This place was fun for my 8yo. The chef was nice and the service was good! It was during the week and not as busy, but the sushi was good for the price. The show cooking is more daring than say, Benihana, and that part is cool too.

Only come here during off season(50% off some rolls and some menu items). The service is extremely slow and the sushi isn’t the best. Hibachi is fun for groups :) service in the bar is better than the sushi side!

I ate here twice when it was 50% off. It was a great deal for fairly good sushi! However, I would not pay full price for this meal! The fried sushi roll was delicious!

If this had been half off I might have given it 2 stars– the full prices during the ski season are absolutely RIDICULOUS– $ 16 – 18 for a roll and $ 3 – 4 for ONE piece of sushi. The menus were wet– the pages were sticking together– and my menu was missing some critical pages. The low quality food did not improve the experience. Our gyoza tasted fishy and were roughly the size of a quarter. The hot and sour soup tasted like they’d added water to stretch it. The Tom Yum was actually decent. The service takes the cake for the worst part of the experience. After over an hour of waiting for our sushi to arrive they informed us that they were actually out of something we’d ordered so we had to reorder. Glad we waited… The sushi was roughly what I expected from the mountains. Which leads me to return to my previous conclusion that you probably shouldn’t eat sushi this far from Denver.

We have been here a few times. The food usually OK, but the service is pretty hit or miss. This time was a pretty bad miss. We sat for 20 minutes trying to flag down a waiter. We never got to order anything. It wasn’t even busy. Two servers were just standing around. We went to the hostess, but she was sitting playing on her phone. When we told her what happened, the shrugged and said, «Sorry.»

50% off sushi special sounds like a great idea, and frankly in the past, it has been ok. Nothing great, nothing special, but ok. However, this will be my LAST visit here due to the ridiculous lack of service we experienced and the absolutely sub-par sushi. Not only was our waitress the worst I’ve probably ever experienced, but her fellow servers did not seem inclined to help either. After being seated, and ignored for more than 10 minutes, we had to return to the hostess stand to request our server. She arrived without even an apology and her bad attitude persisted through dinner. At one point, she had disappeared on us again, and we flagged down another server to see if we could get our water refilled and more drinks ordered– her response«Sure, I’ll get your server». How hard would it have been for that other server to take 3 minutes to salvage some of our experience to grab and pitcher and fill our waters? Apparently they are some cutthroat servers in it for themselves. The final straw was when we saw this other server mocking us while letting our server know that we had the gall to request service, and more alcohol, which makes her more money, NBD. In the meantime, the food was ok. We didn’t die of food poisoning or anything, but it was pretty MEH; not surprising for mountain sushi, I know. Also, 50% sushi sounds like a good deal until you realize everything is marked up– $ 16-$ 20 for rolls that would cost half that in Denver or elsewhere. All in all, we left pissed off, still hungry, and resolute in our promise to never return.

This place was close to the hotel the sat us quickly. But the waiter seems like he was in a hurry.(Maybe his personality). The cooking chef was great doing the volcano and the usual trick at cook on the table. He was very good and attentive to all our needs

I would love to speak of the food, but I did not get to eat it because the hostess spent 15 minutes on phone taking an order. Multiple times other wait staff came to foyer and saw us waiting, but none offered to seat us. I think the word is Rude! We opted for buying some chips and eating leftovers and pocketed the $ 50 I would have spent on Teppanyaki.

Two stars only because of their 50% off deal, the sushi isn’t worth it’s full price here. Plan on waiting to be seated, then waiting to have a server come over while 4 of them wander around aimlessly looking for something to do. Then expect them so forget the only thing you order that wasn’t written on the sushi card. 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order with a half full dining room. I wouldn’t pay full price here, but the sushi is worth the half price deal if you don’t go in starving and have time to stay for awhile.

The service is decent but the food is terrible. I’ve eaten a lot of sushi and this is just plain bad. The prices are ridiculous for what you get($ 15 – 19) per roll. I don’t mind paying that if the rolls are fresh, flavorful and memorable. These are not. I got rolls that just had not fresh tasting seafood and absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I think they are taking advantage of the tourists in the area by charging outrageous prices and delivering poor quality. Note to tourists coming to ski in Colorado, eat your sushi in Denver(there are several great places that take it seriously) but don’t plan on coming here unless you want to leave disappointed

Service was slow even though I was one of three tables. Still trying to figure that out. I guess because texting came first, then service. Other than that the sushi was good and 50% off. I’ll go back as I love sushi

The food is cheap and so is the quality. The food did not taste very good and left my boyfriend and me with achey tummies! My boyfriend enjoyed this place a couple years ago but says that it has gone downhill since then.

Came in a day they were offering both half price tappanyaki as well as sushi. I had the steak and shrimp combo and it was delicious. Our chef was entertaining of course and cooked my filet as ordered. The sushi was beautiful and very well made, fresh… I would return no doubt. Bonnie, our waitress was courteous and efficient.

