I do not recommend this place to anyone. Not professional in therapy or customer satisfactory. Ended up going there more than 4. Once the first bill came through after the third month, found out one of my insurances wasn’t accepted. Now I’m left with this huge bill that if they had told me in the first place it wouldn’t be accepted I would have stopped my therapies. Awful billing department. I highly suggest Sutter.

Burger PT has great staff and a spacious facility. I’m a current patient seeing Abbie for two chronic athletic/overuse injuries. She is enthusiastic and effective. Appointments are 30 minutes long, but you can come early/stay late to work on your home exercises or warm up on a cardio machine as instructed by your therapist. Reception staff call the day before as a reminder. If you bus, Unitrans P/Q line drops of on Covell and John Jones road. To get to the clinic it’s a little bit of a walk up John Jones road: about 4 mins if you’re fast or 6+ mins if you’re slow like me on bad knee pain days. Bottom line: too far if you have a lot of pain with walking; would be tiring but do-able on crutches. If you bike, there are no bike racks at the entrance of the building, but the upstairs breezeway by the elevator is spacious — I don’t know if the building manager would approve, but I left my bike there for a visit once. If you drive a car, there’s a giant parking lot with plenty of spots. A note for folks on Medi-Cal: I got Medi-Cal health coverage in February and my primary care doctor at Woodland Healthcare Davis referred me to Burger PT. When I called Burger PT’s first-time-appointment line, the scheduler said they did not accept Medi-Cal. What I learned is that you have to tell them the specific group you’ve been assigned to with Medi-Cal — in my case, I have Partnership Health Plan of California. Within Partnership, I am assigned to Woodland Healthcare Davis. It’s a lot of names and a bit confusing, but I would say when in doubt, list all the business names/plan names on all your health care cards for the Burger PT scheduler, so you can be sure they hear what they need to hear in order to know whether they accept your insurance. In my case the scheduler said they do accept Partnership but not Medi-Cal(even though to me, it’s the same thing).

I went to Burger Physical Therapy on a referral form Sutter Hospital, Davis. Getting an appointment is easier and they give a reminder call a day before the appointment, so that you won’t miss it. The therapist are extremely friendly. They make us feel better with exercise and other therapies. Give ideas on how we can improve while doing our daily work. Special thanks to Richard, who was my therapist, who helped me in recovering from the wrist injury and I feel much better after 3 – 4 sessions of therapy.

Burger PT in Davis is a wonderful new facility with plenty of parking. The therapists are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to get an appointment with. They listen to your needs and develop a program suitable for the patient to manage. They have therapy aides to help with anything not requiring a therapist and work as a team which provides better patient/client care. I would definitely recommend them! Wendee, Davis CA
