Amazing atmosphere, helpful employees, great place to use the free Wi-Fi and get some productive work going. I stop in almost every day and grab a coffee for my boss. Highly recommended.

This is one of my favorite places to go and get work done. Admittedly, I have not tried many of the food/sandwich options(I’m a vegan, so options are always pretty limited– I don’t blame them for that), but what I have tried, I’ve enjoyed. My friend came with me and he liked his panini quite a bit. I’ve never had any issues at all with milk vs soy milk in my tea, they always let me pour it myself. Bonus because they don’t charge extra for it like some places do. It’s funny to me that people have found the atmosphere to be somber or depressing, because to me it’s soothing, perfect for when I have to get writing done. Admittedly, it is empty sometimes, but I’d blame that on Legacy Place being so close by; fewer people come to that side of Dedham anymore. I think it’s an awesome café to go sit and talk with friends in, particularly because the atmosphere is so calm. And I’ve never had anything but excellent service. The employees have always seemed upbeat and pleasant in a way that strikes me as genuine. Dedham Square Coffeehouse is high on my list, and I’d encourage you to check it out if you’re in the area.

This place is great. Lots of tables and no one shouting«skinny vanilla latte for Ashley» at the top of their lungs. Great place to chill out(they have couches) or do some work(quiet atmosphere and great wifi). I’d give the coffee 3.5 out of 5 stars, but the reality is that no one goes to coffee shops for coffee. You go to meet and talk or do work. This place is perfect for that. Also great parking lot across the street(even has free electric car charging if that is your thing).

Great atmosphere and relaxing environment perfect for enjoying a nice Cappuccino with friends. They gave desserts and sandwiches as well and weekend music. A couple of tables outside make it a nice spot to enjoy the sun and coffee while people watching. Will make this my go to spot after shopping or work.

More caffeine to top off the day! They have pastries from Modern Pastry from North Beach. Very tasty!

I come here in the am when I don’t have time to visit my regular hang out. To start out with, this place is dead. It is 7:30am and I am the only person In here even though there is a guy outside with a giant sign that says free coffee! There pastry selection is pretty weak. And there are no signs to tell you what it is. I just happened to pick up a chocolate croissant last week that was tasty but that was just a crap shoot. I wish they had a bigger breakfast menu. The coffee is pretty good though. And the owner seems like a nice guy. Just wish it was cozier.

I am torn on this place. On the one hand it is such a cool space! It’s massive, just totally huge and unexpected, with great art on the walls, a mix of chairs, tables, and even sofas. It’s really comfortable and I really don’t want to see it go out of business. It’s unfortunate it seems dead all the time. They have a good mix of food. The nachos are great. But on the other hand I kind of understand why it’s dead. I really expected it to be the life of High Street with the live bands and games advertized. Instead it’s just a very solemn, somber atmosphere most of the time(I haven’t been there for a band yet), and the music on the speakers doesn’t improve that, and neither does some of the customer service. I don’t want to be too specific but there’s just an unfriendliness to the place, even if the two other employees I’ve seen have been friendly and accommodating. I just really hope some of the reviews here inspire the owner to liven the place up a bit and make it friendlier and more exciting more of the time. As for the food, the grilled cheese should have more cheese, but it’s pressed great. The tomato soup is okay. The nachos are great but need way more toppings. The mac and cheese is honestly really really week and kind of gross and tastes worse than store-bought. It’s not that hard to melt cheddar and get good pasta.

This place is horrible. My friends and I went to get a quick bite to eat and ordered some sandwiches and nachos and Mac and cheese. Everything was prepackaged and gross. The Mac and cheese was stouffers, the salsa was from Tostitos, and the paninis were served slathered in cottage cheese. I just don’t understand why you can’t make your own food if you’re going to charge so much money for it. If I wanted stouffers Mac and Tostitos salsa I could just go to a gas station. Not worth any of your business.

I’ve only had two items on their menu. First, the best Mocha Iced coffee I’ve ever had and for lunch one of their panini’s. It was good and i will be back to try another one.

I so want to like this place but to be honest it’s kind of depressing when you walk in. And their panini’s are pretty lame. Coffee drinks were fine but nothing memorable. They just need a jolt of energy!

The children who work here act as if to say«Wahhhh! I work in this coffee shop. I make coffee and panini’s all day. I’d much rather be at Coachellla! Wahhhhh!» — I’ve given this place way too much time and money. with their shitty service and even shittier art. I recently visited this place for lunch. I specified skim milk in my latte. When the dude handed it to me, it looked like coffee milk(I know this because I’m from Rhode Island) I immediately said«This was made with skim milk, right?» He said«Yep» and walked away. Seriously? I mean, thank god I don’t have some kind of medical condition with whole milk, because I’d definitely be in trouble. My panini arrived with a beautiful frown from a grouchy little girl. Spend your money at Mocha Java. They are cheerful and actually give a shit(or at least act like they do). 1 star because I have to 1 star for a decent panini(for what that’s worth)

My 7 year old calls it «The-Best-Grilled_cheese-In-The_world_place» — and I have to agree! Great soups and sandwiches, and bakery items from Modern Pastry! Great coffee & ambience, too. AND live music on weekend evenings with beer & wine! My husband and I have sampled the music 3 different times — each act was fabulous! Love this little hangout in Dedham Square!

