I’m upping them to 4 stars since my last review. I had a most delicious reuben at Margie’s last night. Piled high with thin sliced corned beef, melted swiss, real Rye bread and lots of kraut. I’m a sauerkraut freak and I am disappointed with a reuben that skimps on the kraut. Not here, and they mix the Thousand Island dressing right into the kraut which works out perfectly. The sandwich was a little sloppy but it still held together when I was eating it. Expertly prepared. It seems a lot of restaurants serve reubens that have thick bread that isn’t really rye and with very little corned beef. Here the meat is the star of the dish, not the bread. My wife had the small fish fry which was still huge. Last time I was here I wasn’t flabbergasted by the fish fry but I tried some of it and I did find it to be quite good. The fish was not overwhelmed by the batter this time and tasted nice and fresh. Our waitress was great, did not get her name but I saw all of the wait staff hustling so I’m surprised to read reviews with complaints about the wait staff. No complaints here with the service. The only minor quibbles are that the menu does not list a price for the fish fry. It just says«market price». Nobody does this for a haddock fish fry, I’m not sure why they insist on doing it this way. Also, my wife liked the fish and the french fries but did not enjoy the other sides and she is fussy about those sides of coleslaw and macaroni salad. But that can be a personal preference. Of course, this is essentially a neighborhood watering hole with very good food. Don’t come looking for exquisite modern décor. Come for the awesome sandwiches, reasonably priced drinks and comfort food.

Their soups are homemade and delicious. Great sandwiches too! The turkey is carved off of the bone for the club sandwich. Absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately I had to stop going there. They have an waitress named Dorothy who will not allow any customer input to their order. Want your fries well done? Forget it! «Our cook knows how to do her job» is the response. Want the breaded fish? Nope, battered is better and battered is what you will get regardless of what you ordered. This happened on 3 occasions, so it is not a mistake. I am sorry, when I am paying for a meal, I should be able to have it prepared as I prefer, within reason of course. The other waitress, Mary is a sweetheart, but I got tired of playing roulette. Also the kitchen is closed Mondays. The bar is open, but not the kitchen. This is not reflected here.

Ick. The best part of this hole in the wall? We got to park right by the front door. The worst part was the almost non-existent service. The«waitress» brought water instead of the drink we ordered, then we couldn’t get her to come back until she brought our food. She then forgot to bring back a refill for my partner. The fish fry is absurdly large, so get the mini, which was too expensive at $ 11! The sandwich I got was good, not great. I could get one like that anywhere. I’m told the coleslaw was good. The décor was gross, it’s like someone’s basement filled with crap you wouldn’t hang in your house. I’m sure every time a regular sees some Betty Boop crap at a garage sale they give it to this place and then find some spot to hang it. When we were done, we had to ask for the check and then ask twice for her to take it. Sounds like that’s because it was busy, right? Wrong, there was one other party. This place just looks like lazy people work here. It shocks me that anyone would rate this place a 5, seriously? There were squished French fries on the dirty linoleum floor people, have some pride.

Great place, been there many times food is always great. Everyone has a place in mind for their favorite fish fry, well this is mine. Not only is the fish good, but the portions are huge. Recommended 100%.

As previously stated, it’s all about the fish frys! There pretty dam good here. Why do I know this? Fridays draw a full house and with another establishment across the street parking is full when Fridays roll around. My little Margie’s is small inside so you best get there early to have a seat! Along with the fish they do offer dinners and a two option sized burger that’s a fairly decent size that rivals there neighbor across the way! There roast beef is good and has been overlooked in reviews thus far and I would certainly make it second choice on my list! My little Margie’s is my pick for local fish so when and if in the area give them a try!

Awesome fish fry! I have never actually been here, as I am the lucky one who never gets stuck doing the pick up! But the fish fry is fantastic! Definitely CALLAHEAD! The wait will be very long if you don’t! They have two different sizes you can order — small or large. The fish fry comes with macaroni salad, potato salad, and coleslaw. I am not really a fan of any of these, but I did try to macaroni salad and it was good. Only complaint I would have — last time they forgot to give us lemon wedges with both orders!!! That is an absolute must with a fish fry.

I’ve only gone here once because I heard their fish fry was really good. I have to say I was very disappointment. It was more breaded than that crispy thick dark brown breading thats full of flavor. I always say try everything twice, but don’t have second thoughts on passing this one over, you aren’t missing much.

I had to pay extra to box my fish separate from my sides, that I didn’t mind. When I got there it was all in one box! I notified them of this, the bartender said it would be fixed. There idea of fixing the situation was take 15 mins to scrap all the sides into one small box all together with the fish crumbs, and leave the fries under the fish so they were soggy… I am never returning and I recommend to all not to go back either. The part that really gets me is they charged me to ruin my food, and took 15 mins to do i

A diamond in the rough. The facility may not be the greatest, but the food is fabulous. The«Mini-Ha Ha»(regular fish fry) is all you need, and one of the best fishfry’s in town.

BIGGEST fish fry in all of WNY. It’s also amongst the best. Service is lagging. Wait time is very long, due to a small dining room. Parking… good luck with that. Atmosphere could using some perking up. The crowd is generally much older /prehistoric. But it’s a tremendously huge portion and it’s good. The chowder is also excellent. This place is worth going to at least once.

The most amazing fish fry to be found! You will wait for it… Forever. It’s worth it but you probably should have something to eat before you go there because you will faint waiting in line in a crowded tap room with sports on television. Parking a challenge pricing up there but one fish fry can comfortably feed two people and it is very fresh.
