I love this place. My only issue is how long it takes for delivery but they make up for that with their amazing food. This is me and families favorite take out in Denton. And they have my number on file which is great considering I call and order all the time. They are always like«Jenna!» When they answer and ask what I will be having this time. I love the customer service. I’ve eaten there a few times and I like the atmosphere but like most shut ins I prefer to have food delivered to me. They have the best house salad and fried rice I’ve ever had.

Favorite sushi restaurant in the area, and there are a lot nearby. The staff is extremely friendly and remember us when we go in or order to go. We are always greeted with a big smile and welcome. The servers are always friendly and pay good attention to us. Nothing but good things to say about the people. The food is amazing. We always get basically the same few things. The hibachi vegetables are super fresh and flavorful. They give you a huge plate of food. The sweet potato roll is my favorite. The sweet potato is fried and crunchy and perfect inside the roll. It’s great every time. The veggie roll is fresh and tasty and the avocado roll is creamy and wonderful. Have been to other places where avocado roll is hit or miss, but always perfect here. All the roll are full and stay together like rolls are supposed to. The soup is great, and in not a big fan of soup. The veggie tempura is a great appetizer if we are in the mood for something fried. The batter is delicious and well cooked. The restaurant itself is very modern and nice. It’s comfy and can be a great date or family outing. They do have tvs in case you wanted to watch a game at the bar but no sound. Delicious food, friendly staff, great décor, make this place 5 stars.

This place is delicious! My sister and I absolutely love the fact that we can order sushi for take out! The sushi is so good!!! Thinking about it makes me drool. Now I can have sushi at home or dine in. If that’s not great, I don’t know what is.

Good food but good luck getting your food delivered. Tonight we waited 2 hours for our delivery because the delivery driver could not find out apartment and they wrote down the wrong phone number. Upon delivery the order was incorrect. We are beyond disappointed by the customer service we received after talking to the manager. We have eaten here and gotten deliveries many times and have never experienced such an issue.

This is my go-to(vegetable) sushi place in Denton. The staff is friendly and remember me each time I go. They also let me know if something has ingredients that’s not vegetarian, which is very considerate. I love the sweet potato rolls, and the vegetable hibachi is delicious. The house salad and miso soup are good too. I feel like always take care of me here! It’s cozy here and the staff is friendly. Definitely worth going.

Great place for lunch or dinner. I’ve been here at last 5 separate times and have always left with a happy tummy. I’ll recommend the Hibachi filet mignon any time of day.

I have eaten at this restaurant twice several months apart. Both times upon entering I was assaulted by a sewer gas smell. This last time I was sick the next day. I will not eat here again. The food isn’t that good and the odors are off putting. Overall not a pleasant experience.

Tuna Tataki appetizer really good. Ordered lunch Hibachi Salmon. Miso soup unique and nice. Ambiance good. Small interior. Great for lunch. Don’t think I would take a first date here but I would come back any opportunity. Don’t live in this area.

They deliver and it was terrific. Good price and great Asian food in a town in desperate need of it. Definitely give it a try. I am so tired of lousy chinese delivery in denton and this place is great!

Ate here on a Friday night to avoid waiting 30+ minutes at one of the other nearby places and I was pleasantly surprised. Food options were plentiful, prices were fair, and the service was excellent. I don’t really know what makes a ‘good’ sushi roll, they all kind of taste the same to me. So the service here is what stands out as excellent! I also had crab rangoons and miso soup, both very flavorful, along with 4 sushi rolls. The Denton roll was superb and the Philly roll was the best I’ve had. I will be back and cannot reccomend this restaurant enough.

I’ve noticed other reviews saying that when you walk in the door, the smell is unbearable. If anyone is hesitating and unsure whether they want to try out this place because of that, rest easy! The smell is hardly noticeable, and it most certainly does not smell like sewage. It is simply raw fish and seafood, which you really cannot expect to NOT smell in a sushi place. That would be like writing a bad review for a BBQ place because you could smell meat. The smell of fish adds to the feel of the place, if you even notice it at all. Now that’s out of the way… I’ve been to Blue Ginger three times. The first time, my waitress was lovely and very friendly. It was my first time having sushi and she was very kind and patient, explaining the differences between certain dishes and making her recommendations. I ended up having the smoke salmon sushi, American Dream roll, and the Blue Ginger roll. They were all delicious! The second time I went, I had a different waiter, but he was no less friendly. I tried the Hawaiian roll, the Phoenix roll, and the Philadelphia roll. They were all made well, and tasted good, although I personally don’t care for cucumbers. I also had the sushi lunch, which I didn’t enjoy as much as the rolls, but that may be just my personal preference. I still do think the smoke salmon sushi is the best. I went for the third time just yesterday, and ordered three rolls to take out: the Awesome roll, Sexy roll, and Crunchy Shrimp roll.(I have to say, the awesome roll is… well, awesome) They were delicious, as usual, although I don’t like raw jalapeños, so I wasn’t fond of the Sexy roll. Yet again though, personal preference! The décor and inside of Blue Ginger is very pretty and peaceful. They have a lot of authentic looking art on the walls, and decorations, and it’s a very quiet, quaint, comfy little place to go after a movie and have some quality food. My sister, who is a connoisseur of Japanese culture and food, also loves this place! Not only is the food and service good, the prices are manageable too, even for broke students such as myself. I will definitely be returning here regularly, and I recommend you try it out!

