Love the conveyer belt concept and being able to grab something right away. Makes for a quick lunch or dinner and everything was very good. We will definitely be back!

Holy Moly! I had been meaning to check this place out for a while now. I’ve never been to a restaurant that had this concept, but I know they are pretty popular. Basically there’s a conveyor belt with a ton of sushi on it and you grab whatever catches your eye as it passes by. Each plate is between $ 1.50 — $ 5.50. Some have 4 bites, some have 2 bites. This allows you to try a bunch of stuff — and their stuff was really good. I will say… stick to the sushi — the hot apps weren’t as good. I suggest saving room for«DEMROLLS». APPS: Fried Shumai — deep fried shrimp dumplings. They had a delicious sauce to dip them in. Gyoza — eh, these fell a little flat for me. Mango rolls — this was the big winner of the non sushi items. Amazing — you could technically have these for desert. SUSHI: Blue Tuna Sashimi — my bud wanted this. I’m not a sashimi guy… he had most of it lol Godzilla(Shrimp tempura, avocado, cream cheese and masago, crunchy outside) — Delicious! Miami heat Roll —(Salmon, hamachi, white fish and avocado I/O habanero masago kimchi sauce). Mainly got this one because of how it looked. Flavor wise it doesn’t match how good it looks. Caterpillar Roll —(Tempura shrimp and spicy crab I/O slice avocado on top) — Delicious! Really liked this one. Got this twice haha. Caramel Tres Leches — A little odd to have tres leches at a sushi spot. It was fluffy and tasty, but I wouldn’t call this a «tres leches» by any means. Overall this was a hit. I really want to try more of their rolls, as they were all super unique. For me it’s tapas style sushi — you get to try multiple rolls without breaking the bank. As we were getting up, there were a ton of new rolls coming on the line… and I almost stuck around for a bit to get a couple more rolls, but we were stuffed. Skipping apps next time and just doing sushi.

Was in need of something quick to eat. Not too far from the school, I located this establishment. I really can’t complain. Food is great and cheap. Being that I only had $ 20 at the time, I made it work. Lol. I would definitely come back and recommend this to others!

Not quite sure what took me so long to write this review, because everything on Yuzu Kaiten’s rather copious menu is not just awesome, but very reasonably priced as well. As usual, I got carried away and literally ended up with enough food to last me a couple days. I guess that’s what happens when nearly every item on the menu is accompanied by a photo. I tried the Bento(among many many other things) with Katsu Chicken and Japanese Curry, which features a very low price-to-serving ratio, meaning, it was an exceptional value for the price. In fact, it was good enough to conjure previous dining experiences in Asakusa, Tōkyō. As for the sushi, the Snow White and Futomaki are great choices. Our customer service experience was limited to only one employee. However, she displayed genuine concern and was courteous enough to warn me that I was ordering far more food than I could probably eat. Her accommodating nature is worthy of its own three stars.

This place is the best sushi place I’ve been to in Florida. It compares greatly to the places I’ve been to in Japan. The rice is just as important as the fish and it’s great to see there’s fish flown in from Japan. Make sure to try the omakase and the bluefin tuna. Really I’m just stunned that this place even exists. Just incredible!

I’ve been here a few times. The food is consistently tasty and the service is consistently sluggish. I like the conveyor belt concept: choose a dish you like off the moving conveyor belt and pay according to plate color. Most of the rolls have 2 – 4 pieces allowing you to sample a variety. Sashimi is mostly 3 slices. There are also some salads and desserts rotating around. Some dishes require ordering off the menu or requesting them from the server. Additionally beverages, ginger, dipping dishes, and other items must be ordered from the server. This sometimes interferes with your meal since it takes forever to get anything that’s not on the conveyor belt. Overall it’s a fun experience.

