Not from the Florida area, and in town on business, I drove past this place a couple times. Being a fan of Muddy Waters, the bluesman, the name caught my eye. This place has nothing to do with the blues. As I approached the front door, I noticed the outside patio. Lots of Acapulco shirts, parrots, and a mildly Jimmy Buffett theme. I decided to sit outdoors. All the tables outside we’re on gliders, sort of like a gliding picnic table. Thinking that this was annoying at first it turned out to be pretty cool. I mistakenly ordered the Pow Pow shrimp with fettuccine noodles, it actually was surprisingly great. I didn’t drink but it look like they had some pretty cool Caribbean style cocktails. The only negative thing I can say about this place, is my table was right in front of where you wait to be seated. I had a semi haggard looking woman, with a cigarette leaning on my table for about 10 minutes while she waited for her party arrive. I would definitely come back here on another trip, and would recommend it to other people.

I had not gone to Muddy Waters since my friend who worked here passed away so it was long overdue. Our party of 3 enjoyed the Key West vibe in Deerfield Beach & my son’s highlight was the parrot out front! I went a little nuts on apps; seared tuna, sesame style, which was good but the wasabi sauce it came with was awesome. The steamed clams were great!(Not a single one with sand, yay) Escargot was delish, even the 7 yr old agreed. Jumbo coconut shrimp entrée and the accompanying mango sauce was very tasty, however the rice that came with it was very bland and lacked flavor, only disappointment on that one. Kids grilled cheese & cup of dirt was very satisfying for the little one. Happy hour was a nice surprise. While neither adult in our party was trying to get crazy, the couple of drinks ordered were quite heavy on the ice. Waitress(Erin, I believe?) was extremely nice and patient and we went through their very extensive menu. Can’t wait to go back & try more food! I see they have karaōke…

You don’t expect such a fun venue, prompt service, great prices, and great food coming out of a strip mall in west Deerfield! It’s worth the drive off the beach for this place. Family owned and operated for over 15 years, this is a terrific locals hidden gem.

By far the Best oysters in town, growing up they were 50 cents each but have now recently gone up to 69 cents each but, worth every penny. Jumbo delicious oysters!

Stopped in for lunch while shopping. Fast friendly service. Outside dining is smoke/Vapor friendly. Large menu selection. Clams n Oysters to die for! Price is average for the area.

I passed through for a quick bite and it was definitely worthwhile. I tried the half rack of ribs and it was absolutely mind blowing. The type of meat that falls off the bone at the slightest touch yet still retains the smokey flavor that any good BBQ entrée should come with. However, the reason for 3 stars was the mediocre service among other things. We were seated outside and were waited on by an excitable young man that has a bit to learn. Besides that, we also had the coconut shrimp appetizer which was lackluster to put it lightly and quite dry. Other than that I know that from the quality of the ribs I’ll definitely be back to try more menu items.

Beautiful ambiance, great food & beverage, and fun staff. Can’t wait to make it up there again. I loved the Paella as it was the best I’ve ever had. Keep up the good work and thank you for an enjoyable experience! Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the server we had wasn’t very savy in that he didn’t bring side plates before app and had to be asked for napkins. The little things really go a long way to make an experience exceptional.

South Florida atmosphere! Busy place. Reasonable prices. Staff makes it worth the wait. Ask for Donna. Good food. Give her a try.

Very great environment, had a great chill night for my girlfriend’s 21st birthday. We’re definitely making this place our main bar. Service was great too at either outside seating and bar

Always iffy about going here but it’s so convenient. The food is okay and they have a lot of items on the menu. I have been to muddy waters about 5 times total and it seems to be the same story everytime. The outside service is very slow and they are not attentive at all to customers. Most of the time they seem to be talking to each other and not concerned about anything else. On the good side the drinks are definitely cheap and with a rewards card you can walk out of there with a meal and drink for 10 bucks. This place would get at least for stars, but the service is what ruins it.

We can’t get enough of their yummy oysters and happy hour priced bloody Mary’s. Their prices are awesome, and it feels like a divey type bar. A nice escape. It’s our little favorite place for oysters and some drinks while watching the game or enjoying the afternoon. Must check out of you’re passing through

We have been here many times and the food is great, our visit tonight was extremely disappointing! Four of us ordered 1 pound lobsters. 20 minutes after ordering our dinner,(we ate our salads and soups already) our waitress comes over and says that they are sold out of 1 pound lobsters, and offers us the 2.5 pound Maine lobster. That would have been fine we could have split 2, but the manager wanted to charge us full price of the 2.5 pound lobster, $ 70 versus charging $ 50 the price of 2– 1 pound lobsters. The manager had to go back and ask the chef if he can discount the main lobster to $ 50. He came back and said the chef is unable to do that. First off, you are the manager, why are you asking the chef if you can discount it. The manager said we can discount other items you have ordered, we only had $ 15 in a la carte items. We ended up closing out and leaving. This is not the proper way of doing business. You messed up and you should own your mistake! Cheers!

