Yes, they –sort of still-have Andres, a fantastic Zumba Instructor, but for a month? now he has another job and he shows up for classes WHENEVER; the girls in front don’t answer the phone, forcing you to drive to the Ft. Lauderdale or the Davie location just to be told that somebody else is teaching, even though their website says he is teaching that day! I have been dancing Zumba for years and although I am a long time 24 Hours Fitness member –which have Zumba classes every day-, I bought 10 classes just so I can attend Andres’ Zumba classes I have driven three times already to both locations, wasting gas and time just to be told he was not there! Casa Salsa must find out when he is teaching and post it on their website with enough time to allow people to go! So far I have attempted going 5 times and only ONCE he taught the class.

BESTSCHOOLEVER! I love the system they(we) use for teaching. Definitely recommend it. Taught there for one whole year before I moved to NYC. Best teaching experience. I’ve taught for many schools.

This place was awful. My hubby and I purchased 3 months worth of lessons after we were talked into it and after one lesson we knew it was a huge mistake but they wouldn’t refund us. We eventually stopped going so it was a huge waste but we went for a month or so. I’m a decent salsa dancer, but I wanted my husband to up his game for our wedding. First, it is unbearably crowded, second, they make you rotate partners every few seconds. On the website it says you don’t have to rotate, but the instructor said we had to and made a huge deal about it and it was very uncomfortable for us. They only teach you one ‘move’ a week and only teach a total of 4 ‘moves’ and start over. Every class starts at square 1, so you’re not building on any skills, it’s like every class starts over. It was such a waste and a poor method for learning. I’ve been to a lot of salsa classes and have never seen one this bad. Also, they teach a weird style, I believe on 1 style. I have danced salsa all over and have never seen anyone in a social environment dance with this timing. If you are trying to learn salsa to dance at social events, this is the absolute last place I would go. What a waste of money.

Casa Salsa provided me with a positive experience, great dance instruction and a lot of fun. I have been to each of Casa Salsa’s studios many times over the past year and a half for salsa and bachata lessons and I even participated in Showcase My Passion(an event for people who want to learn a routine and perform it on a stage). I was almost a total beginner when I first came to them and I was nervous that I wouldn’t feel comfortable, but I quickly realized the instructors just want you to feel comfortable and have fun while you learn– and they did an excellent job at providing an environment for that. The lessons begin with the basics– the most important and essential part to getting good enough to tackle the intermediate and advanced lessons later on. I improved significantly and instructors were always happy to answer every question that I had and always helped a lot with any difficulties I experienced. I met awesome people and did awesome things here. The membership was a good value and Showcase My Passion was also a great experience and success that I would highly recommend. If you want to improve your dancing, interact with new people, get a new hobby or just have some fun– I’d recommend Casa Salsa.

Casa Salsa is my happy place! No, I have not tried their salsa lessons… yet. I plan to very soon. This review is for their Zumba classes. I know, I know. Zumba can have this«cheesy» stigma attached to it and it saddens me. There are so many different types of classes and instructors here in South Florida. Yes, some can be cheesy(hate when that happens) and I am the first to walk out if that’s the case(I am extremely picky about classes and instructors). For the record, I don’t just like to dance. I have 27 years of dance background under my belt(danced, taught and coached). That being said, I have nothing but praise for both of their instructors Andres and Rogers. Nothing cheesy here! These guys are a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Zumba Fitness is extremely high energy cardio in a party-like environment to Latin beats. Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue, Reggae, Reggaeton, Bachata, and Hip-Hop(to name a few) are all seamlessly threaded into your 60 minute workout. You follow the instructors movements and before you know it, you burned off last night’s dinner(and then some). Oh yeah, all while having fun. Yes, fun. The key to a good class is always the instructors. Andres and Rogers have endless amount of energy. You can choose how high you want to take it. If it’s too much you can just do a modified version of a step or take a break. Some of the songs are ridiculously fast paced(over 160BPM) and require tricky feet work, but again, you can go at your own pace. I love a good challenge and non-stop cardio for an hour is right down my alley. I swear it doesn’t feel like a workout and I always feel amazing afterwards. Casa Salsa offers a pay per class method or you can buy a class card and save a bit. Once in a while, they also offer special deals. I am hooked and look forward to this every single week. If you live in the area, don’t bother anywhere else. This is the place to be!

So I went to this location for a little Salsa intro with my sister. Neither of us have the latin blood running through our veins naturally(no matter how much I choose to deny that as truth, it is), so this was going to be interesting. Seeing that it was our first time, the staff was very friendly and welcoming and did everything to calm any pre existing nerves for all us newbies. About a little more than half the class had been attending, and the remainder of us were all new. They were running a promotion for 10 dollars and get one week of as many classes as you want for free. I thought it was a good deal considering one individual class is normally more than that itself. So as we took our places, our instructor started to go through the basic step, and after we «mastered» that we then moved on to faster(I do not use that word lightly) things. Each salsa class they go through the basic step and then add a specific move for us to master(a different one every class). They have the girls and the guys line up and switch every minute or so on a rotation, so you’re not stuck with the worst or paired with the best for the whole time. Overall it was good system, the staff has lots of energy, and it was a fun atmosphere. I will say that I personally prefer the way the guy explains the steps more than the way the girl did, but that’s just a preference. Easier for me to catch on. Nos vemos pronto Casa Salsa! Hopefully soon I’ll have the world convinced I’ve got Latin blood in me after all…
