The Scotch and Vine has been on my bookmarks forevererererrr, so I was super stoked to give them a try! The restaurant is a lot smaller than I expected it would be, so I can imagine they get cramped on Friday and Saturday nights. We went on a Sunday evening though, so it wasn’t too bad. It’s very cozy and cute, with lots of little lights and cute touches everywhere. We sat the bar so we were seated quickly. The bartenders were super cool guys and actually jumped into our conversations a few times(in a totally cool way, not weird). I ended up trying a half order of the Mac & Cheese and a Basil Lemondrop. The Mac & Cheese was good, but all you could taste was straight smoky GOUDA. It said it had several different cheeses so the gouda was almost overwhelming. I know, I know… It seems impossible to have«too much gouda» but it’s a thing. The Basil Lemondrop didn’t have a touch of basil whatsoever. At $ 11 a pop, I expected more. I don’t think I even finished it. I can’t say that I’ll be back, but glad I tried it for the oneee time.

What a fun hidden gem! Menu items were all carefully thought out and mostly if not all made in house. All of their sauces, dressings, chips and dips have addicting mouth watering flavors. The staff members are attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Scotch selections are never ending with price ranges from$ 10 – 200. Décor is simple and elegant. Dress up or dress down depending on your occasion. Can’t wait to make our way back here. I wish I took photos for you guys but I simply forgot the moment I walked in and was swept away by everything. My food lasted an entire 3 minutes before it was gone never to be seen again. I have to say though if you’re passing through or live close by venture out to this place and give it a try.

Our dinners were delicious; our service was poor. Water glasses never refilled, and we gave up on a glass of wine with dinner. Chef deserves 5 stars. Server might want to act like customers matter.

Cute little eclectic bar/restaurant. The S&V Platter will surely feed 4 as an appetizer. It was fresh and the Rosemary crackers were lovely. My DH ordered the Owners Meal. Filet was slightly more mid rare than rare as ordered. The prawns(extra cost) were plump and succulent. The asparagus was properly steamed and the au gratin potatoes were comforting. He said the beef needed seasoning. No salt or pepper in the table, which I am ok with if you properly season your food! I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup, but unfortunately something didn’t sit right with me and I needed to get it boxed up. Wait staff very efficient and observant. I would return if back in Seattle.

I’ve been a patron of this bar since it opened. During the summer a weekly visit to my favorite local watering hole is tradition. I read through the some of the criticism regarding condiments. I never noticed whether condiments came with meals, I’m not a condiment person. Their food is fantastic and happy hour is great. I would caution some meals have large portions — The Osso Buco is enough for 2 people. The upstair room I’ve rented for team celebrations. I’m very grateful they are still around. Because I live in Des Moines, I’ve done take out from there. Very classy place with great ambiance. The thing I do hate, it’s become so popular it’s best to make reservations if you are with more than 2 people; you can sit at the bar otherwise.

Went here on a Saturday night. Service was prompt and attentive despite the delay on refill on the sodas that were ordered in our group. Would give this place five stars but surprised by the server’s response that they cannot provide standard ketchup and mustard to accompany the burgers that were ordered by our group. Condiments provided with the burgers were limited as well. Place has a good ambiance — a nice, modern addition to the area which has limited dining options due to the demographic. Would come back here to check out the bands that they have every other Saturday.

I thought I wrote a review for this place!!! Looks like I did not. You would never of thought there would be a cool, quaint, barish, restaurant, neighborhood pub-ish steak house located here. It adds to the uniqueness. The appetizers are wonderful and my ribeye was delicious. The Filet, eh, you might have better luck going with the ribeye. Service is good and the waiter staff is friendly. These quaint places are disappearing fast in the area, so enjoy this one if you get a chance.

Went for the first time last night with friends. The food was amazing. None of my friends had complaints about the food, which is rare when we go out lol. Great place and nice people!

If you love your whisky, this is the place to go! OMG! Whisky flights?! They have quite an extensive whisky menu. Some can get quite pricey depending on the whisky. Came here with a date not knowing what to expect. There’s not much parking in front of the restaurant but you can park all along the front of the other businesses nearby. We didn’t have any issues with finding a spot. This is a small quaint place with a great ambiance. It’s quite dim but it works well with the place. I love the random décor placed around varying areas. The service was amazing! They were on top of things at all times without being aggressive. Our server was also very informative and answered all my questions regarding the wines and the food. There’s Happy Hour from 4 — 6pm daily but we didn’t take advantage of it. Now the food. OMG! The Pork Osso Bucco was delicious! It was so tender and flavorful. It was a huge hunk of pork shank that I ended taking most of it home. My date had the double cut pork chop on potatoes au gratin with a caramel sauce. I had a bite of that and that too was excellent. For an appetizer, we had the fingerling potatoes topped with onions, cheese, and bacon. The bacon was sweet and worked well with the dish. The potatoes had a really nice crunch and the perfect salted seasoning. I had a glass of Five Star Cellars Cabernet, which paired perfectly with my meal. My date had the Brother Thelonius Abbey Ale and it was really smooth. Next time we’ll have some whisky. maybe a whisky flight. Oh. and the water is served with a slice of cucumber. The bathrooms are only for one person. It’s cutely decorated with random art on the wall. They actually provide real towels to wipe your hands dry with and a bin to throw the towels in when you’re done. The check is presented in a wooden cigar box. I love all the small touches. If you’re going to come by here during peak times, I suggest making a reservation as it gets quite busy and its not a very big place. We had gotten lucky. We arrived in perfect time right before the dinner rush and were seated immediately. I will definitely be back here! The food is wonderfu! The service is amazing, and I loved the relaxing ambiance. Oh. and I did enjoy my date. :-)

