Came to this bar after I seen it on Groupon, otherwise I would never have even known it was there, I came on a Thursday so it was a light crowd, I was told Tuesday and Fridays are their busy nights. I sat at the bar which was cool with a low lighting and decent set up. I didn’t like they only had one tv and it was a good distant away. For it to be a bar felt it should have been better position. I ordered a Cesar salads and the salmon. Both dishes were… okay. Not amazing but not bad. It’s right off the water so I’m surprised it doesn’t have much more of a crowd. It was chilly out when I came so I didn’t get to enjoy any rooftop or even eating outside which is a option. I would return again. I recommend only order bar food, the fish might have been a stretch in which this place probably is just a burger and fish place. Waitress was cool, music was enjoyable

This business plays music way too loud. It can be heard more than a block away. With such a lack of consideration to the surrounding community, I cannot suggest anyone go to River Place Bar and Grill. If it was possible to give 0 stars, I would. I have repeated brought this to the attention of the manager who gave the appearance of caring but did nothing to resolve the situation.

The music is way too loud and drives business away by the handful. I ordered a beer with a friend and we couldn’t hear each other talk so we left promptly. I don’t know how management hasn’t fixed this problem yet… Other than that, the drinks we cold but expensive for the area.

I have been here a couple of times throughout the years. Nothing has stood out: not the drinks, the bartender, or the bar. It’s a dead spot during the day and has limited seating. There was no food offering and a small tv. I stopped there at 7pm on a Friday and it was a ghost town. There is a outdoor patio area on the 2nd floor that I have yet to go too. The music showed nice, but I was in for a quick visit. Nothing memorable and I was sober. I hate bars where the bartender has no suggestion of drinks to try. I am sure that mixing drinks was a requirement in bartending school. I would only make a last visit to see how it is on the patio during the evening. Note: $ 10 minimum for credit card use.

I’m giving this 1 star, because Unilocal won’t let me give them 0 stars. Popped in here once. The staff were OK and the food was OK, but their music is too d___loud! So loud, you can hear it a block away, even with your windows closed and earplugs in. Oh, and the music is crap. Seriously, this place just stinks.

As we walked past on a Saturday evening, the place looked closed. Like, eternally closed. However, we walked past again the next night after enjoying a show at the Magic Stick, and the music was pumping and there was literally a red carpet extending from the front door. We popped in for a shot of Patron before heading back to the Roberts Riverwalk hotel. No complaints.

First off, i had never seen or heard of this place before… but seeing as they had an open rooftop and they were serving food late in the evening(we had originally gone to Andrew’s on the Corner, but their kitchen had already closed) we decided to check out River Place, which was one block over. Walking in, the restaurant/bar had a modern rustic look… old dark wood paneling, 20ft ceiling, dimly lit area, and tall wide windows that really gave this place a warm open feel. Since the weather was a rare comfortable temp, we decided to leave the main floor and head upstairs to dine in the open rooftop patio. Being a Friday night, they had a DJ who was spinning some r&b, old school, and new school hip-hop, a couple people on the dance floor, an open tiki looking bar, lights strung up around the perimeter of the patio, and an overall chill summery feel to the space. The initial service was very slow(that’s why i’m deducting a star)…it took about 20 minutes before our waitress even showed up. I would have got up and walked out, but being that the rooftop was party central, i could understand why the wait staff didn’t frequent this area. So after that initial bump in the road, the service was prompt and attentive. Their menu was American & Soul food, think burgers, greens, mac & cheese, grilled chicken sandwiches, etc… Being late in the evening, we weren’t there for a meal, just some apps. So we ended up ordering onion rings and sweet potato fries. Once the food arrived, i was pleasantly surprised… i was expecting the run of the mill appetizers with a thick overly greasy batter on the onion rings and a basket of sweet potato fries. Instead, we got light crisp just enough oil friedness of the ever so sweet Vidalia onions and some tasty cinnamon sugar covered sweet potato fries. Both dishes were beautifully presented on flat rectangular porcelain plates garnished with beat leaves, frisée, and an edible flower. A real pleasant surprise! By the time we left, the place was getting packed. The dance floor was filling up, the staircase to the rooftop had a caravan of people marching up, and every table on the first floor was packed. I would recommend going here on a weekend evening, enjoy the summer on the rooftop patio, taking in the breeze, music, food and drinks!
