My husband is from New Mexico, so when we landed in Denver the first thing we did was sought out genuine Mexican/southwestern food with green chili. We passed up some brighter box-store type restaurants for Laguna’s, and we were so happy we did. The host, our waiter, and other staff were really friendly, prompt, and kept our water glasses full. The food was served within 15 minutes of our ordering it. The chips and salsa are very good — the salsa is pretty spicy! We went for the 4-for-$ 10 margaritas and we were pleased; they were delicious and not weak. I had Combination 4(Chile relleno, bean burrito and cheese enchilada). The chile relleno and bean burrito were served with green chile and the cheese enchilada was served with red. The chile relleno was AMAZING. The bean burrito and cheese enchilada were also good, but the red sauce on the enchilada was a little weak. My husband got Combination 6(Beef chile relleno, cheese enchilada tamale and taco) and raved about his beef chile relleno and tamale. We both left super full and satisfied. If you’re looking for good southwestern food, this is it.

I like being called Señorita while stuffing my face full of chips and salsa-it makes me feel sexy, and I don’t feel bad about smiling with chip crumbs falling out of my mouth… Tried the Green chili today– I enjoyed it mucho! The salsa was spicy today, me likey. My heartburn on the other hand hates me right now… Lunch for two under $ 20! Good deal. plus– coke products!

Seems like a Shady area off 16 th street mall and a sign saying 4 margaritas fir $ 10 made us question this place on first glance… but Service was good, salsa was pretty good(and they brought out some jalapeño cheese sauce-which was a nice touch), and food was actually really good –which may have been enhanced by my low expectations. This place isn’t fancy but you will be pleasantly surprised

This location has its ups and downs. It all depends on what you order. I love the combinations. The enchilada, taco and tostada combination is good as are many others. You can’t deny the price is great, too. You can get a lot of food for less than $ 10. The staff is also really friendly. It’s in a not so great location but I have no problems getting stopped by a bunch of weird guys if I’m with a group. Not a place to drive to if you’re coming from a great distance, but if you’re downtown craving Mexican on the cheap then Laguna’s is a place to try!

We went for dinner when we couldn’t really decide where else to go. It was a little difficult to find and it was almost empty inside. The waiters were friendly and attentive. The salsa was delicious, hot and not too chunky. The food was delicious, I got flautas and my husband got carne asada. The prices were cheap and we got plenty of food for the money. The only downfall was we misunderstood the special and ordered drinks that weren’t eligible for it. I wish we were told about that before ordering. Oh well, good food and good service, so we will probably go back again.

We went here because we were craving Mexican and a guy holding a sign persuaded us… Alarm bells should be going off in my head right about now but living safe is a bore. The food was middle of the road at best when compared to other similar Mexican joints. The servers were quick to fetch a drink but a billing error after being acknowledged for the coupon was irritating. Maybe Mexican ninja’s or belly dancers would set this place apart from the crowd.

From out of town, went to have lunch with my sister because this was clse to our hotel. I ordered a Garden Burrito since I do not eat meat and she got a combo. The chips and salsa were good. On her combo she ordered one soft shell, it came out hard so she asked the food runner to bring her a soft shell, he did not, so five minutes later she asked our waitress to and she never did. Then I bit into a bit of meat in my supposedly meatless burrito. When we told our server she did not really seem to care. So, not the worst but we will never go back.

I enjoy this mexican restaurant. The service lags during the lunch rush but the staff is friendly, the food is always good, and we never feel cramped when we go as a group.

Excellent! Been there twice, once for lunch once for dinner, both great experiences. I highly recommend the carnita tacos. The atmosphere is pretty cool since the restaurant is a little hidden away. Reasonable prices. Service was a little slow, not a great place for a «quick» lunch. Will definitely be going back!

This place is awesome. Ive always seen the guy with the sign on the 16th mall. After reading the reviews i had to venture in. I should kick myself for not going in sooner. I was greeted right away and served Delicious Chips and Salsa. The Coors i had was crisp and cold. The servers constantly checked up on me while we were deciding what we wanted. I went with the Chimichanga w grilled steak. Absolutely Delicious. It was pretty empty when we first entered but that quickly changed. They apologized for the food taking so long to come out but i didnt think it took long at all. This other table had Steak fajitas and it smelled so damn good that will be next on my list to try. They serve breakfast all day too. And its reasonable for my Chimichanga and 2 Beers it came to 12 dollars. Maybe i went for happy hour. All i know is i will be back.

