Never had a bad thing from B’s. The coffee is outstanding and the bakery goods are not that generic crap that all tastes the same. I’ve had a peach cobbler muffin, cinnamon bread pudding, key lime pie, toffee brownie, and I can’t even remember the rest. EVERYTHING is excellent there. Some say the staff is rude. I’ve never experienced rudeness per se, more like aloof and/or oblivious. It’s sort of like they’re just zombies walking around aimlessly, hence why I never eat in, only carry out. But seriously the best deserts ever! And I just learned that there is a location inside the Park Ridge train station; only Monday through Friday but still good to know! We even ordered this gorgeous chocolate cake for a birthday and not only was it amazing to look at, the taste and texture were devine.

This is a cute little place to meet up with a friend and grab a coffee and a treat. The staff is so friendly and the desserts are well made and a large variety available! The pricing is very reasonable too!

I had a bad experience, as a trained pastry chef myself, I was expecting good old fashion Danish and coffee cakes when I found out a bakery is finally in Des Plaines…, but only found super fancy French dessert expensive items you don’t want to bring home to the kids. I feel while the presentation may look ok, its not what a bakery represents.

This is a great bakery! They have a variety of goodies and all the things I’ve had so far do not taste artificial, aren’t too sugary but are filled with flavor! I’ve had their tea and cappuccino too… awesome! If you’re in the area, try their tarts, Danishes, mini cakes and pound cake!

Love this place! As a small business owner with a home office, I love meeting clients here. It;s quiet, the service is friendly and the pastries are fantastic! The cinnamon rolls are incredible. All the individuals pastries I’ve tried have been scrumptious — and reasonably priced. I have never been disappointed.

Bought some cupcakes for my sister’s birthday. They were totally stale and hard. I called to complain and the woman told me to bring them back in for a refund. I packed them back up and drove them back. She gave me a refund, apologized and when I tried to explain they were stale and hard she said she would check herself. I saw her touch them and she said nothing. She voided my purchases and said I would not be charged but if I was I could just come back to get the refund. Not the best experience, I expected a little more accountability, possibly a more genuine apology for making me pack up everything and drive it back. No big deal. However, my sister was also upset and sent an email. The owner/managers response was ridiculous. Owner/manger’s partial response: The batch of cupcakes got switched with old ones that were supposed to be turned into the bread pudding. We refunded the money and apologized to your sister. Never is the intent to ruin a birthday, we fixed the problem as best as we could. Unfortunately, for you this wasn’t an appreciated gesture. If they totally made a mistake she could have owned up to it while I was there, offered to replace them, or offered a cookie to show they don’t serve horrible desserts, but instead they just did the bare minimum. I won’t be going there again.

My friend bought some pastries from here the other day because we’ve never tried them before, I will keep it short and say it wasn’t all that great, and I’m not a picky person when it comes to sweets, I can live off of it alone, but they kinda tasted old or something even though it probably wasn’t who knows, some lacked flavor, and this muffin I had a tough texture. My friend said she she got a latte as well and it was horrible, I don’t drink coffee so I wouldn’t know personally. But yeah, I’m strongly giving this one star.

This place is so delicious. I can’t help myself but come in for one of there handcrafted machiattos(starbucks, Dunkin and all the others can’t light a candle) every weekend. Now while I would come just for the espresso beverages they are a bakery. And again they are top notch. My favorites are the apple gallette, chocolate crossiant and the Dunkin(a donut muffin hybrid) This fall they added, very sneakily I might add, a pumpkin spice latte to their menu. Now I am NOT a sweet coffee person, but I had to try their pumpkin spice latte when they said it is actually made with pumpkin! Again Starbucks latte doesn’t actually have a drop of pumpkin in it. It was perfect super pumpkiny, just a little spicey not too sweet and as smooth as the machiatto I always get. Well done B’s Sweet Bites. I can not recommend you more. Finely good coffee in Des Plaines and at a family owned business that also makes top notch bakery treats.

I ordered tea and a blueberry muffin. The muffin was alright. The tea was brought to the table in a white ceramic teapot that was impossible to pour from without the tea spilling. Each time I tried pouring the tea into the cup the tea would trickle down the neck of the teapot’s spout and onto the table making a splashy mess. Also, I think this shop’s roadside message board along Oakton St. looks kind of tacky.

WORSTEXPERIENCEEVER!!! I ordered a cake on7/5 for my best friend’s sprinkle shower on 7⁄11. Spent time with the owner designing and planning it. To only then get a call on 7⁄9 from a clueless employee not even the owner herself saying ‘we can’t make your cake for Saturday… we are too busy with the Taste of Park Ridge that day!’ What a freakin joke and horrible way to treat your customer! I will NEVER go back or recommend this place to anyone and will do just the opposite to anyone that listens! I would give negative stars if I could but I was forced to pick one so I can leave this review!

