Very fun! Beer! Pac man! Giant Jenga! The old style arcade games were definitely a last from the past. Good place for us 80’s kids to spend some time reliving the fun of our childhoods with be addition of an excellent green specialty shot they make called the slimer. I think. Parking wasn’t too bad as we just parked for free in a lot about a block away. Will definitely go back when we have a free evening.

If you enjoy arcade games and drinking, then this is the spot to be. From ski ball to pin ball to competitive pacman with your friends, they have entertainment. Arcade games are 50 cents, ski ball is 25 cents. A really inexpensive way to spend your night with your friends. Oh and they have a juke box!

Please inform your security staff that they do have the option of enforcing the rules without being disrespectful and verbally abusive to your patrons. The money I spent last night at your establishment goes to pay your staff’s paycheck. I didn’t intend on using the money I earned working my a$$ off all week to pay to be verbally accosted by a very angry person who has some serious issues that you decided to hire. Sorry mommy didn’t tuck you in at night buddy, but get over it. You’re an adult. Act like one.

Tried to get into here on a Friday and Saturday night and was told I needed to pay $ 15 for a show. Even though I had the money, decided to forget this place as I really just wanted to play some pinball and arcade games not be forced to watch a show. They should really stop milking the crowd this way. Had a much better time at Press Play in Boulder where it’s actually free to enter.

I thought this place was great for a show. The speakers were good, plenty of room to dance, and cheap drinks.

This place has a top shelf collection of pinball. The arcade cabs are mostly older stuff, but they have 4 player pac-man, which is dope. Bar is reasonable but not spectacular. They have shows there, which is awesome, but on nights you just want to get in some pinball & beers you have to pay a cover. Check the website and make sure you’re clear. If you’ve never played it, Crystal Skull hands out multi-balls like crazy. Twilight Zone has a funky set up and an oversized gum ball. Few other solid machines, none of the flippers are hurting on maintenance.

After the renovation that took over the sex shop and added a legitimate stage and venue to the back of the space it’s easily one of the better spots downtown when there’s good music. All the classic arcade games, add in Umphreys Mondays and live streams and you have a great spot. Only problem is when there’s a bad DJ you have to pay the cover to get in regardless of if you go to the venue space.

I’m visiting from Colorado and my friend took me here. I could move here just for this place. What is better than video games, live bands and beer? There was no cover. He band was good, the beer was good, and the video games were fun. The people were chill and friendly. Bring cash, so that you don’t have to use the atm. There is a change machine so you can play all of the games you want haha. I mainly played ms pacman and Simpsons. There were some guys next to be ECSTATIC about some football game. There are quite a few pin ball machines. I had the most fun on the Adams family one: D

This is probably the classiest dive bar ever. You walk in and instantly are transformed back to the 80’s with the aracdes! Love the skeeball and cocktails. I seriously would be here every night if I didnt live so far away. They even have a tiny venue off down a hallway that has live bands and dj’s(although its a bit to rap/hip hop for me) All in all great date night place.

Such a fun place. Arcade games, live music several nights a week and a and a very eclectic, fun crowd. Wednesday is the night to go if you enjoy getting down on the dance floor. Mostly incredibly talented house and edm. I’ve never had a bad time at the 1up Colfax. Expecially is 4 player pac man was involved

I was very excited to have a 1up so close to my house. The 1up downtown is one of my favorites. And 2up(old name) used to be almost as great. Then they added the concert venue. I really think it stinks that you have to pay a cover of $ 15+ to just get in, even if you don’t want to see the show. My husband and I took my brother there for his birthday and after a $ 45 cover total, the band was a guy behind his computer playing the most awful«mixes» I have heard. Maybe he was the opener… Even if the music is bad, I should be able to get a decent beer. I ordered a Great Divide beer on tap and it was flat! I gave it back and asked for a can of something else and the bartender acted like I was asking for Dom Perignon! This 1up gets 2 stars because it still has skee ball and 4up Pacman.(See, I am really not that hard to please!) Take me back when this bar was all about cheap booze and old video games. Or make a separate entrance for the venue.

I love hanging out here, where I can play old school games like Galaga, Ms. Pacman, Centipede(25c), and SKEEBALL(25c). Yes, skeeball. They also have cider on tap, which is huge for me. Bonus star that the bathroom isn’t nearly as… gross as I expected. Call ahead to make sure there’s no cover… I love the place, but if there’s a cover, it means that it’s super busy. No thanks… I don’t wanna spend my evening waiting to play. I’d upgrade to 5 stars if they get either air hockey or shuffleboard!

Just as bad as the one downtown, but with a different clientele. Staff sucks, is rude, condescending, and complete garbage at their jobs of doing the bare minimum. Drinks are ridiculous like the downtown location. I learned my lesson on food at the downtown location as well. But this one charges a cover sometimes for the opportunity to be over-charged by arrogant jerks who suck at their jobs in the SERVICEINDUSTRY. No way.

Awesome BarCade !!! Lots of stand up arcade machines as well as pinball and even ski ball. The bar has a good selection of drinks but it can get super hot inside even with the super fans. The door to get in is not clearly marked so we had to try every door to get in(all it needed was something saying«Start Game here». Make sure you know the hours before stoping over because since it’s a bar it opens late and stays open later. There is also a music hall attached to the arcade but I was glad I stopped over on a non band night so the place was not packed. Word is their other location has much more in the arcade so I would def check that one first if your just looking to get your arcade on. Try the X-Men(4 player) or Mortal Kombat 2 or Street Fighter Anniversary machines !

Looking to play old school arcade games with the accompaniment of a full bar? Not willing to deal with the Dave & Buster’s crowd or their wonky game card system? Then this is where it’s at! Because you’re using actual quarters, you know exactly how much each game costs per play(all the ones I played were 25¢). On top of that, you can get decent, inexpensive drinks to help with the anxiety and disappointment of losing games less than 30 seconds into it. At least for me anyway. Parking can be tricky to find, but not impossible. As Scorpion would say: Get over here!

This arcade and bar, brings me happiness. It is inexpensive and a great way to kill an hour or two playing classic video games. I have heard the venue side is very good too. They have a happy hour, but it only included domestics, not the kind local beer. Though that is a little disappointing, in is overshadowed by the formidable selection of pin ball games both classic and modern, skee ball, and historic Nintendo, Saga, and other video games. They have a few modern games as well, but I prefer the more dated artifacts. Some one said they have a ton of machines, and rotate many selections. In my opinion this is the prefect spot for a date, or a detour on a bar crawl. I have never been to a show here, but came out to see the free broadcast of the latest Dead tour, or to see how bad it was. The other room is cool, the canned sound seemed good. I cannot wait to see a real show here.

this used to be just the 1up. A small bar on colfax that also was an arcade, but about 8 months ago an expansion was made and it is now a 400 person venue AND an arcade bar. This is one of my favorite places to come to in Denver. Wednesday nights are where it’s at!(Although they offer stuff the rest of the week/weekend too) There are always different DJs and genres of music being played and the drinks are cheap. Always a bunch of people there to have a good time, listen to music, and dance. It may not be everyone’s scene but once you experience the 1up a few times you get a sense of what the magic is behind it. I’ve seen a lot of great sets here including waveracer, kinglande, anna Lunoe, gaslamp killer, Minnesota, two fresh, and TONS more. Check out their website to see upcoming shows or just stop in one night, have a few drinks and play some pin ball or skee ball. You won’t regret coming here. It’s like an adult playground :)
