This place is one of my favorites for having Cantonese homestyle cooking. No MSG and food isn’t oily at all. It is really clean and their servers were nice. I like their steam eggs and special tofu.

I first came to this café during their grand opening. I was very excited to try their drinks out. I ordered a rose tea and it took them 20 min just to figure out how to work the register. I was very upset because I had to go somewhere after, and having taken 20 minutes just to work the register is a little much. My friend is a fan(wouldn’t say big) so maybe I’ll give it another shot. But, not in a while.

Usually a good place when owner is there watching. Today I had bad customer service and food was not at all up to grade. They made tomato and eggs without tomatoes without my consent and the chicken fried rice was not good.

A mom and pop Cantonese restaurant in the 7⁄11 plaza. Really wanted to give more stars but the food was really just OK. Chicken with ginger sauce — if you’re Cantonese, you know what a good chicken dish is. The flavor is decent but the chicken is on the tough side. Jade restaurant down the street really does a better job with theirs. Scallop egg white fried rice — I’m pretty strict with fried rice in a Cantonese restaurant because that should be their specialty. Unfortunately the fried rice was cooked too long and didn’t taste as good. Didn’t have that«wok» flavor. However, decent amount of scallop and egg whites compared to other restaurants. Crispy noodle in thick sauce — this is not too bad if you’re a fan of crispy noodle. But I’m not. lol. Overall, I would be willing to try other dishes out again. Service is friendly but might be a bit slow since it’s a family style café.

Just tried this place togo yesterday. Sweet & Sour Fish This was probably the best dish out of the four. Not too sweet, fried nicely. Sauce was not too thick either … could just be their style. Green Beans Lacking a bit of flavor but wasn’t fried to super crispness. Could be good or bad, depends how you like your string beans right? Need my fiber. Salty & Spicy Pork Chop This thing was fried to utter jerky dryness. Flavor was a bit absent too. We wouldn’t order this again Peking Pork Chop Interesting sauce, more liquid than paste and has this strong plum sauce. A different variation than I’m used to. I’d say it’s okay if you’re craving this particular sweet dish and you don’t want to venture any future but if you want the real thing head to Rowland Heights for one of the Seafood joints. Price point is close to what you would fine at a café in Rowland Heights but quality isn’t as good. I’d say one good thing is none of the food is super salty(no MSG) or painfully sweet. My friend said it usually tastes better? Perhaps we got the backup cook or they changed recently? S’ight.

Hooray, a solid Cantonese restaurant in Diamond Bar! I’ve been here 3 or 4 times so far, and have yet to be disappointed. I usually get the Chifa Special Noodle, yang chow fried rice, fish with vegetables, and green beans. All dishes are tasty, fresh, and authentic! Servers are very nice and prices reasonable. Bottom line: good Cantonese food at a reasonable price. I’ll be coming back again!

My aunt recommended me this place, and i’m so glad she did! I love this place. The food here is always so fresh and it is legit Cantonese food. The great thing about this place is that its not super oily and DOESN’T have that unhealthy feeling. The service is great, the food is great, everything is great. My favorite dishes here are the Braised Vegetable Pork, Chifa special fried rice, chow fun with beef and egg, eggplant with garlic sauce, their soups are just like my grandma’s(has a nice home cooked feeling). The chifa tofu is so crispy and is perfectly fried. Everything is just so DELICIOUS !!

Good stuff so far. I have been twice and both times ordered the Chifa house noodles which is a semi-crispy noodle dish with mix of seafood, chicken and pork. It comes in a brown sauce and its pretty good. They make pretty good drinks here too. I ordered a peach/green tea drink the first time and the second time had a pineapple smoothie which I really enjoyed. The place is small and can get crowded so you have to time your visit. Their English is not the best but the service descent. I’ve only been twice so not comfortable giving 5 stars just yet but for now I am definitely a fan.

