Horrible service. Waitstaff is more interested in pushing drinks than taking orders. Waited 45 minutes as waitress socialized with the locals. I finally had to go up to the bar to ask that our order be taken. On a side note: Burgers are good, but thats it and if you order a burger, they charge 25 cents for mayo. I know this is petty, but, really? Ketchup and Mustard are no charge. If you ask about the up-charge, the waitress argued with me. Yet it is not mentioned on their menu.

Burgers are fantastic and most things on the menu are pretty good. Most of the bar is pretty run down — typical dive bar stuff(every town needs at least one — right?). Staff has a good attitude and service is good — Emily and Charlie being stand outs. Beer is cold and cheap. Patrons range from solid blue collar folks to professionals.

Tasty cold beer, new menu that encompasses your bar food needs and unique character. Stop and check it out! The wings tossed in hot sauce and blue cheese crumbles are amazing. Don’t be intimidated, great people and conversations await.

Came here with friends for a drink after Dexter Daze… I some how ended up bring the designated driver for that portion of the night so I just had a diet pepsi, but they are pretty full bar and have a wide vareity of beers and cocktails. It’s not huge, but they have a lot of events including bands and karaōke nights. Looks like they have a limited food menu. It’s worth a trip if you are in Dexter.

I can remember when Katie’s was the«Dexter Bowl» back in the day. The bowling equipment was always in need of repair, and the smoke was so thick it felt like being Los Angeles during a smog alert. After bowling a few games, you had to wash your clothes when you went home more than once, to remove the putrid stench of cigar and cigarette smoke. Thankfully, this is all in the past. Katie’s offers some really great burgers, and some of the best pizza in the Dexter area today. I’ve had their Turkey Club and Reuben sandwiches that are fantastic! With that said, next time I visit this place, I plan on trying their Chicken Alfredo.

There are a lot of good things to say about Katie’s. You just have to be of the rright mindset to spot them. First, it’s a friendly place. Full bar at basement prices. $ 1.50 beer specials. The best food here is fried, fried and fried. Yes, they do have salads, sandwiches and even special steak nights, but the wings are tops as well as several of their other fried options. Burgers are good too. Besides…they taste so good with the cold beer. Speaking of cold beer… it’s mighty good with the endless bowls of salty, buttery popcorn(I like to douse it with Tabasco). A couple small pool tables for some billiards come in handy as you eye the sports on the TVs & enjoy your brew.

Nothing to look at on the outside, typical Budweiser-girl-poster, pool-table-hall and jukebox on the inside, and yet somehow this place has a GREAT selection of brews on tap, plus KILLER pizza and BURGERS — OMG, the BURGERS! — made with beef from nearby Knight’s butcher shop. Drop your airs and inhibitions and come on in to Katie’s and just have a great time and some great food.

This is a great place if you are looking for a fun, loud, dive bar on a Friday night. I haven’t had their food, but the beer is cheap, they have large screen TVs, trivia, video poker and keno. Bar tender and waitresses are really friendly. I thought I would get at least a little attitude for being in a Dexter bar, wearing a Chelsea jacket, while the fourth quarter of the Chelsea v. Dexter football game was playing out, but nope. Everyone was cool. I got to have a beer and watch the baseball game. Their breakfast menu looks good. I look forward to trying a breakfast burrito sometime.

My boyfriend bought a great vintage motorcycle right outside of Dexter, so I took him out for a beer to celebrate. I had a hunch that most of the usual Dexter suspects might be packed at 8pm on Friday, so we tried out Katie’s. It’s a pretty basic and very enjoyable bar. The booths are comfortable, the swivel seats at the bar are inhabited by regulars, and the Oberon is cold. Our waitress was fantastic: not only was she was welcoming and amiable, she was also incredibly persuasive. The visit we intended for just a beer turned into two beers, and then pizza and breadsticks. What with the friendly service, the regular bar crowd, and the pool tables, Katie’s would absolutely be our hangout if we lived in Dexter, but there isn’t anything calling us to make it a destination spot.
