The only complaint I have is that it was SUPER busy and loud so don’t go on a Saturday. However with that being said the staff is great! There were only 3 employees working and TONS of customers and the staff somehow managed to provide excellent service to each individual person. The wines are pretty dang amazing too. And the views! Omg the views are just incredible!

I have done quite a bit of wine tasting in Dundee and I keep finding myself coming back to Vista Hills. The facility is wonderful and it reminds of going to a family cabin(a high-end cabin, that is). The staff have always been great and it just feels like you are going to a dinner party rather than a pretentious wine tasting. They produce Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris and I can’t say I’ve been disappointed by any bottles that I have purchased thus far!

Beautiful view, beautiful tasting room, ugly service. Poor customer service always leaves a bad taste no matter how lovely the wine or the view may be. Our party arrived excited to taste the wine of the Dundee Hills. We walked in stood at the tasting counter. We were asked if we arrived in the limo. «No we did not. Just the three of us. We want…» We were cut off in order to give full attention to the couple that had arrived in the limo. They were warmly taken to a table. We were left standing there amazed. Traditionally we buy bottles wherever we taste. Not this time.

Beautiful property but our server was a little off. There are so many other places to stop when you’re touring the area I’d probably skip this one just because of the lame people. On the other hand, Stoller was exceptional!

We visited several vineyards and I found the setting and views just beautiful. Also enjoyed the wine. Preferences for wine are very personal but I thought the flavors here were more flavorful and refreshing. Good options for pinot noir and gris.

Super family, child and dog friendly with excellent wines and great parties. Beautiful lake and tasting room with wood burning fireplace and awesome views.

Awe, one of my favorite wineries in Oregon. Ranks quite high. Love the wine, love the staff, love the Hawaiian chocolate, love the vineyards views, love the atmosphere. This is a place to go to escape. Nestled in the hills of Dundee, amongst high-end vineyards which charge more for less; this one is a rare treat. We brought our Oregon Wine Passport which included two free tastings. I loved their wine, and will be back to buy more. We took time to ponder the beauty, air, and essence of wine country here. Very sweet spot.

Wonderful location, beautiful and worth while drive, and located next to other amazing wineries. Great karma, the tasting room had a very welcoming feel and vibe provided by the employees. Wines are reasonably priced and are fulfilling. Fuller bodied pinot’s(as Im tired of the light and spicy variety) All in all, part of a great wine tour. Give them a visit!

We came here because we read a review while visiting another winery. I guess I should know better. I had already passed up on this one before, but gave it a go. The setting is really nice. The tasting room is built like a treehouse and inside is pretty cute and they had the fireplace going, so that gets the extra star. I didn’t like any of the wines. I couldn’t drink any of the tastings. I kept pouring them out. Usually I find at least one. No such luck. My husband thought I was stubborn not to stop at the second one and cut our losses and leave. But after all we were paying $ 30. Oh well, we had to go find another one fast enough to get the bad taste out of our mouths.

Vista Hills provides one of the finest wine tasting experiences in the Dundee Hills area, and at a more than reasonable price. Between the service, the value, and the view, Vista Hills is a must-do on any wine tasting tour through this area. $ 10 buys you a generous tasting of 4+ wines. On any given day, they may spontaneously decide to add in an extra wine or two, but the cost will never rise for an additional glass added to the tastings. If you’re into rosé, they have a separate rosé tasting which is two vintages for $ 5. If you’re not interested in a tasting or already know what you like, you’re more than welcome to buy a whole bottle and enjoy it on site. And if wine isn’t your jam at all, they offer amazing Kona coffee from a partner coffee grower on Hawaii’s big island. The setting couldn’t be more picturesque. These guys settled the top of this particular hill, and on a clear day you can see forever. I can’t think of any better place to sip a Pinot Noir than their back deck. But if the weather isn’t cooperating(and let’s be honest, in Oregon it often isn’t), their inside space is both classy and cozy. And you really won’t find any better service than this at any vineyard in the area. These guys are knowledgeable but unpretentious. Vista Hills is open most days until 5, while many other local vineyards close their doors at 4. Consider planning your day’s tastings with this in mind. This is a great place to close out the day. I’ll be back many, many times. You should consider doing the same.

