Let me start by saying that it used to be a nice McDonald’s location. The downfall came when the renovation was completed and the manager I liked left. Now, it’s catered to the drive-through customers in that the customer service for dine-in has become neglected. Furniture is institutionalized prison or hospital style and the manager is a grumpy, dictator ready to call on the police for every infraction she doesn’t like. She once threatened to call the police on a man who was taking a picture of a fireplace. Seriously!!!

I just ordered from the counter… cashier was scratching away at a paintball sized boil on their neck(Google«boil», they are contagious). The same hand that was scratching their boil took my money, handed me my change and handled my wrapped sandwich & drink cup. They dropped some of my coin change on the floor on their side of the counter, they looked down at it and closed the register drawer. No apology, no acknowledgement, no compensation. Scratch your boil and touch my stuff + drop some of my money on the floor = 1star rating on Unilocal

Very disappointed. In fact, I don’t even know why I’m even writing a review about a chained-restaurant that has been around forever. I will only count this review to the DRINK menu because I rarely eat the food. No wonder why people don’t mind spending the money at Starbucks or some other coffee joint. First occasion: Ordered a hot tea thru the drive. They gave me a tea bag, which I assume to be some generic crap and a cup of hot water. Second occasion: Ordered a hot tea thru the drive. I asked them to PUTTHETEABAGINSIDE the cup. They refused. I mean really… I had to pull over to the side once leaving the drive thru to put the tea bag in the cup. How inconvenient. I have been to many places and I was never served with the bag outside the cup. Not to mention they have no choice of tea… my suggestion, do not order tea from this place. So…one star for the beverage service. I don’t even want to begin rating the food.

Like most McDonalds they went through a recent remodel. The location has 2 drive-thru lanes to keep up with high volume. I have only used the drive thru during the mornings but this location has always been efficient and the orders have been filled correctly. Food is consistent with Mcdonalds standards.

Horrible, horrible customer service! The girl taking orders at the counter the morning of May 24th was incredibly rude! We placed an order, there were three people in our party and two of us ordered the same sandwich(a male that ordered two, and I ordered one). When she pushed the completed order across the counter towards me, I informed her that one of our sandwiches was missing. She looked at the tray, then at me and proceeded to argue. The exchange went as follows: Girl: «He only ordered two.» Me: «Yes, and I ordered one» Girl: «No, you didn’t order any sandwich» Me: «Yes, I did.» Girl: «No, you didn’t» Me: «Yes, I did» Girl: «No, you only ordered a sausage patty» Me: «I ordered the sandwich before I ordered the sausage patty, it was the first thing I said»(I always get a sausage patty on the side and add it to the sandwich) Girl: «No, you didn’t order any sandwich» Me: «Yes, I did.» Girl: «Well, I didn’t hear you» Then she just turns and walks away, goes up to a woman that had come up to the counter and asks if she can help her. The woman points at me and asks the girl: «Are you done with her?» The girl looks at me and says: «I have to do it over here» pointing to the register on the other side of the counter. I said: «That’s fine», then she turns back to the woman, takes her order, and proceeds to fulfill it, not even turning towards my direction and purposefully avoiding eye contact. I had to stand there waiting until a gentleman in a red button down shirt came up and asked to take my order. The girl argued with me, did not apologize, made no attempt to rectify her mistake, and then acted like I no longer existed. I cannot believe how rude she was and that she is allowed to interact with customers. She definitely should NOT be in customer service! If I didn’t have two other people sitting there with their food and waiting to eat breakfast with me, I would’ve gotten a refund and left. I will never be eating here again.

