We went here with a deal coupon, and my expectations were something a little fancier. We went on a music night and the atmosphere was a little slow and just not hopping to say the least even in the small restaurant. It was fun music though. The food was pretty good although I wanted more pep or spicy to Cajun fusion. Great service though. Regardless, I don’t think I’d return at full price dinner.

Delicious brunch experience. Even though we ended up having an overly chatty bartender, we enjoyed our visit and will be back for more food and bottomless brunch cocktails. As you’d expect there are the bottomless mimosas and blood mary’s, but in addition Zydeco’s has bottomless hurricanes as well. The mimosas are perfect — a glass of bubbly with just a splash of OJ for color. The hurricanes are equally strong and full of rum-liciousness. We enjoyed the flatiron steak & eggs and the biscuits and gravy. The chicken & waffles were tempting since they came with a cayenne maple syrup. The steak was sliced thin and cooked perfect with just the right amount of pink in the middle. Served with an overeasy egg and a generous helping of green chiles, potatoes, and peppers & onions — it was definitely a filling breakfast. If you’re not big on spice, you might not like the dish. The batch of green chiles on the steak was pretty spicy, although just the way I like it. The biscuits were served with a flavorful, full of spice gravy which is unusual since an unfortunate amount of restaurants serve up incredibly bland gravy. Other items on the brunch menu included a tomato pie, a breakfast casserole, and smoked shrimp and grits … for next time for sure.

Great brunch food, and the absolute BEST happy hour. From 10 – 2 sat and sun get bottomless mimosas, bloody marys, and hurricanes. And, they have the best bloody marys in town.

One of the best restaurants that participated in LoDo Bites. I got to try Alligator sausage(surprisingly delicious), and had great drinks there. Definitely a casual vibe and very colorful ambiance, just like Louisiana. Will definitely go back and check out more of their menu.

I had high hopes for Zydeco’s. A friend and I got a Travel Zoo coupon and decided in the car to give this Cajun place a try. We were disappointed. My friend is a pescetarian who doesn’t eat fried fish, but she is a foodie who dines out often. So when the server told her she couldn’t use her coupon for any of the fish items(it was a price consideration), she offered to pay the difference. No dice. We even asked to see the manager, who walked out with a pseudo-rockabilly hair style and smug look. The first words out of his mouth: «Is there a problem here?» What followed was a polite if frustrating exchange, in which my friend again asked to pay the difference for a fish plate. He refused: «You are basically getting a free meal. We only get covered for 48% of the cost with those [online coupons].» As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, I know those words should never have escaped his mouth. My friend ended up ordering another fish plate(sadly, it was fried and no one told her), and I ordered a luke-warm jambalaya that tasted nothing like New Orleans cuisine. After she was escorted to a back room to complete the coupon transaction, I drank the last of my watered-down sazerac cocktail and we left. This place has bad mojo, bad food and weak drinks. Someone get some voodoo up in here and exorcise this place!

It was a Friday night when we decided to have dinner here with a few other family members. It wasn’t too packed, the live music was just right and we were seated right away and greeted promptly for our order. Then it took a turn for the worse… We spent quite a bit of time here waiting for our food to arrive. More like 30 min for our apps, and 1.5 hours for our food. Although it wasn’t a big deal, as we had plenty of catching up to do with our family, it did get a little tiresome sitting and waiting for what seemed like an eternity when all you had for lunch was a measley PB&J samich… What we learned right before our dinner arrived was that they were working on 4 burners, only 4. It was a good thing they weren’t too busy, but our server could have advised us of that much earlier. Food was coming out the kitchen slower than a clogged drain… But it gets worse… our food arrived and there was one item that was entered wrong. Our server got very defensive about it and said it was basically our fault that it was ordered wrong. Nope, she got it wrong and offered to get the correct plate ordered in under 5 min… I was shocked — it came out in 5 min with 4 burners… hmmmm. From there on she had a bit of an attitude with us and I felt like telling her that everyone makes mistakes, we’re not mad, just hungry and very patient unlike others here. In any case, I ordered the catfish and my hubby the gumbo. My catfish was luke warm, not hot, a little overdone but ok. I was soo hungry I chowed it down. My husband’s gumbo was great(he said). I’m sure the food would be exceptional, but I think shortage on burners caused ill perpared final product served to the tables. Overall, we would give this place a second chance, but may I’ll call ahead first to ask if all burners are in operation.