Wonderful place to sit and enjoy a nice glass of scotch and have a cheese plate. The dinners are also fabulous, well portioned and high quality food. The duck and lamb are very tasty and are well garnished. Great place for a date or just a night treating yourself!

The first time I came here was all because of a groupon and now I can’t stop coming back! I’ve been here a few times and each time is just as good as the last. The place is fairly small; it’s dim and intimately cozy with lots of trinkets on the walls. Service is great great great! Friendly and efficient. They work with a sense of urgency without being overbearing. It almost makes me miss my old waitressing days… The food is delicious! The burgers are simple, leaving the main star to be the meat. They have many burgers featuring Kobe, andouille sausage, elk, lamb, etc. Sauces and garnishes are present and they harmonize well with the meat without overpowering it. You a get real, juicy, meaty burger and they ask you how you want your meat done! The fries that come with it are one of my favorite parts about this restaurant. They’re huge, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. Unfortunately, they weren’t as crispy today :(inconsistency disappointed me tonight but I haven’t given up hope! When you come by, I hope you get perfect fries! They’re so worth the coin toss. The seafood puttanesca was probably my least favorite thing I’ve tried thus far; the sauce is too tart-tomatoey for my taste. But the big scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly. Happy hour is amazing(4−6pm) though the portions are small. Most items are around $ 5 so it’s not bad at all! Calamari is not as crunchy as I’d like but it had a real calamari taste to it. I don’t usually like smoked cheese but their Mac and cheese is soooo good… They’ve converted me. A couple other appetizers I loved are the gnocchi(half order is $ 8), and the shrimp & grits(perfectly cooked shrimp, buttery grits).

Exquisite and relaxing. And we found it through a Groupon! Lamb chops(3 of them!) perfectly medium rare with an amazing cherry glaze impressed; my wife had the opulent pork chop with apple and potatoes au gratin. Our server, Tara, was attentive and friendly, but not overly fussy. She gave us the feeling we’d known each other for years even though it was out first visit. Davey at the bar where we had tiramisu for desert was lovely. What I really enjoyed overall was the friendly, casual vibe with superbly high quality food. The wine list is for days… We’ll definitely return.

why did i come here, and why will i come back again in the future? is it because they have… four pages of scotch? a really beautifully designed, eclectic menu? a wine tasting of three different wines at a reasonable price? hipsters working behind the bar? glasses of water with a slice of cucumber in each glass? amazing macaroni and cheese? french fries with three different sauces? why don’t you answer for me, Unilocal

We have eaten here several times but it looks like I never wrote a review. I will base this on our most recent visit although my wife and I have totally different experiences. I had the coronary burger with fries and it was amazing. Just exactly what I wanted. I actually prefer a good burger to a steak most of the time and I like restaurants that take the time to make a good burger. My wife had a steak but it was not what she was looking for. She ordered it medium rare but it came done and tough. The worst part was the mashed potatoes. Really really over peppered. She ended up sending them back to the kitchen. The waitress came back and said the chef agreed that they were over seasoned and was embarrassed that he had served them to so many people that night. Our question was… «don’t you taste the food you cook». She said that they can’t taste everything. A little disturbing. So… I give it 5 stars. She gives it 1. I will go with a 3.

Found this place on a rainy Pac north night. Warm and inviting. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Immediately greeted and given a great seat. Started Flight of 3 reds. Cab franc, red blend, cab sav. All Washington. Excellent selections and fair priced. Although some of the wines were substituted, but still great. You can also do scotch flights as well. Didn’t eat a full dinner this visit but the apps i had demonstrated artisan craftsmanship and an appreciation for quality not easily found at many restaurants. Pork belly was crisped outside and melted away inside. Served with a subtle spicy mustard and a garnish if pickled red onions. Hummus plate was also excellent. Two types sampled. Traditional and red pepper. The kicker was the house made yukon gold chips to scoop it all up with. They have an amazing menu and daily specials as well as an extensive list of scotches, wines, and classic cocktails. Open table friendly. Highly anticipating my next visit.

