As a child of Lebanese parents(and someone who gets to eat authentic homemade Lebanese cuisine often), I LOVE this place. Everything is on point. The food is absolutely delicious. I typically get a falafel or eggplant sandwich and batata harra(spicy potatoes) and am never ever in dissatisfied with the taste or quality. My only complaint about the food — the hummus does not come with nearly enough pita bread. The service is lovely, I have never encountered an unpleasant server at this restaurant. The owner himself is very kind as well and is usually the one running the kitchen! Definitely try this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

Quite a pleasnt surprise this place turned out to be. We came here after reading Unilocal reviews but I had my doubt when I saw this place from outside — the outside is quite deceptive! The indoors ambience is nice and the staff friendly. Best of all the food is great! I had the gyros which unlike most places is thick n chunky and made with beef n lamb. Try it!!!

My husband took me here for my Birthday lunch, our server Jordan was great and very helpful and friendly. Food was awesome Love the Dalomas, and the combo platter is great. Keep the good food and servers. I will be going back as often as I can.

yaasssss. That is all that needs to be said. Cheap, delicious, open late Mediterranean food. The lamb is like the perfect combo of crispy and melt in your mouth, perfectly seasoned goodness. The pita is hot and fresh and my boyfriend loves the humus. We really like the fried zucchini(although to be honest, it’s not particularly special or seems homemade, I just really like fried zucchini.) The portions are huge and the combo plates have a healthy heaping of rice, so be prepared to take some home for round 2. And when I say cheap, I don’t mean like late midnight crappy«I don’t care what I’m eating» food cheap, I mean like they provide an amazingly high quality of homemade Greek food for an exceptionally affordable price. So much of Denton has gotten overwhelming expensive(for no reason other than places that are cool know they can charge more to be able to afford the rent), but this is my staple for a cheap date night. Our servers are always lovely, we are never disappointed by the food, and the baklava is absolute heaven. Pistachio is my favorite, and I never have room for it but always take a slice home.

The staff is exceptionally accommodating and the food was fantastic! I had the souvlaki plate and my wife had the pita salad. Both were very flavorful and filling. Worth fighting the construction and traffic to eat here!

This restaurant is by far the best mediterranean restaurant in Denton. On the quality on the prices in on that then take Mediterranean cuisine. Not only do they have the best desserts in their world famous pistachio baklava. And with all their entrées you have a choice a different side dishes or salad and they all come with pita bread. And for the price you can’t beat it specially for the quantity of the food and the quality. You get less food if you go down the street to the Green Zatar and they charge you extra for pita bread? Go give it a try and you i will guarantee you’ll be back and especially try their pistachio baklava desert!

Wonderful wonderful family owned business. My boyfriend and I decided on this place for my birthday dinner! It was a Tuesday evening and the place was completely empty. We sat ourselves down and the waitress quickly came over to give us menus and take our drink order. I got water and boyfriend got a lemonade. It took about 10 minutes for our drinks to come out. We wondered why and when she finally came back it was because his lemonade was being made fresh by the glass. It was a very pleasant surprise. As our main course I got the Tabbouli salad and he ordered the Gyro Plate. I asked for the small salad and what I got was more than enough food for myself and the same with his plate. The salad was made when I ordered it. We also got a side of hummus with the gyro plate. The pita bread is AMAZING! Freshly made and just plain delicious. The owner gave me a free piece of baklava and it was spectacular! We will defiantly be visiting them again. Very soon I hope. They do deliver and we had intended to order to go but since it was nice and quite it was perfect for an intimate dinner date.

Their gyro plate is amazing. The lamb and pita bread is slightly crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked. Huge portions! Could not finish.

A gem amongst the countless strip mall restaurants in Denton. Don’t lei the exterior fool you, Beirut is a great dinner choice If you are looking for savory Mediterranean style foods in the area. The gyro is awesome, pita tastes fresh, and there hummus is pretty tasty. What more could you ask for? If you haven’t given it a chance yet, definitely give it a try. The wait can take a while, but it is worth it.

