Other than the lack of parking and seemingly higher prices than their competitors — this is a cozy joint to pick up your drink of choice. The options are broad and the service is nice. Plus, it’s on a great corner surrounded by tons of wonderful, local restaurants. I can imagine it’s a perfect convenience for those living nearby.

This place is really convenient for quick liquor runs. A few weeks ago while my boyfriend was working in the backyard with some buddies, they sent me on a beer run to Pearl Liquors. I talked to the employee there, and after giving him the situation, he helped me pick out some non-girly beers for them. When I got back, the boys were pleased with the selection but wanted me to go get more, so I went BACK to Pearl Liquors. This time, the same guy that helped my just a ½ an hour before said, «How many guys ARE there!?» When I told him four, he said, «They drink too much!» The moral of the story is: One should not be judged by employees when they go buy beer at a liquor store!

Across the street from the Pearl Street Pub is this little gem of a corner liquor store. Short on floor space, you’re not going to find a huge selection here. The wine selection is pretty weak. The beer selection is fair to middlin’. The liquor selection is their strong suit as is the abundant supply of mixers and important extras like limes! The staff is always friendly and by the book. Though I must walk there once a week in the summer, they still make me show my ID every time. I don’t find it a hassle, but respect their need to play by the rules. The prices are pretty reasonable. So if you’re heading out of the Pearl Street Pub but want to keep the party going, I’d give Pearl Street Liquors a shot!
