More like a 3.5 stars that I’m giving this place. I got the chicago dog and I didn’t really enjoy it but I’m always open to coming back here and trying some of their other dogs.

I work as an activity director at an assisted living and independent retirement community. Every Wednesday we go out in the bus for an outing. Usually we go for lunch, and today’s pace was Steve’s Snapping Dogs. This place is easy find, hard to park the bus, but completely do able. Staff was immediately helpful. Opening doors, getting people situated and taking orders. I came with 17 seniors, lots of walkers and a couple power chairs. Service was fast and friendly. Enough about the service, the dogs are so good. I love hotdogs, I go to baseball games just for the dogs. Best dog I’ve had in such a long time, I might ever say EVER! Thanks Steve Snapping Dogs, great customer service and even better food. I’ll be craving you later. –jenny d

Saw the good reviews, wasn’t disappointed. Most of the items are $ 3-$ 5 which is perfect for a hot dog or a burrito. The wait isn’t long but the seating is kind of limited. I read a lot of good reviews about the Dallas dog but went with the Rockies instead cause I was craving something spicy. It was very flavorful even though it’s a bunch of toppings piled on. You can definitely taste hints of the mustard and the onions. However the green chile and the jalapeños were the perfect touch to the full flavored hot dog and the very soft bun(seriously, the bun was one of the best I’ve ever had). With a little bit of Frank’s red hot and ketchup, I downed the hot dog so fast. Definitely want to come back and try other items. Also, it’s worth mentioning that the workers were very nice to us and they were interacting with other people, treating them like regulars. I don’t know if they were regulars or not but it made the environment seem more like a cool hangout spot instead of some fast food place that rushes you out the door.

Delicious and friendly, just wish they were open later. Any type of dressed up pup you’d want, even vegetarian ones! the Manager is really friendly and service is good. Here and Mustards, my go to for that occasional craving of tubular awesomeness!

An oasis of hot dogs. Variety of sides, shakes and of course gourmet dogs. Ice cream shakes and cones too.

This is one of my favorite spots to go! Growing up in my hometown Montrose we had a drive in movie theatre and they made the BEST burgers and fries. No one could beat them, until I moved to Denver and found Steves! I’m a total fry nazi, I only like the crispy ones and am just ridiculously picky about my fries, this place makes them PERFECT. Their menu size is huge too, they literally have basically everything you could want. I love that they have malts here, and not just milk shakes. I seriously love malts. Their ice cream us really good too. The dining room can get a bit chilly in the winter time, but just bundle up. There’s also a few seats inside of the building too. The staff has always been so nice to me all the times I’ve gone in, & there’s hardly ever been a wait for my food. If you’re looking for a good burger and fry fix come here!

This place is wonderful. I had theMedi-si dog and my boyfriend had the Rockies dog. Nothing like a good dog on a nice sunny day.

My friend and I went here on an afternoon. He paid with a debit card. Within a couple hours of being at this restaurant my friend’s debit card had been used to pay a cell phone bill that was not his. The person worked at Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs, stole my friends debit card number and tried to pay his cell phone bill with it.

If you love hotdogs then you’ll love this place. They have a wide assortment of food to choose from. Their main items are hotdogs, but if your not feeling that you can go for their Smash burger or other items. My friends and I stopped by on our last place before heading back to New Mexico. At first I was a little overwhelmed with the wide selection but decided to go with the Chimi Dog after a suggestion from my friend. My two good friends that now live in Denver highly praised the Chimi Dog so I took their word for it and jumped right in. I like Chimichangas so I was excited to give this a try. To start off this thing is huge and heavy. I almost had to use 2 hands just to hold the plate from collapsing. Its stuffed with 2 hotdogs, bacon, tomato, jalapenos, salsa, Steve’s Chili con carne, cheedar jack cheese, lettuce, all wrapped in a large tortilla. Then to top it off they smoother it in Steve’s Green Chili, more cheedar jack cheese and sour cream. The Chimi Dog was toasted to a nice golden brown and packed with flavor. Overall I was pleased and left with a satisfied stomach. I would visit again and try their other food items.

There’s a lot of hot dog places coming up in Denver. Biker Jim’s, Über Sausage, Billy’s, Vienna, and so on… Steve’s has been around for ten years. It’s designed with the look and colors of a circus. I’ve driven past the place for many a years because I’m not a fan of the circus. It was seeing that they’ve expanded into having a stand at DIA that made me check it out. It’s good. There’s a variety of hot dogs here that all of the above places can’t compare with, mostly because Steve’s sticks to having just the dog. I’ll have to try more, and will definitely be back. There’s also breakfast items. It’s going to take a few items here to fully get an idea of the place. After all, it’s pretty hard to mess up a hot dog.

Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes! We went to Steve’s on a Sunday afternoon for some grub before a show at Lost Lake Lounge across the street. We were met with immediate greetings and happy faces by the employees, which shows they like their jobs and therefore makes me stoked to get to gettin’! I had a veggie dog with ketchup, yellow mustard, mayo, and celery salt, and fries with cheese(it was an ending to a healthy weekend. Sue me.) My wife had the Memphis Dog and fries with ranch. Each of us had a Corona. It was a touch pricey for a hot dog but I’ll vouch for the fact that it was hella tasty and hella filling! Our pals joined us later and had sweet potato tots. They were not offered a large size to split, only the small. It was a fun atmosphere and totally a place that we would love to have a small party at. I miss living off of Colfax and it fits the bill just right! I’d recommend if you’re looking to fill up before bar hangs — it’ll keep your tummy happy while you’re boozin’!

I LOVE this place. I’ve had a few of the hot dogs and I have yet to taste one that I didn’t like. There is a huge assortment of menu items, but it seems like they do everything pretty well. They’re well-known for their hot dogs, but I recently had a bite of my boyfriends smash burger and it was really good. It was juicy, with a perfect sized patty and toppings. I typically will also order a frito pie, because it’s rare that I will ever find a frito pie anywhere! When I haven’t stuffed my face too much and can have dessert, I like to opt for a chocolate dipped banana! The food is affordable, there is something for everyone and best of all, the patio is dog friendly! I will definitely be coming back!

First time eating here, Nebraska native and I must say, damn these guys know their dogs. Very quick service. The only downfall is the parking. Limited parking in the lot, but there is street parking all around it! The food is great and very tasty! Will be coming back for sure with more people! Long live Steve’s Snappin Dogs!

Ever since I moved to Denver almost two years ago, I’ve been searching for a good hot dog place to take me back home. I decided to visit Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs one day with a friend for lunch. As soon as I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the HUGE(and what seemed endless) menu. I knew that I for sure wanted to try the Chicago dog, but I couldn’t help but ponder over the other choices. I did in fact order the Chicago dog as well as the house pitcher of the spicy beer that was absolutely delicious. I did like the Chicago style dog, but only had one gripe: the bun didn’t have poppyseeds. When we saw Steve there(he’s very involved in his business and it shows!) we asked him why he didn’t have the true Chicago style poppyseed bun. He said the reasoning behind it was because they don’t make them in the area and he would have to order them and freeze them. I understood his want to not serve anything that he had to freeze prior, so I let the bun gripe slide. Like I said prior, Steve is very involved in his business and we saw him from the moment we walked in, until the minute we left. He made sure to go around personally and ask his customers how their service and food were. I found it very inspiring and comforting to be in such a place. Not many business owners take that much pride, so it was to witness. I will definitley be back to Steve’s in the future for the dogs, if not that then FORSURE for the unique and delicous beer!

The hot dogs at Steves are delicious. I tried the Dallas dog with red chili, cheese(onions and mustard are optional but add extra flavor) and a traditional Chicago dog. Both were great although I liked the Chicago more with the tomatoes, pickle, celery salt, sport peppers and relish. Friendly staff. Limited parking but it was not busy at 3pm on a Saturday when I went. My only comment is that I was still hungry after two dogs and a small onion ring, which was $ 11.50.

Good hot dogs. Seriously, if you crave a hot-dog, this is where you need to go. Lots of variety, good sides, good service. No fancy new wave fusion blah, blah; blah just good ‘ol hot dogs and comfort food. ‘Merica.

Hot dogs are not my idea of gourmet. But Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs elevate hot dogs to a whole new level. I’m not sure how it took me so long to grab a bite to eat here, since it’s blocks away from my house. Luckily, a friend was in town for a week and needed to seek out food sources near my home while I was at work. He wandered into Steve’s, and by the end of his week’s stay, he was a regular(with, ya know, health issues). The day before he left he convinced me that I had to come too. I’ll never repay the debt. I order the Memphis Dog, which was slathered in BBQ sauce and was finished with bacon, slaw, and grilled onions. Aptly named, because it tasted just like all the delicious BBQ I used to enjoy when I lived in Memphis. My friend couldn’t stay away from his favorite — the Mex-si Dog. It is bacon wrapped and deep fried — need I say more? Topped with lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos, salsa, and cheese. The deep fryer makes the hot dog so crispy! I also decided I should indulge in the sweet potato tots. I love tots and I love sweet potato fries, so I was sure the sweet potato tots would rock my world, and they did not disappoint! I wouldn’t recommend this to my most health conscious friends, but it’s a must-taste for those who love a mouthwatering meal.
