You know it’s bad when the waiter can’t tell you the definition of «scratch kitchen.» It appears that the employees should be educated on the meaning of the restaurant name, as well as some pointers in customer service. Our waiter was very pleasant, but I observed a couple very unfriendly female waitresses, and the hostess was actually rude. Our food was sub-​average and reminded me of Golden Corral. Will definitely not be back.

Love about everything that have on the menu. Drinks are great. Variety of delicious foods. Very pleasant staff. Friendly environment

Everything is delicious! But we love the ribs & chicken tenders w/​pain killers… Yummy

I would have given this place more stars but the waitress ruined it for me. when you see other people getting their food before you who ordered 15 minutes after you, you start to get annoyed. Then you have to keep reminding the waitress for napkins and water and silverware. Then you see her sitting with customers yapping away trying to get tips instead of getting me and my wife some silverware as we stare at our food not being able to eat after the 45 minute wait for a burger and chicken tenders… Disappointed.
On a good note food was excellent. Waitress ruined the first impression. We will try again. But will not sit with the same waitress

From Chicken Fried Steak to Bacon Cheeseburger… Great!

Typical casual dining food service below par. Spasgne, best thing they offer pot way to much onion. All other can get at Applebee’s or ruby’s and ocharleys. Ect.

I love Cheddar’s simply for the fact that it is easy, quick, and cheap. My husband sometimes works night shift, and he loves to stop by Cheddar’s to get take out on his way to work. He normally gets the New Orleans Pasta, which is about $ 10 — about what it costs for him to eat fast food. The portion is large enough to fill up my 6’5″ husband and get him through a 12-​hour night shift. I love the Key West Chicken & Shrimp. The meat is always tender, and the sauce and pineapple pico de gallo is the perfect combination of spicy and sweet.

I was at this restaurant this afternoon. Travis was our server. He’s a GREAT server, just a bit louder than most. Very attentive and super spot on with recommendations. I would ask for him if you go.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant. There are cool decorative features to check out.
The food was good! I got a half rack of ribs and the meat was falling off the bones. The mashed potatoes were very good and the broccoli cheese casserole was yummy!
My fiancé got the Monte Cristo sandwich, based on a recommendation first from my best friend and next from Travis. Check out the menu for the details on this unique dish. My fiancé enjoyed it, but wasn’t expecting it to have so much batter, so there was a bit more than he preferred. He pulled some off, but then didn’t end up eating it all.
If you’re into flavored tea and lemonade they have several flavors.
Now the prices… INCREDIBLY reasonable. If you’re in the area, check this place out. They’re even open on Sundays, which can be a challenge in South Alabama.

Not only is the food worse since they became «Scratch Kitchen» or whatever they’re calling themselves now, the last time I was there I noticed that all of us black patrons had been seated in the back section. Yes, there were white patrons in that section, too, but there were also white patrons seated in the front section as well.
I complained to the manager on duty, but I got the impression that not only did she not care – it was her idea. I have to give her credit, though… she played dumb very convincingly. I guess she figured she could play the nut role and pretend she didn’t know why or notice every non-​white person in the place couldn’t be seen from the hostess podium.

Not all Cheddars are created equal! My wife and I came here for dinner and ordered the fish tacos with a salad and a steak with baked potato. The steak was ordered as medium-​well and came out medium rare. It was sent back to the kitchen to be re-​cooked; when it came out, the outside was scorched but the inside was still red. They really need to turn their grill down. I never received the salad and my wife asked for ranch dressing for the potato and we never got that either. As for the fish tacos, it was like an entire fried catfish stuffed in a small tortilla. Way too big for a taco. I have ordered this same item many times at a different location and the size of the fish was appropriate for the size of the tortilla. The salad was still on the bill and we had to have it taken off. Not to mention the inside of the restaurant was icy cold. First and last time at this location!

As much as I don’t want to like Cheddars because of its cheap prices and frequently packed dining rooms, I find myself coming back again and again. The food is always consistent in quality and quite tasty. The menu is wide ranging, like a diner, but seems to deliver the goods regardless of whether your taste is Italian or Mexican. Avoid long wait times by asking for a table in the bar area.

