I went here on a pub crawl. There are a lot of great bars and microbreweries in Denver and there is nothing special about this place. Cool motif with the chalkboards and whatnot but very underwhelming.

I love dive bars. Generous pours, sticky floors, and even better when they have house made sangria or flavored liquors in large jars prominently displayed for all to see. It’s even more awesome when they have Big Buck Hunter in the corner for people to play. Next Door Lounge has all of these going for it. Plus wine by the glass, which made it a worthy choice for a late night adult beverage. The bartender was very kind and how could I complain about $ 6 pours of vino? Nada. What creeped me out thoroughly was the bathroom situation. As I waited for one of the unisex facilities to become available, a foursome(two guys, two gals) walked out and one of them said: «Don’t go in there. You’ve heard of a soup kitchen, right? Well we just made it a f**k shack.» (Soup Kitchen definition: ) Classy. Honestly, I don’t really care if you want to get down in a bathroom. No need to announce it… at least dial it down to a humble brag vs. a creepy infomercial. One star for the grossness, the other star goes to the very nice bartender who had to deal with those nasty bros.

Nice bartender & good selection of beer. Food was basic. Would go here for happy hour drinks again!

A lovely dive bar near some good restaurants. We had a couple of beers and enjoyed ourselves. They play country music and we saw some folks take tequila shots off the ski, looked like a fun time and was interesting to see such a coordinated effort in the throwing back of tequila shots– gag. Would return, chill vibe.

First: it’s Monday and last call for food as drinks is at 9:45. We were under the impression they closed at 11. Their website said 11-close, not helpful. We ordered the Roasted Veggie salad and Mushroom Ragout. Both were good — the salad was a good mix of ingredients and not too much onion. Did feel the pressure to finish and get out. It’s in a nice area next to Union Station.

I really enjoyed this place, I found them on Groupon($ 13 for $ 30) while searching for things to do while we visited Denver!(First time!) They had a good ambiance, 3TV to watch the game, nice bartender, pool table. Overall I had fun and would recommend to blow a couple hours.

I’m not entirely sure how to review this place. If you’re looking for a local, neighborhood bar to catch and game and where it won’t be crowded then this place is great. They have a decent selection of beer and the price point is good. But the bottom line is that it’s just a bar, I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to come here but if I were hanging out in the area for the intention of meeting friends or watching a game then this would be a good option.

Only been here once but staff(Evan) was terrific and our«typical bar food» was nothing but. Handmade guacamole kicked butt as did the handmade meatballs. Cheesecake was dynamite. Fun vibe, free shuffleboard. Lots of TVs too. We will DEF. Be back. Great«dive» bar.

This is the dive bar you want to go to for a night out with friends with whom you are very comfortable. The atmosphere is a typical dive bar feel with random signs and décor on the walls. There is plenty of seating and room to move around and a small outdoor space to enjoy. You’re not going to get a broad selection of exotic liquors and beers. However, you will find they infuse some spirits to provide some unique flavors. They have drink specials most weeknights, but even without the specials the prices are reasonable. You will find a typical menu of bar food that is pretty tasty. I ordered the burger and it was sufficient in quality. Then again, are you really coming to a dive bar for the food? The bartenders are helpful and attentive. When the pool table ate some of our money, the only bartender working broke off from actual paying customers to help us fix the problem. Speaking of pool table, the real draw of this venue are the variety of activities you can play there. Buck hunter, «beer pong,» pool, foosball, giant Jenga, to name a few. The patrons fill the bar up on the weekend, but it doesn’t feel too crowded. So its fun without it getting crazy. The people that were there on Friday were varied. A few college graduates, some hipsters, and some young couples out on the town. All in all, a nice basic bar to enjoy a casual night.