Apparently there’s an ad for this place in every neighborhood magazine boasting this«omakase» experience. What’s that all about? At Yuzu it’s a secret password that unlocks a sushi experience like you’ll want to share with others ASAP! Literally translated, Omakase means«I’ll leave it up to you» or «to entrust», and when you say it to the chef, you’re leaving your meal entirely up them. It’s like a chef’s tasting menu featuring the best ingredients they have to offer that evening, prepared as they see fit, and served in an order that allows you to enjoy each to the fullest extent. Usually omakase is a service found at higher end sushi bars, so when my parents took me to a restaurant with a conveyor belt snaking through the space sending assorted sushi offerings to booths for self service, I was a bit nervous. Looking over the sushi menu you’d assume that the chefs are working with the basics. But the rest of the offerings, which include ramen and Japanese hot appetizers like hamachi kama and grilled squid, along with the signs on the wall indicating the availability of fish like bluefin tuna hint at the fact there’s something else happening here. Asking your server for the Omakse at Yuzu unlocks a secret menu filled with fish and preparations you may not be familiar with, but will find yourself craving after one bite! The chef will typically visit your table and explain what he has special that evening, ask about any preferences or allergies, then return to the kitchen. This omakase is served as a platter, and the chef will return to explain what they have assembled. The highlights of previous platters include a special Japanese clam, sliced thin, lightly marinated and tossed with tobiko, wild bluefin toro, farmed bluefin toro, horse mackerel, and some of the tastiest ikura I’ve ever had. I’ve also enjoyed their grilled squid appetizer and for dessert I always order sweet shrimp sashimi with fried heads! P. S. Don’t forget to ask for the FRESH wasabi. In two visits, I’ve had two incredibly different meals here, both ordered with one word. I’ll be back!

I love this place. Rotating sushi conveyor belts are unique here. An experience only usually seen in Japan. The owner/chef is a skilled Ramen chef trained in Japan. Very friendly and he will make you an authentic ramen if you ask. The sushi is always convenient and pretty good for being on a conveyor belt. I really have no complaints here of yet and after atleast 5 visits I assign this place 5 stars.

I came here to get my Sushi fix. It’s an alright sushi-go-round. I’m not sure if it was just the day/time I came, but the sushi tasted like Mall Sushi. The staff was nice though. What I liked most though was ordering the sweet shrimp! If you’re here or any sushi place at that, ask for sweet shrimp! I’ll probably come back again sometime and re-review this place.

One of the better establishments for sure. You can have the best of both worlds here, the conveyor belt and menu! Their ice green tea is a blast and they have fresh Uni too! That’s a sign of a joint that assures that all is good with regards to availability. The beef yakitori is lights out! Have had better spicy Mayo, but the freshness of the sashimi and other rolls more than made up for it! I’m going to say this if the best conveyor belt experience in a long long time, and that’s saying alot folks! Come dig in for sure!

Was in the area and searched for sushi, this was the highest rated by the most people(by far) but I almost didn’t go because Unilocal said it was closed at 8 pm on Friday night. Glad I trusted my gut and went anyway because not only was it open, it was packed. There is a separate area for takeout orders right near the kitchen. Would be nice if they added some seating in this area. Looking around this would be a super cute place to come back and dine in. There are all kinds of sakes and prices are very reasonable. I ordered the tuna tacos and asked for the JB roll tempura on the outside which was a $ 1 upcharge. No biggie because I was expecting a nice coating of batter like you would see on the outside of a tempura shrimp. I felt bad for the sole lady manning the takeout calls and steady stream of people walking in. But she was hustling. In total it was 25 minutes before my food was ready. By the time I got home 15 minutes later the wonton on the tuna tacos was soggy but I guess that is to be expected. It still had a great flavor. The«tempura» on the outside of the roll looked more like some Panko breadcrumbs stuck to the outside. The filling was tasty. All in all it was all right. I live closer to U-Sushi and probably won’t go out of my way to return to this place unless I’m dining in and wanting the full experience of the conveyor belt and sake.

