Good pizza(with big slices), and very cheap. Two slices and a can of soda is six bucks. You can order with the cashier and eat at the bar in the same building. Very cool. I didn’t try anything else on the menu, but it looked fairly big for a pizza place.

I must be in the minority here. I did not like this pizza at all. I’m being generous with two stars. We had large cheese and pepperoni pizzas delivered to our workplace. Just the basic round pizzas. And. Ugh. They were greasy, and the outer crust was so dry, I didn’t even eat it. Usually the crust is my favorite part — and I threw it out. I’m just glad that our management bought the pizza, and I didn’t waste my money on this!

I ordered a large pepperoni pizza with olives and mushrooms for carry out a couple nights ago. Reason being that they are open til 2am and i got off work so late that night. When i got there i wish i had time to chill because this place also has a bar and a bowling ally!!! The pizza was perfect and i cant wait to go back when i have time to try one of the specialty pizzas and knock back a few beers and bowling pins.

Super irritating that one must navigate through the Majestic Café’s telephone directory in order to order a Pizza. But it is good pizza.

The Vegan pizza wasn’t good at all. The guy who took my order asked me if the daiya cheese was for the vegan pizza, so they probably aren’t use to making it. My non vegan friends loved the regular pizza though. If you’re looking for vegan go elsewhere.

This pizza was amazing for me. The crust is thin and crispy and the ingredients are stacked up tons and tons. we came on a monday night so they had a bowling, a pizza slice, and drink special for 7 bucks and and they serve huge pizza slices. the specialty pizza they have is constantly changing up so you can wait to pick what pizza you’d want from the specialty and the sizes of the slices are almost as big as a small over there. If you go bowling, it’s definitely worth it to try the pizza here.

This review is based only on Sgt. Pepperoni’s, not the Magic Stick or Garden Bowl. Don’t expect wait service and drink refills here. You order at the counter and go up to get your pizza yourself. The first thing I noticed was the huge menu of specialty pizzas, there’s something for everyone. The thin crust pizzas are great, the dough is almost like Indian naan. There’s plenty of off beat pizzas that will satisfy any hipster’s palate. The more traditional style pizzas are also exceptional. Sgt. Pepperoni’s really captures what good Detroit pizza is. The dining area atmosphere is okay, there’s a bar and most nights you’ll hear music from upstairs or even on that floor. Overall, Sgt. Pepperoni’s is worth a visit. If you’re in Detroit and you’re looking for pizza that rivals Brooklyn and Chicago, definitely stop by!

Good for late night pizza. I would recommend the Sgt. Pepperoni pizza. Tasty but makes you feel like crap because of the high salt content. Increases hangover the next day.

When hanging out at the bar, walking past, or need a quick slice I recommend coming here. They sell by the slice and are a fare price. They are open till two most nights so that is a HUGE bonus when you are having late cravings. The slices some times are hit or miss… but most of the time hit. Love this place

Had an hour or so to kill before the Calabrese show tonight, and hadn’t had dinner, so since they were in the building we thought what the hell, lets give it a try. We ordered a medium margarita pizza and a couple bottles of Faygo. The pizza was very flavourful, but a bit greasy, but that is ok… the olive oil and the fresh mozz does that. the pizza came out quick, and we stuffed our faces before a great show. Thanks for a great date night

At the foot of Detroit’s long standing home for punk and alt rock is a kitchen called Sgt. Pepperoni’s. It’s the food counter for the Garden Bowl(which btw has 100% renovated with all new lanes and lights.) With this scene comes people with tattoos, piercings and combinations thereof. But fret not, they’re all really nice people. Go for the food and not judgement. I wanted a sandwich and my wife and kids wanted pizza. It was later than usual and Supino was getting ready to close and nobody wanted to go to Buddy’s. We remembered SP’s. I thought the pizza was pretty good. We ordered a thin crust Margherita Pizza and a Ruben Sandwich. The corned beef is from Wigley’s Market on Russell St. in the Eastern Market district. Next to Sy Ginsberg corned beef, Wigley’s does it just right for deli style corned beef brisket. The sandwich was good size but not huge yet a value at $ 8.95. It came with a bag of BBQ Better Mades and a pickle. The wife was not overly impressed with the pizza and thought it was just ok. Unfortunately for most places, they will always take a back seat to Supino and we are loyalists. The only disappointment was the prices on cans of soda pop. Also, there were no drink specials at the bar either. One draft pull of Stella was $ 5.00 and Bud Light was $ 4.00. We can do better than this. The downstairs bar, for years, always had dollar beers or a cheap handle. I blame the hipsters. Punk music rules here and for a moment I felt like the younger man I used to be. I’ll be back for another visit to try some other sandwiches. Watch out for Detroit’s aggressive meter maids if you park on Woodward. Big parking lot in the back.

Sigh! I’ve been dying to try Sgt. Pepperoni’s veggie rueben for months now, but sadly it did not live up to what I had hoped. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good. The tofu was bland… Very bland leaving it up to the sauerkraut and mustard to do all of the work. I opted for real swiss cheese instead of vegan cheese, which I think made a big difference(not a fan of vegan cheese). The actual set up of the sandwich was nice and I think helped mock the taste somewhat, but then again not really.