Stopped into muddy waters after a little fiasco at the dmv, boy did I need a cold one! Fun outside seating, but it’s around 85 degrees so I’ll take the AC inside at the bar. Nice Louisiana/southern style decorations inside are inviting, great menu choices and the bartenders are nice to boot. I had ordered a Stella, but I think somewhere in the back the lines were crossed. I drink Stella on the reg and this was a bit off. No big deal, as long as it’s cold it’s ok with me. 69¢ oysters looked amazing but it’s too early in the day for my mojo to be through the roof. Had the coconut shrimp and a side of the mud puppies, that I can only imagine are muddy’s spin on hush puppies. I’ll let you know…

This is a nice place for friends and family to go too nice place to watch sports and have a good meal, I was there for lunch, started with some clam chowder which was very thick but good taste, then I had blackened snapper which was seasoned perfect with black beans and rice. The waiters were pretty good considering the place was crowded, the restaurant is clean and reasonably priced.

My Muddy Water’s lunch meal began with clam chowder. My wife, Diane’s was as thick as wet cement– apparently the bottom of the pot. Mine took another half hour to be served but it was the correct consistency because they made a fresh batch according to the waiter. It was tasty, unfortunately it hit my stomach like a brick. My main course was a lunch special Rib-eye steak sandwich. The edible portions were very tender and good, but it was about 60% fat. It came smothered in onions and mushrooms-not good– so I removed them. It also came with rice-not bad– but it took another half hour to arrive. I had a coke which was good. It was sort of an exhausting meal– asking the waiter over and over when each course was going to get there. Muddy Waters was too much effort for very little rewards. I would have sent my sandwich back but I didn’t feel like waiting another God knows how long. The place was acceptably clean, the staff was reasonably friendly, but it wasn’t enough to compensate for the over-all bad experience.

This is a so-so place for food. If you are a vegetarian there are not really many options seeing as everything has a fish taste to it. They do have good salads. Later in the night this place can get really trashy and not somewhere you would want to bring a date or anything. However, during the day the outdoor seating area is great for out of towners. They really tried to go for that whole pirate/beach theme and they do a decent job of pulling it off. If you’re from Florida it is a little bit gimmicky, considering the outdoor seating is in front of the strip mall. The interior is a little run down but great for large groups. The restuarant is also over priced in my opion. The food is a mix of american food, carribean, and seafood. Most of the main dishes at 14 – 20 dollars, but you do get a lot of food.

It’s hard to give Muddy Waters more than 3 stars. It try’s hard to give customers a warm nice feeling about being there so, I at least pushed it to 3 stars. Here is what I mean. It is a strip mall ocean restaurant catered to tourist and the older sect. Much older. The neighborhood is full of retirement communities so that explains the approach. The food is very bland. Common in such restaurants. When we were in the other day we only got a couple appetizers. Basic apps, coconut shrimp. It was all over cooked. But let me say some positives the keys vibe they present a lot of people like. Fake parrots etc are a popular look that gives a island nuance. The one positive I would agree with other people on one real perk. They have outside swing seating. That is to say they have tables on gliders which is pretty fun. It’s not a place for everyone but you might like it

I went to Muddy Waters for dinner with my husband, my cousin, and a friend. My cousin had been there before, but it was my first time there. We sat outside. Although it was raining we stayed dry because the patio was covered. Our table was really a big glider. It moved back and forth whenever we moved. There were, plants and benches, and lots of decorations. Sort of like being at a playground I didn’t want a big meal so I asked our server what she recommended. She said the hamburgers were delicious. It sounded good, so I got the hamburger which came with a side of French fries. The hamburger was very tasty and cooked medium, as ordered. The bun under the hamburger was wet with grease. I told our server and she brought me a new bun. The French fries were delicious. I usually don’t order French fries and I’m glad I tried these. It was hard to stop eating them. My husband had the shrimp po’ boy sandwich. It was fried shrimp on a hoagie bun. It came with French fries. It was a large sandwich and my husband enjoyed it. I took a bite and it tasted good. For drinks we had cold draft beers which went well with our sandwiches. My cousin had the conch chowder. He didn’t like it. The soup was clear and watery and didn’t look very appetizing. He also ordered fried shrimp which he said was okay. I tried one of his shrimp and I thought it tasted good. My friend had the red lobster bisque. He said it was awful. He loves seafood soups so if he didn’t like it I know it wasn’t good. It looked very dense and thick. He said it didn’t have any lobster in it and very little flavor. For his entrée he had shrimp bang bang, which was fried shrimp over angel hair pasta. He said it was okay but I noticed that he only took a few bites and took the rest home. He said he didn’t feel good after eating the lobster bisque. They had a separate menu with drink specials. The drinks looked interesting and the prices for drinks were reasonable. I saw that more people appeared to be drinking then eating. Monday through Friday they have different food and drink specials from 4 pm till closing, in the bar and high tops.