Long overdue update for Yuzu! Yes, from three stars to a well deserved five stars!!! In a nutshell, Yuzu simply has the freshest fish around at reasonable prices. Tues and Friday the chef gets special fish from Japan but any fish is great. If you are not sure about what to order, ask to consult with the chef. He will gladly come out. My kids still love the items from the conveyer belt, as well as the Gzoya and Shrimp Shumai. I have actually gotten fond of their Ramen. I am addicted to the spicy tuna rolls. The staff could not be nicer. They are patient and accommodating. I feel lucky to have Yuzu so close to my house!

This place has only gotten better and better every time I visit. They opened last year in February, My partner found them in the Chinese newspaper so we decided to go check em out. 1st visit: we ate the sushi in the refrigerated conveyor belt, which is awesome because it show’s the establishment cares for the well-being of it’s patrons, that way raw food is not just sitting out and about. The conveyor sushi is okay, then Chef Kurt came over to greet us, we chatted and asked him if he does special requests. This was the magical moment. He told us to wait a moment and he comes back(mind u it was the first 2 weeks of opening, they were not busy at all) with a beautifully put together platter of sashimi and sushi. I took a bite and the rest was history. I have been going since, and every time I go I always get the Chef’s special and u can request for just sushi or sashimi or both. He imports his fish straight from Japan and other parts of the world. This guys is the real deal hidden inside a kaiten sushi bar. I come here whenever I have the chance to, and chef kurt has always found ways to surprise me, my family, and my friends or whoever I bring to this establishment. If I could I would check off 一萬個LIKE.

Great food! We ordered miso soup, dumplings and then a dragon roll, a caterpillar roll and a rock’n’roll roll. They were all very good! The desserts also looked amazing, we tried the fried ice cream, it was delicious. We will come back for sure

Why does my favorite sushi restaurant have to be so far away from where I live??? I would definitely be a «regular» if I lived closer. Coral Springs to Davie is quite a schlep but I still manage to get my «fix» every so often. I am not a sushi expert by any means, in fact I just started eating sushi over a year ago. I want to thank Joan L and Sue B for introducing this restaurant to me. If it wasn’t for them, I would not know just how good sushi can be. I am still in the«exploring» stage of my sushi journey, so perhaps many people would not consider my «rolls» real sushi, but regardless, I am in love with them. I still have to use«training chopsticks» and I am okay with this and if I had to, I would use my fingers, yes, it’s that good. The restaurant is clean and modern. They have a rolling conveyer belt that circles around the tables, and I believe the plates are color coded to match the price list. I always order off the menu even though everything on the belt looks so good. I love the Shrimp Shumai($ 4.50). Six steamed dumplings are served with Ponzu Sauce on the side. These are really good and I order them every time I go. You can get them fried, but I love them steamed and lets face it, fried has more calories and some of my sushi rolls are fried, so steamed works for me. The basic Green Salad($ 3.00) is very fresh, but I don’t care for the Ginger Dressing. I find the dressing to be very thick, but some people love it prepared this way, especially with all the grated carrots they add to it. The Edamame($ 2.25) is a large portion and they are lightly salted. Good stuff. The Chicken Fried Rice($ 7.00) is enough rice to feed a small family. It has tons of chicken and it’s so flavorful. Lots of scallions, just the way I like it. I love the Beef Negimaki($ 6.50) which is located on the Yakitori menu. You get three skewers of the softest rolled beef with scallions with an incredible sauce on top. I am not sure, but the sauce might be teriyaki. I love this dish. I tried a small piece of Hamachi Kama(Yellowtail Fish Collar) and I did like it, but not enough to order it on my own. Well maybe I would, I just like so many other things more, but who knows, maybe I will have it again. It came with a sauce on the side that was good too. The JB Roll($ 6.50/8pcs) is on the Beginner Roll section of the menu. Salmon, cream cheese and cucumbers, what’s not to like? I graduated from the Beginner Roll menu to the Special Roll part of the menu, but yet, I still am using«training chopsticks«, go figure. I have had three of the Special Rolls and my favorite is the Rock’N’Roll($ 10.50/8pcs). Let me tell you why this is my favorite. Number one, they deep fry it. This is where we get into that grey area of am I really eating sushi? I say yes, others may say no. So anyway yes, it’s fried and they stuff it with avocado, cream cheese, salmon and crab. And then they drizzle eel sauce & a spicy mayo over it. I know this isn’t the healthiest way of eating sushi, but man is it good. I order this every single time, well at least the three times that I have eaten here anyway. Honestly, I wouldn’t dream of coming here and not ordering this roll. The Baby Spider Roll($ 8.50/8pcs) is great. This one is not fried, so it’s a little bit healthier. It has soft shell crab, cucumbers, lettuce and masago. I prefer it without the lettuce and masago. OK, my second favorite Special Roll is the Snow White(8.50/8pcs). Of course it has tempura shrimp, so at least some of this roll is fried, but it also has crab, cucumber and some crunchy things they sprinkle on top, and then they top it off with a drizzle of the spicy mayo. Oh god, this is delicious. What I really think is cool is that you can order half rolls if you want to mix and match. I don’t have a ton of sushi experience, so maybe this is normal? I really don’t know. But it’s an inexpensive way of trying a bunch of different things. I shared the Thai Donuts($ 4.50) with my sister one night. I just remember they were hot out of the oven or fryer, probably the fryer, and they came with a dipping sauce of some sort. I’m pretty confident that we ate all of them because of course they were delicious. This is definitely one of my all time favorite restaurants. It’s not a fancy schmancy place, but it’s just so good. My mouth is watering and I am so far away and this really saddens me. I will be exploring more of the menu as time goes on and hopefully I won’t be accused of not eating real sushi again. I highly recommend Yuzu Kaiten.

