Mario rocks. And don’t forget to order the wings while you’re there!

I walked into the place and they were cleaning a microwave in the dining area. I don’t know what the inside looked like but whatever was inside was on the floor. Don’t waste your time or money on this place. Stopped in for a slice, it was as hard as the tar on the road in front if the place. I also ordered some soup. It came out and was so hot that I couldn’t taste it. I don’t recommend this place at all.

Let me start by saying I haven’t found many pizza places in westchester that are worth a recommendation. Seriously, for NY, these local pizza places suck. Pizza Di Mario is the only place I order from when it comes to pizza. I’m never disappointed, and I feel that their prices are reasonable.

I happened to be in Dobbs Ferry around lunch time yesterday and this pizzeria caught my eye. So, I stopped by for a quick slice. I was there midday and it was fairly crowded, so I would have thought the slices would have been fresh and rocking, but perhaps I caught them on a bad day or something, because they not very good. First, the structural integrity was terrible; basically it was a floppy, soggy disaster with not nearly enough crispiness to it. Second, it was slathered in tepid, yellow oil. Finally, in my opinion, it was way too light on the sauce. While the taste of the pizza was vaguely reminiscent of some good slices I’ve had in the past, there were far too many things wrong here to leave me with a good impression. I usually love discovering local pizzerias, but it’s places like this that remind me why it pays to search out a place with good reviews before spending your hard earned money and using up those precious daily calories.
