This was the first time ever at a Cabo Flats and I guess I shouldn’t have picked this location(?)! It was the worst service we’ve had in a very long time. We sat out side. I had to go ask for menus and a waitress! After we ordered a margarita and beer, it took a half hour to get it. That’s when we should have called it quits. But the waitress said it was because they had lots of drink orders go in at the same time. The place wasn’t that busy. We had to get up and ask the hostess for water refills. Dinner came and it was Okay. You would think the waitress would come and check on us. Umm No! After we sat and sat she finally came to clear the table. Asked if we wanted deserts. Took for ever for her to bring us the desert menu. After 10 minutes I walk in and grabbed the General Manager & Director of Operations cards. Then she came over and asked what we would like for desert. We decided to NOT order desert here as we knew it would take another hour to get it, eat it and then who know how long it would take to get our check. The hostess said that service isn’t usually like this and hopes we’ll try it again. Umm, don’t think so

Omg I wish I would have read the reviews about this place before going here. A complete utter disaster was my family’s experience as well. Like many others have mentioned horribly slow and poor customer service are apparently how this place conducts it’s day to day business. After about 20 minutes we pulled the ripcord and just left(still paying for what little we did receive our drinks and an order of chips and salsa which they ran out of at 6:15pm!!). The location and restaurant design pull you in, but the way this place is managed they will be out of business in no time especially when there are 10x’s better restaurants surrounding this place. I wouldn’t be surprised unless the owner/investors have deep pockets that you’ll see a For Lease sign by the end of summer once all the snowbirds leave. Don’t do what we did and drive out of our way to try this place. Visit Burt & Max’s, Shula Burger or one of the other nearby spots to get your money’s worth and acceptable customer service.

First one star review I’ve ever given. Absolutely atrocious service. Took over 20 minutes just to get our drinks. On top of that, they told us they could only let us use one check in offer per table. You guys should probably make a note of that next time. And when you have just 2 stars with almost 300 reviews, I would think you’d do everything you could to please your guests… but hey, what do I know? Will not be back.

Worst service ever… my wife and I sat at the bar to enjoy some drinks and some appetizers. It took at least 10 minutes before the only 2 bartenders to even look at us,(only 3 other couples at the bar) we finally order our drinks, not bad… but the bartender didn’t offer us a menu we had to get our own. we order chips, salsa and guacamole… easy order right. NO. it took 25 minutes, I finally ask another bartender how long it takes to get our order without saying a word he reach under the counter and scooped out chips and pour salsa from what look like a bucket. We ordered another round of drinks too see if we got our guacamole. Sorry to say it never came… but was billed for it. Truly disappointed. …

Food was good but our waitress blamed the extremely slow service to the holiday(it wasn’t a holiday). Took over 15 minutes to get seconds on our cocktails. Had to ask for utensil/napkin setups. Have been there several times midday with no problems, but this will be our last time. Reading all the poor reviews, it seems like the problem is systemic and ownership doesn’t seem to care. too bad that our waitress had to suffer a poor tip because of poor management. Don’t they read these reviews?

This place is very pretty, love the design and concept but the service was awful from the hostess to the server, we even got the silverware and napkins from the table next to us, we wait long time for a water refill. The food was good no complains… Hopefully they will get the right staff, or a better supervisor. When we were living the hostess were to busy chatting, never say good bye or anything, just bad service and rude staff!

How do you say«the worst» in Spanish? Stay away unless no other restaurant within 50 miles is open. Which was more negative, the service or the food [hint: it’s a tie!]? Should it take 15 minutes to get a glass for your bottle of beer? For $ 4, should you get more than 4 pieces of plantains? I’m sure you get the depressing unsubtle point, Unilocalers.

Service was great! But, don’t be getting ideas of coming with a party of 10+ or more. Paying for your meal will turn into hell. I mean if splitting a bill was harder than college algebra I would’ve failed college. Waiters need a course of basic math.

Tried this place for the first and final time. From the outside, it looks very appealing. The menu had many options but the drink menu was on the pricier side. The lunch specials menu had a variety of more reasonably priced items. I order the burrito bowl and my wife had the burrito wrap. Both items were disappointing. Just blah.

Waaaay too salty! The atmosphere of Cabo Flats truly is inviting. However the watery Cabo Margarita is not worth the 9 bucks. The pork carnitas I had for dinner were good enough, except that they were so salty that I had to cut them with several wedges of lime juice. And still, I had to take a blood pressure pill when I got home. I’d like to give this place another try though, because the mood inside is almost magical. Only the American rock music was out of place.

Went here New Year’s Day, can I just say AMAZING! The Ahi tuna tacos were OUTOFTHISWORLD! Well flavored, presentation was beautiful. Put food came out quickly and hot. My boyfriend got the buffalo chicken quesadilla. He gobbled it down in minutes contempt with every bite. I had the Chimichurri steak with rice beans and sweet plantains. The steak was decently seasoned. The sauce was amazing. Rice and beans were nice and authentic. First time dining here and I would recommend it to friends and colleagues(I did already) Working in downtown Delray, I’m surrounded by Mexican restaurants Ex: El Caminos/Rocco’s Tacos. Cabo flats blows it out of the water! Well done Cabo Flats, well done! Can’t wait to be back.

So this place gets a 3 out of 5. Why? Well because I didn’t get a bang for my buck. The service was nice the drinks were good the décor is nice the salads and chips are delicious plenty of but the food was weak sauce. The food had a good taste all components but they were skimpy on the meat and the sides. $ 3 something for veggies that were just 3 broccoli florets and onions with thin slices peppers. The beans on the side were defiantly not a good portion or the weak side of lettuce with tomatoes. There’s a restaurant back home I go to called jalapeños pretty much the same price range but they give you your bucks worth and extra plus it’s super delicious. I think we would come here for drinks and chips and salsa but no more food sorry.

