Coyote Ugly

Honestly, my expectations of this place going in, were painfully way too high. First of all, $ 10.00 cover charges for guests that are from out of state? On a Wednesday night no less? Absolutely ignorant. And if we weren’t so dang excited, we probably should have left right then and there. $ 16.00 for 2 watered down VERY SMALL drinks. $ 4.50 for a VERY SMALL Sprite. Are you kidding me? And this was supposed to be «$ 2 Ladies Night drink specials». Not sure where things went terribly wrong there. We were never even offered any $ 2 drink specials. The front country bar was dead in the water. The back patio area was where the crowd was. And honestly, I felt like a weirdo because most of the crowd was underage back in the patio area.
The ONLY reason I gave it 2 stars, was simply because the local yocals there, did not disappoint in the people watching arena. Train wrecks to say the very least, which did provide me with that twisted entertainment I longed for. Aside from that, I’m still puzzled at the cover charge. Generally there’s a reason for such. Here, not so much. But here’s a tip– if you’re planted in the heart of a tourist area (which you are), then perhaps instead of hustling those from out of town at every turn (cover, overpriced drinks), you should waive that fee (unless you actually have something there as entertainment to warrant such a cover charge). I would have probably had more than one drink if I hadn’t of laid down $ 40.00 just to get past the chick in the front standing at the podium.

Don’t ID anyone, DJ plays from an iPod, bartenders don’t know how to make drinks correctly, Bar top is so warped, half of your drink gets spilled when it’s served to you.

A country style bar where the bartenders dress down, sling buds and dance on the bar top, isn’t generally my brew. But I went one weekend, then returned the next, and again the following weekend, and then 4 and 5 weeks in a row now. Always the same party! Simple, upbeat and laid back with beautiful bartenders and plenty of cheap of beer. Coyote Ugly has, to my surprise, become my spot here in Okaloosa County.

Ok, now that I’ve channeled my inner early twenties, let’s get to the review.
We came here on a Thursday evening, I’m hoping this was an off night, however I have a gut feeling this is what this place is like on the regular. Place was semi-​busy, ratio was about 15 guys to 1 girl. Considering I had the only attractive woman in the bar hanging on my arm, I wasn’t looking forward to what was about to unfold. However, it was so damn lame, we were only there for 10 minutes and bounced.
During that 10 minutes, a few, uh, well, «larger» ladies decided to hop up on the bar and «back that ass up» as Juvenile would say. Not many of the bromigo’s were too into the current performance, so minimal attention was given. However, the 65 year old bro with leather skin and who was decked out in so many gold chains that Mr. T would’ve been jealous, thought my wife would’ve been a better participant. He suggested she get up on the bar and dance. When she replied, «No way! Besides, I’m in a dress!» He said, «Who cares!!!» When he noticed me towering over him once I heard the comment, his tune changed. quickly. Dirty old perv…

Interesting spot made famous by movie. Only 3 stars because watching drunk female patrons jump onto bar and dance isn’t my thing. I’m sure some like it. Very loud. Had fight breakout while we were there. And unlike AJ’s next door no cops hanging out.

This place is ok. I wouldn’t ever pay to get in again, but since I had never been, I did this time. They knocked over my $ 7 vodka and cranberry drink and didn’t replace it. Apparently it’s their rule that whatever is on the bar is always at risk. Had I known this, I clearly wouldn’t have put my drink on the bar. Anyway, it was pretty dead when I was there on a Saturday night.

This isn’t exactly my type of bar. But options were limited for a Sunday night during Memorial Day weekend until we realized Coyote Ugly was open, contrary to Unilocal’s supposed hours.
We drove past it, keeping our fingers crossed that it would be open, and it was. There was a $ 5 cover charge and we got stamped by an obnoxiously large stamp, which basically washes off with water.
The bar at the entrance is basically taken over by the go go girl strutting back and forth on the bar in her skimpy denim shorts, yelling into her mic while all the men in the bar stood in awe, drooling. The rest of us headed out back, where there was a mechanical bull ($ 5 a go!) and a open dance floor in front of the DJ on stage. It seemed like everyone dancing was having a good time.
Overall, I’d say stick to the outdoor area for a good time, unless you want to stay inside and gawk at the girls standing on the bar the entire time.