— Locale Destination — It’s on S Diamond Bar Blvd and Montefino Ave in Diamond Bar. It’s in a small shopping center on the hill with very steep entrances. It’s right by «Seven Eleven». Drive slowly for the inclines and crazy amount of speed bumps in the parking lot so that you won’t damage your car. Ambiance: Contemporary, simple, plain. Family style yet more modern atmosphere. Menu: Various — seafood, other proteins, noodle, desserts, drinks etc. I don’t know what type of dishes define here as «Hong Kong» or «Cantonese» style. Price: It’s a bit higher than others, but they give you plenty of food. Service: They speak English very little, sorta friendly(though due to the language barrier), quick Parking: Good enough — Gluttony Expedition — Chow fun w beef and egg: I’m not a fan of noodle in general. I eat it because I’m curious and wanna try & Unilocal: p This noodle is very fat and thick. They don’t cook the noodle well, so it is bundled up — a big chunk of noodle. It’s not cool. You literally destroy it to eat it. Poor execution and very bland in terms of flavor on the noodle — that bothers me a bit but not the issue. Fantastic thing about this dish is definitely the creamy(not in «milk» creaminess way, but the starchy creaminess) and tasty sauce on the noodle. It’s just tasty. The beef is tender but fatty. Egg is subtle. I like the dish. Chow fun w vegetables: Terrible. It’s not on the menu, so I asked for my business partner who is vegetarian. Instead of creamy sauce, they used the oyster sauce. Bleh. Blueberry smoothie: It’s not that sweet compared with other smoothies. They actually use frozen blueberries, not powder. Kiwi smoothie: way too sweet. HK style shaved ice: I prefer light in sweetness in general, but this ain’t sweet at all. Regular shaved ice(not flavored one) with grass jelly, syrup, condensed milk. I need more condensed milk or/and brown sugar syrup for it! Very bland grass jelly. At least I tried. Bleh. — Conqueror’s Deduction — Though I’m not a fan of noodle in general, this chow fun with beef and egg is very tasty. It’s hard to try something else since I’ve already known this is good…

I’ve came here a few times for dinner. The first time we came here, we wanted to check this place out was because we had a free drink coupon. The place was packed with people doing the same thing as it was their grand opening. I guess the free drink coupon was a good way to get people to the restaurant. We noticed that their phone was ringing nonstop the entire time that we were there. It was somewhat annoying that the phone was never picked up for the entire duration of our meal. On our first visit, I ordered their Chifa special fried rice. For my drink, I ordered their Thai ice tea. which was a bit strong. On the second visit, I ordered their Yang Chow fried rice and pork chop with pepper and salt seasoning. Per their recommendation, we also ordered a half order of the Chifa special chicken. *Chifa special fried rice* This one had a little of every meat, beef, chicken, pork, and shrimp. It was good and although I ate it all on my own, the portion was enough to share between two people. *Yang Chow fried rice* This one was a few dollars cheaper than their Chifa special fried rice and was just as good. I would just order this one from now on. Their special wasn’t special enough to justify a few extra dollars. *Pork chop with pepper and salt* I liked this plate. It was not the usual pork chop that I’m used to eating. It wasn’t hard and dry. It was pretty tender and moist. *Chifa special chicken* I had a few pieces and it was good chicken, very delicious. It was pretty much Hainan chicken. It was served cold. Overall, all of the dishes that we’ve tried had been good, service had been good both times, and the prices were pretty decent. We would definitely come back here again as there aren’t too many good Chinese restaurants nearby.

Went back to give them another chance and was surprised. The filet migon was delicious. If you’re ordering for kids make sure you say no pepper because they do at quite a bit more than normal. The chow fun was good the sweet-and-sour pork was really the best around. They really fry it crispy and it’s not full of batter or fat. Service was great. Free soup and dessert. I will definitely come back again.

came here on a Saturday night and they were super busy, so busy that they ran out of plates. we ordered some stir fry dishes, fried noodles, and fried rice. the noodle/rice dishes were good, the stir fry Chinese broccoli was cooked perfectly with a nice crunch to them, but the honey walnut shrimp was hands down the worst I’ve ever had. that, and their service. now, I know to never expect service to be good at Chinese restaurants but the lady that ran the place was downright rude. we asked for 2 plates because we only got 4 plates when we had 6 ppl, and she had this annoyed, disgusted look on her face and said, kitchen is busy and a mess, they don’t have any more plates. we were almost afraid to ask for water refills but had to because we were all out of water, and if course, more dirty look. I’m pretty sure during the entire time we were there, she didn’t smile once. hey lady, work on your customer service and stop being mad at the world, at least try to look like you appreciate the business. and hire more than just one server for Saturday night, maybe that’ll make things less chaotic for you. ps. we we’re told no more BOGO drinks, even though clearly other ppl have been able to get it, so YMMV.