Not the first time i have gotten an order screwed up here but this time deserved a Unilocal review. Refer to pictures, you will see a vanilla shake with a small amount of faded chocolate on top. Well my friend ordered a chocolate shake and that’s what they gave us. We asked about it and let them know that we had ordered a chocolate one so maybe it got mixed up. The response was It’s fine just stir it around. Well we did, it was fucking vanilla and your customer service is bull shit. I don’t do this much but i will go out of my way to make sure people i know don’t go here. NOTOK

This review does not pertain to McDonald’s in general or their food, only to the Deerfield location, and the recent renovation. This used to be one of the most attractive, roomy McDonald’s I have ever seen. Then McDonalds and the village of Deerfield worked out a plan to deal with the drive thru backups during the peak lunch hour. The result was the near destruction of the interior, except for the fireplaces. The«garden room» was a nicely decorated, usually quiet room in back, where senior citizens would gather to play cards in the afternoon. The garden room is gone. The leather chairs are gone. The seating area in the front was made narrower to make room for a driveway that nobody ever uses. The only tables that will seat more than 2, or are the least bit comfortable are the booths, everything else should be junked. The number of teenagers congregating in the evening has been greatly reduced by the terrible seating configuration, leaving them without a reasonable place to go for a cheap hangout. The cleanliness of the bathrooms continues to decline. The same ancient drink machines are still there, with the lids and condiments in between. This area gets very crowded and messy during peak hours. The recent renovation was all about the drive thru, without ANYCONSIDERATION of the impact on customers who dine in.

I have never actually been inside of this McDonald’s, but I frequent the drive thru since it is so close to my work. I sometimes stop by for a McMuffin and coffee if traffic is light and I am early. Other days when I feel like leaving work at lunch time, I stop by here for a quick burger to bring back. The drive thru often has a line, but the service is quick… you get in and out fast… with fresh food!

You can tell when a company is corporate owned. It runs like a smooth machine, humming along, employees whistling while they work, and they do everything by the book. Franchises on the other hand can be kinda like a nightmare service wise: Cheaply run to maximize profit, poorly paid under-qualified workers, and very little caring. This place might be corporate owned, or it might by a franchise, but it definitely was humming along the two AM’s I visited. I had never been through a drive-thru lane for that large of an order as fast. The order was completely accurate! They also did not rip me off for the OJ size. You know, how some MCD’s give you a small soda cup and tell you it’s a medium? No, I actually got the medium size OJ that I paid for at this place! Food was hot and made as ordered. So why just three stars, you ask? Well, there was still very little customer interaction. It felt like I was being run through a cattle line. But as bizz-nizzy as this place was, the workers may actually feel like that. It’s a good thing that they are good at what they do.

Better than avg. staff and interior. The problem is you can’t find parking or tables at lunch time due to all the Canasta players. They fill the place and don’t even eat there all the time. I’ve seen them go to Panera and bring back to mcd. At least 5 days a week they take half the place up. It seems to me the management should restrict them to off hours. Drive thru is fast and accurate, the only way to go during lunch. People drive in circles looking for parking, and I don’t think mgmt. has a clue how tuff it is due to all the women playing cards.

Hahaha. This is definitely a soccer mom/teenager haven! When you go here in the summer times it is jam packed, but the drive through line still moves quickly. As to be expected, the line inside is just as packed as well. Lots of college kids in the summer too, but basically it is a high business mcdonalds I suppose. As noted in the other review, it is still clean. Of course what can we say about the«increased value» ads that they call them(on the radio/tv/etc), when it’s really short for«we’re getting rid of the dollar menu and charging an extra dime for all the dollar menu stuff». Meanwhile, food came out fine, no problems, line moved quickly.

The only reason I am giving this Mcd’s location the stars is because of the interior. You have to see it. Its decorated like a home you could find in Deerfield. A rich persons home. Imagine eating your double quarter pounder with cheese whilst sitting on a lounge leather chair. Your drink and fries sitting on an wood end table. Or. sit with a group of your friends in front of one of the fake lit fireplaces. Is this kind of shit necessary?! Another tediously busy Deerfield location filled to the brim with Milf-ity soccer moms. Find self-serve drinks and condiments in one area. They need more of these self serve stations. One to share with the horde of people is a mess. Trust me, AVOID a time which could be considered school lunch time or after school. The drive-thru is slow and a line can be seen up to the stoplight. SUV’s and minivans galore.
