Pluto’s Fresh Food

I have no idea why there is one dollar sign here. The sandwiches are pretty decently prized for Davis but all the sides were at leaves 2.50 each. Plus drinks? That is pretty upscale for a sandwich joint. But my sandwich was freaking good. My boyfriend’s sandwich totally fell apart tho and his mac and cheese was overrated. Next time, I’ll make him a box of kraft at home.

Haven’t been at a Pluto’s in 12 years. The onion rings were the same great taste out of this world. The BBQ sauce they servitude l server it with was also great. All their side dishes are so yummy
With so many options is hard to pick one. But if you do, don’t worry, it’ll be a winner.

I LOVE the salad. Really, really good. And super filling! It was huge on my plate, and it tasted amazing with the hot sauce and mustard that they serve. I also like how it’s Chipotle style as well, where you get to choose what goes on your salad or sandwich.
However, the customer service was absolutely awful. The guy helping me didn’t understand me, and seemed annoyed at me because I was trying to ask some questions about how many items could be in the salad. I accidentally also said onions instead of mushrooms, and his facial expressions were just not that nice when I corrected myself. It was an innocent mistake! There wasn’t any need for sass! I apologized too, but he just kept staring at me waiting for the next item I wanted.
I would come here again because I do like the salad options a lot, but I would consider other places first. I hope the guy was just having a bad day, and I happened to come on the wrong day. It’s always busy, so I’ll give this place another try one day.

i come for the turkey and mash as well as the curly fries. the bread is fresh as well cant go wrong with this place

Great spot for lunch. Build your own sandwich and a ton of options for your salad. ONLY drawback is price, but other than that it’s awesome.

be careful when getting their salads. not sure if they wash their greens or how well they do because there were insects & eggs on the underside of the leaves

If you don’t like salads, you probably haven’t combined the right ingredients. Come here and learn to love the art of salad making and consumption.
Food: They have a set of signature salads and also seasonal ones, but you can build your own. So many fresh ingredients to chose from some which are fresh, some marinated, some grilled (multiple beans, various cheeses, protein options, dressings, etc.). Signature sandwiches are okay. They sounds delicious, but I usually have an issue with mine, either the bread is too hard or the meat is too bland. Either way, they’re fresh and innovative. You can order side dishes, such as sweet potato fries, mac n cheese, etc.
Service: Friendly, quick and efficient.
Ambiance: Clean, spacious and modern. Outside and inside seating available.
Price: Always order a small, because they are insanely huge. I can’t imagine what the larger size looks like. High quality ingredients and large portions equal great pricing!
Overall: Great quality, delicious healthy eats, large portions and quick service. I’m a big fan of Pluto’s and wish they would open up a few more locations throughout the Bay Area.

So good. I wish we had more in the bay area!!! Salad portions are huge and the tritip was delicious!

+ THE FOOD
LOVE LOVE LOVE Pluto’s! It’s a better version of Jack’s. I always build my own salad when I am at Pluto’s. I like how there’s two sizes of salads you can choose from– side or main. The side salad is actually pretty filling even if its not as big as the main salad. You get to choose 7 add-on’s onto your salad and meats (at additional cost). What Pluto has that wins over Jack’s is their cilantro lime dressing! It isn’t overbearing and tastes perfect. I also like their smashed spuds!
+ THE PRICES
Much much cheaper than Jack’s! The side salad with meat (which is REALLY filling) is $ 7.75, where as Jack’s would be around $ 10 – 11. Their sides are $ 2.25, which is inexpensive as well.

I am consistently impressed with the Pluto’s business model. This branch does not fall short of any promises. It was just exactly what it promised to be so no extra stars. The staff was cheery and helpful in making our salads. They asked all the right questions and gave all the right answers. I had a delicious salad in no time.

Pluto’s have the best and freshest salads! I ordered a side salad, but it looked bigger than any side salads that I’ve had. You get to build your salad without doing the dirty work. :) They all come with a side of bread. I recommend adding some fruits (grapes, pineapples, oranges or strawberries if it is in season) to your salad. I know it can be weird for some people, but I swear it makes the salad taste even better!
After you order the salad, you can add meat on top. I usually like adding some steak to my salad. After you pay, you can seat yourself. It is really simple and straightforward. If you don’t like salad, there are sandwiches and other side dishes as well. I like how Pluto’s can cater to vegetarians and meat eaters! There’s something for everyone here.

Yummmm! Plutos is always a good idea. They have a make your own salad bar, sandwiches, meats, and a la carte items.
I always get their side salad and get to choose 7 toppings :) the side salad is definitely just enough and some. The toppings and lettuce are always fresh! The cilantro lime sauce is my favorite dressing ! :)
I’ve also had their carved meats w/​a side of mash potatoes, corn, and BBQ sauce! It was yum. I mixed their BBQ sauce with the mash potatoes and it was delicious.
The service is always friendly when I come! I haven’t had a bad experience here yet.
We recently place a large order for my work. We placed 25 orders for at 11:00am and needed it finished by 11:45 and they were able to accommodate it! :) they got a few stuff wrong but totally understandable.
Will come again!