I am still fantasizing about my brunch I had at Zydeco’s. Images of their delicious smoked fontina drop biscuits with their delectable sausage gravy continue to appear in my head on a daily basis. Zydeco’s is a wonderful gem of a restaurant and worth checking out. It was one of my favorite brunch spots to date. Zydeco’s offers bottomless Bloody Marys, Mimosas, and Hurricanes for $ 8.00. I ordered a Bloody Mary and my husband ordered the bottomless Hurricanes. My Bloody Mary was delicious. The bartender told me he used shrimp stock in it. It was a unique recipe but one of my favorite Bloody Marys I have ever had. It was nice and spicy, just like I like my Bloody Marys. My husband’s Hurricane was delightful and had a nice punch to it. Needless to say, we were pretty toasty by the end of brunch. The food at Zydeco’s was spectacular. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy, which is Smoked Fontina Drop Biscuits with Polidori sausage gravy and red potatoes, peppers, and onions. Good lord, this is what biscuits and gravy should taste like. This is not your traditional biscuits and gravy at all. The gravy was delectable. I did everything but lick my plate to savor every drop of delicious flavor. The sausage is made locally and you can taste the difference. It popped with flavor and was a nice addition to the savory, creamy sauce that was on the biscuits. Now, the biscuits were show-stoppers. They melted in your mouth. The smoked fontina flavor was present and oh my, it was heavenly. The outer rim of the biscuits had a nice crisp where the cheese somewhat caramelized. Cheese carmelization + divine gravy = ecstasy. The biscuits and gravy were one of my favorite breakfast dishes of all time. I just can’t get it off my mind. The man’s dish was also incredible. He ordered the Fried Chicken and Waffles. This was the quintessential Chicken and Waffles. Look at the picture I added and try not to drool. This was THEBEST Chicken and Waffles our lucky taste buds ever experienced. The Chicken and Waffles are topped with honey butter, bacon, and cayenne syrup. The cayenne syrup was awesome. The chicken was flavorful, juicy, crispy, and tender. The seasoning on the chicken was perfect and had the right amount of spice to give it a scrumptious flavor. The bacon was also spectacular. One bite of waffle, chicken, and bacon with honey butter and cayenne syrup was enough to make your head fall back in pure ecstasy. It was that good. The flavors combined wonderfully. It was delicious. The dishes at Zydeco’s are innovative, cajun dishes that are made with fresh, local ingredients. Everything we had was spectacular. The restaurant is also very cute with a friendly, helpful staff. We are eager to return and try their dinner menu. I will be sure to write a review update when I do. Please visit this delicious restaurant. Zydeco’s is too good to pass up. Check out my pictures if you need more convincing.

I love the atmosphere here and they have the most comfortable bar chairs. We arrived on a Friday night for happy hour and were the only 2 in the joint besides the staff. Eventually a few people popped in and out, but not enough — $ 5 hurricanes. I had 2 and was beyond happy and fuzzy and warm. They had a nice smattering of food choices, but we elected the fried oysters(or arsters as my grandpa used to call them) and I didn’t love, in fact, I didn’t really like… What I did love was the piano player. Great dixieland music, just the right volume where I could clap/snap/shoulder shake while still carrying on a conversation. I would definitely return for happy hour, and you should too.

Okay, Zydeco’s is one of my favorite discoveries in quite sometime. Zydecos is a great place with some particularly tasty food. There were four of us and we shared several appetizers and a couple main dishes. We were all very impressed. I’ve been craving the shrimp mac and cheese ever since we were there. It was awesome. The Abita pork nachos were surprisingly good as was the gumbo. I didn’t try the Crawfish Étouffée, but I heard it was really good. The drinks are also tasty and our waitress was lots of fun. My friends had been there once before and she rushed over and hugged them. It’s a great place and I definitely recommend that you check it out!

I took my pops to Zydeco’s for Father’s Day Brunch. The whole family was beyond impressed. Let me start by saying: You had me at bottomless Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas and Hurricanes. I was disappointed to find that the jerk pork chop and eggs dish I had scouted out on their website was no longer available. It had been replaced by a flatiron steak and eggs. I decided to give it a go instead. WOW! That was some of the best steak I have ever had. Was it a ribeye from Capital Grille? No. But the rub that they used on the tender piece of beef was an EXPLOSION of flavor. I literally wanted to lick the plate. Frankly, I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t. I was also able to to sample the Fried Chicken and Waffles with a cayenne maple syrup(amazing). The Grand Marnier Banana’s Foster French toast was on a another level of ridiculousness. Fresh bananas, pecans and Grand Marnier caramel sauce that I’m convinced if I drowned in, it would guarantee me spending the afterlife in heaven. Somehow the bread maintained a crunchiness despite being drenched in delicious Grand-Mar saucy goodness. From a guy who doesn’t care for sweets at breakfast, I would eat this everyday if my waistline would permit it. Finally, I sampled the biscuits and gravy which(I know, shocker…) were as delicious as everything else we sampled. Brunch was perfect! We enjoyed excellent food, with great company, nop notch service while being awash in good music courtesy of the live jazz pianist that serenaded us throughout our meal. I am so excited for my next trip to Zydeco’s. I plan to return soon and often.

