Buffet was very high quality. The best veg buffet in Atlanta. At $ 10, overpriced. For $ 11 go to their sister restaurant in Alpharetta and get meat.

I am from South India. One of the restaurants being closest to authenticity of South Indian food in the US. Please understand, that there is no restaurant in the US as authentic as the ones in south India, that is a fact — the primary reason being the ingredients that are available geographically. While this restaurant takes every effort to provide great food at very low cost

The food here is awesome! Great variety of dishes. All tasty and some spicy but I love it. So if you are a fan of Indian cuisine or never tried it you definitely need to try this place. Even though some of the dishes are spicy they are still very tasty. The food has great flavor and the same goes for the deserts. I am a bit familiar with Indian dishes and I can tell you that this is one of he best places to enjoy a great Indian vegetarian dish. Plus the staff is very courteous and helpful. I think once you have tried it you will be a repeat visitor and you will definitely tell your friends and family to go try it. And they wouldn’t be disappointed. Also, The décor is great as well.

Despite seeing the good reviews, was hesitant when I got to the parking lot as it was empty — changed my mind quickly as the restaurant was nice inside. Went with a friend since we were craving dosa. We were seated immediately and through our meal the service was great. The menu had plenty of options and a variety of dosa, and awesome cause the whole menu is vegetarian. My friend got a samosa chaat to start which she really enjoyed. The samosa was crispy and there was plenty of chutney and yogurt on top. I got the mini idli which was simple but just what I wanted. For my meal I got the coconut onion rava masala dosa — and it was great. The portion was huge, such that I took some home. It was flavorful and crispy, the sambar and coconut chutney was delicious. Will definitely be back

This my current favorite Indian restaurant. The lunch buffet is light and fresh and changes from day to day so you can go often. It’s a bargain and so is the dinner thali which easily feeds two. Add a beautiful space and what more could you want!

This place is a vegetarian’s heaven. As someone who has a lot of experience with Indian food, I can also say that it is great Indian food. Dosas are their highlights, obviously, but all of the«curry» dishes are great. They have both home cooked Indian foods and street foods. Definitely try it if you like Indian or are a vegetarian, or just want to have a great meal!

This is a South Indian vegetarian restaurant. I don’t enjoy much on a lunch menu. Taste is average. Since they opened recently, the dining area is spotless including restrooms. I think for a vegan person, this restaurant will be Good. I would consider a restaurant that serve food with quality instead of quantity. If the restaurant like to see their customers returning, chef need to serve food with«Delicioso» in mind. Chat pati serves much better vegetarian food which is 5min away.

The gold standard of South Indian vegetarian cuisine is thali eaten on a freshly washed banana leaf, with steaming hot rice, fresh tamarind in the rasam, a pinch of salt, and the sounds and smells of an Indian village. It may be impossible to truly replicate the food of South India in Decatur, but Madras Mantra comes close. And it is not easy. The vegetables grown in India are selected more for taste than size, and the soils, the weather, and the locally sourced Indian ingredients all make big difference in how the food tastes. Nevertheless, the many locals who eat here suggests that Madras Mantra is on the right path. If they continue to evolve with the seasonal vegetables in Georgia and find local growers who value freshness, taste, and nutrition, they might achieve the impossible. One day local Indians might return home and say, «Its good, but it just doesn’t have that Georgia taste.», ha ha. Hey, it might just happen! Madras Mantra is one of, if not the best Indian restaurant in Atlanta. Order the thali and think of a South Indian village.

Tilak and I can’t get enough of Madras Mantra. The owners are delightful and the food has not disappointed us. We did a recent takeout of samosas with chai — really hit the spot. The veggie biryani was also amazing.

3.5 stars. Formerly called Saravana Bhavan, this is still one of the best dosa places in the metro Atlanta area. If you like spice, I recommend the Andhra Khara dosa or the Mysore Masala dosa… both delicious and a little spicy. Only negative against this place(and it’s actually kind of a big deal) is that the chutneys and sambhar are not all that tasty. Ask any south Indian and he/she will tell you that chutney and sambhar are essential parts of a good meal. Would like to try Chat Patti and Madras Chettinaad for proper comparison.

Solid four stars from me. I’m not a connoisseur of Indian cuisine by any means so I can’t go into great detail with regard to each particular dish I tried however, everything was DELICIOUS and seasoned to perfection. I ordered the samosa appetizer and while is was amazing it was on the spicier side so if you’re like me and can’t take the heat this is one you could steer clear of. Both my husband and I had great experiences with our entrees. I’m was thoroughly impressed and can’t wait to return! Service was a tad slow but other than that, this place gets my vote!

The food was very mediocre and over priced. I love vegetarian food but their food was bland. They didn’t have one of the entrees we wanted. They don’t have any spicy chutney. One of the chutneys we wanted was also out towards the end. The service was ok I guess. Overall, a very mediocre restaurant with average bland food at best. Overpriced!

i used to be a huge fan of Saravana Bhavan when there were here(not sure why they went out of business). Madras mantra can definitely server as a replacement for Saravana Bhavan(atleast to a part). They have typical south Indian menu and is very close to Saravana Bhavan. We ordered button idli, bisibela bath and Palak Paneer dosa. The best was the idli(served with 3 chutneys and sambar), very soft and the coconut chutney served with is is tasty. the bisibelabath(BBB) was straight sambar rice served with raita and some lemon and vegetable pickle, though not great it was not bad either. funny enough I liked the Raita and the pickle more than the BBB. The palak paneer dosa was good, but i personally dont like dosas that has stuffing in it as the dosa loses the crispy texture. But the nice part is this is one of the best Indian restaurant when it comes to cleanliness and ambiance. the restrooms are very clean and the remodeled the place which looks much classier.

Beautifully renovated. Probably the best Indian in Atlanta. Dinner prices are very reasonable. My favorite dish is the special thali which gets you a little bit of everything. The garlic naan is incredible!
