I don’t smoke so I can’t speak to the quality of the hookah, but the food here is actually pretty good! I didn’t expect much of it since I am spoiled by amazing home cooked Mediterranean food, but after my first visit I found myself hooked on their food. My friends who originally came to Jasmines for the hookah started coming for the food as well. I’ve had friends who really liked the burger and quesadilla, but I never tried them. I always rotated between the gyro, the shish tawook(cubed chicken), and the beef shawarma. Most of the time I got the sandwiches, but every once in a while I would get the plate. The plate comes with two sides; I always chose hummus and rice. If you order hummus as a side, it comes with some pretty good bread. All three of these items are really good! The spice on the beef shawarma is excellent. The shish tawook chicken cubes are juicy and go great with the garlic sauce. The gyro meat is incredibly flavorful. I found the food at this location to be much better than the food at the Richardson location. This became a regular spot to eat for us on the weekends since after you eat you can lounge around on the plentiful couch space. They have numerous regular tables if you’re just looking to dine regularly and they have plenty of couch space as well if you’re looking to lounge around. Unlike other hookah places, Jasmines doesn’t fog up inside so it’s friendly to non-smokers like me. I really like the laid back environment here and I appreciate them not trying to turn it into a club scene like other hookah places. If you’ve been to the Jasmines in Richardson, be assured that this Jasmines is not similar ATALL. It’s not unnecessarily dark inside, there isn’t any loud music, and it’s not fogged up. It’s quite the opposite of the Richardson location and much better in my opinion. This is a great hang out spot for a relaxing evening with some friends.

The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is inconsistent. I think the food quality depends on the time of day you go. The first time I ate here was at night when it was busier. Order the lamb chops w/hummus & tabouleh and it was excellent. The next time I came was on a slow night and just ordered the hummus and it wasn’t as good as the first time but maybe that’s just in my head. The last time I ate there was a Sat afternoon when the place was pretty much empty. I order the mixed shawarma w/rice and hummus. The meat seemed like it was microwaved, the top pieces were warm and the bottom ones we cool. The beef was dry and the chicken was ok. I could see myself ordering the chicken again but not the beef. Garlic dipping sauce was good and the sides were just ok. I come to place for hookah not the food so I’m going to continue to patronize this place. The food is ok which is perfect fine by me. I will continue to order anytime I get hungry while smoking.

The very best Mediterranean restaurant that I’ve ever been to. The waitress was very nice. I ordered Turkish coffee. I’d never had that before. It was SO good! I ordered the chicken and rice plate. It came with two sides. I got him hummas and tabouli. The chicken was moist and tender, which impressed me. It tasted very good. The sides were excellent, too. The prices are very reasonable. I will go back again and again!

This is a great little place to grab some cheap really good hookah. A lot of Denton hookah is over priced and this is one of the only places thst doesn’t charge you by how many people you have out. Also, their food here is really great, especially the hummus and chicken kabobs.

The atmosphere is very chill and quiet… great place to relax. The food is awesome… I couldn’t pronounce some of the names, which made me nervous, but omg was it deslish. They have hookah in there too, if you’re into that. It kind of smells like hookah, but it’s not smokey or unpleasant at all. My friend has asthma and goes in there all the time and is fine. Definitely recommend and WILL go back.

So, I’ve been to Jasmine’s at least 5 times and I have always had a great experience until recently. The blonde waitress was extremely unprofessional and rude towards our group. Each time I have been to Jasmine’s, I order the Mixed grill with extra pita bread and I have never had an issue. However, when I politely asked for more pita breads, the waitress gave our group a condescending and negative remark about how there would be an extra charge for each pita bread. Never have I experienced this«charge» at Jasmine’s. I went over to the manager and told him the situation. He politely apologized and said that they do not charge for extra pita breads, and later confronted the disgruntled waitress. She flipped out that she was in the wrong and refused to finish serving our table. In fact, the cook(young white man with brown hair) had to come out and finish servicing our table. He was VERY professional about the ordeal and made sure that we were served with great care. I love the food at Jasmine’s every time, but since the waitress was unruly and unprofessional, I have to give a 3-star review. I will consider coming back to Jasmine’s due to the previous positive experiences I have encountered.

My review is not what a restaurant likes to hear, so I informed them first. I thought I’d let the public know. I had the grilled chicken. At first I was pleased with the taste, second bite I pulled a 6″ hair from my mouth. Well maybe it was mine but I didn’t think so. I brought home food for my granddaughter, she took one bite of baklava & pulled a hair from her mouth. Two hairs in two different items is too much for me. I will not eat there again.

Service sucks here pretty often, but the food is great. I always get the chicken shawarma sandwich. The hookahs are cheap too.

I love love love this place. Our waitresses have been super nice all the times I’ve been, although service is a tad tad slow. However, the nice people, food, and decent prices make up for it greatly. The atmosphere is great for studying and the seating is super comfy.