Solid place. I mean, it’s not mind blowing, and as my partner remarked, we are quite a distance from Mexico itself, but it’s not bad at all. Most importantly for us, it was very vegetarian friendly, with many menu items specifically labeled as vegetarian, and off menu veg items as well like fajitas. We got salsa, chips and guac for the table, and all came out quickly. Ditto with the(super strong) margaritas. The iced teas were a little slow on being refilled early on, but they stepped it up later on. Good food, decent prices. The one issue for us was how loud it was; we literally stopped talking to one another because none of us could hear anything that was said. If they turned down the music a little to more managable levels, we’ll definitely be back.

Happy hour is $ 5 appetizers, cocktails, white and red wines. $ 3 beers. From 3 to 6. Outdoor and indoor seating and wrap around bar. Free house margarita or guacamole for Unilocalers. King is an awesome bartender, took care of us. FYI, I tried something new, the avocado fries. Interesting and definitely different. The avocado stayed moist inside, the batter could have been more seasoned.

Not the best Mexican I’ve ever had, to put it politely. Note, parking can be found behind the movie theater, near Publix, everywhere else is just packed with cars. The booths were uncomfortable for 4 people, and it was a booth for 5. They have this awkward rectangular shape table, but in a circular booth, so the edges reduce a huge area. They don’t have that many booths inside, but if you eat inside, avoid the booth. Flies inside, probably because the door was open. The salsa here is quite good; it has a heat to it that most other salsas don’t have. The guacamole is pretty flavorless, just some green mush to add to your chips. It was nearly $ 20 for Chimichurri Steak. While the quality of the steak was quite good, the portion size was extremely tiny. They pack the plate with rice and vegetables to fill it up, but that is not even close to worth the cost of the meal. The plantains it came with were fantastic, but again, just a side item. Personally, I feel Rocco’s Tacos is the much better version of Cabo Flats. Food(B-), Pricing(D-), Atmosphere(C+), Service(C+)

The food only deserves two star maximum. However, our server Josh gets 4 stars. He was very attentive. Now about the food: the appetizer sampler was not good. The chef killed the ceviche with way to much lime. The avocado fries were ok and the Mexican street corn started with frozen corn on the cob. The fried Mahi tacos were good but bland. Their salsa was great as well as the guacamole(which was a free $ 11.95 value with my check-in with Unilocal). I would come back for the drinks and salsa, guacamole and chips — lets leave it at that!

Cheap and good Mexican food. I like the ground beef tacos and guac. I’ve never had a problem with service(usually college kids). They also offer a decent brunch on Saturday and Sundays starting at 11:00. I have had the carnitas hash which I thought was great and my cousin had the huevos rancheros which she also enjoyed. They also have delivery via Delivery Dudes service. They have happy hour 3−6PM, 7 days a week with cheap appetizers. You have to sit at the bar for this special. I like the Mexican street corn and avocado fries off the bar menu. The bar has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered so you’re not sitting directly in the hot sun. Last time I was there they did have a little issue with flies. The waiter turned a fan to face us and we didn’t have the problem again. They Margarita Mondays with $ 5 margaritas(you can sit at a regular table for this special) and Taco Tuesdays with $ 15 all you can tacos. Lastly, this restaurant is located directly across from the frank cinema movie theatre and is really convenient for a quick bite before a movie and is open late for afterwards as well.

Extremely slow service! We had to get our own silverware and side plates! Food was mediocre, but Hubs had the street corn and loved it. We probably won’t be back. Thanks for the free guacamole, it was well made!

I can’t help but like the appearance of this place. It has a huge bar with good seating, an outside patio, really interesting décor that renders a certain good sense of feeling and ambiance. They are also real Unilocal friendly, so don’t forget to use your Unilocal Check-in for a freebie margarita or a guacamole, both of which are very good. On somewhat of a downside, don’t come here expecting anything authentically Mexican. I really don’t know exactly what you would call their food offers. Maybe the term Tex-Mex might suffice because it’s a real conglomeration. For example, if you travel Mexico, you won’t find any burritos and if you ask to eat a «burrito,» they might think you want to eat their family burro or donkey. And, if you happen to order their steak quesadilla, the main ingredient is an adobo marinated steak which is actually the Unofficial National Dish, not of Mexico, but of the Philippines dating back to the days of its Spanish colonization. I really don’t have anything against food not being ethnically authentic, sometimes it’s better than the real thing, but if it is not authentic to a particular region or country I sort of expect that it has in some manner been improved or has been prepared with a unique innovative twist or enhanced character. Unfortunately at Cabo, such is not the case. The margarita was good, but tasted to me like a simple our the bottles mixture and the adobo marinade of the skirt steak in my quesadilla just didn’t seem to measure up very well to any of the marinated meats I’ve had in Mexico, the marinated adobo steak dishes of the Philippines or those Tex-Mex restaurants I’ve found around the Houston, Dallas or Fort Worth areas of Texas.

First I must ask, could they possibly make the menus any bigger? LOL Aside from that, the meal was very good. I noticed that the mini chopped salad that comes with the lunch special has jicima on it, not sure if it said that on the menu but that was a nice touch. It was a very good lunch portion. The guacamole was really good too, could have used some spice but the avocado was very fresh. Overall, I was very pleased. Will definitely be back!