Love the place– great Mothers Day Brunch. Only problem the reservation allowed us to make a time after the actual brunch was over. Staff was apologetic about the mix up but please note Brunch on Sunday end(everything shut down at 2p). Hurricane great, chicken and waffle great…

What I had? Red Beans & Rice(seared andouille sausage, peppers, onions, red beans) Food review: I have been on a mission to find some good red beans and rice at a restaurant here in Denver and I am simply having no luck. I was a bit excited at the prospect of another cajun place opening here in Denver with Zydeco’s. Unfortunately, it added to my disappointment. The secret to a good red beans and rice, in my opinion, is the gravy/sauce. This dish had little to no gravy period in it. It was merely red beans and rice with some other vegetables. Blannnnddddd as heck. The most flavorful thing on the plate was the andouille sausage which I’m generally not a big fan of too cuz it’s one of the more flavor-less sausages I know of as well. So here I am. still without a good red beans and rice place. :-(Only casa de Jeff via Vigo’s red beans and rice mix knows how to make a good red beans and rice plate that I’m aware of. Service? No complaints Other thoughts: One thing I did like about the place was all the ska music they were playing even though it didn’t really fit the atmosphere. :-)

The food was fresh, the service was best, the Etoufee is the way to go. A Jack and Coke, a cigar to smoke, is a nice way to end the show.

Fantastic addition to the LoDo District. Have been a few times now and decided it was time to write them the killer review they deserve. The selfish side of me wants to keep this little secret to myself, but I get the fact that restaurants need butts in the seats to survive and I’m not sure my stomach would survive without their frog legs and etouffe. Service has been great every time I’ve gone, even when they had recently opened. Friendly and the Chef(who is a good olé southern boy) is always on the floor and happy to chat it up with you. The fact that he produces the food out of that tiny little kitchen(rumors have it, he has nothing more than an induction burner) is a damn miracle. I’m a fan of the menu and to date, there really hasn’t been a dish I have disliked. Also a big fan of their flavored moonshine. Great way to start and end a meal in my book. Let’s start with the must haves. Frog Legs — moist, huge, mouth-watering frog legs. I don’t know what he does to his batter, but it is insanely flavorful. I’ve taken a few haters with me and basically force fed them to a lady friend and they are now huge frog leg proponents. Crawfish 3 ways etouffe. Scampi, fried and smoked. Again, packed with flavor. Every bite is sinful. Rice is always perfectly cooked. I have fantasies of face planting and taking a nap in this dish. Pimento Mac N Cheese — finally a mac in cheese in Denver that is worthy of any mac n chz aficionado . Beignets are on par with café du monde and the pecan pie is something TO write home about. Also went for brunch and while I prefer the dinner, you need to see the monstrosity that is chicken and waffles. Waffles piled high and then a stake of fried chicken sits atop them with a fantastic syrup. Also offer bottomless mimosas and bloody marys. Haven’t tried the lunch yet, but I plan too. Live music is also a plus. Bottom line this place is fantastic and you are doing yourself and your stomach a disservice every day by not eating there.

What a great little find. I was walking down the street and the neon Abita beer sign caught my eye and I had to pop in for a pint and some cajun grub. I had the crawfish 3 ways etouffe which was awesome. It has smoked, fried, and scampi crawfish mixed in with cajun spices and rice. A great twist to this classic cajun dish. The service was great and on the weekends they do lunch with chicken and waffles which I will have to check out if I am ever back in Denver on a weekend. Don’t believe the bad reviews this place is legit.

They have some kinks to work out in terms of organization, arrangement of the tables, and music, but I can put up with a lot when the food is that good. The gumbo was great, better I think than what I had in New Orleans. The smoked shrimp pasta with Cajun cream sauce was wonderful. And, the bananas foster was delicious. Our server, Eric was great. Go with a laid back attitude and enjoy.

This place just opened on 9÷16÷11 and it looks wonderful inside. The ambiance is beautiful, the waitstaff extremely friendly and the food is wonderful. The Creole is definitely my favorite so far, as well as the mashed sweet potatoes. Everything on the menu however is delightful. I highly recommend the community to check it out. They will soon be having live music and burlesque shows!
