Not surprised that this place gets bad reviews! For the first time, we were just there with our 7 month old baby and the place in fact looked a bit sad. We were hungry and decided to give it a shot. 10 minutes wait which is not bad for a holiday but 20 minutes passed and the family that came behind us were seated and we were still waiting. Are you kidding me!!! We were there before and had a baby! Let me mention that there were empty tables

I had some time to kill before an appointment in the morning and thought, «Hey I’ll get some breakfast!» Meandering the area I ended up at The Egg Shell. I will say that I love the concept. I love the décor and the mismatched chairs and coffee cups. Though being seated at a table with a «Las Vegas Grandpa» mug was a wee bit strange for me. I opted for a mimosa and the California Benedict. The mimosa was quite tasty as was my Benedict. Sadly it seemed like the kitchen staff was a bit disorganized, as they tried to bring me another table’s order. Bummer! I was also under some pressure from the time(self imposed mind you) but I did everything I could to expedite the process. I ordered food at the same time as my drink and I requested a box and my check just before completing what I planned on finishing of my meal. All that effort and I was still seven minutes late for my appointment. Darn it! Oh well… It would be worth swinging back in when I could savor the experience more and perhaps with some company to share it with!

Good spot for brunch, cute patio + interesting menu options. If you’re out for brunch get one of their mimosas. They are 8/9ish a glass, which is more than a lot of other places, but they have fun flavors and they’re a fun addition. At first glance, they don’t have a lot vegan wise. But with a couple easy omissions from menu items, there a few fun options. FYI: Dogs(exception service animals) are not allowed on their patio. I’ve seen people attach dogs to the tree across the sidewalk, but the pups usually can’t see his/her people from that spot. If your pup needs to see you to feel safe, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend bringing them here. You could always way for the table right by the tree. Street parking can be annoying at times.

As soon as we walked in we thought we should turn around and leave; the vibe was just that bleak and sad, but we decided to press on. Every server in this place looked like the walking dead. They all wore sad and depressing faces, and could care less about whether or not you’re being helped or happy with your food/service/order/etc. The poor demeanor of the staff made us really wonder about the owners/managers. As the saying goes, staff are only a reflection of management/leadership; I get the impression there is neither at the Egg Shell of Cherry Creek. Things only got worse from there. Our coffee mugs had lipstick on them. The food was bland and boring. Potatoes were clearly frozen, and the corned beef in the Corned Beef Hash Skillet appeared to have some freezer burn. The jam is a soupy watery mess. Heck… we’ve had better at Denny’s. I could go on about the kitschy decore, but now I’m just nitpicking. We wanted to love this place for its location and convenience, but there’s not one redeeming quality. We’d give it zero stars if we could. Save your dollars.

This place is terrible… There is a reason you can walk in without a wait on a weekend… Slow. Food is bland… Our waiter thought a mimosa was white wine and oj. Bad service. I will never go back and hope I can spare you from wasting your money.

A pleasant surprise after reading the reviews. My wife and I gave it a go after a ridiculous wait time at Syrup! The staff was awesome! So friendly, so helpful. They worked as a team to take care of us. Our food came quickly and was delicious. The outdoor seating was a bonus because it was a beautiful morning. The only critical thing I would say is the portions aren’t huge and it isn’t inexpensive but the benefits out weigh the drawbacks. We will be back!

The highlight of this breakfast was that I got to stare at my sexy husband during the unreasonably long wait for our food. When we finally got it, it was way over priced, small portions and low quality. The low quality part is the most annoying– clearly frozen potatoes(and way too salty), cheap meat… NOTGOOD. An additional frustrating aspect was the sllllloooooow/negligent service. We sat outside and our waiter barely ever came out. We and the guests around us who were being served by this guy were forced to flag down the waitress who was actually present out there, and ask her to get our server– but it didn’t seem to have any effect. The table next to us had to ask for their check several times and just sat there, waiting. My husband and I asked for more syrup and hot sauce THREE times before our waiter brought it to us. *It is incredibly aggravating that a restaurant gives you a tiny portion cup of FAKE, CORNSYRUP and then they have the nerve to be stingy with it?! Ridiculous. I expected real maple syrup, due to the prices* NOTGOOD.

