One word: yes! Stopped in for lunch. Great food, affordable lunch specials, cool ambiance and southern hospitality. This could very well become a problem for me in that I just got home and am already thinking about going back for more. Update 12÷09÷15: I went back the next day for lunch, again. Yup. This is my new spot.

Like another reviewer, I have grown leery of good but not great«SuburbBQ» — seasoning apparently stands as an afterthought. Home made taste makes a difference with Carousel BBQ as the side dishes had flavor and freshness hinting at home cooking versus more institutional preparation. Macaroni, green beans, baked beans, and yams definitely tasted great — late Saturday greens had already disappeared. Oh, pulled pork, rib tips, and Texas Toast style sopping bread met expectations. Staff persons remained courteous and that also helps. They may need a bigger sign as the restaurant occupies the spot previously held by Lil Old Caboose. A second visit remains in order, along with a look at the schedule of their food truck.

The lunch special hit the spot. Good side choices. The ribs were a perfect mix of fall off the bone tender and grilled crispness. Great down home service.

I really enjoy the food here, the only reason I gave 4 star is because they have desert on the menu but there is non available

Great bbq. Sometimes not everything is available. The spare ribs and st. Lewis have been great. Dry rubbed and you add your own sauce which is great. You get to control how saucy you like them. The mac n cheese was nothing specials. Ribs comes with toast which was pretty good for toast. The baked beans were great as well as the yams. The yams reminded me of thanksgiving which is always amazing. The service is always friendly. A little pricey but food is good. You get what you pay for! Reminds me of a place you’d see on triple D!

Just being honest here. I have been living along the Powerline Road corridor in Deerfield Beach for almost 10 years. The fact is that this is a restaurant desert. The real estate here does not offer much in the way of an opportunity to establish good restaurants. The customer base here is pretty much devoid of good taste. So even if you open a good restaurant, the customer base will not support you over the long haul. So the restaurants come and go. I ordered the rib tips and the garlic crabs. I also ordered a side of greens and a side of yams. $ 28.00.00. The greens were very good and if you put a bucketful of them in front of me I would eat the whole bucket. The yams were pretty good as well. On the other hand, the crabs were 95% shell, and 5% dried up crab meat. Were that not the case, they are still impossible to actually eat. It’s just not worth the effort to extract 5% crab meat from the shells, especially if you don’t have the right tools. Maybe there is a trick, but I don’t know it, and likely, not many others know it. As for the rib tips, the only analogy that I can find is that I felt like I was gnawing on somebody’s knuckles. They were 95% gristle and 5% meat. I can’t justify the cost for shells and knuckles. I may go back and try a pulled pork sandwich for $ 7.00, but otherwise, count me out. I love the atmosphere. And the place has a real down home smell about it. But that’s not enough to bring me back.

I was stoked when I learned that a new BBQ place was opening nearby. I’ve been on a serious BBQ kick lately. Pulling into the parking lot instantly brought me back to my days as a young naïve child as I used to come to the little red caboose after going to Quiet Waters park with my family!!! Ahhhh the good old days lol. There are a few food trucks in the parking lot. I figured that was a good sign as my favorite BBQ place also started with a food truck and then built his brick and mortar location. The owner did a great job on decorating the interior. It looks like you are in a friend’s home in the south. They have a fairly limited menu. You place your order, pay and find a place to sit down. The employees bring your food out to you when it is ready. On my first visit I ordered the pulled pork with macaroni and cheese as well as baked beans. The pulled pork was just OK. It was barely warm and it did not taste fresh. It did have a nice smoked flavor to it. The BBQ sauce was slightly sweet and spicy. The baked beans were really good. They were sweet and tangy. The macaroni and cheese was AWFUL. It was cold, old and clumped together. There was a huge lump of «Cheese» that wasn’t even melted. I was shocked that the owner would serve this to a customer as opposed to recommending a different side dish. I took one bite and the rest went in the trash. I cut them some slack on my first visit since they had recently opened and that sometimes there can be off days in a restaurant. I ended up going back about a month after my initial visit to give them another shot. Since their slogan is, «Keep on ribbin» I figured to order ribs. I choose double baked beans as my side choices this time. The ribs came out fairly quickly and they looked delicious. After taking my first bite I realized that they were old. They were also miniscule in size so I literally got one bite of meat and that was it. What’s up with that? No bueno dude no bueno. Again I don’t complain about these things even though I should. I tried another rib and had the exact same experience so I ended up just eating the baked beans and tossed the rest of the ribs away ughhhh. I was very disappointed with the outcome of my second visit. So I learned my lesson the second time around. I would not go back to try them again. It hurts me to say that I wouldn’t recommend them either. In the words of officer Barbrady from South Park, «Move along people. There is nothing to see here.»

It was just ok for me. I live in Coconut Creek and was excited to hear that there was a BBQ place close by. The wife and I both had the rib tips dinner. I had green beans and Mac and cheese, the wife had collards with Mac and cheese. Nice size portions. Green beans were really good, Mac and cheese was very bland, collards were ok but I’ve had much better. The rib tips were tender, a mild smoke flavor, but again a little bland. There is only one option for BBQ sauce, it’s sweet, largely ketchup based, but no real spice or heat. I’ve had store bought sauces that I like better. If you want bold, tasty BBQ, this is not the place. I will continue to drive to Tom Jenkins for that. I’ll go back and maybe try the pulled pork or the fried fish/crab offerings because the location is convenient, but I certainly wouldn’t go out of my to go back.

I saw the review this restaurant on News Times and decided I had to try it, since good barbque in this area is rare. Well I loved the cute ambience. The pork was great. The mac and cheese was very soul food tatsing. The fries were seasoned just right. the hot wings were very fresh, the mild sauce was not what I’m used too but it was interesting. My favorite but not last was the green beans, they were cooked with pieces of pork. yummy yummy. We will def be back. I hope this is a permanent fixture.

Excellent BBQ that rivals Blue Willies. I and other coworkers have eaten here many times since it has opened. Depending on the time of day, some of the items may not be available for order. I personally have had the half rack baby back ribs, the pulled pork sandwich, candied yams, mac n cheese, and the BBQ sauce on the side. I highly recommended the green beans, ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were dry rubbed with a wonderful smoked spicy flavor. I also dipped the ribs in the BBQ sauce which is also excellent. The green beans have a lovely flavor and seasoning. The candied yams are fantastic, but very sweet. It it best to save those for a desert-like treat. The mac n cheese was just ok, nothing in the taste that stands out. I highly recommend trying this place for yourself.

Let me start of by saying I loved Shorty’s BBQ that was here in the area before and since that is a chain I was expecting this place to live up to its small business glory. I wanted to like this place but it seems they went out of their way to make me hate it. Walked in and ordered a quarter chicken white meat, it was dry not infused with BBQ flavor except for the skin. Can’t call it a BBQ place when I can make it at home just as easily and much better. … But wait there is more I tried asking for a cup for water since I don’t drink soda or anything like that. I was charged $ 2.15 for a cup since they don’t have clear cups for water, NOTHANKYOU. It doesn’t end there. My order was given to another gentleman for about 25 seconds before the server realized that it was my order. Of course any sane person would not take the food however it was my post-workout meal and I was desperate for food. Honestly everything was just amiss and I really had high hopes. Will never be visiting this place again and good luck to all those who venture in here.

Really wanted this place to be great, the area is void of good BBQ! ordered a ½ rack of baby backs. dry and hard, very dry. asked for beans and yams, got mac and cheese and yams.(i have a dairy allergy) so paid big bucks of a side of yams.