Ok so the food is bomb 90% of the time and the prices just can’t be beat but the staff is not so good, or at least the people I get stuck with aren’t. I come in and 100% of the time something is wrong. I mean its either getting a frozen margarita when I always say on the rocks. Or missing a side item which I have to ask for. I mean damn can’t you just listen to me for once. I know I’m 22 years old but I tip very well. Just give me what I give you please

I was with a group of five individuals on a Saturday (all above the age of 21) night. I expected the wait to be long. Our group was given the usual square pager and then I looked in the bar area which was fairly empty. We decided this would be our best experience and decided to forgo the long wait for a table. The Bartender was super polite and ensured that we always had drinks. We were also provided small plates to share the appetizer without asking. The bartender also engaged in conversation while attending to all the other patrons. Her ability to multi task was stupendous and I look forward to my next trip to this restaurant.

Cheddars is always a delightful dining experience. We went Sunday afternoon expecting to wait forever to be seated and were seated immediately.
We ordered the Spinach Artichoke dip which was amazing, Fresh chips and the salsa had good flavor. We also ordered Chicken pot pie which is always a favorite go to and as always did not disappoint. And then the Monte Cristo with Black beans. The Black Beans were a surprise with how the flavors blended and the freshness of the Pico de Gallo… So good!
Service was awesome… We were seated next to a large table and the server made sure to check in with us. We left full and incredibly happy.

Stopped in for a quick dinner and waited an hour and fifteen minutes after we were seated for our meals to arrive. One meal was under cooked. Not impressed and the manager seemed to think we were making a big deal out of a little thing like uncooked chicken.
Won’t be going back there. Ever.

It’s either hit or miss on service here. The past two times have been COMPLETE misses. We dined in and had to find someone to get our waitress to come get our drink order. It was an awful experience. However I work nearby and we often place orders for pick up. The food is always ready and the quality is good. My suggestion is: if you find a good server there, request them. Even if that means waiting an extra ten mins.

Today we got the ultimate nachos, kids chicken tenders and fries, and steak and shrimp with broccoli and french fries. Everything tasted great, service was pretty good, and very plentiful portions for a decent price.

The Cheddar’s I use to eat at in Beaumont, Tx was amazing, this Dothan, Al location is not.
We won’t be eating here again which makes me very sad. I loved the spinach dip, chicken tenders, and heavenly mashed potatoes but the staff at this Cheddars is horrible!!!
My husband and I first tried this location last year, a few months after it opened. My husband ordered a beef pot roast dish (they now no longer serve) and it clearly was a pork roast. We asked our server about it and he argued it was not. We decided we’d wait a while before trying to eat here again, maybe they’d get a new manager or something.
We ate an early dinner today, Oct 31, 2014, at around 4pm. First issue was my husbands drink… peach tea that tasted like pure peach syrup. He asked to get a regular sweet tea (after maybe 3 sips of the peach) and we were still charged for the fruit tea.
There was hardly any customers there and yet my husbands mashed potatoes were served cold and then was asked by our server to «scrape them onto a side plate» so she could show the manager. His green beans also tasted like they had been cooked with sugar, which neither of us have ever encountered before.

Horrible service from opening day. My husband and I have eaten here many times since then with understanding new establishments will usually have some kind of issues. But they have been open well over a year or 2 and we are not coming back. We got the worst kind of food poisoning & with a newborn at home we were not well enough to take care of ourselves let alone a newborn baby. Good job at being the worst restaurant in Dothan. Always bad service and after waiting hours to eat (everytime) just for it to make us sick. I’m steering clear of this place! Should have spent less money on building and more on training and hiring.

It was good, but it was PACKED.
Crap. I forgot what I had there, lol. But I know for a fact I got French fries.
But anyway, it was great food and stuff, but the wait time and waiting for the food took FOREVER. Well, it was busy, what do I have to say? It’s a chain, and it was dinner time, so yeah, expect it to be busy!
But I love the décor, especially the fish tank with all those cute fishies!
But we were visiting family down there, so we might go to Cheddar’s with them again.
