I came here for a quick breakfast and it was good. The place looks old and antique but the food was good and the service was great. I had the breakfast sandwich. It wasn’t the best I have had but it was good and the coffee was good too. It’s a small quite place, great for working on your laptop or just relaxing.

First time I was there the coffee they made was so bad and watered down that I didn’t even bother taking it with me, just left it sitting on the counter and walked out. Now a few months later I decided to give it another try(what if something changed), and it was the same thing! I ordered Americano and it was basically 90% of water. So this time I told them and they added another shot, which made it slightly better, but it was still pretty awful watered down coffee. Service was not good at all, yet they have the line for tips on the receipt. I can’t get it how is this possible to continuously serve such a horrible tasting coffee and still be in business??? Take example from Pablos — they know how to roast and brew an excellent coffee and certainly know what the good customer service is! Not sure where all the good reviews came from. It’s unfortunate that somebody like«Under Umbrella» takes a prime spot in the nice vibrant neighborhood but provides no value. Embarrassing, and ridiculous. Very disappointing. Never be back.

Very cute café with a wide selection of food and drink. Came for lunch on a Wednesday: Ordered be you might lunch with salad and veggie quiche. Added Nantucket lemonade for a total of $ 11. The coffee menu and pastries looked delicious… I plan to come back!

I’ve wanted to like this place but just can’t accept the horrible service. I’m ok with slow and accurate but their slow, forget orders and never really seem to care that you’ve waited 1hr to get a ham and cheese croissant. If you’re in a rush don’t go here, if you have nothing better to do with your life than sit in a café waiting for orders than this is your heaven.

First time coming here for lunch. I got the Bhakti chai with a super cheese grilled cheese. Delish. The staff is friendly. The food came out super quick. The music is really mellow and chill. The couches look super comfy — I’m sitting on the armchair by the window with the cute little wicker table. Def like this place.

From out of town, stumbled upon this great coffee house. Breakfast sandwiches and homemade croissants were very delicious. I recommend it!

Could be way better, but likely needs better management. I came in around 4 on a weekday, so, not much happening. Three folks behind the bar/kitchen. Went to sit after ordering food and didn’t see a single clean table. Crumbs, drips of things, wrappers, etc. Once someone cleaned a table off kind of half-heartedly, my food came out. The person serving it pointed at a counter about ten feet away and said, «utensils are over there.» There are five people here. I don’t know what this persons role here is or how long they’ve been here today, but I can categorically guarantee this person that grabbing a fork and napkin for a customer will not put you squarely in the weeds. It’s cute, but there’s no reason for me to come back here.

What is up with this place? So inconsistent with service and not a fan of the coffee. Too bad because it’s got a great atmosphere. Also, the owner takes tips which in my mind is reprehensible.

This neighborhood spot is my personal fav. Forget Snooze and come here for the Ham+Cheese+Bacon on a Croissant… I think it was placed here by ancient pharaohs as a gift for us to enjoy!

This great little coffee shop has a lot to offer. I highly recommend the Shannon or BC on sourdough. Jyll, the owner, actually makes a lot of the baked goods herself. The staff is always friendly and the space is just right for a quiet read or meeting with friends. This is definitely one of my go to stops in the hood.

Met a friend here for a chill breakfast date and it was the perfect spot! They have a variety of sandwiches you can choose from. I opted for bacon pesto on a croissant, while she went for breakfast tacos. My sandwich really hit the spot! The pesto, cheese and bacon combo really worked together and the croissant was perfectly sweet and flaky. Don’t miss the variety of hot sauces they have waiting for you on the counter. The green one was my favorite! To sip, I had a dry cappuccino which was delicious. Overall, it was a really pleasant experience with some friendly folks behind the counter. I’ve walked by countless times over the year but never thought to venture in. I ended up returning the next day just for some coffee. Can’t wait to go back and I’ll certainly give more of their baked goods a try!

