Tried it tonight for the first time. + Very good! Great chicken, crust & vegetables. Good mashed potatoes and corn bread too. — A little on the«plain» side. I would go for some other types of vegetables(its only carrots and potatoes), but at least there is no mushrooms!

I tried the chicken and vegetable pie and could not be happier. Chock full of meat with a light delicious sauce. Best pot pie I have tried. Service was quick and friendly.

I really liked the chicken pie but the counter girl was sullen and uncooperative(I bought my pie at 6:00pm Friday 11⁄14) but a lovely young man came out and saved the day by taking a prebaked pie out of the oven and giving it to me. I didn’t know that the prebaked had to be ordered in advance but the young man knew that a pie hadn’t been picked up and was eager to sell it. Great, chicken loaded pie. The young lady needs to learn the basics of customer service.

pis are Ok, service is rude. 2 employees, standing there, looking at phones, trying not to make eye contact with me. like maybe i’ll just go away. there are a lot of complaints about service, i don’t get why management doesn’t address this.

What a disappointment. After patronizing their other locations over the years, it was such a disappointment to come to this store. First, the staff were rude. Second, they were out of chicken pies at 330 on a Saturday… they close at 730! Third, they were out of potatoes and gravy. The staff did not care and this location is pathetic. No wonder such negative reviews are online about this place; go to their other locations! Steer clear of this one!

I’m updating my review to reflect my positive experience with the main office after calling to report my negative experience with the Dedham store. They responded quickly and took my complaint seriously. I appreciated that. I did return to the store for the less complicated uncooked pies and it was a better experience. I hope the service continues to improve in Dedham.

It was delicious as usual. I still wish they made away for you to be able to take a frozen pie home and microwave it instead of waiting along time to reheat it in the oven. Just like the other locations, no seating. They also have side items and deserts. The parking lot is very small but I guess it’s sufficient. Remember to call ahead if you want the pie hot & ready to eat or you can get it frozen and do the stove thing.

This is a great place to stop at on the way home. Easy to pick up delicious pot pies if you don’t feel like prepping dinner. The drive through makes it a breeze and the pot pies are excellent.

Carb Heaven… I know I should have just stuck with a chicken pie, but I decided to try something different for dinner that I could just microwave and tried the mac & cheese. It was OK. Just OK. I wouldn’t get it again, but I ate it, mind you. I mean, people are starving in the world and I don’t want to be one of them. FANTASTIC chewy, carb-laden white-flour Parker-House type rolls. LOVETHEM. Bags of 6 and 12 at the counter. Totally addictive :) Nice girls at the counter, lots of parking, quick and easy to get in and out.

Delicious. Seriously. We came here for lunch and it was outstanding. I called ahead, as per their websites direction, and the huge pie was waiting for us when we arrived. Hot and fresh. We ordered the largest size because there were 5 of us and we had plenty plus leftovers. I brought some home to my husband and even he loved it. This is a great addition to dedhams local businesses.

Never again. I called ahead to order an individual sized chicken pot pie. Wasn’t worth turning the oven on for 1 pot pie. It was ready when they said it would be. I took 4 bites and couldn’t finish the rest. The«gravy» was white gelatinous goop. I was looking forward to a brown gravy and was thrown back by what I got. The crust on top of the pie was like a wafer/cracker of some sort. I could have peeled it right off the top and eaten as a cracker. It doesn’t look like the crust in the 1st photo listed. I wanted to like it but just couldn’t. The staff were friendly, no problem there. Take out only. From what I was told these pies are the same as the other Harrow’s locations. Also, they don’t sell any beverages so if you plan on ordering ahead and eating it in your car bring something to drink.