The food here is amazing from start to finish. My favorite things are the salad, Lentil soup, and chicken souvlaki lunch special — absolutely delicious! Make sure you stay hydrated with the rosewater tea and finally(even if you’re about to burst), you have to have dessert. You really can’t go wrong here. I don’t usually get desserts in restaurants but all the ones here are great. The walnut baklava is probably my favorite, but people are crazy about the maamoul also. Finally, the servers here have been excellent every time I’ve come in. Gabriel was my server the other day and he’s extremely nice — always smiling, personable, and very attentive. He was very patient and kind with every customer that came in while I was there, including one who was clearly not in the best of moods(to put it nicely). So if you’re a Dentonite or work in/are visiting the area, I’d definitely recommend this restaurant. It’s has a great atmosphere and is undoubtedly one of the most authentic places in town.

Yum! This place is great! The food is cheap, the service is quick, the atmosphere is pleasing, and most importantly the food is delicious! As an appetizer I ordered the fried zucchini. It was a large portion, I would say enough to split between 3 people. Though I have not had fried zucchini too many times in the past, I found theirs to be quite yummy! The breading is thick and seasoned well, and the zucchini is tender. My one complaint with it was the taziki sauce it came with, which was a bit watery and tasted more like tartar sauce than taziki to me. However, the dish didn’t need it anyways. For some reason I am forgetting the name of my main entrée, though I believe it was something along the lines of veggie betfaki. Essentially it was a veggie sandwich, but boy was it good! It was comprised of sautéed bell peppers and onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and feta cheese all on a delectable slightly grilled hamburger bun(I would be surprised if the bun wasn’t homemade). This would be a great options for you vegans out there, just make sure to ask for no cheese! Finally, I ordered some hummus and a falafel wrap to go for my partner. The hummus is some of the best I have ever had from a restaurant, though I was slightly disappointed with the serving size considering how much it cost. I understand hummus is expensive, but considering the prices of their other menu items — I feel like it should have either been slightly cheaper or a larger serving. I highly recommending trying it though, overall it is worth the money! My partner has yet to eat her falafel wrap, but from what I can tell it looks good! It is also vegan! In total, my food cost approximate $ 23 without the tip, and it was worth every penny!

Great vegan options and friendly service. My boyfriend and I finished an entire large Fattoush salad to ourselves… everything was so fresh… and gotta love that it’s BYOB. The veggie combo and falafel plates are great, falafel is freshly made — not too dry and just the right combo of spices. Hummus and baba ganoush are both delicious. My boyfriend had an eggplant sandwich that he loved. They also have a cauliflower sandwich and many other veggie options. Veggie options are marked on the menu, but gluten free is not. Overall, we love this place.

This restaurant is one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants in Denton. A friend and I got their combo plate($ 25.99) and they were wonderful. The meat was wonderfully cooked and their falafel is one of my favorites, as well. I’m not much of a salad person, but theirs deserves a gold star. The goat cheese with the radish made me swoon! I would suggest their mango juice just because it’s my favorite and don’t skip out on their gyro! Gabriel is awesome, too, by the way! He’s a wonderful waiter, very friendly and bubbly.

My mom and I split the Maza Plate which is a basically a sampling of their hummus, babaa ghanouj, dolma and house made falafel. While the hummus, baba ghanouj and dolma were amazing the star of that sampler had to of been their falafel. It was cooked perfectly, seasoned well and was also very moist on the inside. Seriously just thinking about it now makes me hungry! What is funny is that on our way out we tried ordering some to go but they ran out! Highly recommend!

Denton Cheerleaders sure do like to talk about how awesome the Downtown Square is and how great all the eateries are. Psshhh. Travel off the beaten path of Carroll Blvd, head down University over to Malone and go eat at Beirut. If you’re getting sick of Denton’s pizza/burger/taco game and want something good, but don’t know what, Beirut is the answer. Conveniently located next to a vape shop that also sells heaping chunks of Himalayan Salt(I have no idea either), Beirut offers a nice dining experience. It’s one of those places that’s opium-den dark which I like. I don’t want a bunch of stimuli while I’m trying to enjoy food. There are no TVs thank God, and the music is not annoying or overly loud. The service is top notch and all of the wait staff are attentive, helpful, and overall nice people. I’ve eaten half the menu there so I don’t feel like going into crazy detail about all the dishes, BUT — get the Greek salad. It’s literally the best salad I have ever had. The Kafta plate as well as the Kafta sandwich are delicious. You can’t beat their baba ghanouj or their pita bread. Not feeling at all adventurous? Get a gyro, duh. WARNING: this shit is salty as eff so be prepared to be thirstier than you ever have been in your life after eating here. This is in no way a complaint, just an observation. Point is, Beirut is a Godsend to Denton and I really feel like it deserves 5 star status which is something I rarely give.