The best hummus I’ve ever had in my life. I stop in once a week just to pick some up. I’ve tried the gyro which was also very good. And the hookah smell is divine when you walk in :)

«we were craving mediterranean food. Huge mistake!“Even the dolmas were barely acceptable. We had schwarmas for our entrees but they were super salty. None of it tasted very authentic at all. The service was OK, but we definitely won’t come back — the prices are low but even then, still not worth it. You’re better off just stopping at QT for an italian sandwich for the same price.

Absolutely love their chicken shawarmas with garlic sauce on the side!!! I would definitely recommend it to anybody in the Denton area & they are open till 2am which is always a plus! Haven’t had their hookah but they have a lot of customers so I’m guessing it’s good. Nice relaxing area, but the furniture is a little worn down and beat up looking. I am a frequent customer whether it is to go or dine in, but it’s always great experience.

This places has GREAT food at good prices and good hookah. However, every time I’ve been here service is very slow. They usually only have about two people working. They really need to improve this

This is the first time we went to eat there. The place is big compared to some of the other places in Denton but it wasn’t overwhelming. We arrived early and got our choice of tables as there was just one other couple having dinner there. Unfortunately this bodes not well as the evening progressed. After being seated by the one and only waitress, whom I’ve named Miss Awesome — to be explained further in my narrative. Anyway after perusing the menu, we arrived at our dining choices. I ordered an appetizer to share with my dining partner, the hummus with beef and for the main course I ordered the mixed grill with grilled lamb, grilled beef and kufta, with a couple of sides which were rice and baba ghanoush. My dining partner ordered the gyro platter with rice and hummus as side dishes. Our diminutive waitress didn’t write anything down and after we ordered, she said«awesome!» We waited for our meal for quite a while. Our pixie like waitress came and refilled our drinks and told us the food would be coming out shortly and asked if we needed anything else. When we responded on the negative, she responded by saying«awesome». Finally, little Miss Awesome brought our meal… without our appetizer. I told her that since we were getting our main courses, she should just forget about the hummus with beef. Her response was suitably apologetic, and she pranced off to deal with another customer. As I ate my meal, the food was well seasoned and tasted good, I noticed that my sides were rice and hummus, not the rice and baba ghanoush I had ordered. I was going to bring this to Miss Awesome’s attention but my dining partner said that maybe I should cut her some slack, so when she walked over to ask us how our meal was, I demurred and just said«good» to which she responded«awesome»! So the food was tasty and good but the service was NOTAWESOME! A couple of suggestions to Miss Awesome — first learn to write down your food orders. You’ll make more money for your employer and you will get better tips. Second, buy a thesaurus rather than constantly using«awesome», use words like«great», «brilliant», «wonderful», «epic» or conversely«crappy», «awful» or «terrible».

An absolute gem in Denton. Possibly the best mediterranean restaurant in Denton! I get sick of Denton’s food easily, mainly because of the lack of authentic rice dishes. This is why I have to drive all the way to Plano just to get decent rice dishes. However, with Jasmine’s Mediterreanean Grill, I no longer have to go out of my way. I like the«Mixed Grill Rice Plates», and I usually get lamb + beef + chicken combo. If you haven’t had it yet — the lamb kabobs are SO. GOOD. Beef equally good. Chicken is amazing. I get this with a side of arabic salad and rice. And they DON’T skimp out on the rice!!! Getting the mixed grill will probably cover you well for lunch and dinner! P. S. If you get the mixed grill for $ 13, it’s 15 chunks of meat. If you get the regular rice plate for $ 8(?), it’s only 5 chunks of meat. Better deal for mixed plate?! I THINKSO. It is a Hookah bar inside, but this is separated from the restaurant. If you go in the afternoon’s, there is usually no one there and so you don’t have to worry if you don’t smoke. The couches are nasty and are stained, but if you get to-go, you won’t have this eyesore. Food so good, I would come here any day, regardless of receiving second-hand Hookah fumes.

I am from an area in Michigan that has a HUGE Arabic+Lebanese+Armenian population, so I have grown up very familiar with authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Feeling a little homesick I searched for a place in Denton that serves shish-tawook and I found Jasmines. Score! I went on a Sunday afternoon to order two sandwiches for take-out. I got the sense it was more if an evening lounge than an actual café. They had a lot of hookah and it was dimly lit. The staff was very friendly and promptly took my order. They also made sure I was comfortable while I waited. On the drive home my car was filled with the enticing aroma of warm pita and garlic… Mmmm. It was all I could do not to tear open the bag and devour my sandwich sat every red light. When I got home and finally enjoyed the shish-tawook, here’s what I thought: –Yummy! –Traditional in terms of ingredients: lettuce, pickle, grilled chicken, and garlic sauce wrapped in pita. –Not authentic in terms of preparation: a gyro pita was used, chicken wasn’t from a skewered kabob, sauce not garlicky enough. Overall, it was a tasty sandwich and staff was friendly. I’ll probably be back!
