It has taken me years to reach this conclusion … and to feel«inspired» enough to write a bad review. The«last straw» incident that prompted this review was the clear, arbitrary refusal of Stork’s staff to honor a simple coupon. But honestly, I was reluctant to accept the coupon(from a friend) because, after a series of «bad impressions,» the coupon was the ONLY reason I had returned to Stork’s. The staff CAN be friendly, but more often than not, they appear overworked and reluctant to greet new customers. They sometimes aren’t forthcoming about pricing, «don’t know» simple things about standard menu items, and often I feel that I must be exuding«slap me» vibes to the staff. However, I must say that it usually seems that the people around me are enjoying THEIR experience. So maybe it IS just me. The display-case food does not look freshly prepared, and I once witnessed a customer actually discovering mold on one of the display cakes … something the staff should have noticed before displaying it(don’t you think?). BOTTOMLINE: Sorry, but I can’t just keep going back to a business that treats me badly, serves questionable food, and overcharges. And, very sorry, but I can’t feel sorry enough to reward bad service with good tips. The ONE thing I may be tempted to go back for: the amaretti cookies … They are DELICIOUS, and I have yet to find them anywhere else. But I will try to.

2 stars is being nice. I had a bad experience with the guy in charge right off the bat before even attempting to buy food. This review is mainly to show what to expect before even eating. I walk in and ask the girl behind the counter where the restroom was. She was friendly and pointed me in the right direction. I walk into the restroom to clean my hands and face because it was hot outside and I was sweaty. Inside were 2 hispanic employees just chatting in a bathroom and they even commented something inappropriate about me in spanish which I was mature enough to ignore. As I leave the batroom and walk down the narrow hall some man stands in my way blocking me from moving and asks me if something is wrong. I tell him everything is fine and he makes an annoyed face like I inconvenienced him by being in a positive mood I go look at the food display and he barges in front of me again very rudely to tell the girl at the counter something about someone they are maybe hiring. No apologies, he doesn’t even aknowlegde he cut me off and as I look a little surprised at this MANAGERS behavior he walks to the register and hands me a business card and told me I should apply online as he makes a hand gesture showing me where the door is. Since I felt like my money wasn’t wanted or needed there I finally snapped. I told him,“I walked in here as a paying customer curious to to try you guys out, not apply for a job.” I ripped the card in front of him and said if this is how you treat customers, then I feel bad for your employees as I walked out the door. He yelled hey wait for who knows what reason, to apologize or to continue being the tough guy who doesnt have a care in the world. I didn’t care. The food looked very good and thats the only reason this place gets 2 stars. Shame some idiot didn’t give me a chance to find out for sure but all he did was ensure I never walk back in there

Geez Louise this bakery is amazing. I want to try literally everything behind the glass and on the counter. The coffee is pretty good too. The wifi is free but you need a password to use it. There are plenty of Nova students there studying but its seldom packed. The bad thing is…(after visiting a few days during finals) I dont know that the baked items are«fresh» the sales people didnt tell me when exactly they were prepared which makes me hesitant to try anything more than the cookie and sandwich i already had.

expensive and rather bland tasting pastries. Better can be had at your local publix bakery

The worst coffee shop ever! There’s a policy on the door that says you can’t stay too long. Hello to the owner: do u not know people go to a coffee shop to read or study most of the times. Then while my friend and I are there she has a section w comfortable sofas and she says that you are not suppose to sit there unless a group of then. Ok u silly owner it was EMPTY!!! Worst place ever! Never again! I would give it 0 stars but Unilocal doesn’t let me. So I only gave 1 bc I had to. STAYAWAYFROMTHECAKEDISPLAYANDSTAYAWAYFROMTHEICECREAM. ITISSOOLDITHASFREEZERBURN. Good food, free Wi-Fi, Student discounts, nice coffee, amazing pastries and overall a nice ambience. What more can one want from a neighborhood café — Oh yes — unobtrusive wonderful service. My family has decided to visit here a few times every month simply because of the fresh and healthy food. With the weather getting better — this is a simple nice hangout place.

I came here for the first time this weekend and let me tell you that the service here was very pleasant. The only concern that I had is that it took a while for the food to come out. I do think that the food here is a little over priced, but I still always support the local restaurants/bakery because they are not a large branch that get a lot of support. This place is pleasant to be in, they have free wi-fi too! A nice little area outside to sit in.

Food is blech; is coffee is great. Their ice cream isn’t bad either. Their empanadas however are the worst I have ever tried. The salads are blech. Their food is overpriced since most of it is digusting, overcooked or cold. Love the fact they have s’mores coffee and the hostesses are very ice.

Great cookies with some good salads and sandwiches, though I wouldn’t call them Incredible. The service and staff are great, and the place is usually pretty quiet and has free wifi. Great place for studying.

I like this place, although I soo wished I liked it more. It’s a small little trendy bakery/restaurant that serves sandwiches, salads, coffee and tons of bakery items. It’s right across from NSU’s main Davie campus, good for us students. I do come here a bunch because it’s convenient for a quick lunch. However I always feel that it’s too pricey for the food it offers. A sandwich doesn’t come with anything on the side, which may just be a personal pet peeve of mine. Plus, as a vegetarian my sandwiches are pretty plain hence should be cheap. I will say they use fresh ingredients there. As for the bakery, I haven’t tried much but it all looks delicious. My experiences aren’t always negative there, I promise. They are friendly and the coffee and tea hit the spot. It does have a cool studying environment and really nice outside seating. I’m still in search of a menu item that gets me raving. I know I’ll find it. Beth’s Tip: Keep away from the low fat brownie, it was a bad call :(

Stork’s has truly friendly staff, who, in their quirky way, really seem invested in the business. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy a coffee and I hear the food is good as well. However, I would warn against eating anything from the cake display. Even the store associate mentioned that sometimes the items get that refrigerator taste. I had the Red Velvet cake and indeed, it tasted like fridge. Too bad really since the cakes look sooooo good. They do have some delicious non-refrigerated desserts as well, so I would stick to those.

Stork’s is a great restaurant across the street from NSU in Davie. Although it is a bakery/café, they serve incredible salads and sandwiches. I have had the Greek Salad with Chicken, Caprese Salad with Chicken, and the Cobbster. All had a huge portion of salad on fresh greens and ample amounts of protein. Great deal for under $ 10 in my opinion. I have also ordered a bunch of cannolis from the bakery to take back to my office, and they were also incredible. Free Wi-fi is also available for customers, and there are usually a bunch of students wtih laptops here. It’s a great place to grab a bite to eat with a friend or alone as there are plenty of lone diners/internet users here. In addition, Stork’s has a NSU faculty/staff discount with ID.
