We’ve been coming to this location for last 7 years, the ice cream is good, but mostly because we can walk here from our house. Over the years a number of things are getting worst and worst. Let’s start with nonexistent customer service. The place is typically understaffed, hence if it’s a warm day, be prepared to wait in a very long line, but that’s not employees’ fault it’s the management. Employees are mostly teenagers who have very little knowledge about the product and have more interest in gossiping than helping customers. Cleanliness — what’s that? More often than not the tables and chairs are sticky from dozens of patrons who came before you. I particularly enjoy blobs of ice cream that have melted and ran off the table onto the chair and the floor. I suggest you do not visit the bathrooms as they are more disgusting than most portapotties. The product — ice cream is pretty good but if you ask for anything to be mixed in you may end up with moldy nuts or gummies/marshmallows that are as hard as the soles of your rubber boots. My «favorite» experience took place over the Father’s Day weekend. Naturally there was a huge line, where I patiently waited with my two kids, after ordering 2 kids size ice creams and paying extra for addition«mixed» in ingredients, the ingredients were sprinkled on top instead of being mixed in. When I asked why I was told they don’t mix in for kids size. This was 1st in last 7 years. I guess this was the 1st employee who followed store policy in the last 7 years. Oh well, I think next time we’ll check out the new ice cream place in the mall.

On one hand, I left this Cold Stone with exactly what I wanted — a «like it» size of Birthday Cake Remix. On the other hand, I left feeling incredibly old, dusted in teenage angst. This Cold Stone is just a few feet from the movie theater, so it’s no surprise that teens flock here more often than Bieber acts like a tool. When my husband and I had a hankering for a 1,200 calorie ice cream treat post dinner, we found this Cold Stone just a few miles away. When we originally couldn’t find it in the shopping center, I called to ask a bit more direction a la: Me: Hi, can you please tell me where you’re located? Employee: Deer Park Me: I’m aware — I was hoping for something more specific, like near which store? Employee: Where are you? Me: The shopping center. Are you near Anthropologie, etc? Employee: We’re next to the movie theater. Me: Great. Thanks. Employee:(click) So, there’s that. Once we walked into the shop I could see why he might be a little cranky. There were no fewer than 20 teenagers vying for their significant others’ attention while ordering buckets full of delicious ice cream creations. Hubs and I got out treats and got out of there as fast as our *old* legs could carry us. If you can handle a bit of sass from customers and employees alike, gird your loins and head into this Cold Stone.

Terrible customer service. Epitome of «I don’t care. It is not my problem.» The ice cream is good but service is horrendous. Bought a birthday cake here for my daughter and it was plain and no effort. When asked about it they said«you didn’t specify decorations.» … Well it is a birthday cake for a 10 year old … So do something. Disappointed by the lack of care.

I took my family here because I had a coupon through the Entertainment Book to purchase a second Like It/Love It/whatever for $.99. It wasn’t until I got to the cash register that there was a sign posted that said«No coupons». I asked if they would take my coupon anyway and was denied. There should be a sign visible from the outside sharing this information. I could have made a choice then not to go in, but once my kids had already chosen and watched their treats be created, I couldn’t walk away.

Amazing ice cream! But the service is ridiculous! They have young kids that work there who are unprofessional and lazy. But the ice cream is to awesome to stay away!

And that’s the bottom line cause Cold Stone said so. It’s kind of surprising that there aren’t too many Cold Stone’s left. A lot of frozen yogurt places have popped up but this location has remained for years. While this is a chain ice creamery it doesn’t feel like one. How Baskin Roobins feels very franchised this place feels like a neighborhood ice creamer parlor with better flavors. While the prices here may be a little high than a normal ice cream shop it is definitely worth it. The option to add sides such as whole Reeses peanut butter cups or M & M’s is awesome & makes the ice cream taste that much better. This particular Cold Stone has always been clean when I have been there & the service is always pretty good. The location is convenient as well because it is located in the Deer Park mall & is right next to the movie theater. Overall the place is clean, the service has been good, the location is convenient & the ice cream is delicious. I would definitely come here again if I was in the area.

Okay, so yes Cold Stone is a chain and it’s in a lot of places but it’s still yummy and worth a review. This specific location is usually busy in the summertime so if you’re coming on a week night when there’s tons of people and kids, be prepared to wait a little bit. They allow you to sample whichever flavor you would like prior to ordering which is nice but I always stick to my usual that I’ve been ordering for about ten years which is my cake batter with marshmallows. It’s simple, all white and tasty. Here’s what I’m not a fan of Cold Stone is their prices. $ 4 or $ 5 for a small is a lot in my opinion and you don’t get that much and it’s technically called a like it. Sometimes, when I’m not feeling like a lot of ice cream, I get the kids size which is like $ 3.50 and that may or may not fulfill my craving for that day. So to be safe, and to get your moneys worth it’s actually better to get there love it size which is like a medium in other ice cream shops. They also have the gotta have it which is the large and that’s a little too much for me unless you’re sharing with someone, but Cold Stone ice cream, because it’s really fatty and high in calories, melts super fast, so I don’t like that I have to feel rushed while eating it even if I’m sitting inside in an AC room. Because if you go outside in 90 degree Chicago heat, you can predict your ice cream to be melted in about 3 minutes and then you have white looking sweet milk. So yes, cake batter is definitely my favorite flavor but I also like sweet cream, cheesecake and chocolate cake batter. They have tons of mix ins if you want to spice things up but like I said your bill will quickly add up here. The last couple of times we went, the people working weren’t super friendly but I think that if I was serving up scoops of ice cream all day everyday, I wouldn’t be my usual peachy self. Overall, Cold Stone is okay, it’s not my favorite but I go at least once a year when I’m in the area and I get that craving. Plus, it’s on a nice plaza to go shopping after you get your ice cream fix.

The night shift was not the nicest. One of the workers just gave us an evil glare and stood there, didn’t even take our order, just stood there. When we walked in their faces dropped, they obviously didn’t want us to be there. Also, they messed up our orders and gave us the wrong size, but on the good side the ice cream was delicious.

This location is tucked away in the back of a shopping mall. We were in the mood for some ice cream, so we sought the place out, but I think the location leaves a lot to be desired. Anyhow, the ice cream was good, but the chocolate waffle cone I had seemed a tad stale. I ended up eating the ice cream and leaving the cone. Service was friendly and the store was clean and bright.

Because of its price, I may not visit a Cold Stone as often as any other ice cream parlor. I’m sad the Cold Stone on Diversey at Clark didn’t survive. This is the place to go for a serious ice cream creation, sundae or indulgance. I’m not sure I like the taste of their chocolate yogurt. This is the excuse I’m giving for ignoring what’s good for me and sticking with what I love! My only complaint about Cold Stone is the layout. As you wait in line, all you see are the condiments and Artists hard at work scraping together an order. The ice cream is on display in the middle. People inadvertantly cut in line trying to look over shoulders to see the ice cream and yogurt on display. The menu board doesn’t offer a list of avaialble flavors. Then again, I don’t waste my trip by asking for an ordinary scoop. In fact, I think they discourage it.
