Breakfast food was good — French toast was awesome however seeing employees ordering food for lunch from a different vendor made me little suspicious — it’s a decent place but needs serious remodeling cmon people we are now in 21st century

What a difference this place is vs. the drive through wedding chapel this building used to be for! Vienna Wine Café is one of the best restaurants in central Broward. I’ve been eating here for years but as of the last few I’ve only visited for Thanksgiving, which is one of the best Thanksgiving restaurant meals you can eat anywhere. Try the Escargot, it is one of the best locally. Bottomless mimosas on the weekend and a nice traditional and non traditional breakfast menu make for a great weekend start as well. The location is a small building but I’d call it cozy before calling it a tight fit, they really do their best with what they have its a great atmosphere, you can even dine on the patio. You really wouldn’t expect a great dining experience in this plaza but you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise!

Went there last night with friends. Had a reservation and were seated quickly. Took 10 minutes for anyone to come to the table and acknowledge we were there and offer water. Want bread at your table? Apparently you have to ask for it. The appetizers, salads and soup were good, but took a long time to come out. Our entrees took forever. Finally had to ask if our food was almost ready. Then it miraculously appeared. Food was excellent, but service was awful. Probably will not return.

Vienna Café and Wine Bar has been on my radar forever and finally I got the chance to check them out for brunch. The overall experience is probably 3.5 stars(due to service) but I’ll round up to 4 stars since there were a few highlights. I had made a reservation via Open Table which probably wasn’t necessary, but I could tell this pleased the hostess and made her life less stressful, so go the reservation route. We we promptly shown to our table and greeted by Jerry who said he would be our server. I asked Jerry about their ACYD specials and if that included switching back and forth between mimosas and bloody marys. He said it had to be one or the other, but would allow me to sneak in one Bloody. Jerry gets 5 stars from me! However, after my Bloody Mary arrived we never saw Jerry again and somehow had another server who definitely didn’t give off the same friendly attitude. Waters also went empty and the whole experience somewhat declined for me after that. Ok, back to the good. ACYD mimosas meant champagne and OJ on table so I could mix my own to my liking. 5 stars for that, however I saw other tables had their bottles on ice, but not us… For food I opted for the duck hash, which was truly outstanding! My brother went with the crispy french toast which was probably the best french toast I’ve ever had! My mother ordered the tomato benedict but was brought out the regular eggs benedict. We didn’t bother to note this to our server(she was hard enough to find anyways), and although the hollandaise sauce was good, the overall dish was a bit blah. Overall I would come back… giving me the option to mix my own mimosas is a plus for me, and for $ 15ACYD I was pretty happy. The atmosphere in here is a bit dated however and I got the feeling that getting too loud or having fun in here is a bit frowned upon. Since we were celebrating Christmas early we brought some Christmas crackers and were wearing the hats, which didn’t seem to get us any smiles…

The restaurant is great and a classic. I love that it is a neighborhood sort of place and that Mr. Jacobsen will visit your table and ensure you are happy. The staff are incredibly professional and available in my experience. They are approachable for special orders and concerns, and always make the client feel welcome and respected. This is unfortunately the exception and not the rule in our society of often less than appropriate behavior. It appears that this restaurant has established itself and stands out as a favorite of many, and with solid reason. Have celebrated many things here, and have always left happy I chose Vienna’s atmosphere and wonderful cuisine as the backdrop for important events in my life and of those close to me. Thanks Vienna! Always a pleasure.

It was our first time at the Vienna Café. The meal was excellent. our waiter, Edward, took great care of us. We started with one of the appetizer specials for the night. It was venison sweetbreads. We have never eaten sweetbreads but the foodies on tv are always raving about them so we gave them a try. It was a generous portion of sweetbreads on toast with a brown gravy made with onions and I believe bacon. Anyways they were delicious. The beef stroganoff was the best I’ve ever had. The meat was so tender. The veal Wiener schnitzel was tender and tasty. The apple strudel with ice cream were perfect. The whole meal was an exceptional dining experience. My only complaint would be the noise level inside but I don’t believe there’s to much they could do about that.

Our visit was flawless, I cannot think of anything I would have liked differently. Our server Stanley was outstanding. The food was delicious, we had NY strip and Lamb chops, with a bottle of wine. The meat was tender and tasted incredible, and was cooked perfectly. We also had a couple of drinks, while we waited for the chocolate soufflé, which were pretty good as well. The soufflé was definitely worth the wait! We will be coming back.