THISPLACEISSOOOOCOOL. Seriously. In Davie of all places?! An amazing Unilocal find. I had always wanted to go to a conveyer sushi restaurant! What a treat. The conveyors snake through the whole place so that they go by each table. The selection is pretty varied — everything from sashimi to more creative rolls to dessert. There’s also an extensive menu, so you can get just about any type of sushi/sashimi/etc even if it’s not on the conveyor. A family member ordered some potstickers off the menu which were yummy. I think the five stars have more to do with the atmosphere and novelty of the conveyor belts vs. the food itself(though the sushi I picked was great, don’t get me wrong). This is more so a place you go for the cool experience, if you’re a nerd like me who gets excited about these kinds of things. The pricing was pretty reasonable too — all of the plates are color coded so you know how much something is before you snatch it off the conveyor. Our waitress was also super friendly and helpful, a definite plus! If you happen to be in Davie and you’re looking for a fun food experience, you will not regret trying this place.

YUZU! Oh my goodness. It’s as if the sushi Gods decided to grace us with the freshest sushi alive. This place is the bee’s knees, folks. The . I’ve come here countless times and I was waiting for an opportunity to fully explain just how amazing Yuzu is. I love this concept. Firstly might I mention that anytime you come here, there WILL be a wait. But listen when I tell you it is worth it. I waited about 30 minutes the first time and was tempted to leave, however, I stuck it through. You will be glad you waited. The tables are really spacious, which is good because it leaves you the space to stack up the plates. The sushi comes out on this conveyer belt, and each plate is a different color. The color distinguishes the price of the sushi. The conveyer belt is refrigerated, too. Every roll I took from the belt was not only delicious and flavorful, it was extremely fresh. I’ve never had a bad roll from here. My favorite roll is the spicy salmon. The salmon is pink and smoked, it was like my taste buds were having a party. The shrimp shumai is hands down the best I’ve had anywhere. The service is really good, too. Albeit, we serve our selves but our waiter, John, was funny and attentive. I’m a sushi connoisseur, I’ve been to sushi restaurants near and far — however, Yuzu Kaiten has to be the freshest joint I’ve visited. When you experience this place, I guarantee you will be coming back.

