The Wine Bar – Destin

Great daytime wine special. Excellent cheese menu! Great staff.

I am out here from Washington State visiting my parents and wanted to enjoy some adult beverages and came upon this place.
The experience starts with Brandon and ends with Brandon. We were informed about happy hour. Score for us. We also decided on a cheese flight (love the idea), there is even a cheese book. The inside lounge was very comfy not noisy. Brandon took it upon himself to assume that since we were from Washington state we would appreciate a wine festival and a wine tasting event, smart move. We got hooked. When I go out to dinner or just to enjoy a nice drink, I do notice cleanness and the interactions of other staff with guest. I also measure the quality of my wait staff, by asking myself if I would hire him. I would recruit Brandon in a heart beat, he is the one that made this experience the best! Make sure to ask for Brandon.

They cancelled the Wednesday beer tasting and burgers and now send you out back to the Craft Bar for their insanely overpriced, mediocre food and $ 7 draws. I guess if a cheese platter and a glass of wine is your thing then this might still be your place. Personally I’m forever saddened I must find a new joint to be pationate about. I had a whole routine of buying a cigar next door, buying booze at Wine World and dreaming of the next Wednesday. It’s a sad day folks.

The wine was good and selection was great. Service was not a priority. Beer was flat and didn’t taste like the one I ordered. I had the shrimp and scallop pappardelle. It tasted like chicken noodle soup. Very salty and not much flavor. It was also $ 28. Some of the other dishes looked decent. But after waiting almost an hour for food, lots of things start to look decent.

Second time here, it was great the first time around (about August), but today, Halloween, the Baked Brie was not as good as our first visit. The French bread was over done. Still, the wine list at happy hour is always worth the visit.

The cowboy ribeye steak was nothing short of amazing, Ruth Chris has nothing on Chef Trey steak. Not only was the meal amazing so was the service. We had Chelsey as our server and she was very personable and very friendly. Chef stopped by our table personally and spent time talking with us about our experience and the daily specials. Just ordered lunch for myself and co-​workers. We ordered The Salmon Deviled Eggs. AMAZING!!! Wine Bar Chicken Salad. AMAZING! French Dip. AMAZING! Seared Ahi Tuna Salad. AMAZING! So needless to say, we all enjoyed our meal!

Very friendly waitresses. Please make sure you try the Lamb Lollipops! The chef is amazing and all the food was mouth watering good. The Peppered Salami was my favorite with the Havarti cheese OMG! A little bite of heaven on a plate.

The only thing that would make this place over the top is if it were on the beach. The happy hour is exceptional and the staff is friendly and great. The shop is super cute and a place I’d frequent if I were a local.

Excellent selection of craft beer! Quite possible the largest selection in the area. I’m always up for trying something new, but without a little help from the friendly and knowledgeable staff, you could be there hours looking at everything they have to offer. Johnathon helped me out. I already had a few beers in my basket and asked for some suggestions. After asking me several questions about my preferences, he led me to some excellent brews. I found some of their pricing to be slightly higher than some other smaller places, but the large selection and knowledge staff make up for it. I highly recommend you ask the staff for help, if you are looking to try something new. I guarantee they will have something you haven’t tried before. I highly recommend anyone living in or traveling to Destin to check this place out!
I didn’t even get a chance to look through the wine selection, which seemed to be as vast as the beer.
There is also a restaurant/​bar attached that serves many of the micro brews. Monday is half off burgers.

Can’t go wrong with ordering an old fashion to go with the rib eye. Both were delicious and I’ll be coming back to try both.

This place was awesome! Good prices and smelled fabulous from the cooking next door. Unfortunately i bought a 6pk of Boulevard that said, Best Before 1÷30÷2015 and it was 06/​13/​2015. That was the only upsetting thing. Im usually perdy good about checking the dates. I got that and a Yeti Rambler. Good stuff. I’ll be back when i goto Destin again.

This is one of my new favorite, must-​go places when I’m in the area. The patio is comfortable, as is the indoor seating and happy hour cannot be beat: 11 – 6 everyday and select wines (half the menu) is half off, with the 12 oz. Carafe the price of a glass, a great way to try new things!

Prawns overlooked/​tough & overcooked risotto. Wine was good. Salad & service were both good. I’ll go back to try again & hope meal is better.

Always a hit. Great service. Not rushed. Great quality and the selection of cheeses is amazing. I’ve yet to be sorry I chose Chans. Make a res on the weekends and on a Monday it’s almost like private dining. Check it out!

You gotta try their food. Also, every night they have different events. One night is pasta night. Another is gourmet burgers. Another is specialty chef items off the menu. Very cool place. Will plan on coming back again if at all possible.

Chan’s Wine World is the place that got me turned on to seasonal and craft brews. Their selection is always the best in the area (and I mean large area) and prices are competitive. Service is friendly and attentive and remembers me despite the fact that I am only down there at certain times of the year.
All around A+.

My favorite spot in Destin. Great selection of wines and cheeses. The bistro offers everything from lamb to Brie to a wedge salad.
Service is beach casual– meaning they take their time but are happy if you do, too. Many people stay for hours just for the atmosphere.

2013 Motherfuckers! What? FUCK YEAH. Let’s do this right with a wine tasting.
No it’s not the vineyards of Los Olivos you wine snob fucks. But they’ve got 10 pours of Maipe, a brand of Argentinian wine, lots of Malbecs. Okay so the glasses are small and lame and the atmosphere is not that great, as in, you are in a liquor store. But it’s $ 10, and 10 pours, and some good Malbecs. I was feeling loosey goosey without any extra pours and the pourer is a cute young thang that maybe could get it. You also get $ 5 off any wine on the list.
Dinner: The special NY strip steak was just not that great. Am I really so spoiled by LA? But it’s also not as expensive either so maybe mediocrity can be justified. Except it isn’t. Stay home and cook your own steak from now on! I tried to order the pot roast and they ran out. Thanks for trying I guess. But considering most places in Destin just sucks, this is not so bad.

The more I come here, the more I am convinced that Chan’s is one of the better places to dine in the Destin area. Their specials are always delicious and perfectly cooked, their cru board selections will amaze you and the atmosphere and value are exceptional. It’s a place where you find yourself making mental notes to come back over and over to try something there that you haven’t had yet. Chan’s is very smart about getting people in the door with regular events like beer tastings, wine tastings, bourbon or champagne tastings, as well as larger events like their yearly Destin Beer Festival and Thanksgiving and Christmas parties. They host weekly beer tastings on Wednesday nights and offer a delicious gourmet burger created especially for that week’s beer list. You need to eat these burgers!
In addition to their fantastic restaurant, Chan’s has a very impressive store featuring gifts, gourmet cheese, fine wine, liquor and and amazing assortment of craft beer. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and always very helpful.
This is a smart place.
