Pretty expensive for a rather pedestrian grocery store. They remodeled recently, but the quality of goods remains fairly poor. Watch out for the produce, it’s old and sad. That great price on celery only means it will go limp in two days. The prepared foods is down right scary — gel cubes anyone? The new cheese island is limited to big brands or weird Wisconsin flavors, like Caramel or Mango Cheddar. And the meat, your typically industrial quality, is some of the most expensive in Milwaukee. The bakery, it should be said, however, is above average — decent rolls and good cakes and tarts. We only shop here for staples because it’s the closest grocery to home, but we do our big weekly shopping at WholeFood downtown or Good Harvest in Pewaukee. While I find these two the best in Milwaukee, Sendiks, Pick n Save and just about every other grocery is better than Albrecht’s, which I hope will continue its renovation and step up its food game.
