I found the fried rice shallow and padantic. The sake was perfectly heated and the amount of lady gaga on the playlist was exceptional. I will be back for sushi and wasabi.

This is a great place for anniversary, birthday or special occasion spot. We started in the sushi bar and found the variety excellent. The food quality is great. The main dining room is great for family/groups but welcoming for individuals. The show was traditional hibachi style. My kids loved it. We had steak and seafood which was outstanding. Make sure to try the yum yum sauce. Not overly priced but not the lowest priced restaurant in the area. Must try.

The hibachi food is great! The steak was cooked just right. The salad and soup are great too! It is a great place to take the family, very entertaining waiters!

My husband and I love sushi and are very particular about it. The place looks like a hole in the wall but the food is amazing. We had excellent, attentive service and enjoyed the entire experience. We ran into several people we know there as well who said they are regulars. We will be, too. I’m a fan.

Super slow only two cooks for all the tables had to wait 45 min just to get our order taken. Won’t be back! :(

I went to this place for hibachi last week. I order the scallop dinner entrée, the scallop was under cooked, I almost throw out when I get home. The price is too high. The van hook look so dirty. I would not recommend to this place.

I placed a to-go order at lunch and was not pleased with the food quality. The hibachi chicken and fried rice were very dry, as if they had been cooked yesterday and reheated. This was my first and last experience with this restaurant.

I have been a patron of this restaurant for a couple of years. The sushi is always fresh and prepared excellently. The staff are courteous and attentive. The food is always consistent in flavor and fresh tasting. We have also done the Hibachi a few times and found it just as good as the Japanese restaurant’s in Dallas. This restaurant is a must go and you will love the sushi!

Overpriced! Ordered a bunch of sashimi and it was NOT fresh, owner tried to cover the old flavor up with lemon juice but my family’s palette is a little more sophisticated than that! Rolls are okay but again too pricey for the poor quality of food. Service was good though. I’m done with this place. We have been in the past and it’s been okay but today was a huge disappointment and mistake. They opened at noon, walked in at 12:15pm and they weren’t ready at all, had to wait for him to bring out all the fish to put in the countertop fridges before he could even begin preparing our meal. I would not recommend or come here if I were you.

I love sushi so I can’t ever give it a bad review. I think the service was great. It took a while for all the good to come out but they were short staffed and did the best they could. The food was good and the sushi was well made.

Food is good but it’s always hot in there. Price is a little high but we like going there.

We had the rock shrimp roll and the baked Louisiana roll. The baked Louisiana roll was awesome, but it wasn’t rolled tight. The rock shrimp roll was good, but wasn’t rolled tight either. Overall this was very good and I would go back. The service wasn’t too good, the girl didn’t know anything about the menu or what wines they have.

This place was not good at all. The only reason they get a second star is for the chefs performance. The rice was dry and veggies under done. The service was mediocre at best and the miso soup had a fishy taste to it. The sushi was less than fresh and there was not a lot of flavor to the meat.

Went on a Friday. The food was pretty good but priced higher than most places in Denton. We had to wait thirty minutes to get our food even though it was slow. Service was pretty decent. All things considered, we won’t be back.

It is nothing like the Shogun in Southlake, TX but it will do. The servers are kind of mean and don’t treat you very nicely… but it’s only because they are college students wanting to get out of work. The steak is yummy

This is probably the best, if not the only hibachi style japanese restaurant you’re going to find in Denton! My boyfriend and I went on new years eve and had a great time. I also love the sushi bar for lunch, the chefs hook you up with free food every now and then! I definitely am a fan and think everyone should stop by and check this place out! It’s worth it!

Expensive: yes, but well worth the experience. This is Japanese teppanyaki happening in Denton. Just like Benihana and others, Shogun is the real experience with chefs whirling their spatulas, tossing eggs and cooked food at guests’ mouths, and lighting fires on their grills. They serve fusion sushi to boot! They have 10 grills, which seats 90+ people total(they had 8 grills lit up tonight which was Mother’s Day), and a large sushi bar seating area and about 8 or 10 tables, so it is a good sized restaurant. The entire staff, from the greeter to the busser, was attentive. The chef got started pretty fast(we were well into our appetizer when he came out) and the food was great. We had lobster, chicken, shrimp and salmon, along with the standard teppanyaki fare of fried rice, grilled veggies, salad with ginger dressing and miso soup. Our son, who can be a picky eater at times, chowed down on the fried rice, salmon and chicken. Everything was well(or maybe standard teppanyaki) flavored. The other comments that mentioned saltiness may have gotten badly prepared food. I am pretty sensitive to salt and did not find their food to be outside what I normally get at other restaurants like Shogun, and it certainly isn’t like the salt bricks I find at fast food places. As mentioned by others, the serving sizes are large. My salmon was about 50% larger than many other places’ portions. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great date place(friendly casual date) or for a special family dinner. I ate half a roll of sushi, so I can’t really rate that part, will be going back to try more for sure. Why don’t I give it 5 stars? Because the lobster was slightly overcooked. But this is a common crime, even Benihana overcooks their lobster.

Came here with a big group and we had the whole show going on. Props to the chefs who were trying to entertain a tough crowd. I guess that’s the only good point. To be honest, my review is solely based on the vegetable fried rice and the general ambiance. The fried rice was horrific to my liking!!! It was loaded with butter, soya sauce and salt. I think the whole plate is probably twice the recommended amount of sodium for one’s daily intake. My friends and I concurred that we can whip up a way better version of our own vegetable fried rice. While I didn’t get to taste my counterparts’ sushi rolls, it looked pretty sad and they did complain that the rice was not the typical rice used to make sushi. Anyway the atmosphere was pretty depressing, service was mediocre, and the place felt like an inferno. Even before the chef’s put on their fire show, all of us were already melting away. Definitely staying out of this place! I’ve had way better experience elsewhere.