My friend suggested this location because it was close to the interstate and a good meeting location before I hit the road to get out of town. This was my first visit to a sushi restaurant with a conveyor in America. Each of the booths had access to the various plates of sushi as they rotated around the restaurant. We received a few pieces of sushi off of the conveyor belt before I noticed the bento box on the traditional menu. The bento box was attractive because it had an entrée of your choice, fried rice, California roll, fried gyoza, tempura vegetables, and miso soup or salad. I chose the chicken teriyaki and it was only $ 12.99 for this complete meal. The bento box was filling and I though the chicken was cooked and flavored well. The gyoza and sushi were just ok, I’ve had better. Overall the food experience was not bad for an impromptu meet up. The service here though was lacking. After being told the table would take a minute, I went to the restroom while they were cleaning it. When I got back just a few minutes later, the server had seated someone at my table and I was told I would have to wait. By then there was another party also waiting who they were going to make me wait on as well. I indicated that I was first and that my table had been given away and now I was being asked to wait behind yet another party. They apologized for the mix up but I still had to wait yet again for a table to be vacated and cleaned. This was a bit of a turn off initially but we stayed because of our tight schedule.

I had heard great things about Yuzu Kaiten Sushi from fellow Unilocalers so when I had a lunch date in Davie I suggested trying it out. I had already heard that they receive weekly shipments of fresh fish from Japan so I had high expectations even though we weren’t going on a day they received a delivery. The interior is very nice and clean as the entire restaurant is brand new. Chic and modern with lots of comfortable booths that each have access to the sushi conveyor belt. The waitress was very friendly and answered any questions we had. We decided to just have fun with the offerings on the belt so we didn’t order from the menu; but, I checked it out and they have lots of options. After watching everything go by at least once I picked the Philadelphia roll($ 3.25) and the Sweet Potato Tempura roll($ 1.50). Both were really good quality and super yummy. The sweet potato was a favorite and I would have grabbed another if I wasn’t already full. Prices for the plates are very reasonable; but, I can see how you would have to be careful since there are so many options continuously passing right beside you. I left here completely happy with the restaurant, the price and my sushi. Yuzu Kaiten is definitely on my list for great places to eat in Davie.

I’m hovering around 3.5 stars here, but I think going to round down to 3, since nothing here blew me away, and as well all know(or should know if you’ve been to one of these type places) that the plates can quickly add up! Yuzu Kaiten has been on my radar since they first opened, and really peaked my interest when I read Paul M’s review. So finally after months of waiting I was able to check it out! Despite reading ahead of time the conveyor belt system still wowed me, as this is different from any other«floating boat» sushi place I had been to. One thing to note if you’re a clean freak(I’m not), the sushi here presumably is cleaner as it’s kept nice and safe in a different closed environment. It also means that opening the conveyor belt door may slow you down a bit, so you need to keep an eye out on what’s coming and make sure you don’t miss what you want — in one case I had to wait for the entire thing to go around again. Ok, so what did I eat. Well as you may know these places can get pricey. Grabbing all those little plates seems like a great idea until you get the check and you regret all of your decisions, so I did try and aim for the mid-priced blue and green plates. Favorite of the night was the Miami Heat Roll which definitely packed some heat. Second favorite was the roll topped with imitation crab meat(Snow White?), and you’ll notice like me that grabbing the plates is probably more memorable than the actual names. I did also order the YellowTail Collarbone from the menu since I’d seen so many others raving about it, along with a miso soup. The soup was as expected, but the YellowTail somewhat let me down. It was good, but not as good as the other reviews had lead me to believe. I wouldn’t order this again. This may sound strange, but I tried the Crème Brulee for dessert, yes not a real Asian standard lol, and found the dish to be good, but kind of off. More like a Custard Brulee than a Crème, if that makes any sense. Overall, Yuzu is a fun place, especially for someone who hasn’t done the floating boat style places. Pricing was fare, but you can of course rack up quite a hefty bill here. Sake, wine and beer was available, but the menu was taken away from me as soon as I ordered water, as if I wasn’t allowed to revisit my choice. The service at the end felt a little weird, maybe they wanted to make sure I didn’t «steal» any other plates after they had tallied the bill, but they definitely hovered around a bit much.
