Hopdoddy Burger Bar

I’ll just start by saying not everything about the dining experience was perfect. HOWEVER, what earned this burger bar its five star review was the staff’s response.
Apparently some of the staff were new on the job and there were mix ups at 4 tables at the time I was there. The whole restaurant made up for it like true service professionals
Now then, Hopdoddy Burger Bar is great. My best friend, Josh, and I went to this place for a burger today. Josh was craving carbs because he diets too much and really wanted to try truffle fries. I make my decisions heavily on reviews and we decided to try Hopdoddy.
The first thing I noticed was the menu, which has a broad choice of burgers from ahi tuna, to bison and even hemp seed patties. Interesting stuff.
Josh ordered the Diablo burger and I ordered the Buffalo Bill. Also, we ordered truffle fries. Those came first. The fries were solid. They had great seasoning. Josh and I both liked them.
I also had a margarita which was on point as well.
But when the burgers came, that’s when the problem arose. The Diablo came out just fine, but instead of a Buffalo Bill being delivered, they brought out a Poblano Burger. Uh oh!
Our server, Paul, explained that a nearby table had a similar order as we did, but that the staff accidentally sent out two of the same order. He was very apologetic and looked stressed out. Paul told me he would get the Buffalo Bill out fast for me.
Meanwhile my friend is learning how hot habanero peppers really are. He drank a full liter of water just eating the burger.
The Buffalo Bill came out relatively quickly with an extra side of truffle fries… for free!
Paul even offered to pay for my buddies Girl Scout Cookie mint milkshake. He did in fact, but we made it up to him by adding $ 6 extra tip to our bill.
Nice job, guys! You did great. I’ll be back.

Great burgers with fantastic flavor combinations. Got a chicken burger with avocado and poblanos. Great beer selection. Awesome service — very friendly and prompt. Great location next to Union Station.

This place is dope!
Gabriel was my bartender and was real cool and informative about the food and Denver area.
Food was amazing, I had the continental club turkey burger with chipotle ketchup on the side and it was crazy good.
This place seems really cool and down to earth from the front door all the way to the back kitchen.
Highly recommend this place.

Ok its a bit on the pricy side.
Other then that I loved it! Juicy burger, great flavor. My dad and I split the truffle parm fries and each had a shake, only wish the shakes where bigger.
Our server was great! I wish I could remember his name, chatted with us and was just a great guy.

One of the best burgers in Denver. The fries are great, although they are a little small and can be annoying to grab because you just want to shovel them into your mouth.
The burgers are great. I’ve had the tuna burger, and the el diablo. The tuna was great. The diablo was spicy, but one of my favorite burgers that I’ve had.
The drinks here are rather expensive. I tried a Moscow mule and it’s not made in the traditional way. They just use a ginger syrup. It was ok, but I don’t know if it’s worth the price. They have a good selection of beers to choose from on tap.
Overall this is a great burger joint and one of the best in Denver.

5:00 dinner, we got kind of a cold greeting from the hostess followed by denial of booth seating (not serving that section yet)…which opened up 5 minutes later to the next group that came in, so that made us feel less than special.
That said, table chairs were very comfortable, shakes and burgers were excellent, as well as fries and green chili/​cheese sauce. Server was great. We’re sorry that initial impression was poor.

Good food terrible service
My first vist to HopDoddy was great they gave great food and servace but the second time i expected the same thing but when i arrived that is not what i recieved. I was blocked by a man at the door he informed us that we could not eat there we had to wait 15 to 20 minutes. we told him we were in a rush and we could not stay. But then we noticed that there were about 7 empty tables aAddamsd asked him why we couldn’t sit at one of those. He said that they were reserved by people in the resturant we asked where they were in the resturant and he said they were sitting at the bar we said they are sitting at the bar but had a nother full sized table reserved we asked why they were at both he said there were not enough waiters. He maid no sense.

This place is disappointing the Bloody Mary was awfull
The burgers were way to rare and not specified by server. pink center I would expect medium both of our burgers were raw like really raw! They should have comped the meal since we didn’t eat it but I still payed 50 bucks. Overall i’m not impressed. they should maybe try Lark Burger and see what a real burger taste like. I won’t be back

This place is outta this world! From the unique burgers (the shroom lover is my fav) to the homemade shakes (peach cobbler) this place can’t go wrong!
The location is prime, right next to union station! I have been a few times and I love this place! You will too!

This place reminds me of the Counter but the quality of the burgers is higher. They have some great tasting food and the drinks are actually pretty good too. The Margaritas are $ 4 on HH which is a pretty good deal considering that they are strong. I would recommend the mushroom burger, it is quite tasty.
Overall, great experience. Would highly recommend for everyone in Denver.

I had high expectations for Hopdoddy since it has such a high overall rating but I was pretty underwhelmed by the whole experience. I live right by Sunnyside Burger Bar, which tried the same ordering system and failed hard so I was curious if Hopdoddy did it better and though a friendly employee was right at the door to explain everything, I’m still not a fan. I’d so rather sit at my table and look the menu over, than stand in line doing it. Also, the beer selection and pricing is such a disappointment. $ 7 for a pretty standard Colorado beer that I could find in any restaurant? No thanks.
As for the food, it was just okay. I got the Magic Shroom burger and it was SO rich. It really needed something to contrast with the beef, mushrooms, goat cheese and basil aioli (that was oozing out of the burger). We got an order of regular fries and I thought it was so weird that they bring them out right away before your burger gets there. I did really like the dipping sauce options though and the chipotle ketchup was our favorite. Overall, this place just isn’t worth the price. There are way better burgers to be had in Denver.

