Amazing food. Amazing service. My waitress, Michelle, reviewed the extensive menu with me to help narrow my decision. She was attentive, polite, and knowledgeable about how the food was prepared. Actually dissuaded me from ordering too much warning the portions were big. She was right! Bill automatically includes 15% tip but make it 20% if she is your waitress. Meatballs(hot tapas) were delicious. And my main course of paella with seafood, pork, and chicken was even better. Cream-pastry with chocolate coating was the perfect dessert. The female co-owner checked on me several times to see how I liked the food. I got the impression she would have made me something else without hesitation or complaint if I was unhappy. Seriously — everyone here was great. Found this gem by accident. Marriott next door is my home for the night in between legs of a long journey. Unilocal said not to judge this restaurant by its strip mall location and I am glad I took the advice. Only suggestion would be to turn down the volume of the TV’s in the dining area. I had to blast Pandora on noise cancelling headphones to drown out the cacophony of two competing televisions.

This seems like a hidden gem in a strip plaza. Absolutely amazing food. Everything we ordered was cooked perfect and tasted delicious. From the Octopus to the clams to the meatballs and the lamb chops. The homemade desserts were so good we ordered 3 of them and all of them were excellent. Can’t wait to come back to this place.

Very nice, good and fast service, authentic Mediterranean food and music. They use square payment system — no paper receipt necessary — totally environmental friendly. A cute little restaurant.

Yummy food, good service & nice atmosphere. What more could one ask for. Even the octopus, which I had never eaten before, was delicious. The huevos rotos was also a new venture and was also delicious! Will be back! Viva España

OMG! It was almost 2, and I still hadn’t have Breakfast, and when I was about to leave home to have something to eat, I felt like having Paella, so I made a search and I got great reviews for this restaurant, which I knew it was a small restaurant, because I come to the salon next to it, but I never came to eat in, bht le me tell you… THEBESTPAELLAEVER!!! The waitress told me that when I asked for Paella, but she came out short… ITISREALLYAMAZING! It has a little bit of everything. A little bit of shells, a little bit of shrimps, a little bit of octopus… Chicken, sausage, EVERYTHING! This really IS the BEST Paella I have ever tried! The restaurant is really small, and it come up like a little café from outside, but when you pass the door in, it is a really small, cute, comfortable, nice, welcoming tapas restaurant, and it really feels like it, so you won’t feel like misplaced. What I did not like that much is the selection of wine they offer for when you only want one glass of wine. But when you want to buy a bottle, they have a great selection of Spanish wines, which I’m particularly not fond of. So, only because of the wine selection, and the location(not the atmosphere inside) I don’t give them theb5 starts, but I think that if it wasn’t for my particular tastes, they well deserve the 5 stars! It’s a great place to have Lunch, dinner, or come and share over Tapas with a few friends. Great place! BTW: I couldn’t have the whole plate. IT’S A LOTOFFOOD!

Went for lunch. I have to say the white sangria is one of the best I ever tried. The grilled octopus was tender. The viscaina cod was soft perfectly cook. The fried chickpeas weren’t dry at all. The garlic mussels were my least favorite. It had too many onions. I found it to be a bit expensive but the food was good. So if you are in the Doral area and crave spanish food try it.

The BEST authentic Spanish restaurant I have ever been. Period!!! It’s a husband and wife team. He cooks, she serves. The place doesn’t say much even though they did a nice job re-doing it a few years back. It’s also very small. Still, I love this place. The owner has a great taste for Spanish wines and, although a bit overpriced, I always order some Paternina($ 55) or Heras Cordon($ 90) from the menu. As for food, this is the kind of place you ask the owner what you should order. He gets his fish and other key ingredients daily from Spain! As for the food, we’ve had it all… on and off the menu. Some of the highlights are the sausage omelette and mussels in the wine butter sauce. Get the anchovies(off the menu) and the octopus which are sensational. I usually don’t like room temperature octopus(like it warm) but theirs is spectacular. The Chilean seabass is AMAZING as it’s cooked in a balsamic vinaigrette sauce. YUM!!! I’ve never had their duck or dover sole but my dad and wife tell me they are excellent. This place is a hidden gem and with my dad moving back to South Florida I can’t wait to return time and time again.

I liked this place. Good quality food, good service, good sized portions(appetizers were in fact surprisingly large for a Spanish restaurant). The place is not cheap, especially for a small place tucked into a non-descript mall, but given the quality and portions sizes prices are reasonable. Paella was good. Chistorra was good. Lobster soup was good. Octopus was good. In fact everything was good. Recommended!

In this petit european-style restaurant, the spanish owners will make everything possible so you have a great time, while eating authentic impressively cooked spanish dishes. The alioli alone is amazing, for even though it possesses ridiculous amounts of garlic, they manage to keep it fresh and not overwhelming as it sometimes tends to be. This time I had a grilled octopus as a starter. It was superb. The texture was perfect, not tough niether gummy(something very hard to achieve when cooking octopus) and the giant tentacle’s skin had turned into a tasty salty crust. After that, I enjoyed a really good Black Rice, cooked to perfection(have some rice with the alioli and be astounded). If you’re looking for authentic spanish food at an affordable price, this is the place. Enjoy!