The sushi was very good. I had 1 specialty rolls, 2 standard rolls and 2 pieces of sashimi. That food plus a bowl of miso and a rum & coke was $ 53(before tip). Seems a tad expensive, but I haven’t compared to other sushi in the area. Quality of all the fish was good except the Toro, which was very tough. Is Toro supposed to be soft and buttery? Waitress was friendly and stopped by often to check on me, sushi chefs were not friendly. It was the end of the night and I gathered they wanted to clean up and go home, but don’t let in a new customer if you can’t be nice, it’s the only reason people sit at the bar. If you need a sushi fix and you don’t mind paying for it, I’d recommend Nozawa.

Over priced for mediocre sushi. Toro was frozen and lacks taste. Salmon was touching the glass in the display because it was not properly wrapped. Seaweed salad was on top of a bed for non seasoned greens. Note that the price for the nigiri is for only 1 piece. I would not recommend going here

Been here twice for lunch and both times it’s been great other than the server’s bad attitude, as someone mentioned before I don’t think the servers care if you’re here or not! but the food is amazing, we also had a roll of sushi called phoenix and it was great!

Turns out to be a little better than expected, in this location anyway. We saw a BOGO sign taped to the door, bingo! Of course only certain rolls are BOGO and they are really small pieces but at least they offer something to attract customers! And the rolls didn’t taste too bad. The salmon roll we got from the non-BOGO part of the menu is larger in size. We came in during slow hours and as we were leaving I was surprised to find there’s another bigger section of the restaurant that didn’t seem to be opened at this hour. Looked to be Hibachi tables so maybe at night you have an option to sit there? I’d come again if I find myself at this area again.

Interestingly enough this place is a hybrid Japanese and Thai restaurant. I don’t know about the owner but the waiter/waitress are Chinese — they’re good at their job. Prompt and courteous service. The lunch bento is a great deal — $ 7.50 for a bento box that includes a bowl of miso or hot & sour soup, a bowl of salad with yummy Japanese salad dressing first. Then the actual box with a mound of white rice, three pieces of vegetable tempura(we received 1 slice of zucchini, 1 slice of carrot, 1 slice of onion), 3 pieces of California Roll(which were slightly small but okay in flavor), a pile of edamame(pleasant surprise and always reliably good), and your choice of Thai entrée(some options include: panang curry, red/yellow/green curry, basil chicken). The pile of the thai entrée was pretty big. My yellow curry had a kick to it and had baby corn, pineapple, chicken(you can also choose tofu, pork, and beef I think), water chestnuts, green bell peppers, carrots. In the end I wasn’t able to finish any more than half my entrée but would gladly have brought it home if I lived nearby. Good ambience, not that busy on a President’s Day Monday around noon. Clean and modern. Couple of flat screens.

Went to keystone for some boarding this past weekend and while in town, was having a massive craving for sushi. Called around and checked on Unilocal to see what places were open this early in the winter season and found this place. This place is in a shopping center. It’s divided into two parts — one for hibachi and the other side for sushi. I will be reviewing for sushi since that’s what I had. Also, this place is Chinese owned(I could hear them talking) so just a head’s up. If I were to eat at a sushi joint not run/owned by Japanese, I’d at least settle for Korean owned — they do a decent job. It had a lounge vibe to it and décor was cute. The only thing i didn’t like was that they were playing some pretty explicit music that had all the curse words in it — AND yes, there were children dining there as well. Shocked. Service: was ok, I definitely agree with other reviewers that said the serving style was«mountain» style. Very casual, didn’t bother me. The only thing that bothered me was the 2 other tables that came in quite a bit after us and were served before we were! Food: I ordered the hypnotiq hot sake which I liked. They did have the 50% off sushi special for the off-season which was pretty cool. They also had a 20% off the hot sake. I ordered the tuna roll, double double roll, yellowtail sashimi, octopus sashimi and salmon roll. Visually, the sushi looked pleasing but taste-wise, it left a lot to be desired. The traditional rolls were fine, nothing great, but the special roll tasted bland for some reason. The husband ordered chicken teriyaki and he didn’t like it. Some pieces were cold and some hot. Looking at it, it looked like a Chinese stir fry dish that they threw chunky sauce on and called it chicken teriyaki… Overall, if you’re in the area and no other places are open when you’re having a craving, this place is ok. Just stick to the more simple rolls…

I went here because of the name Sushi Nogawa which was the famous«Sushi Nazi» in Studio City CA. He had the best sushi around anywhere. He now owns Sugar Fish sushi restaurants. At any rate, this place was a big mistake. The waitress had an attitude that made us want to leave before even sitting down. Nasty! The food was less then mediocre. Shrimp roll was fair and the stir fry almost made me sick. Stay away from this place. Don’t let the name Sushi Nogawa fool you. There is no relation.
