Beware: I’ve been going to Bangs since 2007 and will never be returning again. If I could give it ZERO stars I would. I went in with a picture of a lighter brown and left with uneven brassy/orange hair. I paid $ 250 including tip and when they washed off the color I told them immediately that I didn’t like it and that it looked nothing like the picture. They all acted very dismissive. So I went in the next day and paid another $ 30 for a blowout hoping if I styled it better maybe it would look better. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the color and the girl said that that’s a known issue for 7B and that it comes out red! Well you’d think for the money I paid and the time I spent there someone would have recognized that the picture I showed them was not red/warm at all. Neither was the swatch. The next day, I left work early because all my coworkers were commenting on how Bangs had messed up my hair so I went back at 7 pm and asked for toner to be put on my hair(takes 10 minutes or so) for it to look less orange, there was no one waiting and a few girls available but they said they don’t color hair after 7 pm. I explained that I was very busy and left work early to come there and that I don’t mind paying AGAIN, if they could please accommodate me. They called a manager and the girl was again SO dismissive and confrontational, saying she was there when I had the color done and that it had come out exactly like the swatch. I asked her to bring it out and compare it to my hair and she refused. She then asked why did I come back and get it styled if I was unhappy? She had absolutely no concern that I was unhappy or embarrassed to rock super brassy hair. I was basically standing there with my phone and credit card talking to her in a normal tone and then she said if I didn’t leave she would call the authorities! I was standing there with my jaw to the ground. If I talked to someone like that at my job I would get fired. Do not go to this place. I read other people had similar experiences. For those prices you can go to better places. The people who work there are rude and there is absolutely no customer service or guarantee.

Does anyone at this place like to work or make money? They have a waiting room full of people and stylists either go in back room immediately after they finish a customer or they blow dry a current customer for about 30 minutes! Do they not understand that the faster they move the more $ they make? This wait of almost an hour is ridiculous! How about putting more stylists on the floor? I thought this would be a bit more upscale than SuperCuts for my teenagers haircuts– I will be seeking out a new place!

This used to be my absolute favorite salon but lately, they’ve been awful. I went in recently with a picture of a girl with very light brown hair with dark brown peekaboo highlights. I have brown hair so it shouldn’t have been a hard feat. Well the stylist fed me some line about how she couldn’t do it because I have boxed dye on my hair so she had to redo my color and then give me highlights? None of this made any sense to me but I just went with it. $ 200 later and my hair not only looks awful, but it looks NOTHING like the picture. I went in looking for a nice summer brown and left with my most bronzey highlights I have ever seen. I’ve been going to bangs since 2008 and I will not be returning.

I will never be returning to this location or any other Bangs locations. I had my hair done and paid $ 150 and after a week the highlights have washed out and faded drastically. They had to bleach before they could put in the color. now the color has faded in patches to where you can see the bleach spots. when I called to ask how long it should be lasting they told me it will start to fade after 3 – 4 weeks. Then after I explained the situation they started saying oh well that’s typical everyone is different but had me come in to look at it. When I went in they refused to do anything now changing and saying they only have a one week policy and if I was unhappy and came In within the week they would have done something. I’m sorry I was 2 days after the week and I regardless don’t think that the color should be this bad after a week!!! NEVERWILL I RECOMMENDTHISSALON to ANYONE!!!

I go to bangs for hair styles, like a blow out before a concert. They always do a good job. I don’t like the shampoo stations, though. I find them uncomfortable, but that could just be me. I can just walk in without an appointment and be seen within ten minutes.

*WARNING: This review is based on a man’s experience. Prices and experiences may vary if you’re a female!* I’ve been to this Bangs a handful of times and have always enjoyed my experience. There are a couple of Bangs locations in Buffalo, but I generally prefer this location or the one on Niagara Falls Blvd next to Wegmans. Since I’m a guy, I try to shoot for a Tuesday or Wednesday because they have a special where men’s haircuts are $ 15. I think it’s $ 20 for men on any other day and $ 10 everyday for a complete buzz cut, so I feel the price is very reasonable. For that price they wash your hair with this tingly mint shampoo and massage it in, which feels amazing. Have you ever had someone massage your head before? Holy crap is it therapeutic! As a child my father would take me to Supercuts and I’ve come to realize that Supercuts and Fantastic Sams are the ‘fast food’ versions of the hair cutting industry. And with any ‘wham bam thank you ma’am’ joint, you’re never going to be too happy with what you get which is why I started going to Bangs. You can either schedule an appointment or walk in, I suggest you call ahead of time to see how busy they are though. There have been times I walked in and the wait time was close to 2 hours long. Aside from cutting hair, Bangs colors hair, does eyebrows, I even saw a bride have her hair styled for her wedding day. This place is always clean and incredibly organized, they don’t pester you to buy their hair products, and the stylists are always fun to talk to. They can provide you with a nice selection of hair styling books to choose from while you wait. I also found out you can even donate your hair at Bangs which I have considered before. They’re very informative about it if you’re ever interested. So guys, if you’re flipping a coin to determine whether or not you want to get your hair mauled by the Hoosteresque ‘stylists’ at Lady Jane’s or get a great haircut at a reasonable price, then put that coin away and give Bangs a shot!