I will eat Ahi Tuna fixed about any way. Tonight it was as a burger at Hopdoddy! Incredible flavor with the Teriyaki, Honey Wasabi, Mayo and Pickled Ginger. My dinner companion had the El Diablo and he was in some pain LOL from the chili’s so don’t order this unless you are die hard! The only reason I didn’t give Hopdoddy a 5 is because I wasn’t a huge fan of the Parmeasan Truffle Fries. They weren’t hot and didn’t really have much flavor. Beer was great and service was excellent! I also love the décor!

I just cannot get enough of this place! Great place to watch a game or just meet up with friends. My friends and I are obsessed with this place, so we often come for birthdays because they’re great about accommodating large groups and will even let you bring your own cake.
Without a doubt you MUST order the truffle fries! They come in a large basket meant to share (although I admit I’ve finished one off by myself a time or two) and are something you’ll be dreaming about for nights to come! The Magic Shroom burger is my absolute favorite, although I’ve had the chance to sample most of the burgers and they’re all delicious.
A solid draft beer selection and great house cocktails (order a round of Little Larry’s for yourself and be prepared to call an Über home).

This establishment suffers from a confusing mix of fast-​food and restaurant service paradigms. Table numbers. Waiting in line. Pseudo-​waitstaff. Who do I tip and when? Where do I get water? Did I do something wrong? Is this Qdoba or Denny’s? I wonder if the employees tire of seeing confused patrons standing anxiously at the front of the restaurant looking about for help.
The burger, promised to be medium-​well, was rebelliously medium. Volumes of grease soaked the bottom bun, my hands, and my face. The price of the burger with side was unwarranted for any establishment that requires a queue.
The atmosphere is the opposite of comfortable and authentic. It’s a cookie cutter corporate masquerade, a cuckoo among its established neighbours. This is an urban Panda Express for trend followers who don’t understand service or cuisine.
The one positive is that the staff are kind, helpful, and downright attractive urbanites (hipsters). I appreciated their hand holding as I stumbled through this social experiment.
My recommendation? Cross the street and experience the real Denver.

One of the best burgers in town. And milkshake. Great atmosphere near union station. I had slow service but it was worth the wait.
Truffle fries are a bit too rich but I have been pleased with pretty much everything here. Magic shroom burger and stout shake are my favorites. My fiancé tried Caesar and said it was unique and very tasty (if you want a salad…)

This place is delicious.
We walked by and the letters on the window drew us in: full bar, local beer, burgers, fries, shakes.
Seriously, what more could you want.
My fam and I had a couple drinks and shared an order of fries. Just a quick snack before the Rockies game.
Couldn’t have asked for a better place.
Not only did we devour the fries, but we couldn’t stop complimenting them.
The service here is fabulous… Attentive and friendly.

I was here for an Unilocal tasting event and was back a few times after scoring a $ 25 gift card. I got to try a few different burgers, salads, and shakes while I was here. I’ve tasted the classic, magic shroom, greek, thunderbird, ahi tuna burger. The burgers have a lot of flavors and is a good sized portion. I personally liked the ahi tuna and classic burgers. I thought the ahi tuna burger was unique and creative and tasted pretty good. Their truffle fries are also really good — either as a side or as a starter.
Of course, you have to try their shake if you have room for dessert. I’ve had the Lemon Olive Oil Biscotti, Caramel & Sea Salt, and Nutella & Chocolate Pretzel. All of these flavors have been really good (although very very sweet). I really enjoy the lemon olive oil biscotti shake because it is refreshing and not as sweet as the other ones I’ve tried. People here are very friendly and service is pretty fast. The only downside with any places in downtown is the parking!

I kept hearing about this place from co-​workers and friends so when I got to pick the lunch spot yesterday I hopped on Hopdoddy (I think I’m funny sometimes)
If you have never been here, you order and pay near the kitchen and they bring food to your table where you also get assigned a waiter. This is a little weird to me because if you end up getting more food/​drink at your table you will have to pay an entirely new bill. Why not pay one time, at the end? Oh well what do I know. Moving on…
To start, I got a side of the Parm Truffle Fries for the table to share. Those were the best damn fries I’ve ever had and I would go back just for those. I think they were only like $ 6 and you got enough for 3 people. I enjoyed the fries so much I barely could finish half my burger (the Llano Poblano) but NO REGRATS
Check this place out if you want a good bite near Union Station. It’s more pricey than your fast food burger, but the high quality of ingredients is apparent. Highly recommended!

This was a great downtown restaurant by the ballpark.
My service and food were fantastic, a really great meal.

While living in Austin for 3 months for work, I fell in love with this local joint. There was always (ALWAYS) a line out the door and around the corner. I love that a little piece of Austin is a few miles away from me.
The ahi tuna burger is incredible. The milkshakes are a thing of the past for me, as I found out recently about a cow and goat milk allergy, but they are AMAZING! They will mix flavors for you!
What I got this time: the bison burger as a lettuce wrap without cheese or any sauce & I added avocado. I apologized for my complicated order but they were super gracious. It was full of flavor with just the right amount of crisp on the outside to compliment the juiciness on the inside.
What I didn’t like: it’s at Union Station — which means parking is a beast!