I love Under the Umbrella! I work down the street, so it is my go to for coffee, tea, or a yummy lunch when I forget to bring one. I think their grilled sandwiches are delicious and reasonably priced. I don’t see very many people ordering sandwiches there, but they are made fresh, they have some unique options(like turkey with green chili) and taste awesome. My only gripe(and it’s a little one) — their ice coffee gets put into the same type of cup as hot coffee, and they tend to get sort of soggy. I’ve been at the end of an iced coffee from there before and had it crumple in my hand! But, that’s my only gripe– I’ll continue to be a regular of this sweet little shop!

Wannabe hipster guy with his grumpy little attitude at the cash register was a telling introduction to this coffee shop. Coffee was fine, food was edible. There was just nothing special going on here. The place is small but cozy. If I was just looking for a space to get some work done, it honestly would have gotten another star(two if the staff could put on a smile), but as a breakfast fix it was not.

Really top notch food and quality place, I searched for a breakfast/brunch place with good ratings in the downtown area this place was near the top and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly, it wasn’t overly busy, and it was a nice place to spend some time. What was really good was that they had toys for little kids so my little one was entertained while we ate so we were able to actually finish a meal. I will definitely be going back and I recommend.

Such a cute little café! I was so excited to have discovered this little gem. They have a great selection of loose leaf teas. Haven’t tried the food here yet, but the food and bakery options look delicious!

I can’t believe I live so close to such a charming place, and it took me this long to check it out! Really good bites, and when I stopped in they had a fantastic violin /guitar combo playing liver music. A real treat, so if you are in the neighborhood, check it out!

Love this place. Great food! Really love the vegetarian chili. A little spicy, great flavor, and comes with a large tortilla. The bagel sandwiches rock too. The coffee is excellent, perfect every time. We like to hang out and relax here. It’s a mellow vibe and comfy. The staff is super friendly and awesome.

Is it amazing! Negative, is it good? Interesting enough it is. A beautiful elegant building with plenty of patio seating. But damn as soon as you walk in, it’s like you just enter someone’s home. I felt awkward and out of place. It was max out with men, women and kids of different social background. Couches and tables everywhere. I order cappuccino, bacon and egg croissant sandwich, and a day old berry muffin all for $ 11. The sandwich was smashing good. Careful with your order everything was smoking burning hot!

I have to admit I was drawn in by the name. It sounded like a cute place so I came to check it out. That and I wanted to go to the bakery next door to get some cake. I ordered drip coffee and a bacon pesto breakfast sandwich. Coffee was a bit on the sour side and too dilute for my taste. Sandwich was edible but not great. The ciabatta bread was not toasted uniformly with part of it was crispy and warm and part of it completely untoasted. Don’t be seduced by the cute name like I was…

Under the Umbrella Café and Bakery will be under the radar for most folks in Denver and to be honest, I wouldn’t of found it without ye olé trusty Unilocal App. My brother, his family, and I were looking for a place to relax and hang out before a scheduled activity. We needed someplace quiet and close. It wasn’t raining outside or anything, but we still chose to huddle Under the Umbrella because this coffee shop near Congress Park and Capital Hill was rated 4-stars and offered free WiFi(PW = phone number). Parking on the street was easy and free. Coffee + WiFi + Family = Smiles Under the Umbrella is a tiny coffee shop in a residential area, but its filled with friendly baristas and comfy couches & seats while proudly serves Pablos Coffee. I got a spicy Chai Latte and a Blueberry Bar while the others chose snacks and drinks of their own choices. We plopped down in some chairs, plugged in our phones, and whittled away 90 minutes just chatting and chilling out. No probs and no complaints. If you live nearby and respect friendly service, decent coffee, and a comfy lounge to hang out then you probably already know about Under the Umbrella … and if you’re just now finding out about it from the Unilocal app, then you can at least say you know now, right? Keep Calm … Drink More Coffee.