This is my… use to be… favourite restaurant, UNTIL they served me a Bloody Mary with a COCKROACH in it! I had to give them a low review for that and it took me a while to go back, I had to accept this is South Florida and damn bugs are everywhere! I finally did go for one of their wine tastings and it was great. I remembered why it was one of my favourite restaurants. I have never had another bad experience. They do a great bottomless mimosa special on the weekends and monthly wine tastings. The service is always on point and friendly. The food is excellent, well prepared and the menu changes with the seasons to what is available and fresh. I enjoy the mushroom and goat cheese flat bread and always the lamb chops(huge lamb lover over here!). They use to do an excellent Lychee Martine, but recently changed the receipt, not so good anymore, but you can ask for the old style and they will still make it for you! — Super nice! Although I will never forget my one negative experience, it really is a good place and I will recommend it to people who are looking for a nice classy night out.

In all fairness let me start by saying it was a busy Thursday evening and on top of that the local chapter of the Ferrari Club of America was meeting for dinner. The restaurant was understaffed(apparently car club attendance was double what was expected) and we endured exceptionally long wait times for everything every step along the way from drinks(I got up from my table at one point and went to the bar to order a few drinks) to the check. My understanding is that this is atypical for the restaurant(did the smorgasboard of gorgeous exotic vehicles filling the parking lot add to the headcount? Perhaps.) I liked the ambiance. Lot’s of dark wood and cozy spaces. A good selection of beers and I enjoyed my traditional Old Fashioned. My appetizer was Steak & Blue Cheese — strips of grilled beef with crumbled blue cheese on top of soft pita(the menu said flatbread and I was expecting something crispy). The beef was tough, albeit a very generous amount. I think I would have enjoyed it more if the beef had not been so sinewy. My entre was a Sonoma Salad with Spring Mix, Raisins and Walnuts Tossed in House Made Balsamic Vinaigrette topped with Gorgonzola Cheese and Sliced Apples. Delicious. Because we were with a group the restaurant slapped an 18% gratuity on top of the check, but it certainly was not earned for service. With all the dining options available in the area, it’s unlikely we will be back.

Great place for lunch as well as dinner. Their ice tea is wonderful and I had a «no bun burger» which comes with cheddar cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms on top with a side salad. Can’t get better than that for a delicious, healthy lunch.

Amazing! Ordered a bunch of apps, the soup of the day, an amazing mushroom broth loaded with mushroom. Then the mushroom tart, a delicious flaky pastry and loaded with mushrooms in a reduction. Fois gras with apples melted in my mouth! And the lamb chops divine! Run! I can’t believe that I waited this long to go!

This place never ceases to amaze me when it comes to flavor. A sophisticated way of cooking but definitely worth it. Don’t look at the price tag as such a bad thing when you’re having the privilege to try such delicious cuisine. Only downer is the few times I’ve gone they seem short staffed and you have to wait quite a while before they pick up your finished plates.

My brunch club decided to venture somewhere a little more local last Sunday, landing us at Vienna Café & Wine Bar. The restaurant was pretty quiet and we had no problem at all getting a table for 11 people with little notice which was definitely a welcomed change compared to places like Tap 42 where you have to stand in line like an hour before they even open if you want to get a table(seriously people it’s not that good). The downside to a quiet restaurant though is that our group’s rowdiness was that much more amplified. I think Vienna Café is definitely geared towards a more middle-age demographic, so my group of 20-somethings with a sprinkling of 30-somethings wasn’t exactly welcomed with open arms. Not that our waitress was unfriendly or anything, but between the butter challenge that went on, the seven or so rounds of mimosas, random roaring and general noise level, she was so done with us by the end. She gave us a hard time about splitting the check… and when I say she gave us a hard time, I mean she wouldn’t do it. Alright fine, here’s 11 different credit cards since that’s obviously easier. As far as the food goes, you have your classics. French toast, pancakes, egg platters, etc. Definitely not the place to go if you are into creative and innovative options. Since I am not a big breakfast food eater, I ordered the Sonoma salad which was spring greens, spinach, apples, walnuts, raisins/craisins and gorgonzola tossed in balsamic. It was a tad heavy on the dressing but all in all it was actually quite delicious. Same cannot be said about my ice coffee though. Shit was so weak that I drank a cup and still got a coffee headache later in the day. So here’s where my panties really got in a twist. Before arriving, I looked at Vienna Café’s menu online since alot of restaurants don’t give you the full menu at brunch time, which is exactly what happened. The salad I ordered was listed online as being $ 10. It wasn’t listed on the brunch menu I was given at the table, but I was of course able to order it since it was past noon anyhow. When the bill came, my salad was $ 12. Yes it’s only a two dollars difference, but that kind of thing bugs me — just update your site! My [weak ass] coffee was a ridiculous $ 3.50. Tax and tip and for my salad and coffee, I’m out nearly 20 bucks which is much too high in my opinion.