I had an incredibly frustrating visit to this bar. I had gone in the past and enjoyed the infused liquors, but I went back this week and had a terrible experience with the bartender. First, I tried to pay for my drink in cash, and she wouldn’t let me. She said that I had to open a tab with a credit card. I didn’t want a tab, I just wanted to pay for my single drink right then. It was incredibly difficult to get a drink from her. We sat at the bar, my boyfriend and his two buddies to my right, and me and my girlfriends to the left. There was another group of men at the other end of the bar. Out of our group of friends the guys got TWO drinks before I could get her to get me one(or my girlfriends for that matter). Then when I had finished it, it was empty in front of me and I tried several times to get her attention and ask for another. Keep in mind there were only around 10 people in the entire bar. I heard her schmoozing my buddy as they were taking shots together(weird since I couldn’t get her attention or a drink for the life of me) and saying that she had bad reviews on Unilocal and could he please write her a good review? In my experience the best way to get a good review is to be polite and at least make an effort to be good at your job. If I treated my customers like she treated us I would be out of a job. She was cranky– when I paid for my own tab at the end of the night, she started saying how men never pay for their girlfriends drinks anymore… thanks for the judgement, I just wanted to pay my tab and I don’t mind paying for my own drinks. All in all, kinda ruined the bar for me, one that I had enjoyed in the past.

A great local dive bar! Great place to catch a game, hang out with friends, or meet new ones. The bartenders that I’ve met(Evan, Adrien, Larry, Mark) are all super friendly and deliver great service. They have great happy hour deals and I find myself stopping here multiple days a week for a beer and some food. Taco’s are my favorite! There are bar games to play and a jukebox. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a cozy place to grab a beer.

Adrien is the best bartender… Attentive and never had an empty drink. I am a local bartender and have to say this will become my new home bar due to service, draft selection and environment… Go Adrien I will recommend all my guests come see her… Josh from the atomic cowboy

My favorite Denver dive bar. It doesn’t get too busy or wild so it’s more the spot to bring your friends than make new friends but there are lots if games, prices are good and the décor and vibe just feel perfectly divey.

Bad review tonight: Tonight some friends and I went to next door for a game of pool and a beer. I have been many times to this bar and so have said friends. Normally a good time all around. So my girl friend orders a pitcher of beer for us and the bar tender solicites a tip from her by rudely asking, «dont you tip your bar tender?». My lady says«yes of course I do» which is met by something along the line of «well, your friends never tip». An aggressive and false assumption, let alone the un-professionalism of directly asking to be tipped. We tip well. Rude. We drink our pitcher and play a round of pool still kind of resenting the rude things said and done. We decide to stay and try to make peace with her by being kind and passive and gathering her a(undiserved) nice tip. We all just wanted to play beer pong and pool and have a good night. As soon as my friend asked for another pitcher, this cold woman retorts by saying she we wont serve us because she has the right not to. We wanted to tip her all along. But she falsely believed we wouldn’t tip her. None of us are loud, rude or drunk, may I remind you. And we all tip our servers and bar tenders well. So we finished our drinks and left, no hassle, no bs. I cannot speak for my friends but I do not want to go back because I HAVENEVER been treated like THAT at a bar! Never! The reason I’m posting this is that I hold a certain standard in work. Every body has bad days I get that. If you have a problem with a customer, be polite and get to the bottom of it. But rudeness, impatience, assaumptions, and SPITE?! Not professional in the least. I would get IMMEDIATELYFIRED from my job if I acted like that to ANY customer So, semi pretty brunette tattooed hipster with glasses girl, I disapprove of your professional skills. Your managers are getting this message and a call and a Unilocal review. So random and rude. Yours truly, one less common customer

Bartender, «I do not get paid tips from the juke box.» Me, «Stop picking and choosing the sound level based on what you like to hear.» She was too concerned about what she was doing on her computer and mentioned that she told her boss the bar should not be open on Mother’s Day due to poor traffic the year before. Hey, Boss, time to get ride of the older girl from Florida that does that give a shit about your customers.

Meh! It’s just a bar. Not drivey but nothing really to talk about. Juke box was fun but that was about it. Didn’t really seem to have any good specials from what we found. Might be a good watering hole if you live in the hood but I would not recommend a stop if you are going out of your way.

Stopped here after dinner because it was on the way home. Never heard about it and now I see it on Unilocal… Cool! Ok so the bar looks like a regular place where friends hang out, get their booze on and play pool. We just had one shot of patrone and the bartender filled the glass up — yeah. But other than that, I don’t think that it’s something special. Not saying it has to be, looks like the neighborhood bar you go to down the street

Great little local neighborhood bar. They have plenty to keep you occupied from pool, jenga, to shuffleboard, and my favorite buck hunter. Seems to have a pretty regular crowd and it’s usually the same bartender on hand. They also share a kitchen with the restaurant next door and offer very reasonable bites. Take note: truffle fries are delicious! A good spot to try out if you’re nearby!