It has been dead every time I have been here so far (weeknights). I’ll have to try it on the weekend once and report back. They have a mechanical bull outside so I bet that would make for great people watching entertainment.

Very disappointed. Not quite sure how to explain. Other coyote ugly have a lot more class than this one. The girls are not impressive nor were their dances. Trashy is the only way I can describe the place EW.

So you go into Coyote Ugly because you think you should check it out once and because the people you are with want to see what it’s like. You’ve seen the movie right? Hot girls dance on the bar. Well this bar is smack in tourist heaven and is kind of a dive, but it has bath room attendants… weird. Luckily we didn’t have to pay a cover because the people we were with were at the bar earlier (before dinner and no bartenders dancing on the bar) and had some sort of ticket to get us back in (because they had told the bartender they wanted to get the real Coyote Experience). Without this ticket we would have had to pay a cover to watch some scantily dressed girls shake it on the bar. Not worth it.
You go in. Immediately you notice the, whatever the heck it is, hanging from the ceiling covered in bras. Classy. But again, it’s Coyote Ugly. I get it.
Drinks are overpriced. Way overpriced. Even just a freaking soda. We didn’t bother even trying the food.
There are a lot of people there. And why not right? Half naked girls with their boobs and asses all but hanging out. The bartenders are constantly asking (begging) the female patrons to come on the bar to dance with them. Bribing with free shots. Don’t get caught even swaying to the music (country, rock and some hip-​hop) or they will single you out.
I felt really bad for one of the bartenders as a male patron paid to do a body shot. I think I would have to take a bleach bath after work. And get some vaccinations. Ewa!
Overall. Not worth the hype. I mean, go once because it’s an experience. Where else will you go to a bar and be told «keep your f***ing s**t off the bar or they will knock your f***ing s**t over» and have girls do choreographed dances with their vaginas at your eye level when you try to order a drink.
Once and done. Thank you. Never again.

Overpriced. Drinks just ridiculous. Tried to charge just to get in to watch several drunk girls dance, There are a lot of good bars in this area. Suggest you try somewhere else besides this tourist trap.

Very very disappointed. Cheated out of money! Order a round of shots n were served water shots!!! Unethical to think because ppl have been drinking to steal there money n make profit by serving water shots!

I totally thought this place would be cool but it sucked. You pay a cover to watch drunk girls stumble across the bar and kick your drink over. A small Dixie cup of Jim beam and coke was 7 bucks, crazy. If you want to see dancing girls go to a strip club, they’re better dancers and its probably cheaper.

Checked this place out for a mommie’s night out, for me it was pretty descent. Just like out of the movie, young pretty girls dancing on the bar while alcohol is being served. I did notice the crowd was a bit older, but its a mix of young 21−50+. Dance on the bar get a free shot, the ladies are beautiful and it almost felt like a free strip club with how some other the other patrons were shaking it on the bar and the music was ok. I got to twerk a bit a remind myself why I must stretch before a work out, the outside bar had a stage set up for a live reggae band and I’m definitely coming back to check that out again, and next to that area is a bull riding spot for brave inebriated customers to be thrown to an inflatable area. Cool spot.

This coyote ugly was amazing Experience I was there may 2013 it’s Unbelievable girls dance all night very nice Ambient is like u can have fun inside and outside plus u can play pool table if u like on the back or go ride on the rodeo cow.

For weeks people have mentioned how much fun they had here after their grand opening. Unable to resist, I pulled together a cowgirl outfit that turned out to be more Indian than cowgirl and stomped it out on the bar. It was a lot of fun and the girls were HOT, most of them anyway. And they were sassy. Definitely some hot girls with nice bodies and sexy moves working in that bar. There was this one girl who had dark hair and a raspy voice who could dance her ass off to anything. Impressive.
Ladies if you dance on the bar, free shot. It’s a strange fruity sort of shot.
Two mechanical bulls outside and another bar. And more bar upstairs. It got really hot downstairs so I hung out under an AC vent upstairs. Songs were all very dance-​able. The only thing missing, and it is significant, were tolerable guys. Most of the guys there were just creepily staring at the dancing bar girls or annoyed at having to pay and get their drinks through the dancing bar girls. Hardly any of them was half decent looking. Guess someone has to put the «ugly» in Coyote Ugly.

Went to the opening night at Coyote Ugly with some friends (all locals). Had a blast.