I recently celebrated my 2 year wedding anniversary(and 6 years total) with my wife. We were going to be super low key, gran some take out and cuddle on the couch binge watching something. But much like our entire relationship at the very last minute I decided we’d go out! You have to understand she used to HATE this about me — the last minute plans that is — but she’s grown accustom to it… and I like to think she enjoys the spontaneity now. Maybe. Probably not haha This place is somewhat of a hidden gem — and judging by the outside… you are taken back when you walk in. It’s a nice spot… not usually associated with Davie(I LOVEDAVIE… mainly because they have so many good mom and pop restaurants that cook up a storm… but certainly not known for it’s fine dining). It’s also in one of my favorite stripmalls in BPB — where RoundUP and The Mack House are. I’ve passed this place a couple dozen times in the past… and never even thought of walking in. I immediately noticed that we were the youngest people in here. Granted, it was a weekday… and it’s Davie… but we were younger by at least 20 years. No biggie. It was a Monday — and they let us know they do ½ off bottles of wine on Monday. YESPLEASE — we got a bottle and nibbled on bread as we looked over the menu. Ros went with the veggie risotto. A pretty large serving — and it was good(yes, I took a bite). I went with the NY Strip with potatoes au gratin. Those potatoes might be on my new favorites list. They were amazing. Unfortunately the steak fell a little flat. I’m always hesitant to order steak anywhere — as I’m often disappointed. I felt I could of cooked this steak at home — maybe it had to do with the«experience» as I waited for a steak knife for about 10 minutes… waitress no where to be found. Finally when I got up to ask for one, she appeared. It’s unfortunate she was so unattentive when the place wasn’t even half full. I’ll be back and try some other things on the menu soon.

From my multiple reviews you know I’m a fairly straight forward Meat & Potatoes man or some sort of Italian variety. Visiting Vienna Café tonight takes me out of my regular element with 9 gentlemen heading out for the evening this past Wednesday night. A nice sized establishment in the front of the strip mall which fronts SR84 on the East bound side. Plenty of free parking and what would appear plenty of seating. Not very busy on this early Wednesday and they have a small 5 seat bar in the front. We sit to a diverse menu of European favorites. A nice round table seats 9 of us comfortably and our server forget her name sorry a very nice French Canadian lady takes care of us all evening without issue. Some pre dinner drinks and couple bottles of various reds are ordered as we peruse the menu. The wine list is diverse but light on domestics and especially Cabernets. A nice Pinot Noir and also Meritage are selected. The wine list is a steal with a $ 50.00 bottle retail being sold at $ 67.00 Top Stars for price points here. So many things ordered I’ll try to keep the listings & opinions simple. Soup of the day several ordered was fire roasted corn & potato chowder. $ 6.00 a plentiful soup bowl which was very tasty and rich in flavor. Asking for Parmigiano cheese fresh slices was provided that melted into the soup giving it a perfect blend in taste & texture BIGWINNERHERE. Mushroom Fricassee was sautéed in port wine & cream served over a homemade flaky crust pastry $ 11.00 enough to share for at least 3 – 5 people. Excellent without being over bearing. Seared Foie Gras served rare with shallots apples & cognac cream $ 17.00 were top shelf and fresh and tasty. $ 12.00 escargot with shallots lemon & garlic butter were equal to the test also coming in as top shelf. $ 12.00 a couple of Wedge salads with blue cheese, bacon, tomato & red onion along with a combination fresh gorgonzola also enough for 2 – 3 persons to split were ice cold and also perfect. On to the entrees: Jaeger Schnitzel were medallions plentiful in size of veal $ 24.00 with Madeira wine sauce & fingerling potatoes Veal was delicious fresh and tasty and sauce was excellent. I thought the potatoes were kind of bland that really did nothing to accentuate this excellent dish. Filet of beef stroganoff was filet mignon seared and not mixed with the pappardlle pasta. The sauce was mustard, black truffle butter, demi glaze cream. The meat was top shelf though I thought the pasta was a little mush and the sauce a bit flat $ 29.00 House special of the evening boneless rib eye with black & green peppercorn cream sauce was off the charts tasty with the meat not being prime still top shelf $ 36.00 A prime center cut bone in pork chop $ 26.00 was as good as it gets fresh and tasty. The disappointment on the menu was definitely the Wiener schnitzel which was a lightly battered platter of veal with pickled cucumbers. This was dry and utterly tasteless though that is pretty much what the dish is. Even so there was nothing that could bring this breadcrumb to life. No Desserts were tried though a Soufflé was offered(need 40 minutes prep time so you know). Coffee & Espresso’s were hot and fresh. All and all this was excellent. 4 to 4.5 stars here… Atmosphere good, price points per quality of food excellent. Wine list price points VERYGOOD. Top shelf and off the charts on most of the items delivered with some marks off for Stroganoff that lacked some flavor and the Schnitzel was a failure. Service top shelf. Bottom line would not for 1 second hesitate to come here again. Bravo.