Hands down, one of the most(if not THE most) authentic Spanish restaurant in Miami. Small space with just a few tables and minimalist décor. Delicious lunch specialties always feature Spanish regional cuisine dishes. The a la carte menu features a «who’s who» in Spanish tapas, both hot and cold. The Serrano ham is authentic, and so is the Manchego cheese; the croquetas are crunchy outside and creamy inside, and fried to order. Fresh fish and seafood flown from Spain(yes, it IS fresh!), minimally prepared, contrast with elaborate dishes like Asturian«fabes» stew with sausages and pork belly, black rice redolent of squid and«chipirones”(small sepias) served with authentic aioli, and delicious paellas with local and ever-changing ingredients. A generous wine list features classic Spanish wines from a variety of regions. Come and meet Chef Juan and his lovely wife, and enjoy a day(or a week, or a month, if you become enchanted like I have been) of gastronomical travels through Iberia!

Adjective Disappointed: 1.(of a person) Sad or displeased because someone or something has failed to fulfill one’s hopes or expectations. From the the reviews, our party of four had high expectations. And, the service and amibience was good+. However, the paella was far below expectations. The dish was burned underneath in places, the rice was mostly under-cooked on the other ingredients were tough, dry and over-cooked. Other than the company of our guests, dessert was the high point of the meal… all were desserts were good. My first three choices from the extensive wine list were out of stock but, the 4th one was still good. Overall, I would like to return because many of the other dishes at least sounded good/interesting and I want to give them another chance. Good Spanish restaurants are hard to find and need to be supported. An average rating is being generous to describe this place. Go with caution and don’t order the Paella.

I love this place! A hidden gem for sure. The place is tiny and family owned. It is a husband and wife team. I was told the name means BUENAPICADA in valenciano. Here I thought it was a French name. Ooooops. It is really casual with no more than 10 tables and usually full! Well, buena picada it was and always is! This last time went with my father in law(who is a regular) so he ordered for us. We started with the: –tortilla de chorizo(spanish sausage omelette) –mejillones provenzal(mussels in butter, wine and onion) –pulpo a la gallega(octopus with potatoes and red pepper) –anchovies with olives plate(not on the menu) Those were all very good. The mussels were huge and outstanding. I had to take some of the bread and swipe it in the butter!)I am not even a mussels type of gal but these were amazing. Also not a big octopus fan but these were incredible. I could have had this as my entrée. Should have too so that I didn’t have to share!(«only child» syndrome I know…) For entrees, we had the: –Chilean sea bass al balsamico(in a balsamic sauce) –Lenguado a Meniuere(dover sole in a lemon butter meniuere sauce) –Magret de pato Uvas y Ron(duck magret with grapes and rum) All amazing. We had some rich and bold Spanish wines while dining and ended with cortaditos for us all too. Last but not least, they brought out a complimentary cheese and membrillo(quince paste) treat and I chose a Napoleon dessert which is homemade. Oooh Lordie, that was SO good. I could not even finish it and I have been known to dust off some big desserts. I was told they either make their desserts or import from Spain. I should have brought the rest home but that would defeat my «must diet during the week» goal so passed. The beauty of this place is that although a little on the pricey side, it is great to eat something that you know is bring cooked just for you, not mass produced, only includes the best ingredients and have the chef at your table. Not sure what you want? just ask. He will give you suggestions or better yet he will ask, what do YOU want? easy! I love love love that! Can’t wait to go back!

I have the slightest suspicion that the owner is a cuban woman faking a spanish accent, it doesn’t help. The fact that it is supposed to be from the same family of owners as nearby Olivo’s restaurant, which happens to be Argentinian, cant help but wonder, do they fake an argentine accent there? *** I stand corrected, Thanks Brenda P! -«The owners are ex partners with the Olivos owners who ARE Argentinian… these owners are 100% from Madrid.» Accents aside, I wish people in Miami would understand(and this goes for all spanish restaurants), Tapas are meant to be small bites of food each between $ 2 – 6. Ideally, they are meant to be «tops» of a jar/glass/mug used to cover your beverage from insects as you go about your night and whatever fits in them is the ideal portion, so you can mix and match as you wish and have more choice on what you eat. As far as this restaurant is concerned, I was incredibly disappointed with the cold«tapas» but very pleased with the hot ones. Their Pulpo a la Vinagreta was made with small octopus, which leaves for a stringy texture rather than thinly sliced large octopi as it is traditionally served, it was also drowning in oil, not appetizing at all. Its fine if you’ve never tried the original, my parents seemed to like it. The Callos a la Madrileña were fantastic and had great flavor, I recommend that if you know what you’re ordering. The desert was very good too, a sweet cream-cheese-like tart with membrillo. Overall the experience was pleasant, but the price didn’t justify the food.

I did go back with a certificate and after ordering the minimum required of 2 entrees, we also had 2 desserts, and a small tapas plate, the bill came up to $ 145. They DIDNOT honor the $ 25 certificate I had and the owner was very rude, arguing with me and saying the certificate was fraudulent! wow .that was unbelievable. The food was very simple, nothing special, it is just not worth it. I will never go back to this place, they are very pretentious. You can have an outstanding meal at a French restaurant in Coconut Grove and spend a fraction of that. After we left I actually felt sorry for them, it’s a mom-and-pop restaurant and they clearly have no idea how to run a business, specially how to treat their customers. Needless to say the place was completely dead at dinner time. — — - I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the price. Me and my husband had 3 tapas plates– pulpo, potato salad and scallops. The food was pretty good. I drank a glass of their white sangria($ 9) which was delicious and my husband had water. The bill came up to $ 89 with an 18% gratuity included. C’mon why include 18% gratuity on a party o 2 ? I don’t know if I’m coming back. or maybe I will with a certificate next time. :)