It’s on a block that looks like it would be a dive, but actually a pleasant surprise. For an early dinner, no crowd, very attentive service. A little hotter than I am used to, but very tasty burrito, carnitas. Can’t beat the price for downtown. Liked the margarita special as well. I’d go back when in the area again.

I realy want to give this place a 2.5. Ive been here a couple times actually. The first time I went here just on a whim to try it out. I ordered a breakfast burrito(it was closer to morning) They serve breakfast all day which is really awesome. I asked the server if they fried the potato for the burrito. I ask because I always request that my potato be cooked extra well – I personally dont like«soft«potoatoes – I like them very crispy borderline burned. She told me no – maybe they’re used to the overly-healthy crowds that come through. Anyways she told me no-and of course the potato is fried. Not a big deal. I also asked if the chili was hot(flavor wise) she was very quick to tell me no –again must be assuming I wouldnt want anything too spicey .I was ok with the burrito – the«chili» was little different than what I was expecting. I love green chili – and I love hot spicy green chili and this was not really green chili. None the less not a horrible experience real cheap breakfast burrito that was served up real quick. Now… The last time I went there – that was a different experience. I ordered the same thing.(Original I know) Maybe I was different this time maybe I was in a «hunger coma» the previous times I went but the chili on the burrito tasted like vomit. Texture and flavor seriously made me think of vomit. A slight burn in your throat after you start to eat and the after taste again… like a horrible stomache-acid-y sensation. Gross. I will not be returning. –its weird because the previous times were not that bad but who knows what happened. Maybe its me maybe its them but for sure I will not be dining there again.

I found this place after seeing the sign-holding-guy on the 16th Street Mall and decided to give it a shot. I am a fan of carnitas and generally judge a restaurant by the quality of its carnitas and its chili rellenos… and this place has great carnitas! I ordered the carnitas plate and a side of rice(the plate comes with enough that you don’t need to order a side of rice, but I like my carnitas with). Unfortunately, I didn’t try the chili rellenos, but I did see one: it looked good, and I heard that it tasted good as well. I will definitely be back for the carnitas plate!

I haven’t reviewed in a while, and I’m going to keep this one short, but I do want to say this place is great! Definitely tex-mex, don’t go here expecting an authentic caldo de res or anything like that, but their food is tasty, portions are fair, prices are not terrible for a downtown restaurant. I usually get it to go, but the space is pretty nice. I enjoy the Mexican Hamburger but the other things I’ve had have all been good too. The chile is not hot, but it is flavorful. Check this place out! There are not many good Mexican places downtown. Aside from D’corazon, this is probably my only other«favorite» Mexican joint downtown. I wonder what happened to their website though, it was working a few weeks ago but it’s been down for a while.

Mmm, mmm, mmm. So, last week Nick and I went to the Bovine Theater and arrived a bit early for our show. We decided to get a drink while we wanted and stumbled upon Laguna’s. While we had our drinks we also munched on some chips and salsa, which turned out to be tasty enough for me to want to return to Laguna’s for a proper meal. So, I met up with newly transplanted Erin M for lunch to sample the offerings. And it was really, really good. Laguna’s serves up more of a Tex-Mex style of food that is totally delicious to me. I tried the carnitas tacos and it was 3(well 6 really because you know they double them up in case the shells bust) soft corn tortillas covered in soft, juicy, greasy carnitas meat with just a bit of spice. All of this is topped with pico de gallo, fresh slices of avocado and their«special salsa» which tastes a lot like spicy and cilantro. For around $ 9 it was a deliciously filling meal, served quick. I would definitely recommend it for lunch and I’ll likely go back with Sir Nicholas who is now upset that I went without him.

Went here for lunch today. Since I love Tex-Mex I can say this is as close as I’ve tried in Colorado. I had the Taco’s D-4 which were flour tortillas filled with steak fajita meat, peppers, onions and cheese. This came with a side of guacamole and pico de gallo. It was way too much food but for $ 8.95 well worth it. The only problem is parking is kind of a pain, but I’ll be sure to be prepared for that when I go back!

I love going to this restuarnat purelydue to its shady location. It off 16th Street Mall and you have to go into this building and it is like in the basement. It is usually packed at lunch and the food is not bad. I got the Combinacion Numero Tres and it came with a Cruncy Chicken Taco, Bean Burrito and a Cheese Enchilada. All for $ 7.95, the chips and salsa are kind addicting since the salsa has a little bite to it and makes you want to go back for more just to fight the heat. With my side of creama or sour cream, I was a happy mexicana camper.