BRUNCH it’s what’s for LUNCH, well at least on Sundays! Went with moms over the weekend and it was delicious. We started off trying to go to Kristof’s but the line was out the door with waiters, drove across the street and landed up here! Last time we tried the restaurant was closed for renovations, but they are once again OPEN for business. They added on and now have a ‘party room’, so if you are having a bridal shower or baby shower, there’s definitely room here for those types of events. Looks like they made some additions to their menu including Foie Gras which makes me a hungry girl. Definitely going back for dinner and I’m hoping they still have their half price wine night! On to breakfast, I ordered the eggs bennie($ 11) and moms ordered the cornflake crusted french toast with berry compote($ 8) to be honest I liked hers more, but we shared so that worked out in my favor! Bill with coffee was just shy of $ 27 w/out tip. Their dinner menu looked awesome so that’s my next stop! Going back for sure!

In the heart of Davie, Vienna Café is a welcome respite from the mulitude of sports bars, sub shops, and now gourmet burger places. The restaurant is fairly quiet and tastefully decorated. They have even recently made some updates including a modern bathroom and an outdoor garden. Vienna has been here ever since I can remember and I hope it stays. That is why I wish I could give it a higher rating right now, but recently there have been too many misses for me. For now, really a 31⁄2 star rating for me. The food is definitely worthy of four stars. Dinner is on the expensive side, but you can find some original dishes here which are worth trying. My friend just died over his Sambucca Shrimp appetizer($ 15):. three large prawns, in a sauce comprised of bacon, butter, & sambucca, he said it was heaven and would order three portions next time! In the past I have had the Pan Roasted Scallops($ 14) as an appetizer, which are also excellent. My favorite dish here is the Filet of Beef Strogonoff($ 29). Like some strogonoffs, this is not just some mystery meat with brown sauce and butter noodles. This is 8oz of sliced filet mignon, cremini mushrooms with a demi glacé and black truffle cream over pasta. The meat was perfectly cooked and the demi glacé is such a nice change to have instead of a more traditional sauce. Another dish that I would recommend is the Frikadeller($ 22). Vienna is really known for these sumptuous large Danish Meatballs which one can get for an appetizer or main course. They are usually served with Red Cabbage and Pickled Cucumber, but who could blame my 11 year old for wanting them with mashed potatoes instead? Both the meatballs and the potatoes were absolutely delicious! Husband had the Chicken Schnitzel, which was good(although a bit boring!). My 9 year old enjoyed the Duck and Andouille Cassoulet. I do like the fact that many entrees(definitely the pastas) are available in half portions. Although they have a really nice children’s menu, the regular menu is far more interesting and the half portions are good kid options. Our friend had a special, Coffee Encrusted Ribeye. He was not thrilled with the coffee flavor and said the meat was not very tender. Recently we went to Vienna for lunch. It was a weekend and we really wanted brunch but we were too late for the breakfast type of items. For lunch there is a variety of sandwiches, burgers, and salads which range from $ 9 – 14. I had the Grilled Portobello Mushroom Sandwich($ 13) which was just okay. 9 year old had a Chicken Cobb Salad($ 14) whichhe hated. The burgers were nothing to write home about. The real reason I could not give Vienna four stars, however, is the service. When we went for brunch I did not find our female server to be friendly or helpful at all. At dinner, the server was very friendly, however, the food took forever to come out. There is no excuse for it to take over twently minutes for bread and salads to come out(especialy at 4pm in a mostly empty reataurant). I do not believe this was all the server’s it then took another 45 minutes for the main courses to come out. That is on the kitchen. If you live in the West Broward area, do not want to travel far and want a change of pace, that is not a chain, that is quiet and romanic then give Vienna a try for dinner. The food can be really good… just be prepared to linger over your wine and wait a while for it.

Went here with some friends the other night and i was positively surprised, given that there are not that many restaurants in Davie. Or the suburbs for that matter. Place has a good selections of wines, even though when we ordered a second bottle of the cab were were drinking, they were out of it! Service was lacking a bit, but i guess it was because the server was a young girl and di not have a lot of experience it seemed. The restaurant was packed and it was good we had a reservation. Salad was ok, the pasta i had was very flavorful and a bit salty for my taste(spaguetti al ragu). Everyone else was happy with their meal. Portions are a bit too big so you will not leave hungry. Overall a pretty good place for Italian and wine.