We had the jumbo pie with meat only. The chunks of chicken were huge. We had peas and carrots on the side, which we just added in, as not everyone cares for veggies. Also served it with our own butternut squash and cran. sauce. It was the tastiest store bought pot pie we have ever had. I just got another one with veggies and will have it tomorrow, if I can wait that long. The crust was flaky and delicious. As far as these reviews, I don’t understand. It was an incredible comfort food for a nice cold night. Harrow’s keep up the good work. I can understand why your business has been around for so many years.

I don’t know why the negative reviews. We stopped by to pick up a pie right after the place opened and was quite satisified. Our pie was loaded(and I mean loaded) with white chicken meat, enough veggies and a delicious gravy. No strange smell. A yummy treat. I guess if you are that dissatisfied, give them a call, explain the situation, and see if they will refund your money or give you another pie gratis.

I saw the new store in Dedham, then I read the article in the Herald about how GREAT these pies are. I also watched Phantom Gourmet and they raved about the chicken and vegetables in the pot pie… so when I was driving by I decided to stop and try them for dinner last Tuesday night. The first thing I smelled when I walked in was this wonderful Apple Pie smell, it just took me away and I purchases a hot, chicken and vegetable pot pie and a still hot Apple Pie, the smells permeated my car all the way home, I was starving for a piece of both! When I cut open the Chicken Pot PIe I was extremely disappointedd to see 4 microscopic pieces of carrot, 5 or 6 pite-sized pieces of chicken and the crust of course with gravy and I’m not sure if the rest was mashed potatos or uncooked crust. The pie itself was unremarkable, not a lot of flavor and no vegetables to speak of, I added carrots and peas to make it a little healthier. Then we decided to try the Apple Pie, we could still smell it while we ate the unfullfilling pot pie. THis has got to be the WORST apple pie I have ever eaten, and trust me I’ve made some bad apple pies in my time. The spices smelled wonderful but the apples were mushy, hard and tart and the crust was exactly the same as the por pie crust with a little sugar sprinklewd on it… how many ways can I say AWFUL. I will never eat one of their productsd again, in my opinion this was slop food. They must have paid Phantom Gourmet a large sum of money to promote them cause the food SUCKS.

Tried a large chicken pie from the new Dedham store, It was marked veg… It was not. Just chicken and lots of very thick gravy. My wife and I, did not like it at all. I would not buy again.

Love the chicken pies with vegetables. They also have delicious, chewy dinner rolls and fruit pies. A great option if you do not feel like cooking.

I stopped by Harrows the other day and ordered the largest chicken pie, with no vegetables. The crust was good but I didn’t like the smell of the pie, it didn’t taste very good at all. I served some for my friends it was the same vote for everyone, no one liked the pie because of the smell I thought the pies were made there fresh everyday, nope the are all frozen! So the meaning of fresh chicken pies does not apply. If you want one hot they need 1 ½ hours to prepare. My mom made better chicken pies fresh here at home, there is a big difference Sorry, I can’t recommend Harrows pies, nor can my friends. Thumbs down from all of us here, and you will not see me there again!

I have seen Harrow’s advertised on Phantom Gourmet 60 million times. I have been wanting to venture out to Medford or Saugus to get one, but live on the Dedham line. All of a sudden I saw that Harrow’s opened a store on Rte 1. I was like let’s go! I bought the round pie. I think they said it was the family size. It was $ 16 and change. It was worth every penny. Some pot pies have this really thick gravy and you are left feeling like you ate a bowling ball. This pie is nice and light. The bulkiness is in the crust which is unbelievably fresh, and the gravy is slightly thickened and the veggies all cut the same size. The chicken is fresh and in nice big pieces. I usually buy Mrs. Budd’s at the grocery store but that is crap compared to this pie. If I buy the same size as Mrs Budd’s the rectangular one, I think it’s like $ 12 for Harrow’s. Mrs Budd’s is only $ 5 or $ 6. But… you get what you pay for. This tastes like homemade. It is by far superior to anything you’d get in the supermarket. If you like Chicken pot pie, I highly recommend Harrow’s. I’m glad they came into my neighborhood!
