As I walked the 25min from the convention center to check this place out, I kept thinking, «…this better be worth it.» I was not disappointed though I almost walked by it. A small store front that opens into an adjacent garage/open air dining area. As I sat listening to blues music, eating my apple/maple walnut donut and vanilla ice coffee, I couldn’t help but feel like I had stumbled on a secret. Seems like the kind of place that can transform a neighborhood. The food, drink and staff are all amazing. If I had more time I’d be back to work on my laptop for lunch.

Are you serious– EVERYTHINGSVEGAN?!? We split the chocolate coconut donut, it was amazing, it tasted like moist cake and was not overly sweet and it was not oily like most donuts. We also split the crimini(sp?) panini, which was absolutely delicious. This is by far the best vegan sandwich I’ve ever had from a restaurant. I would save this place for special occasions and rough days! ;)

Cute little bakery with the best lunch sandwich. Do yourself a big olé favor and try the avocado melt! Our non vegan friends enjoy coming here with us also. They have great donuts too, not traditional but yummy!

Delicious! As delicious as a gluten free vegan donut can go. I had a chocolate pumpkin and a maple cinnamon one! They are moist and dense, more like a cake donut. The first couple chews I almost thought they gave me a gluten donut. I will definitely be back to try more!

Beet Box is vegan dessert heaven. It’s located in a tiny little café in Northwest Denver with a friendly atmosphere and awesome staff. Amazing donuts and desserts. But make sure you arrive early! They go fast! My boyfriend and I got there about an hour before close and they had two donuts left; pumpkin chocolate and double chocolate(with a creamy chocolate filling). Both stray from your usual donut simply because they’re a little more cake-like and dense, but still super moist, flavorful, and SO delicious. Will definitely be back to try some of the other flavors

This place is amazing! Wish there were more of these around the world. Awesome cakes, pastries, donuts, cupcakes, tarts, drinks, and sandwiches. The croissants are to die for. I got the avocado melt sandwich and a vanilla almond donut… Exceeded my expectations for sure! So glad that this place can show everyone that vegan can be delicious and cheap at the same time. Oh, and I would also recommend the cinnamon rolls! But get there earlier for a bigger selection. Heard they are really busy on weekends but pretty chill and quiet on the weekdays. If I lived in Denver I would be here in everyday! They also sell bread loaves, day old as well as fresh. They take special orders for birthday cakes, too. All around incredible establishment!

I love this place. The vibe(low key), the offerings and the friendly staff. This GF girl is thankful for their donuts!

three words: gluten free donuts!(a wide selection too!) the staff is super friendly and there’s plenty of seating inside! Right next to a liquor store — which makes weekend errands easier

Things that are great(and all vegan): Donuts(especially maple walnut) Croissants Cakes(especially carrot) Breads Sandwiches Latte made with their homemade almond milk The employees Things that are so-so: Pies Brownies The one thing that is bad: Other patrons using the large dining tables and booths as their own personal office space.

They used to make gluten-free cupcakes and no longer are making them which is a bummer. :/So I switched to eating the gluten-free chocolate donuts instead, but even the donuts have been very inconsistent and limited in terms of the amount and flavors that are available. The gluten-free donuts taste delicious… I just wish I could trust that when I arrive there would be some good options for me.

Soecial occasion cakes need not apply. This is a pic of our daughter’s baptism cake which was supposed to have pink icing. It came khaki green and looked like a 5th grader wrote it. So disappointing for the price and effort it took to get the benefits of a vegan cake. The flavors were ok. The carrot cake has too big of chunks in it of dried fruit and carrots and the ginger frosting wasn’t good at all. Strange taste and left a film in your mouth from who knows what. I’ll bake my own next time. This really bummed me out. **update** The owner did reach out and ask if they could give me a refund which I didn’t accept. They also let me know that there was a breakdown in communication between the person who took the order and decorators. Nice that they reached out and care about their business.

This place is a gem. I really enjoyed my visit to Beet Box and can’t wait to go back. I had a maple donut and tried the turtle brownie as well and both were very rich and delicious. I highly recommend this sweet spot.

Beet Box Bakery & Café Bear Claw Turtle Brownie Carrot Cake Vanilla Donut Double Chocolate Donut Apple Cinnamon Donut Not a vegetarian and certainly not one to go out of my way for«healthy» food when on vacation, the concept of vegan bakeries has nonetheless intrigued me ever since my earliest years in Columbus and bearing in mind the intrinsic limitations of the medium when entering Beet Box Bakery & Café it was with noted creativity and pleasant smiles that the morning unfolded, five of six items not just ‘good for vegan food’ but unequivocally great. Located in a small section of storefronts on East 22nd Avenue, the signage understated and easily missed for those not knowing, Beet Box was demarcated on Monday with a cute clapboard indicating No Donuts vs. Donuts and although some may have been foolish enough to choose the former those opting to enter were rewarded by a wide selection, many of them still warm. Whimsically decorated with patterned vegetables and letters of the alphabet paired to food it was in allowing three others to go before me that the dual glass cases were perused and although perhaps a bit pricey the $ 24 tab for three donuts, two pastries and a small cake seemed a fine investment when figuring in tax and tip. Taking a booth in the side room where benign music played over a single speaker leading to office space it was with goods laid out that a logical progression of flavors was determined, the bear claw admittedly causing an early bit of trepidation given the dearth of flavor on the inside, the lack of butter additionally making for a crisp shell but minimal separation of layers. Moving onward to Donuts, the base of each distinctly different though all featured a moist, cake-like mouthfeel, tasting began with robust vanilla notes pervading the palate and moving on to apple-cinnamon before a decadent chocolate ring the waft of spices was both autumnal and beautiful, a very good sign of things to come. Acknowledging a lengthy day of eating ahead, the long morning’s run and rush hour traffic admittedly priming the appetite by the time I’d arrived, it was with half of each donut placed back in the bag and remaining bear claw discarded that heftier options were inspected, the layers of carrot cake literally half vegetable with a generous amount of raisins and walnuts beneath mildly sweet icing, the Turtle Brownie trending far more typical with an intense fudge base beneath candied nuts and sticky-sweet vegan caramel.

