I have my Latte there almost everday. I work closeby. Sometimes, I will come down from Westwood on the weekend also. Good coffee and nice people work there.

I love this coffee shop! The staff are prompt and kind and the lattes are delicious! My personal favorite is the butternut crunch latte with almond milk!

An independent book store and independent coffee shop in the same space?! Amazing!

The staff who work here are above and beyond with friendliness, and have had great recomendations when I’ve wanted to try something new(the Banana and chocolate latte is so.good.) In addition to the wide drink variety, there’s also a nice selection of pastries. This store is a little bit out of my way, but when I have enough time I definitely prefer to come here for coffee, as opposed to other shoppes.

One of the best cappuccino’s I’ve had. When I asked for less foam he made it exactly as I like it in about 1 minutes time. Two thumbs up for sure!

Great! Great service with a smile and the coffee shop is cozy. It’s a good spot to meet in Dedham square, being just across the street from free parking in the lot.

Really great flavored iced coffee, which is hard to find in this part of the state(why is flavored iced coffee varieties outside of Dunkin Donuts such a South Shore thing and not anywhere else?) Anyway, if you’re like me and you’re sick of hearing about pretentious coffee that is described by bow-tie wearin kombucha-drinkin hipster idiots who only consume things to make them appear to be living a certain lifestyle rather than the fact that they just actually enjoy them as «really good coffee» when all you are looking for are some variety in flavored iced coffees then this place is for you. Great flavored coffees, lots of options, really well made and the staff was really friendly. I got the cinnamon sticky bun coffee. So good! They also make them iced, hot or as lattes. I was really happy with the quality of the flavor shots and the coffee wasn’t overbearing, bitter or burnt. It really made the added flavor come out.

I’ve been here twice and will definitely be visiting again for espresso beverages. — by far, the best iced mocha I’ve ever had. — iced coffee is very weak, I threw it out after two sips. hated it. I turned right around and ordered the mocha instead. — food looked good, haven’t tried it yet. — service is okay, I’ve met three baristas in the two trips I’ve made there and they were pleasant enough but didn’t go out of their way to welcome a newcomer or make a suggestion. just kind of fake-smiled and jumped right back on their phones after ringing me up.

Great frozen drinks. The staff is very friendly and attentive to their customers. The espresso drinks are the best option. The other options like iced coffee is not my fav — but I am very picky. It is MUCH better than Dunkin Donuts and the sort … but the Espresso drinks are REALLY where Mocha Java shines. I tend to favor this stop over Starbucks and find it to be the best option in the Dedham area.

I really like to frequent local places as opposed to chains, however, I will not be going back to Mocha Java. The latte was bitter and the muffin was dry and stale. The young boy behind the register was off putting(though the barista was nice!). Too bad as it’s convenient.

Monday I was working in an area with few choices. Asked SURI for the closest coffee house in walking distance. OMG, I am writing this ten minutes later(got posted a few days later). Delicious! Got the mocha with cinnamon and honey, sweetened perfectly! Also got a blueberry muffin, much better than their competitors. Thanks Mocha Java for a great first impression. Will be sending business your way! Already told 3 co– workers.

Came here to get a couple of drinks with a friend. Greeted by 2 young workers. Very friendly folks and clean place. Décor is welcoming. They had art that can be purchased by the walls. They made a couple of recommendations for drinks. Really good. Definitely a place to come back to.

If you’re looking for the place where all the locals go for 5-star espresso faves — Mocha Java is the real deal. Family-owned And operated — where the staff knows everyone’s name — Mocha Java offers lots of great pastries, flavored coffees, ground beans on request — but I love the classic latte in a large mug and saucer. In good weather you can sit outside on the sidewalk on bistro chairs and enjoy historic downtown Dedham Square. Mocha Java is a huge supporter of community/civic events too. They show exactly the kind of customer service & extra effort that great indie shops are known for. Excellent espresso drinks — made piping hot to order. Great selection of whole beans too — also ground to order.

I want to like Mocha Java as it’s only 1 mile from home. And I’ve been a number of times, giving it another chance. But I’m tired of receiving the weakest coffee around. Yesterday was the last draw. I ordered an ice coffee that was so light it’s laughable. It wasn’t even black before I went to put milk in it. It looked like iced tea as I can see my fingers through the other side of the cup. I don’t generally drink black coffee because it’s usually too bitter for my taste without some milk in it, but I have to drink Mocha Java’s coffee black because it is that weak. When Dunkin Donuts is serving much stronger coffee than you, you cannot call yourself a coffee shop. It makes me feel like their taking me for my money by stretching their coffee to way too thin and they know it. I won’t give them just 1 star because the specialty beverages, like the mocha, is acceptable, but regardless, they’ve lost my business.

My boyfriend and I are in Mocha Java every weekend getting Iced Mocha’s… a favorite. It’s great to be able to support a local coffee shop! The staff is very friendly.

Great coffee, great service, cool atmosphere. A bit small — but it is a coffee shop, not a function hall. They have a honor system lending library, snazzy coffee names, and an in-house cribbage board. What more could you ask for?