I’m in a long-term relationship with Beirut. When I first found out about Caesar’s Island(it’s former name), it was fresh and exciting… I took all my friends and raved about this hidden gem. And then they closed up shop in Corinth and left. So, I tried to get over the loss, sampling other gyros and Mediterranean treats around town, but nothing was ever the same. But then, to my heart’s surprise, I heard rumors of a rekindling in Denton under a new name. As soon as they reopened, now under the name Beirut, I welcomed that gyro back into my life. We’ve had our ups and downs since then, with poor service and long waits at times, but the food is consistently delicious. They had some delays at this new location due to repairs and renovations, but it was all for the best. You’d never guess it from the blinding LED lights and jumbo window lettering, but this is actually a well-decorated and casual-classy little place on the inside. And it’s huge, with plenty of tables for larger groups. Definitely date-worthy, if you can forgive the shady parking lot and Dollar General caddy corner. I’ve ventured around the menu a few times for sampler platters, and while everything has been good, I still stick with the gyro sandwich. It’s better than I’ve had anywhere else with all the flavors perfectly balanced. The Greek salad is a must, too, with a generous portion stocked full of fresh ingredients. The service was pretty shaky at the beginning of this reopening, but the last few times I’ve visited I’ve had stellar service and the same great food. I think they’ve worked out the kinks. I’m so happy to have them just around the corner. Oh, and it’s BYOB. Bonus points!

First visit & certainly not the last! We started with the charbroiled ban ghanouj, a delicious, creamy eggplant dip with warm pita. We split this between the three of us & our wonderful wait person brought more pita as we ran low. My hubby got the gyro(say yee row) which is a mound of lamb & beef, that is roasted on a spit all day so the flavor train crashes together in a delicious tender blend of exotic spices in your mouth! This mother of all sandwiches is on a fluffy pita with lettuce, tomato, crunchy onion & a delightful Taziki sauce. Taziki is a creamy yogurt blended with spice & minced cucumber. My hubby hates cucumber but somehow, this combination enhanced that huge sandwich. I despise sandwiches but this is one of the only ones I will eat because it’s so good! It came with a side of fries, crunchy, golden & delicious. My friend & I split a large Greek salad topped with Gyro meat! The salad had spinach, kalamata olives, onions, beets, cucumber, peppercini, Greek oregano, house dressing & feta. It also came with Tzaziki. I can eat & so can my friend but neither of us could finish that salad! Towards the end, it turned into hunting out the last beets & sacrificing a few cuts of gyro :(I felt bad, abandoning that meat while it had made me so happy. But we weren’t finished! Although we were full, we couldn’t help but split a pistachio baklava! Layers of crispy phyllo sheets, drizzled with honey & layers on layers of ground pistachio. Don’t tell my nutrition coach that I ate some! It’s also BYOB so that’s even better!!! On top of this, Caesar himself was in the kitchen, making everything by hand, to his exact standards. He used to be in Corinth as Caesar Island. Luckily for us, he’s just a short trip into Denton! Keep it up, Caesar & staff :). You made our tummies happy & we’ll be back for more!!!

So delicious, I’m glad I finally tried this place. The lunch special came with lentil soup, rice, chicken shawarma, tzatziki, and peeta bread for 10 bucks. The chicken suvlaki wrap and fries also a good choice. The rose water tea is amazing for a refreshing beverage. At the end if you aren’t full you MUST try the the walnut Baklava… So buttery and sweet! The restaurant was clean and the waitress was outstandingly personable and helped us make our first time dining in worth it.