While visiting my in-laws, they took us to lunch at Blue Ginger. They have eaten here several times alerady and really enjoyed it. We all had some sushi plus the hibachi plates. I had steak, they had shrimp. The food was all tasty and well-prepared. My mother-in-law says that she has also had the salmon and it is good. The prices are reasonable. The service was good. I would eat here again if I was in the area. The only real negative I’ll mention is the smell. When I walked in the door, I smelled a faint smell like a bathroom. At first I thought I wouldn’t want to eat there because of it. But after we were seated, I didn’t smell it anymore. Very odd.

Nice change of pace, the fried dumplings are the best. My son always gets the yaki dan which is noodle dish. Chicken terriyaki. Highly recommend everything. They also have some of the best sushi.

My wife and I love some good sushi. But finding good sushi in Denton turned out to be a little harder than we had thought. we found ourselves driving to Lewisville or even to Addison for our sushi fix. This was not sustainable. Enter Blue Ginger. We live very close to Blue Ginger and have been more than thrilled with the quality of the sushi and the selection of the sushi. The price is also unbeatable. A family-friendly environment with only one television above the bar but you see the same staff in there every time you go. It must truly be a family owned place. We recommend getting your sushi on at Blue Ginger. ** Ahi Tower is amaze. And my favorite roll in the Pepper Tuna roll.

First: Please note there are two separate entries for the same restaurant. Maybe the admins haven’t noticed yet *shrug* Anyway, though I loved the look of the place(very calm, zen) and the service was great, I just can’t get over the stench in the place and the lack of options on the menu. Usually when I visit a sushi spot for lunch, the bento box options are a-plenty. This place was definitely lacking. Not a *huge* deal because I do like sushi in and of itself, but even the sushi options were lacking. Ironic, considering what this restaurant is ;) So yeah, 3 stars and that’s all. Its just«alright».

What an awesome place! I walked in for takeout and the service was amazing! She was so nice and hospitable. I got the Monster Roll and the Titanic Roll. I would get both again. The lobster was delicious. Nice place with a good selection. It tasted fresh. The restaurant is clean and easy parking. I would return for sure. The prices are pretty fair.

Just opened a few weeks ago, Blue Ginger Japanese bistro is the newest addition to the restaurant scene in Denton. All brand new inside, finished out by a professional interior designer, the purple walls, black granite bar & neon lighting are super sleek, modern & very pretty. A beautiful light adorns the entry way like a crown jewel that guides you to big comfy booths on both sides of the dining room that are divided by what I call the«fish bowl sea grass.» lol The booths are upholstered in kanji while the walls feature hand painted cherry blossoms on backgrounds of vivid shades of purple. Its unique whimsically fun design makes me feel like I am in a giant purple fish bowl! I love it! It’s a neat little place, the bold colors all around lift your very spirits. It makes me happy just being there. I liked it so much I went two days in a row. The first day I was there, it was super busy & I met these two ladies at the bar. One said she had been there 4 times in one week & the other one said it was her second time in a week. The next day I ran into her again when I brought my hubby by for dinner. The menu features a nice selection of sushi, sashimi & Yakitori, with some unique rolls, appetizers & amazing lunch specials. Everything I have had so far has been fantastic. The first day I had the yellowtail appetizer with jalapeño. It was so good I had to get one to go :)‘ Owned by super cool sushi Chef Jeff, you can find him behind the sushi bar nightly turning out some super fresh, expertly crafted sushi. Chef Jeff has some killer samurai warrior sword skills. I love the way he cuts the octopus & lemon so thin, so precise, it’s so tender it melts in your mouth. He makes the ponzu sauce fresh every day it’s sharp, full of citrus & tang YAWZA! POW! BOOM! Explosion of YUM! The yellowtail, snapper & octopus was some of the best I have ever had & I eat a lot of sashimi. My hubby Jeff loved the white tuna so much I only got one piece b4 it all disappeared down his pie hole. The pepper tuna was also excellent. It comes with this spicy sweet BBQ sauce on the side. It doesn’t need it. It’s perfect without it! The salmon skin hand rolls were big & chunky with a lot of salmon. The sushi rice was cooked perfectly. I can’t wait to try some of the special rolls, soft shell crab & the tempura lobster roll! YUMYUMYUMYUM :)‘ Currently they only have beer, wine & sake. But, they have some very good sake! They have what I call, milky sake. The unfiltered white one you drink cold. They also have sparkling sake & hot sake. Sake sake sake! All three. Woohoo! Last night we had all three. Ouch. Good times :)) «Thanks Chef Jeff for a fantastic dinner. My Jeff & I love your new place & can’t wait to hang out with you guys again! You guys Rock! Congratulations again on your new place! Well done! See you soon!» :))