Pretty cool place, although sometimes some of the patrons you just don’t know about! Like they may look homeless or they may look like yuppies — very controversial place. The pizza is a-ok, the people working here are really nice and helpful. Behind the counter is a bowling alley, so if you want to go bowling after you eat you certainly can! Sort of a cool place, will probably go back again when I want a change from the hum drum ordinary!

I never think of stopping into Sgt. Pepperoni’s unless I happen to be at the Magic Stick or at Garden Bowl… and I don’t know why, Sgt. Pepperoni’s seems to be doing everything right! Maybe it is because Sgt. Pepperoni’s isn’t their main business… I mean, they have a bowling alley, a venue, and a real restaurant to focus on! The pizza here hits the late-night spot. The cheese bread is awesome. I wish that I could review more items on the menu… but I can’t, because this just isn’t one of those spots that I think of when I am jonsing for food downtown.

Short and sweet review. This place has awesome vegan pizza and its at a reasonable price. A medium can be shared between my boyfriend and I and we will both be fairly full. Always good to grab before or after a show. Make sure you keep an eye out for your food because most of the time they won’t tell you it’s done and you’ll be sitting there for a while, even when no one else is there but you.

Ordered a personal cheese pizza($ 3.95) with pepperoni(pricey, $ 1.75 per topping). BF ordered the meat-laden small Majestic($ 6.50). Small and personal were pretty much the same size. Enough for a 1 hungry person to eat or can be split between 2 people if they are not so hungry. Pizzas were made to order. We were the only ones there and it took about 15 minutes. BF liked his pizza a whole lot more than I did mine. Mine was really nothing to write home about outside of it being a gut-filler. Pizza probably tastes amazing when you’re drunk. Cans of soda were annoying. Would have preferred a bigger bottle or larger size fountain-dispensed soda. They must’ve got the memo from Bloomberg or something. I also didn’t realize Mountain Dew doesn’t taste so good in a can for some reason. I agree with Debbie Z. The place could definitely be more maintained. It was pretty slow while we were there on a late Thursday afternoon and the tables clearly weren’t wiped down since lunch rush time(if they even had one). We were the only ones at a table amongst many and ours was cruddy on top. There were definitely enough employees and minimal customers in the place to be able to spare a hired hand to wipe things down. Either management sucks, the workers are lazy, or I suspect, both. The slices for sale($ 2 or so) were in a glass heat lamp case and there were cookies for sale in the counter as well. There is an outdoor sidewalk seating area and inside tables by the windows that are good for homeless, thug or hipster watching. Lots of punk music played in the eating area among a mix of other stuff, but it wasn’t loud. Not for me anyway. There were a couple of TVs too. The staff was a mix between aloof and forced friendly. Just too cool for school or customer service rehab, I guess. Total damage was just under $ 14 with a buck going into the counter tip jar. No charge for parking before 5pm that day. Otherwise you pay the attendant $ 4 per the sign. Saw $ 3 parking right next to the bank across the street from my perch. I really don’t understand the reviews that rave about this pizza. Or at least the pepperoni with cheese kind. Whatever.

Ahhhh Sgt. Pepperoni. I’d salute you even if you weren’t a military man. For you and you alone have saved me from many a night starving post a show at the Stick or Majestic. I’ll give you a purple heart… INSATISFACTION. Huge slices, nice and greasy, loads of cheese. It’s truly one of my favorite pies in the area which is funny because I’m not really sure I’d ever get a whole one to go. It would almost taint the beauty of the late night nom. The prices are right and the cans of soda are a nice way to wash it down if you’re trying to soak up the booze in your already sauced system(Coke AND Pepsi products too. Way to make everyone happy, Sarge). I’ve never tried any of the other eats but the rest of the menu looks pretty solid in terms of fast, late night food. My only complaint? On a busy night you sometimes have to wait for a new pizza to pop out of the oven before you can inhale your own piece. It’s hard to wait when you know what tastiness will soon be brought to you.

My family wanted pizza for dinner so I went to Sgt. Pepperoni’s. I had attempted to go Monday night, but there must have been a concert or function because there was nowhere to park & I wasn’t about to park 3 blocks down or pay to park in the lot for a pizza. Fast forward to a Thursday evening and pizza on the brain. I ordered the Majestic, The Roadie with cheese(that’s for lunch so I haven’t tried it, but it looks amazingly good!), cheese bread, & nachos with cheese(my kids fav. food) The Majestic was covered in toppings(see the pics) & the dough was rolled out with care(I watch the cook make it & he was very pleasant. The cheese tasted like real mozzarella and even had the hang time(you know when you bite a pizza and pull the slice back & the cheese is stretched out. Okay maybe you don’t). Overall the Majestic was okay. It may have been the sauce that made me not jump for joy when I ate it. But it wasn’t bad. If you are in the Garden Bowl bowling and drinking from the full bar then the pizza is gonna be great. Sgt. P gets a plus in my book because they carry slices of 3 different pizzas, in the event you don’t want to buy one. My kid likes the personal cheese pizza, but I don’t know a little kid that would complain about the taste of pizza. The cheese bread with marinara sauce is a winner. Golden brown crust and gooey cheese. Can’t go wrong with that combination. The fries were shoe string and I could tell they seasoned them with salt & pepper. Can’t complain since they were only $ 2. And the nachos with cheese were your basic nacho chips with melted cheese. Overall if I was downtown late night and needed a pizza or sandwich fix, I would stop by Sgt. Pepperoni’s since they are open pretty late every night. I would do cheese bread or a calzone preferably.