So glad we found this little gem in our trip to seattle and we picked a good night to go there. The staff was was nice and accommodating. Went there on Saturday night and there was a jazz trio playing in the corner and the lead singer was nice enough to talk to everyone in between sets. We ordered the calamari which was good because there was a garlic butter sauce underneath.(I think it was a butter sauce, whatever it was, tasted good Haha) We also got their bbq shrimp and grits which was amazing! They didn’t skimp on the shrimp which were huge and there was chunks of beef in there too. Only thing I wasn’t fond of was the cheese in the grits. Their beer is good and I got a twist on a Moscow mule which was pretty sweet. I wish we stayed in seattle a little longer so we could’ve tried more. Looks like I’ll have to take another trip back!

Almost all good things to say about this place. The service is excellent. All friendly people that seem genuinely friendly and happy to be there. The atmosphere is good. It’s a small place but comfortable. It’s a tad loud when it gets full though. But I’m sensitive to noise so take that judgment with a grain of salt. The food was overall very good. The pork belly appetizer was delicious! Fatty but not greasy. Actually the duck was the same, which worked great, and was perfectly cooked at medium rare. The halibut special came with a lime vinaigrette, which was awesome, and although the fish tasted wonderful I did feel it was just slightly overcooked. Not enough to ruin the dish, I still enjoyed it, but it was enough to make it my least favorite of the night. Both entrees came with roasted asparagus and fingerling potatoes, which were perfect and simple. The only two major complaints I had were that the wine by the glass seemed exorbitant and seemed like small pours for the price($ 13-$ 14 per glass, and maybe it was a 5 oz pour), and it annoyed me that their ribeye only comes in a massive 32oz size. The waiter says that people typically split one between two or three people, but that seems pretty gimmicky to me. I was really looking forward to having a ribeye but there was no way I was ordering a $ 5832oz slab of beef. Anyway, the entrée I chose instead was still very good, but I couldn’t shake the feeling of disappointment about the steak.(I know they have sirloin too, but I don’t like that cut.) In spite of a couple of annoyances I will still definitely go back again, and would recommend this place for a nice meal.

This place is a hidden gem. My boyfriend and I came on a Friday evening to celebrate the end of the week. Our server rocked also. We started with the fried pork belly — so fatty, tender and melt in your mouth delicious. My boyfriend ordered the 30 oz. ribeye steak… and boy did it seem more than 30 oz. Definitely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had a taste of. I ordered the pork osso bucco. So. Much. Food. So delicious! I couldn’t finish my entire plate and had great leftover for lunch the next day. We will definitely be back, and want to check out the Scotch tasting soon!

The essential elements are not here for a restaurant at their price point. Service was confused and sporadic. It took them a while to seat us, although no one else was waiting, tables were open, and we had reservations. The bartender seated us eventually and took our drink order as we looked over the menu. We waited. And waited. Although we were«buzzed» by a couple of servers, none stopped at our table. It was looking like we were an «S.E.P.»(somebody else’s problem). Finally, the bartender came back with drinks and took our order. Then we waited a good while longer. First course, delivered by a waiter, was weak. Steak skewers were scanty, about half the portion of those served to tables nearby and over-cooked, served with a chipotle mayo. The salad was over-hyped, over-dressed, and underwhelming with scant goodies: 4 paper-thin slices of strawberry, 3 pinkynail-sized dabs of yellowed bleu cheese, and a smattering of pithy nuts. It was a good idea gone terribly wrong. We were beginning to think we had made a mistake. Main courses, delivered by the bartender, were gargantuan and poorly plated. The pork«osso buco»(just a pork shank, really; true osso buco would be served in a ragu and the bones would be cut to expose the marrow) was the size of my forearm, at least a pound of meat and another of bones, served sauceless next to piles of oily fingerling potato halves and a jumble of roasted garlicky cauliflower bits. Monotonous to look at, monotonous to eat. I finally broke down and ordered a side of mustard just for want of acid to cut the oily, fatty, unctuousness of it. My wife’s duck was very generously portioned, with the same potatoes and cauliflower, served with a tart cherry sauce. It was finished to proper doneness, pink and moist in the center, but had not been seared correctly so the skin was mushy, not crisp. Our dirty plates sat on the tableside for ten minutes before someone noticed. Dessert was eventually served by yet another waiter(we were at a loss as to whom we were tipping at this point, but I was rooting for the bartender). My tiramisu was good, but likely store-bought, and just sliced and flopped onto the plate. My gal’s bananas foster was served flaming, which was fun, but it deteriorated immediately into a soup of boozy goo. Another miss. Total bill was well over $ 100, but luckily we had a coupon, which took some of the sting out of it. This place really needs to have a look at the food and service from the customers viewpoint, and promote quality over quantity on the plate; sharply plated, perfectly cooked smaller portions instead of monotonous, Fred Flintstone-sized disappointments and misnomers. They’re making some expensive mistakes in the kitchen, the sort that break good restaurants. The drinks were the highlight of the meal. Can’t recommend this place right now.