Came here last night for some live music, and I have to say that I’m a fan. Cozy ambiance complete with a fireplace, pretty good setup for artists, lots of seating, friendly service, and a wide beer selection make for a great venue. I can’t speak for the food, but they have an amazing selection of domestics and imported beers for a smaller café including my favorite — Pilsner Urquell — as well as non-alcoholic beverages for all you teetotalers. I actually had a hot chocolate to start off, which was just ok, but it really hit the spot on a snowy February night. The only downside is this place is a little off the map if you’re relying on public transportation from Boston, as it’s short bus ride from Forest Hills.

Very cute place! Great sandwiches, I’m especially a fan of the roasted red pepper grilled cheese. They have live music on the weekends(I’m not sure if this is all the time), and some tables outside. They also have a pretty large selection of bottled beer which makes this place unique for a local café. If you’re wandering through Dedham, give it a try.

Paradise Café keeps changing, and for the better. I went in earlier this week in the evening and they’ve moved the beers display(well chosen selection of craft brews) to make more room for tables, which is a good thing, because Paradise Café has built a good head of steam to showcase regional music in a warm, friendly and energetic space. Recent bookings have included songwriters in the round, an acoustic Led Zeppelin group, and excellent indie rock. I hear their monthly Open Mic is good, too. People are also coming to the Paradise for dinner and lunch(the paninis are a specialty), to sip a slow cup on their comfy couch in the quieter morning and afternoon hours, to meet up with friends(they have a board games night that’s a blast), and to plan out theater, music and political events and campaigns. There’s well prepared café fare(though not a full-on restaurant, its selections are tasty), delicious coffees and teas, a comfortable casual space, plenty of space and small tables for intimate heart-felt conversations, low-key Euro-style service. .. and an energetic and thriving music scene. Amazing how the owner has kept the space open and active throughout the years. Change is good. .. and at Paradise Café it’s even better.

Went in at 1pm on memorial day expecting a Starbucks-esque café with wrapped sandwiches prepared earlier and possibly the night before. I was pleasantly surprised to find fresh paninis and a hipster atmosphere. I had a delicious tuna sandwich, chips and salsa(with just the right amount of casual kick to it), a crispy side salad, and a smoothie(smoothie sucked, tasted like a slurpee). Atmosphere is awesome, lots of local art on display(for sale!), chill dim lighting, couches to chat on(the place send to double as a music venue), bathrooms are clean. Overall I would really recommend coming here time and time.again.

Upon entering Paradise Café you are hit with very somber/low key music. It appears they support local musicians so I don’t know if they are playing their albums, which is nice but sort of depressing. It’s a mix of slow, lethargic, and classical melodies. On a bright, sunny, weekend you should be playing upbeat tunes and have the coffee shop environment busy with chit chat. I got a prosciutto and tomato Panini. Mind you I love prosciutto and know me a good sandwich! It had legit one piece of fatty tasting prosciutto on it and one tomato and some basil leaves. In addition to a dressing that tasted like tomato paste or marinara sauce. I think I paid about $ 8.00 or so for this… the best thing was the Angry Orchard Cider. My boyfriend wasn’t impressed with his sandwich either. For the price the quality was 100% lacking. I would recommend heading to JP for the day for a nice café experience at City Feed! I will say their coffee was good. Unfortunately, I would not go again.

Well, I’m definitely going back so that says something. Of course, the options for cafes in the general area are sorely lacking. This place was dead when I went in mid-morning, but by the time lunch rolled around there were more people coming by for the food. It’s a decent space, has some nice brick and good seating options. A few plugs are good thing too. However, I didn’t feel quite welcomed when I showed up. I only ordered a tea to start with which I’m sure didn’t make the owner happy given that he only charges $ 1.80 for tea. Still, if he wants to make regular customers, I think he should realize that he needs people coming back for more. I went back for coffee and a sandwich which seemed to cheer him up. My panini was tasty actually. The bread wasn’t overtoasted as is common with paninis. No «wet cheese» as another reviewer said. Although it was cheesy and good. I heard someone praise the lentil soup which I didn’t see, so I might try that if I’m there again. It seems like people regard this as a lunch establishment rather than a place to hang out and have their morning coffee. There is decent wifi(although I was greeted none-to-happily when I asked for the password). All in all: a mixed bag. Could be better.

I have been to this Resturant/coffee shop many times. The atmosphere is nice with different seating options– tables, bar tables, and sofas to sit on. They have a nice selection of lunches including several soups, salads and sandwiches. I enjoy the coffee here and you can get some pastries as well. They offer classes to the community inside the building, My kids took theater & art classes here.

First off, the classification as a video rental store is not quite right. They are also a café, and they offer art classes for children as well. They also have a small retail section for DVDs and VHS. They’re open quite late as well. The video section is quite nice and organized. New rentals were I think $ 4.99 for a week. They seemed to mostly have DVDs, although I think there were some VHS as well. The café seemed quite adorable. I think they have wireless, but I couldn’t say for sure. The pastries looked unbelievably delicious. I’ll have to update my review once I’ve tried the café section!
