were the mash potatoes. It really seemed like they dont know how to use seasoning. Pizza. I felt it downgraded dramatically. The toppings were good as always, but the dough and sauce itself is also bland like crazy, little ceasers had more flavor than that. You would have a nice piece of pizza, chewing your way to the end until you hit the crust and it tasted like absolute nothing! Im actually one of those people who love eating the crust in every pizza, thats actually how I judge if the pizza is good. Im only giving it two stars because the service was well and the price is decent. But they wont be hearing from me for a while.

I have never had a bad meal here. This is the original nya joes and i always find it to be the best. The food and ingredients are fresh and made to order, the staff is always friendly and i always note how nice the food is plated. They vary the menu seasonally which is jice to try new items but also makes me miss old favorites.

I have been to Not Your Average Joes time and time again and I always have a pleasant dining experience there. I typically prefer going for lunch because the prices are a little cheaper and the portions aren’t huge. One of the many nifty things about Joes is that they have an entire gluten free menu right down to the free bread at the beginning of your meal, I thought that was pretty awesome. They also have a special menu that changes every month that includes signature cocktails, appetizers, entrees and dessert. Joes has such a wide variety of tasty, fresh, wholesome cousine and they are definitely worth taking a trip inside. Or if you’d rather do takeout you can call or place an order on their app which is very easy to use.

I truly believe that Joes is consistently one of the best places to get a delicious bang for a reasonable price. in no way am I saying that it’s «cheap», but a lovely meal is always delivered for under $ 20 per entrée. I always will suggest the mustard crusted chicken, the mango buffalo chicken pizza, the ahi wontons, and whatever the seasonal sangria is. today was the harvest sangria and it was better than any of the others I have tried. tonight was my first time at this particular location, which is the smallest one I have been to. although it was small, the décor was cute and quaint and we were seated right away. our server was attentive, friendly and overall a lovely server. she suggested I try the chicken picatta for the first time which was another lovely dish that I would definitely recommend. we started with the tomato basil and clam chowder soups as appetizers and they were both quite good. the chowder was a bit too bacon-y for my taste, but filled with lots of clam and potatoes. my friend had the shrimp scampi from the special seasonal menu which was one of the best scampis I have had. I wish they would add it to the regular menu!

Consistently delicious food. Fantastic interpretations of some standard fare such as meatloaf. Service is always top notch also. Highly recommend

This place has some of the most friendly, helpful, and knowledgable staff I have seen. I was lucky enough to get a history lesson from our waitress Sue. Both her and the manager Greg were extremely accommodating. The gluten free menu is quite extensive, and even include GF buns. The food is pretty good and the prices are right. I’d probably rate this place a 3, however the staff and the atmosphere really make this place deserve the extra 2 stars. I’ll be back for sure.

Love this spot. Always go with the Mona Lisa salad, but when I go for something else, it’s always delicious. Did have one experience where my sweet potato was not cooked all the way through and the staff/management handled it perfectly. There’s a reason why this place is always busy — it’s consistently awesome.

Gluten Free Freedom! So it’s my first time at one of these restaurants and we are seated with not only regular menus but a Gluten Free menu too — didn’t even have to ask. And, this menu isn’t the typical«salad with poached chicken» type of gluten freeness. No, no. This has apps, salads, entrees galore.(I had the Ahi Tuna Salad which was just perfect and delicious.) Did I mention that they have Glutenberg Beer on the menu? Ice cold glass… this stuff is the best gluten free beer around so I didn’t feel like I was missing out when the rest of the table ordered Sam Adams Summer Ale(my olde favorite from 10 years ago…) Our waitress was intuitively attentive and friendly, could not have asked for a better server. Cute little survey comes with the check — nothing like getting that feedback before the customer gets out the door! My son moved to New Bedford last fall so I will definitely be going back to this Joe’s!

This was our first time at this location. Previously we have visited the Seekonk location. We made reservations for 6 people and the table was ready and waiting on our arrival. Reservations are a must here as the dining room is on the small side and fills up quick on most nights. The server(who I forgot to get her name) was excellent. The food was generally OK. All of the food came out in a reasonable timeframe and cooked to spec. The only comment on the food was the fries had no seasoning at all on them, not even salt or pepper. I’m sure this was an oversight and I don’t mind seasoning to taste at the table. Overall everyone had a good time and we would definately visit again in the future.

My mother is GF and soy free. She doesn’t really enjoy going out to eat, since she typically can’t trust to eat anything out. Unfortunately, not many people understand food allergies. NYAJ understands. Not only do they offer an entire gluten free menu, that is equally as big as the normal menu, but they also serve GF bread. They really have it all. Given this, on mother’s day, my mom chose to come here. We piled in the cars and schlepped over to Dartmouth. I have been here many times, and it seems like the inside has never changed. It is funky, colorful, fun, vibrant. It is interesting. I have always enjoyed the décor. I have been coming to this location for many many years, since they first opened. The one thing I can say that changed, is ever since they have franchised and opened many more stores, it seems to becoming less unique and more like another Applebee’s. Their bread used to have a special kick, the food used to taste creative and fun. I think they were ahead of the times and now everyone else has caught up so it blends in more. It still is «not your average», but something just isn’t the same. I will note that their menu is very fun and creative. It has a lot of options, that are unique and very flavorful. The combinations are artsy and the actual presentation is like a piece of art, gourmet. I also like that their menu changes twice a year. There were many things I wanted to try and the menu was very appealing. I wanted every single drink on the menu! My mom got a cosmo, my dad a mojito, me a berry burst and the rest of the family got root beers. It was perfect for Annie, as she could run from the table to the door and could keep busy. The service was very fast and otherwise unremarkable. Of course my mom never had a sip of her cosmo, so I got a few extra drops of the OH. Thankfully though, because my drink tasted like it had no alchohol in it. The bread/dip is very good, but it didn’t have the cheese/seasonings on it like I am used to. I got a cod special that was cooked to the T, but not anything very memorable. They also didn’t give me lemon. I was so hungry that by the time my dad asked the waitress for me, I was already done eating. She did end up bringing it though. Everyone else’s food was well liked and eaten fully, but we agreed at the end that for the price of the food/drinks, it wasn’t worth our trip«off island». I still like the concept and food at NYAJ, but I think it lost some of the charm from my memory. **After thought. I will say that I had originally given my experience a 3. I thought a lot about this and felt bad for my rating. I feel that although my most recent experience was a 3, and I really feel that it has changed. However, I am changing it to a 4 as the manager’s comment did point out we have been lifelong customers, and there is a reason that we keep coming back. because it is «Not your average». I appreciate the managers comment and reflection to the owner, and hope that they can re-instill some of the original uniqueness.