Brand spanking new! Chifa Café just opened up a few weeks ago and it is worth the visit for really good Hong Kong style Chinese food that is flavorful and fresh without being heavy or greasy. It is SO hard to find a great Chinese restaurant that I actually want to return to. I am so glad my husband’s Chinese co worker suggested this spot. Located in the 711 shopping center, this business has gotten a nice redo and is clean and new looking compared to the former Thai restaurant which occupied this space. We enjoyed the Beef Chow Fun with soy sauce which had very tender beef, and Kung Pao Chicken. The two dishes were more than enough for two sharing dinner. The flavors, veggies and meats were fresh and savory without being overly salty or greasy, and no MSG here! They also serve slush drinks and we ordered a mango slush which was made with fresh pieces of mango! Service was efficient and the food came out quickly for a Friday night. We even met the owner who is a nurse and is very particular to serve Chinese food which is not heavy but light and flavorful and fresh, now it all makes sense. Yay! Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. I can’t wait to return and try out more dishes like the Chinese Filet Mignon Shaken Beef, stir fried eggplant, and fried rice. So excited to finally find a great Chinese Restaurant in this area.

I went for lunch today with my brother and it was pretty good. I liked how the food tasted a lot and the BOGO drink deal is pretty awesome. However, it is definitely on the pricier side of things. Our total was $ 20.06 for two people during lunch – expensive, in my opinion. I know I can get bigger portions for less at other places. On the back of the menu it says lunch special is from 11 – 3 and is $ 7.50 and you can pick from a certain selection of items. It also says that dine-in gets rice and soup of the day. I did get rice, but no soup, which was a little disappointing. This might be because my brother’s dish wasn’t in the selection listed but I didn’t ask, so who knows. All in all, I enjoyed my visit. The food was really fresh and tasted great. I had fish fillet with black bean and pepper and my brother had the beef chow fun. Both were very tasty, and the chow fun was a pretty good portion! The waiter let us know about the buy one get one free drink deal they had, which was nice. Good service on his part!(He even refilled my iced honey lemon tea when I was running low!) It’s a very clean and welcoming space and I’ll probably be back another day with the rest of my family to try out more of the menu.

Good quality Canton food for decent pricing is so hard to come by in Diamond Bar… I mean c’mon, it’s Diamond Bar. There’s not much to do or eat in this city. :P So we were surprised when this place popped up on Unilocal as the«New & Hot» spot of the week. FOOD: We originally ordered a steamed pork with eggs, string beans with minced meat, fish fillet with black pepper sauce, and half of their ginger chicken with green onions. The portions are definitely generous as we gorged on the delicious dishes. The chicken meat was sooo tender and juicy, explosion of flavors were dancing on my tongue #UGHTOOGEWD. The string beans were perfectly cooked so the texture was crunchy but soft. They ended up giving us the wrong order and was served steamed spareribs instead of steamed pork with eggs. But the spareribs were super delicious nonetheless. It was fresh out of the steamer dripping in its own juices. NOMNOMNOM. Just a tip though, if you choose to order a steamed dish, I would make sure you have a lot of time on your hands, we waited almost an hour for the steamed spareribs to be done. But they gave us free refills on drinks(we ordered drinks that didn’t come with refills, but they gave us refills for having to wait so long. ;)) We also had their dong ling tea and honey chrysanthemum tea, I would forego these as they were super bland and watery. But there’s a section of drinks that comes with free refills! :)

This used to be a Thai restaurant but has now become a Canton Café. Much better in décor and atmosphere. The old place had good food, will miss them, but it was messy and crowded. They really stepped up the ambiance with a simple paint job and booths. Husband, baby & I dined in for lunch on garlic eggplant, crispy noodle and fried salted pork. Lunch meal came w/complimentary egg drop w/corn soup — it was a little bland but refreshing on a hot day. Our meals also included 2-for-1 drink when dining in — I had mango smoothie and husband had pineapple. Both were good. Large portions — we had enough to take home for lunch the next day. VERY friendly servers. its a new place — check it out!

Really good flavor. I had lunch here first time and ordered fish and veggie. I thought I’d give them a run for the money. After it can’t get too much boring than fish and veggie. Well I’m glad they exceed my test. The roasted garlic flavor was so good. The fish and veggie were fresh. It tasted just right and not too salty. They use canned mushroom but it was good and for the lunch special price I cannot complain. Only down side is it was slightly heavy in oil. But if you like oil then it’s not a problem. I want to cut my oil intake so I will ask them to use less oil next time. I will definitely be back for other dishes. And I think it has more flavor than Far East. Price is slightly more but you don’t have to wait an hour for food. I’m glad DB has this place.