Horrible customer service! It was my second time going there and I decided to dine in. As the Woman was bringing me my sweets, she dumped coffee all over my new macbook, all over me, all over my homework and textbooks that were on the table. She was a total B****. Instead of apologizing, she said«next time you dine in, I promise I won’t spill on you». And walked away to «grab me tissue». It was negative 10 degrees outside, and I went to the bathroom to clean off my expensive silk blouse. When I came back, she didn’t even have the audacity to clean my table! I walked over to the register where she was, and she asked«can I help you» in a rude as hell ignorant tone. I asked for more tissue so I can clean her. The manager never offered to pay for the dry cleaning for my blouse, nor my laptop(thank God nothing had been damaged) even tho coffee had been spilled on that too. Her last words upset me so bad, I walked out. She said«oh… Do you still want a coffee». HORRIBLESERVICE!

oh yeah, this ITE was I should take pictures like everyone else and post em, but I didn’t, so just take my word that the cupcakes were great. Didn’t try any coffee but the sweets are legit. Oh the carrot cake bar thing was awesome for sure. last time I went I got some thing called tutle pudding cake, and that was the best thing. On my way to work, kind of, so I’ll be back. A+

Nice little neighborhood spot. I’ve only picked up from here, but all 3 times our guests loved the desserts. I will continue to go here as its definitely a step above buying from a grocery store. Always homemade and fresh.

I stopped in on a Saturday morning to buy something for work and and came out with a huge apple pie. The pie is better than the ones made at home. I will definitely be coming back.

We were driving down Oakton craving something sweet and just happened to see a sign on the side of the road for this place! We made a U-turn to get some sweets. It’s a cute little bakery/coffee shop that is kind of hidden on Oakton Place, tucked away on the side street near Dollar Tree on Oakton Ave. It was definitely worth stopping in — Everything looked delicious, so we split the pumpkin cheesecake, almond joy flourless chocolate cake, and a pumpkin spice«duffin». They all tasted great, homemade, and fresh. My favorite was the duffin — a donut/muffin hybrid. I will go back soon for more of these tasty treats. This place is worth checking out to satisfy your sweet tooth! Prices are reasonable and there are some gluten-free options.

This place was completely dead at 10 a.m. on a Sunday — not a single soul aside from myself in the place. And it’s a decently sized shopped with a ton of booths to dine at and also a bar style counter for coffee & baked goods. I walked in past random little baggies of various baked goodies on the tables. I came up to the display cases filled with some items, not quite as many as I had hoped for. None of the items in the pastry case were labeled with prices so I just randomly picked a couple things and hoped for the best. Their donuts looked like they were chocolate and plain based on their colors however the guy told me they were the same flavor — plain — and just come out looking different colors. Weird! I replied to him. They had no chocolate donuts so I went with the plain. The donut itself give the illusion of being a Krispy Kreme style donut, covered in glazed goo. It was insanely soft and perfectly baked but the flavor just was not there — very bland. Much like the doughnut, their hot chocolate just had no flavor. I also ordered a St Patrick’s Day cupcake and the guy warned me not to give it to kids because it had Baileys in it. Score for me! Even though most of the liquor bakes out of the cupcake there has been to be some remnants of it for a sweet morning buzz! I’m extremely regretful that the cupcake was very… strange. The frosting was not creamy & buttery nor sweet, thick & sugary — it was gel like and had the consistency and flavor of butter. Maybe they used way too much butter in it but it kind of grossed me out. Very odd consistency for frosting but even more disappointing was the complete lack of flavor. The cupcake itself was very dry but it had a bit more flavor than the frosting… it wasn’t amazing though. I hate to be super harsh but I think it might be the worst cupcake I’ve ever had. :( My total for all the items was a bit over $ 6 so not too bad price wise. Pretty much everything I tried was bland though so although I’d like to try more items, I’m definitely not rushing back. When I was leaving, a crabby older lady walked in. She was the cute kind of crabby commenting harshly but bluntly honest on nearly everything displayed. They had some cheesecake sitting out for samples and she gave me my favorite little gem -«These are hard as a rock, fella.» I couldn’t stop laughing and the poor kid working just didn’t respond.

Cute little coffee shop/bakery, but hard to find unless you know about it. Stopped in to check it out. Not a huge assortment to choose from but it looked good. Sampled the brownie and it was awesome. That was the end of awesome. Tried the toffee bread pudding, got home and realized with the first bite, the top was burnt. After I picked off all the burnt top, the bottom was good. Who serves burnt anything in a bakery? Lots of doughnuts left and looked decent. They were I not edible. Never had such a dry doughnut. My entire family felt the same way. What a waste of money. I was so disappointed. Not sure if they were having a bad day. 2 out 3 isn’t too good for a bakery. Hot chocolate was decent, but not a strong chocolate flavor.

First time checking in to B’s Sweet Bites. Just a heads up, we thought they open at 6a per Unilocal but they actually open at 7. Lots of goodies at this joint, my kind of place. We tried the macchiato, pistachio roll, chocolate galette, and bread pudding. The pistachio roll was my favorite. The chocolate galette had a LOT of chocolate, they didn’t skimp out; didn’t like it that much however, it was slightly bitter. The bread pudding, I’m kinda iffy. I’m used to my mom’s soggy bread pudding(haha!) and theirs wasn’t. The coffee I didn’t care for. I might have to go back and try the other drinks. Overall definitely worth a try. I’ll be coming back!

Updated: this has become my go to place for chocolate chip cookies. They sell bags of them near the cashier. They are amazing. Soft and just the right mix of cookie and chip. I visit on a pretty regular basis. I wish it was on the way to work(it’s in the opposite direction) but maybe that’s good for my waistline! When time permits, I’ll take friends and we’ll do tea/coffee. It’s a very nice service they provide. Enjoyable place to relax and chat. The mayor has been known to hang out here! = = = Been here twice since opening and the quality is excellent. If you like chocolate chip cookies you’ll be thrilled. Have tried a few other pastries and all have been good and fresh. Looking forward to hanging out some time and having teas. Hours will be a challenge for my schedule but I get late hours are probably not fiscally responsible. Enjoy!