Every time I eat here there is always something wrong with the order. The service is slow and the food is just okay. I would not recommend eating here with all of the other great places in and around Cherry Creek North.

All the side potatoes are made with bacon fat or something and are not labeled or described that way. Not a fun thing for a vegetarian to discover on her own — please label your menu items. Not planning to come back.

We’re visiting from The Woodlands, TX. Very cozy restaurant. Came before 7AM so we were the only ones there. Ordered banana bread French toast, country fried chicken and waffle chicken. They were all good but a little pricey compared to the other breakfast place we’ve been too. Coffee was $ 3.50 and side of egg and bacon was $ 3 each. Overall, we loved the food and service was great.

Very nice establishment. Very clean and comfortable. I had the breakfast burrito smothered in pork green chili and it was nicely presented. However, it was a bit bland. The service is inviting and at attentive, Tyler did an excellent job. In all I would return.

The food was rather bland and took forever to be brought to us. The owner/manager criticized her employers in front of the customers. The«flow» of how the workers accomplished their tasks was very stuttered and broken(not that they weren’t trying to get the job done… just poor management). The staff themselves were friendly and courteous. If the management gets their act together the staff has the potential to make the place rock.

My waitress was really sweet but the management/owner made a huge deal after I had already been seated saying the kitchen is closed. If your waitress seats a 7 month pregnant woman then you take it up with your staff, not the patron. The manager came to my table and said«what do you want to order and I’ll see if the cook will reopen the kitchen and you’ll have to pay for your ticket up front.» Mind you they close at 3:00 and I was arrived a solid 20 min. before they closed. I practically inhaled my BLTA and smoothie just to get out of there. I wanted to like this place because I love to support quaint local businesses but there are just too many restaurants to choose from to go back to a place with such poor management.

I admire the cleanliness of this place. I’ve been having my breakfast here for a lot of times and now and I never had bad experiences about their food and service. Omelettes and benedicts were my top choice. Best benedicts and omelettes.

Was looking for a little breakfast/brunch spot and stumbled upon this little place while charging my electric car just around the corner. Ordered the biscuits and gravy and they were tasty. I also had a bloody which included some pepper infused vodka which was spicy and well made. The bartender was friendly and knew the menu. Better TV placement would be a plus here.

Overpriced food, slow service, and an okay food. Nothing spectacular about the food. If I pay over $ 10 for a skillet, I’d like to have more than just potatoes. Mine was supposed to be corned beef hash, but couldn’t tell if they’d put any corned beef. Eggs were cooked fine though. Rude manager(?) or owner(?) yelling and mistreating her employees in front of her guests. How unprofessional. Never will return again nor recommend this place to anyone.

I dislike this place because of its high price food with the poor portion of the food. Imagine eating a small BLTA for $ 9? Reasonable? No, Higher than the real price? Super. Also tried their Caesar for $ 9. The same poor portion, cant see myself enjoying myself because I was very disappointed in the portion of it.

The foods was good. I had a Fillmore omelet which has feta, kalamata olives and spinach. They happily substituted bacon for the gyro meat, though the sauce was supposed to be on the side, but wasn’t. Not a big deal. The service was very slow at two points. I will say that when we ordered, the food came quickly. I was seated quickly and got coffee and a refill while no one was in the restaurant(7:30 am). However, when we wanted to order and get our check, our waiter had disappeared. I finally had to get up both times to get someone’s attention. So, good food, below average service.

I LOVE The Egg Shell. It is one of my all time favorite breakfast spots. The space is unique and homey, service has always been great(though you can expect every breakfast joint in Denver to have a wait and slower service on the weekends) and I am quite literally obsessed with their breakfast burrito. I bring friends here ALL the time after a night out — it’s the best!

Not the most innovative name but they have several great dishes whether you’re trying to keep it healthy or nurse a hangover with some greasy goodness. Multiple seating options as well. When it’s nice out try the patio which is great for people watching(but you may have to wait for a spot). They also have indoor seating and there’s an indoor ‘atrium’ as well which provides a nice hybrid.