I finally had a chance to visit all the wineries on the holy hill. It was a foggy friday afternoon. I hear that Vista Hills has a great view. It does. Even in the fog. I was greeted by a wine expert. He had another group but made sure to say hello and get wine in my glass immediately. Big plus, because nothing is worse than an empty wine glass. They have a turntable there! And LPs are actually playing while you taste. I requested Steve Winwood, which I could see from the other side of the bar. Steve Winwood went right on there. A tasting room that plays records and takes requests… Oregon through and through. The wines were just as good as I expected. I think I took a couple Pinot Gris’ home with me. But they were all good. Like most of the Willamette wineries, the focus is Pinot Noir. Then I got a chance to kick it by the fireplace and chat about wine with the other guests. This place is authentic. It is genuine. No one is faking anything here. I would return, and I am sure I will. I am sure that the view is nice, but try going on a foggy day too. Also they do weddings.

My 2nd event at Vista Hills and I did not leave disappointed. While the food was not free this time, it was dee-lish. Last time they had a restaurant that makes oven-roasted pizza’s serving up 4 different kinds of pie. Free is a very good price. This time, they had a food cart that makes big, fat sandwiches. We got a pulled pork monster for $ 7 or $ 8 and shared it. They had 4 or 5 different wineries giving tastings, which always makes for a good time. I ran into a friend who is making his own wine now, and it proved to be one of my favorites. Of course, I was biased, since he served his with chocolate. The grounds are my favorite of any vineyard. It could have to do with the horses that frequently trot by(you can pay to ride them on a trail) — that I always have to go pet. No, I’m not the Horse Whisperer, but I like to think I am. It could also be the gorgeous deck facing miles of rolling hills. I feel that their service here is superb and that everyone is treated like an honored guest. I will be back in a few weeks for another Vista Hills event and really can’t wait!

This is a lovely vineyard with very knowledgable staff. The view from the deck is beautiful, and they have a couple rooms where you can settle into a comfy chair and chat while sipping your wine. I really liked the Pinot Noirs best, and learned a lot about the grape and the soil — I never realized what a difference the soil makes in a wine! They have a funky old record player too with a great selection of albums. It made for a very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. I did not try their coffee, but I did purchase some chocolate, which is very tasty.

Vista Hills is a great place to visit — and I don’t even like wine! The staff is awesome, they have a record player with a pretty extensive record collection, and the views are outstanding. In addition to wine, they also sell coffee from Kona and chocolates. There is a great outside area to eat lunch(you can bring outside food) and enjoy your drinks. I love the little fireplace outside and heard they serve s’mores occasionally in the summer.

This was probably my favorite tasting room that I went to in the Willamet Valley. Unlike the other rooms, the staff here worked well as a team. They were engaging, down to earth(important to me when around wine people) and nice. I liked the vinyl record player in the corner. Nice touch. Great views, nice location, really good wine. Two bottles were bought, but only one made it home.

Deck view is spectacular! Treehouse Pinot Noir 2009 was rough, so was the Rollins Pinot Noir 2009. Maryhurst Pinot Noir 2009 was better but it tasted more like table wine than anything else. This place was practically packed when my partner and I got in on a Saturday afternoon. We saw a group of ladies doing winery tours for a bachelorette party. We saw another group of family(young and old) picnicking(yes they brought their own food). The service was friendly and attentive despite the large constant crowd. This was the place where the server recommended Nostrana(awesome Italian food with gnocchi to die for). This is an interesting winery as they also carry other merchandises such as chocolates and coffee beans. Wines were meh but everything else — not bad.

This was a lovely place. We’ve been wine tasting in the area for years. This was a most enjoyable location. The day we went there was a bus and a limo or two there. They were full of 20 something giggling girls which completely got on my nerves but once they left it was a serene place. There were five wines for the tasting this day. The tasting fee is $ 10 which is waived with a wine purchase. We took our recent purchase out on the deck with our cheese and crackers that we brought with us and hung out in the sun. May 1st was the first day this year we’ve actually had sun so it was very enjoyable. Please note, don’t try and open a wine from another vineyard there, they will tell you no. It makes sense. So, we opened a bottle we got there. They offered wine glasses but we always bring our own stainless steel ones in our back pack so we were all set. They even recorked it for us when we had some left in the bottle. I’ll definitely be back here again.

This was our third tasting for the day. Absolutely beautiful grounds with a newly built tasting room with high ceilings and large windows allowing summer light and relaxing views onto the vines. A perfect choice for lunching on the deck with our brought bread and cheeses. Personally, wines were more impressive here. Their rose was pleasant and I could imagine staying there for an entire summer afternoon. However, we walked away with their 2007 Fourmen and 2008 Piedmont. Both had wonderful structure, scrumptious flavor and a smooth mouthfeel. Pinot Noir never tasted so good. They also sell chocolate grown on the Big Island of Hawai’i that looked delectable. However, no distributor for their wines in Hawai’i exist at this time. Nice. I like bringing home stuff you can’t get.