Cute little place offering an entirely vegan menu! I am not vegan, but my BF is a vegetarian who doesn’t eat eggs, and this kind of place is awesome for people like him. I’ll have to bring him next time I’m around. I tried the avocado melt sandwich. It was made using their fresh baked bread and was toasted. It was decent, but the cheese lover in me doesn’t understand the cashew cream cheese part. It was fresh, though, and filling. It was served with a side of chips, nothing too exciting. I also had a glass of lemonade and it was pretty darn good! Sweet and slightly tart, it hit the spot on this hot day. Their pastry case has an assortment of cupcakes, cakes, and other items, again, all egg-free. I am looking forward to trying several of them!

Obsessed with this spot! Worth every star-sad I can’t have these goodies on the regular(probably for the better since i’d gain 10 lbs) but I love to give 5 stars to businesses I’d definitely come visit again… And Beet Box is a perfect example. EVERYTHING is vegan(seriously the best news to someone like me who is allergic to egg whites.:/ I know) Bb doesn’t compromise taste or moistness of their pasties without the gluten or dairy and egg products. You seriously can’t tell the difference! Even my grandmother who is not on that all new wave vegan train loved the maple apple donut and had no idea. Can’t wait to come back and try their vegan croissants; A pastry I miss a lot since the allergy talk with my doc. My latte was pretty damn good as well. Intrigued to try the lavender flavor in an iced tea before I fly back to Miami! This place is going to be one or the first places I have breakfast my next trip back for sure!

Beet Box was a great little find in the uptown/medical area. Great for coffee, vegan baked goods(YUM!) and great vegan sandwiches. I stopped here for a quick coffee and donut one morning after a blood draw at my doctor’s office. I was grumpy(I’m not good with fasting), but the coffee and donut I walked out with quickly changed my mood. I came back after another subsequent doctor’s office visit with the vegan BF for a little lunch action and was totally overwhelmed by their yummy sandwich options. We split a tofu Banh Mi and a veggie melt and were both totally blissed out. We split a turtle brownie afterwards, which was good, but the carmel was way too hard and it made eating the brownie without a chainsaw pretty tough!

Great house-made bakery including some to-die-for muffins. Apple ginger again and again, por favor. Also, I wanted those doughnuts, but I didn’t. But is a muffin really any better for you? I digress… Solid coffee! Nice folks. Cute spot. Four stars!

Full disclosure-I’m not vegan; therefore, my review is likely not as glowing because I don’t appreciate vegan cuisine or consider myself a conisseur. That said, the doughnut I tried was not good. It was dry, it lacked flavor, and I wasn’t impressed overall. The menu was very small and I had a hard time finding something I wanted. I finally settled on hummus and bread, which was good, but not revolutionary. The space is teeny tiny. We literally had to hold half of our order for about 10 minutes before a table opened up. Given my mini diatribe, you may be surprised to see a 3 star rating. Two stars go to the peanut butter chocolate cake alone. Vegan or otherwise, this was easily one of the best cakes I’ve ever had(In contrast to the doughnut, it was bursting with flavor and was moist(I’ll use that word even though I hate it because the cake was THATGOOD). Not sure I’ll look for reasons to come back, but if I’m ever in the area, I may stop in for some more of that cake! Drool.

I have friends who used to live just down the street on Downing and they recommended this place numerous times before I ever set foot indoors. I try to stick to a gluten free lifestyle, and when I heard that I could have this option in a donut, my life was changed. For the better. This is a small storefront, but parking is always available on the street in front of their store. I’ve spent numerous days sipping on almond milk lattes and lesson planning for the week, and once, I was rewarded with a delightful pastry. This bakery is all vegan, all the time. Don’t look for meat options on their sandwiches. I haven’t tried one… but only because their pastries more than satisfy my sweet tooth. I have picked up donuts in the morning to share with fellow teachers, and I love that they have a punch card. That said, plan on spending more than you would at your typical donut shop. It’s not cheap, but it is worth it!

I really adore this place. I used to live down the street, and now that I’ve moved across town I find myself craving their tasty sandwiches and indulgent(yet vegan/gluten free) donuts from time to time. Like a couple other reviewers have said, it is a little tricky to notice from the street if you don’t know it’s there. But once you’re in there… yuuuuummmmm. The pastry case is beautifully organized and clearly labeled. Donuts donuts galore, fresh breads, croissants, tarts, cakes, and so much more. Also, don’t ignore the sandwich menu board. I highly recommend the Avocado Melt. It has cashew cream cheese, red onion, arugula, and tomato on country bread(fresh, baked in store.) I’m not vegan or vegetarian and this is still one of my all time favorite sandwiches in Denver. Reasonably priced and a pretty large sandwich– very filling. This fall, I will definitely be popping in to Beet Box as much as I possibly can to get a pumpkin donut(perhaps one with and one without chocolate icing) with an almond milk latte. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
