I was staying at the Inn at Keystone, which is next door to The Goat. I went in for happy hour for some snacks to hold me until dinner. The bar counter was full so I took a seat at one of the tables near the bar. There was a couple of people who were sitting at one of the tables. I waited and waited for 20 minutes but the bartender never once acknowledge my existence. He moved about in and out of the bar to serve the customers sitting at the bar the whole time I was sitting at a table right next to the bar. I have never seen such bad customer service. Since they did not want my business, I left and went else where. I definitely will never return to this place.

It’s a bar with bar food and a good turnout. They split the bar on popular nights into an area with a small cover charge for music and no cover charge bar with a juke box. Menu is fairly limited to food coming out of a deep fryer and burgers. There are two daily soups on a whit board. Whiskey selection is not written up anywhere so went for bullet. I saw some glenlivet 12 on the top shelf; but people are not coming here for a whiskey flight. Pbr posters are on the wall and they have a 2.50 pint special all night.

The Goat es un bar muy local y no tiene mucha onda. Si sos un latino viviendo en Keystone, mejor evitalo. Además, tenés que pagar una entrada(wwhaaaa). Te vas a aburrir. Está bueno ir solo si vas con un grupo de amigos para jugar al pool. That’s it. Los tragos están bien y son accesibles. Si tenés ganas de tomar tequila con amigos, podés pedir un trago especial de shots que se ponen sobre un esquí para que 2+ personas tomen al mismo tiempo. Fun.

Go somewhere else. We were up from Denver for a couple of nights and looking for a local place. Two families with grown children– none of us terribly picky. This bar is meant just for locals– and others are not welcome. Bartender was so rude to my husband over a diet coke that it disintegrated into one of the local bar dwellers even trying to insert himself into the conversation. We were told to «check ourselves». Really? How about just agreeing to change out a measly diet coke? Waaaay out of line for paying customers to be exposed too. Food was very mediocre and others made it pretty clear that it was a locals only club– even asking if we had ever worked in the service industry. Sorry GOAT– yes we all have, and none of us were ever as nasty to a guest as you were.

The people giving this place 1 star must like their bars to be as uptight as them. It’s a dive bar and it’s perfect for mountain employees. I have fun here, so I have it 3 stars. I’d give more if the food wasn’t so bad. I really wanted to like the pierogis but they were so busy I could barely focus. The fries are decent. My sister and I love the free popcorn.

A fun bar with big TV, pool table, fooze ball, and games. No table service so order at the window or bar. Sean the bartender was great. Friendly, fun, and efficient. Loved the butternut squash soup. The Rueben was awesome. Stew was good. Chicken chili needed more seasoning. Hope to visit the Goat in PIB this summer.

Went here with a buddy for a happy hour(we arrived at 4 pm) and early light dinner. Ended up getting the chicken sliders and two beers. I was very surprised when I got the bill saying $ 9, and resulted in me giving the bartender a great tip for his good service. The music was on point. Great, lively selection while keeping the volume at a level suitable for talking without having to shout. Finding that sweet spot is a big factor for me at bars. I will definitely be visiting The Goat again soon!

It’s a dive. A really good dive. Lower your expectations and you will be pleasantly surprised. Friendly employees, good food, a few Colorado beers on tap, and decent prices. We loved our homemade soups – I had chicken chili and my husband had clam chowder. We split some wings and then I had some sliders and he had a steak sandwich. All were delicious and our food combined with drinks didn’t break the bank. This place is more my style than the pretentious resort bars and restaurants.

Came here during my trip to colorado. After an intense day of snowboarding me and my friend decided to come here on a tuesday night. For a tuesday night it was pretty packed and band was playing. I was drinking their locally made whiskey which was pretty smooth. I did not get to try their soup but i hear it is pretty good. People at the bar seemed friendly and i would definitely go back if i am in the area. However, they could do a bit better job cleaning and taking care of the place. It was little too dirty.

What’s not to like about a soup and whiskey place? I think it serves more whiskey than soup but so long as you are having a good time who cares. If you like character, strange friends and drinking with the locals… go to the goat. ;)

I so wanted to like the goat. Soup and whiskey! What’s not to like? Well… 1. Soup that comes from cans. It may be «homemade» in the sense that it was assembled there, but I know what frozen or canned vegetables look and taste like. To be fair, once you see mini corndogs on the menu, you can probably guess it’s not going to be fine dining. Still. Do better. 2. Indifferent bartenders will make the difference in a dive bar. Cheap ish drinks, great! But if you ignore me and the bar is nearly empty, I’m not coming back.

3 stars for drinks and atmosphere. Stars N/A for food. They have a nice understanding with the Pizza 101(across the ways) in that you can bring your Pizza over to The Goat, as long as you buy drinks, which was no problem. This place is a good option for those staying in/around Keystone resorts. It CAN be a slight walk, especially at the end of a night. Personally, I’m a fan of bars with games, so thumbs up for the pool table, foosball, connect four, trivia cards, cards, etc.

Yes, it’s slow, dirty, and mediocre, but hear me out: This is a place where you can bring your dog and have a $ 1 beer in a town small enough for you to know the folks walking in the door. Meet your friends after the mountain closes and laugh at the gaper families who turn away in horror. Have the pizza place next door deliver a pie to your table and share with everyone: the employees won’t care and if you know the girl taking your order I guarantee you won’t pay full price. Make friends with the bartender and with the guy next to you and you’ll be that much more a part of the cold, gristly, and awesome mountain lifestyle you came here to enjoy.

Wow, just WOW. Talk about super slow service but what do you expect when the place is run by snowtards. Came in on a Saturday night after riding Breck all day. We were staying at the Keystone Inn next door, and decided to come here for dinner and a few drinks. First off I have heard of this place for a long time. It’s been on my radar since I moved here 3 years ago and have been coming to Keystone for awhile now. So, I came in thinking a bit highly of this place because quite a few of my friends had recommended it. We were seated, and the place was dead. It took a good 15 min for someone just to walk over to us. He didn’t bother taking our drink orders, so we sat there, a bit confused if we should go to the bar or wait for him to come back. We decided to just go up to the bar and order beers and then the bartender informed us that the servers didn’t bring drinks(WTF???) and we’d have to go to the bar. After more waiting, we ordered a few apps– gravy fries and wings. The server forgot to come back to get our food order so we proceeded to wait another 10 minutes after we had finished those apps when he finally came back. Now let me say-the food was pretty good, especially the gravy fries. Bf and I shared a bacon cheeseburger and side of chili. Oh, and about the«SOUP». It only says Soup and Whiskey in their freaking name but do they have soup? NO! The waiter was confused and had to go ask the kitchen if there was any, and he said all they had was chili and soup of the day which also happened to be.CHILI. Burger was just fine, but the chili was certainly passable, way too tomatoey. I have since heard this place was taken under new management and it basically went downhill after that. Were I ever to go here again? Hell no.