Seriously though, Pluto’s is the place to go to for me if you are looking for a delicious, filling meal for a more than fair price.
The space is open, retro, and colorful– the perfect hang-​out place with friends: It has a lot of outer space vibes and booths + open tables: comfortable places for everyone!
The service is quick and helpful. Food is prepared quickly and deliciously.
SO– I got the Asian Salad with the extra protein of Grilled Chicken. I was not expecting it to be so big– but it was big and it was glorious: I was definitely full from the salad and the dressing (apparently made at the store) and definitely pleased. The Asian dressing is so zesty and yummilicious.
I also got to try a little nibble of my friend’s chicken sandwich: Chicken Comet– with a side of Mushrooms of the Moment and OMG– MOUTHGASM! The flavors were on fleek: BBQ sauce tangy and bold, chicken moist and well cooked, mushrooms– oh– I think they were cooked in red wine? I can’t be sure. but they were absolutely delectable.
I WOULD TOTALLY COME BACK! Good food, generous portions, and affordable prices? You can count me getting into this space ship!

When you want something healthy, light and refreshing, especially for Davis’s hot weather, Pluto’s is the place to go!

My usual order there is a small salad with the following components:
~ Romaine Lettuce (base)
~ Garbanzo Beans
~ Red Onions
~ Roma Tomatoes
~ Corn
~ Soy nuts and Sun Flower Seeds
~ Broccoli
~ Carrots
~ Balsamic Vinaigrette (dressing)
I get my salad with a slice of focaccia bread!
Someone might argue that it’s easy to prepare a salad at home. Being a college student however, I know it’s hard to come up with AND buy soo many toppings just to make a bowl of salad. Not to mention eating salad consistently for a week to finish all your groceries.
That’s why I’m thankful I can buy salad occasionally at Pluto’s!

Plutos is A-​OK. It’s never been a super favorite of mine in Davis, but I do like going here once in a while. There food has been pretty fresh every time that I have been there, but the meat, especially the chicken, is not as fresh. I know thats its cooked earlier in the day and regrilled when you order to make the wait time shorter, but unless they are covered in barbecue sauce, they are not my favorite.
The salads there are great. you get your pick of greens as well as seven toppings. They have a good selection available. My two staples are the edamame and the corn. I usually like walnuts on my salad, but unfortunately the only ones they have available are candied. They also have a nice variety of dressings to go with. One thing to note though, is that its a little hard to hear over the glass at the salad counter, so you do have to speak a little loud.
A lot of my friends really love this place and so I do come here a lot. In my opinion, the price is a bit steep for a salad, but they do have large servings. Overall, its a good place to go if you want to be a little healthy and don’t want to bother fixing your own meal.

When I’m not in the food for some fried foods then this is the place where I go.
I love sandwiches. Especially when I can customize every little detail of how my sandwich is made. This place does it for me. The service is excellent, the staff are always pleasant and quick when it comes to orders.
I also love that they carve the turkey for my sandwich rather then grabbing it precut in the back! Talk about memories of day after thanksgiving sandwiches!!!

My all time go to place for some bomb a** salad. I don’t know what it is but the salad here got me hooked. I love how there’s a variety of toppings. I would usually get a side salad and I don’t even know if you can call it a side salad. because it’s so big! The portions are huge! The chicken breast is also moist. If you’re looking for some good salad, you should go here! But beware, the salads here are pretty addicting. My friends and I tried the curly fries because we read on Unilocal & people seemed to love it. The garlic curly fries was flavorful and crispy. We were too full off of the salad that we couldn’t finish the garlic fries. As I’m typing this. I kinda want a salad right now lol

Awesome place for build-​your-​own salad or sandwich, at a fair price and with delicious ingredients! For the traditionalist, you can also order meat (chicken, turkey, steak, etc) w sides like mashed potatoes, stuffing, or mac n cheese.
On entry it’s a little overwhelming, but staff is very friendly and helpful! I enjoyed an entrée size salad with 7 mix-​ins plus added chicken, with rosemary focaccia bread. $ 9, could have fed two people… But I enjoyed it all myself!
When you come in, just be ready for decision fatigue (choosing 7 mix ins from over 50 options can be overwhelming!). But the final product is well worth it!

The service is super fast and efficient. I love getting the salads here because you can split a full salad with another person (so much more efficient) and I absolutely love having a wide variety of fruits in my salad!
The reason for five stars is: the focaccia bread. It is one of the greatest focaccia bread I’ve ever had. All their sandwich options are amazing.
A little extra that I can’t seem to get anywhere is their mango-​apple juice and their classic spindrift sodas!
This I will miss when I leave Davis. Also, best fries ever.

Perfect place to go for quick, fresh, and tasty meal. They have HUGE portions for all pretty much under $ 10 per person.
They have everything from build-​your-​own salads with your choice of 7 toppings, to hearty meat cooked and sliced right in front of you… Which you can use to top off your salad, add to your custom or signature sandwich, or even plate it and accompany it with some sides. Their sides include macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing, mixed veggies, and so much more!
I can’t get enough of this place! In addition to the food itself, the atmosphere is awesome. It’s located in the Whole Foods Market with other restaurants such as The Habit, Pinkberry, Mikunis, and some other fun shops. You can choose to sit outside at the umbrella tables, and it’s super dog friendly too.
